A photo from a toy fair held in Nuremberg suggests that Sega's blazing-fast mascot will make his way to the next-gen consoles in 2015. Spindash's report, as translated by Sonic Stadium, notes a placard at the event from toy manufacturer Jazwares that hints at a Sonic game for the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. Jazwares currently has a line of Sonic merchandise, so it would make sense for them to know about future Sonic projects.
The image notes recent Sonic games in addition to the "new 2015 title TBA" game, but it doesn't make note of Nintendo's "worldwide partnership" with Sega to release three exclusive Sonic games on Nintendo platforms. Sonic: Lost World kicked off this supposed trilogy and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games served as the second installment, so it's unclear whether the TBA game used to be Wii U exclusive, or if another Sonic game is still in the works for Nintendo platforms.

Cartoon Network series and toy line Tenkai Knights will shapeshift this summer into Tenkai Knights: Brave Battle, a 3DS game from Namco Bandai. Nintendo Everything reports that Brave Battle will build its story and four-player versus modes from 2D, action-oriented gameplay. Players won't be stuck with static representations of a creative toy, either - robots will be customizable and capable of shapeshifting to different modes in battle.
Brave Battle will follow the Tenkai Knights as they attempt to stop The Corrupted and their leader Vilius from conquering the planet Quarton, as well as Earth. Namco Bandai did not specify whether Vilius' final attack will be a single-stud brick hidden in carpet, but we feel it would be the most convincing way to establish sinister intentions.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life is coming to North America, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal. Iwata didn't provide a time table for the Western launch. A Nintendo representative told Joystiq that the company "has nothing to announce at this time."
Tomodachi Collection, which translates to Friend Collection, is a series where Miis interact with one another across a variety of everyday activities, like going out to dinner and playing in a band. The first Tomodachi Collection launched on the DS in 2009, was turned into a TV show a year later, then made its debut on the 3DS in 2013 with Tomodachi Collection: New Life. As of last October, the game has sold 1.63 million copies in Japan.
The 3DS localization news follows an eventful week for Nintendo, which held an investor's meeting in Japan where CEO Satoru Iwata outlined plans to bring the company back to profitability. Ideas included non-wearable health tech, bringing DS games to the Wii U and a new on-demand games service spanning multiple devices.

Yesterday, we brought you a happy story on the free copy of Ms. Pac-Manincluded with early purchases of Pac-Man Museum. Today, we bring you gloomy news: The compilation's 3DS and Wii U ports are no longer planned for release.
Pac-Man Museum was first announced last summer. At that time it was slated for release on Steam, Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, and the Wii U and 3DS eShops. That story from yesterday only mentioned the Steam, Xbox Live and PSN iterations of Pac-Man Museum, prompting Nintendo Everything to contact publisher Namco Bandai. According to the site's report, both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Pac-Man Museum have been cancelled "as a result of delayed development."
While this cancellation is depressing news for Nintendo devotees, those who have access to any of the platforms Pac-Man Museum will be appearing on should give the game a shot, if only for Pac-Man Battle Royale. Unless you frequent Japanese arcades, you probably won't have many other chances to experience the gleeful chaos that is four-player Pac-Man.

Giant Miis should have A World of Keflings in their hands by the end of March, according to developer Ninjabee. The province-building follow-up to A Kingdom for Keflings was lined up to hit Wii U last year, but Ninjabee now says it's due in the next two months.
While Ninjabee's first news of the year is for an old game, the indie studio says it's got plenty of new things in the pipeline. Last week it posted images from four concepts doing the rounds at its Utah office, and they're certainly intriguing. Three of them look to be for action-orientated games, with one featuring a sword-bearing demon in a city's downtown, and another a band of modern-looking adventurers taking on a colossus-like monster.
"Some of them are more developed than others," says Ninjabee's Michael Purser. "Not all of them will become finished products, at least not in any recognizable form. But they all represent the beginnings of something wonderful: the genesis of NinjaBee's next game."
Expect to hear more on that around August and September time, because Purser says Ninjabee's bringing one of those properties with it to PAX Prime.

The founding family of Nintendo will offer up its shares as the platform holder prepares to detail its share buyback scheme tomorrow.
Bloomberg reports that the Yamauchi family will sell part of its holdings in the company – estimated to comprise around ten per cent in total – as part of the strategy revealed by current Nintendo president Satoru Iwata last week.
It is understood Nintendo will purchase as many as 9.5m shares, representing nearly 7.5 per cent of its outstanding stock. The Yamauchi family is said to have a “desire to sell” as part of this process, although it is not known how much of its stock will be offered.
Former Nintendo CEO Hiroshi Yamauchi, who ran the company for 53 years until 2002, left his stake in the company to his four children upon his death in 2013.
Iwata is the first Nintendo president to come from outside the Yamauchi family.

Any declines suffered by Nintendo will come at a cost for the wider market unless platform holders act.
That’s according to UK PlayStation boss Fergal Gara, who told TrustedReviews (as spotted by NintendoLife): "[The decline of Nintendo] could be detrimental to the market, unless people like us raise our game and help tap into the younger consumer group that they serve rather well.
“That is the challenge to us. We need to bring maybe more family-friendly, more casual experiences into the market. I think there’s a big market segment there that we should take the challenge to engage and I see lots of potential to do that.”
The implication is that lapsed Nintendo gamers will not by default gravitate to other formats and could instead simply slip from the market.
Sony, to its credit, has a rich history of broadening PlayStation’s appeal and has previously enjoyed great success with the likes of SingStar and Invizimals, even if the likes of Wonderbook have proved less of a commercial success.
However, PS4 has in its early days focused primarily on the core gamer and has to date made little attempt to win over more casual markets.

