They are coming thick and fast, heres another posted by some wii site:
The price will not disappoint. The date will not disappoint. The games will not disappoint, obviously. What comes in the box might disappoint a few of you, though. Nintendo is going to pack in the console itself of course, with two Wii remotes and two nunchuck attachments. As far as my source knows though, you won't be getting the classic controller packed in. Nintendo will also be deciding on the 13th, the day before the conference in other words, whether or not to add an SD memory card to the list of things included in the box.
To make up for the lack of the classic controller at launch, Nintendo is planning to pack in Wii Sports. The whole point behind the Wii is to get everyone in the family interested in gaming. Nintendo figures that two Wii remote and nunchuck controllers and Wii Sports will be an immediate hook for the audience they're aiming for. Many people remember those NES sports games as some of their favorite NES games. (RBI Baseball, anyone?) Nintendo is hoping to snag older fans back with this Wii Sports title. They're also hoping that older non-gamers (specifically, the parents that had kids that played games during the NES era) see the ease of the controller, remember that their kids played the NES versions, and gain an interest in Wii Sports themselves.
If you don't believe me now, you will in six days. So sit back, play your Gamecube for a few final memories before you pack it away and replace it with the Wii, and be ready for the 14th. You'll all be very happy.

From the Sunday Herald:
The first piece is that the Australia media has now had a run with the console and that there is at least one Wii here in Australia.
The second piece of information is now a “target price” for the Wii, the Herald says that the Wii when it launches in Australia will cost no more then $330AU, while its still not a final price its closer to “not more then $250US”.
We now believe that the Wii will launch in Australia at either $299 or $329 like the Gamecube was. And we are also expecting a full announcement of the date and price at the end of the week along with the other countries.

This time it's Vibe magazine, not normally a source for your pre-launch speculation, but still weighing in on what they think of the Wii. In a supplement to the main magazine titled VStyle, they have this to say about the upcoming Nintendo Gamecube successor.
Nintendo's Wii (pronounced Wee) has a crazy name and an even crazier premise--motion-sensitive wireless controllers that require you to flail about to control gameplay. But once you start whacking a virtual tennis ball using an actual swinging motion with your arm, you're hooked. Small, sexy-looking, and affordable, Nintendo's newest gaming system, which promises such motion-activated titles as Excite Truck and Wario Ware to Metroid and Madden 2007, is a winner. $150; www.nintendo.com Do the Vibe editors have an inside scoop? Are they breaking an NDA? Are they just speculating? Is this just a product of research involving a Google search? We'll most likely know this Thursday, following Nintendo's media events, but I'm starting to lean more toward this low, low price as more than just rumor.

New Hardware project from the father of the Passkey, heres an excerpt:
I was busy the past couple of month, so this is the first post after a long while.
To get back to hardware development, I decided to do a quick IDE to GBAMP hack. I also took a few pictures for the few people interested in doing this (at their own risk)
You might not know it, but CompactFlash memory cards use IDE interface; and hence it’s possible to map each IDE pin to a corresponding CF pin. Unfortunately, DS delivers only 3.3V to GBA slot and so an external 5V power supply is required. I used a 11.1V li-poly battery and a DC-DC converter to bring the voltage down to 5V.

Heres the translated interview:
"The Design That Nobody Hates”
Mr.Takamoto is in charge of the structure of Wii console and Wiimote. Wii’s smallness — “the size of three DVD cases” — is one of the great feature of Wii console. Actually, Mr.Iwata was stacking three DVD cases, and said “I want Wii to be small like this”. Mr.Takamoto got bewildered rather than amazed. At first, he couldn’t understand why he have to make Wii such a small machine, but he was getting it gradually. Wii should be “unobtrusive presence” in living room. There are a lot of audio-video equipments around the TV, and Wii have to set near the TV because of the pointing device of Wiimote. Spaces between TV and AV equipments are very limited, so he understood that Wii have to be small. “The size of 2 DVD cases” was impossible, but they achieved “the size of 3 DVD cases”.
Mr.Takamoto told that The hardest thing was disc drive, which have to be almost the same width of one DVD case. If disc drive became thinner, it became more breakable. There are a lot of earlier age users, so Nintendo have a very strict standard. After a lot of trials and errors, they finally got it by internal reinforcing pad.
He also told that they strained at using slot-in drive. If they decided to use GameCube-like disc drive (opening the top to change discs), the width of the drive could be thinner, the cost could be cheaper, and the decay durability be better. But, as he said before, the space near TV is very limited, so they thought that Wii-users feel more comfortable by using slot-in for changeing discs.
Mr.Ashida is in charge of the design of the Wii console, the Wiimote, the package and the logo. They don’t want to make it like a mad woman’s breakfast around the TV. Not only the matter of size but also shape. Nintendo64 had a lot of curves in its shape, so it was difficult to find the place to set it. On the other hand, the design of GameCube was “the design of toy”. From SNES, the designs of Nintendo’s console was like a toy, and this was intentional attempt. But the average of the ages of users has changed, he feels that the balance between the “toy-like” design and the “AV-equipment-like” design is very important. The keywords are, “the design that nobody hates”. Not a toy, not a AV equipment, they want Wii to be a kind of interior accessories. Mr.Ashida decided to form Wii-design team. The designs of Nintendo console used to pruduced by one designer, but this time, he consulted widely with young designers inside Nintendo.
The turing point was the idea of the stand. Young desiner produced the Wii’s stand, and it allows representing new shape by combine Wii with it. A few weeks before E3(2005), Mr.Ashida and his team finishd this design. At the first presentation to Mr. Iwata, they got the go-ahead. Then, the design was Made in public at E3, and Mr.Ashida was very, very surprized because hedidn’t know that the design was to be displayed at E3 2005.

Heres an excerpt
Given the kanji-filled Japanese title, you've probably never heard of Chousouju Mecha MG. But you will. The Nintendo-published, Sandlot-developed mech battle game is yet another way to put that overused DS to good use.
Mecha MG gives you a chance to take control of a variety of mechs in battle. Been there, done that, you say? Not quite like this. The twist here is in how you control the mechs. Each mech has a different cockpit layout reflecting its unique capabilities. Some mechs transform, some strafe left and right, some fire missiles, some attack by waving swords back and forth. All these actions are achieved by switches, dials and levers shown on the touch screen and manipulated directly by the stylus. The only area that uses standard controls is actual forward, back, left, right movement of your mech.

Some users have took it upon themselves to start a petition to get M3 and G6 to support homebrew more on their flashcarts, heres what it says:
To: M3 Team, Homebrew Developers
The M3 Team is a group of devoted, well respected individuals in the NDS homebrew community, and their flagship products, the M3 and the G6, are the leading, most reliable solutions to date. Their efforts to maintain a high level of compatibility and quality is unparalleled.
However, recent events, namely a statement by a well respected homebrew developer to drop support for their products, have struck fear in the hearts of many M3\G6 owners and owners-to-be.
This petition has two goals:
1. Send a formal request to the M3 Team to work more closely with homebrew developers, release tools, libraries, and source code as necessary; and stop placing hurdles in their path, so that they may continue to support these great products.
2. Send a formal request to the homebrew developers to continue to support the M3 and G6 which are very popular solutions and are owned by many people, people who are eager potential users of your homebrew software, please don't cast us aside.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
We at DCEmu and DS Emulation put our weight behind the effort and urge all visitors to sign the petition also.

Sektor posted this news at his site:
I've been working on FlashbackDS/REminiscence. The next version will use Chishm's libfat for accessing files, so it will be compatible with more devices. It will have working sound effects (thanks to GPF's SDL updates) but currently the music crackles and doesn't sound so hot.
I also started porting C-Dogs but it's not playable yet.

Heres what Juan Castro of IGN said about Wii:
“How is the Wii the only right choice for gamers? Contrary to what you believe, Wii games for the most part ignore “hardcore” gamers. Just look at its lineup. It’s filled with games like Elebits, Super Monkey Ball, Duck Hunt and Excite Truck. It has a handful of promising games, take Super Mario Galaxy and Wario Ware, but the rest hardly qualify as harcore, if that’s the point you want to make. Hell, even its best games, like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, wouldn’t really qualify as hardcore.”
“The Wii may outsell it (PS3) at launch, but no one cares about those numbers…With the Wii, on the other hand, developers hesitate calling it a next-gen system now, which isn’t so hot…and this is something both hardcore and casual gamers will definitely notice.”
Sour grapes eh ?