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said the firm's next consoles will take cues from Apple's iOS platform by sharing a unified development environment.
Speaking at an investor's briefing last week, the exec said that "vast technological advances" in recent years now allow the company to create an "integrated" software environment that will be shared across its next handheld and console devices in the same way iOS unifies iPhone and iPad software.
Currently, software on one Nintendo machine is not easily ported to another. But Iwata says an integrated development platform will change this. "If the transition of software from platform to platform can be made simpler, this will help solve the problem of game shortages in the launch periods of new platforms," he said.
The exec also argued that retaining the core architecture from one console to its successor will be important for things such as backwards compatibility.
"While we are only going to be able to start this with the next system, it will become important for us to accurately take advantage of what we have done with the Wii U architecture," he said. "It of course does not mean that we are going to use exactly the same architecture as Wii U, but we are going to create a system that can absorb the Wii U architecture adequately. When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems."
Iwata revealed that, as part of this integration plan, in 2013 the company reorganized its R&D divisions to house both its console and handheld teams as a single department.
Creating an integrated family of systems in this way will allow Nintendo the potential to release more varied iterations of its hardware similarly to Apple's wide and varied iOS device lineup, added Iwata.
"Currently, we can only provide two form factors because if we had three or four different architectures, we would face serious shortages of software on every platform," explained Iwata. "Apple is able to release smart devices with various form factors one after another because there is one way of programming adopted by all platforms. Apple has a common platform called iOS," he said, also noting the similar properties of Android.
"The point is, Nintendo platforms should be like those two examples."
In the same investor Q&A, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata shed some more light on the company's plans to reach out to potential customers through smartphones and tablets. The meeting addressed Nintendo's grim sales forecast for the remainder of its financial year.

Shigeru Miyamoto says Nintendo has not done enough to make single-player Wii U games that use the GamePad in an interesting way.
Miyamoto commented on the future of Wii U games in a Q&A session with investors posted on Nintendo's corporate site.
"[W]e are confident that 'Nintendo Land' offered compelling as well as Nintendo-like gameplay experiences for, say, four or five people when they gathered in the living room by taking full advantage of the two screens, but some of the single-player experiences were rather weak," Miyamoto said. "It is my conviction that we will need to put more focus on creating experiences that utilize the GamePad that can also be fully enjoyed when playing alone."
Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, three of Wii U's biggest releases in 2013, largely used the GamePad for off-screen play aside from light interaction or inventory management.
Since Wii U and its GamePad start up together and are always linked, they can provide a much more compelling experience than a television and separate tablet, Miyamoto said. The firm is continuing to explore how this arrangement presents "various useful propositions for the living room."
Miyamoto said the challenge of developing HD games has also slowed down Nintendo's production pipeline, though the process is speeding up as Nintendo steps more firmly into the HD era.
In the same investor Q&A, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata shed some more light on the company's plans to reach out to potential customers through smartphones and tablets. The meeting addressed Nintendo's grim sales forecast for the remainder of its financial year.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has responded to investor concerns about the company's planned smartphone and tablet app.
A public Q&A posted to Nintendo's corporate website goes into detail on Nintendo's slashed sales forecast, including reaching out to consumers through apps and external licensing.
"The key aspect is that Nintendo would like to establish a firm channel on smart devices through which we can connect with consumers," Iwata said. "This channel will enable not only us but also third-party publishers to communicate all the fun content on Nintendo platforms to consumers. However, we cannot expect consumers to activate our application every day if we only establish a channel that is solely dedicated to advertising.
"We would have to make efforts to provide a channel for consumers that makes them entertained, pleased and happy in order to have them use our application frequently. The application market for smart devices is already extremely competitive, so it is generally very difficult to have consumers activate a single application on a continual basis."
Iwata said Nintendo is committed to "ensuring continued engagement" through the platform, though he acknowledged it will be challenging. Nintendo previously shot down reports that it would offer promotional mini-games on mobile devices.
Nintendo currently promotes games and harbors community interaction through its Miiverse social network. Though Miiverse's illustrations and other posts can be viewed anywhere, users can currently only post their own content through the Wii U or 3DS apps.
Once Nintendo establishes an engaging environment on mobile devices, Iwata said, the firm "will be able to dramatically change the relationship between Nintendo and consumers" in cost-effective manner.

A Kingdom for Kefling's 2010 sequel, A World of Keflings, will make its way onto Wii U "in the next couple of months," according to developer Ninja Bee.The Wii U port of the formerly Xbox 360-exclusive god game was due last year, but got delayed. A Windows 8 version of the game launched last spring, but it didn't include multiplayer or DLC.Looking ahead, Ninja Bee has confirmed that its next project won't be a Keflings title, but something new entirely. In the meantime, it's shown off some concept art for various projects its been tinkering with - though it noted that not all of these will result in finished games."We have a crop of fantastic concepts that represent the cream of our collective imaginations," the developer said. "These four images represent four new IPs, new frontiers for NinjaBee. We've lavished a lot of love on each of these. Some of them are more developed than others. Not all of them will become finished products, at least not in any recognisable form. But they all represent the beginnings of something wonderful: the genesis of NinjaBee's next game."

Disney Infinity might have fallen flat but the potential was there - "only ever one great expansion away", we wrote in our review. That expansion - or even perhaps a sequel - may be close at hand. The Wall Street Journal heard (via All Games Beta) that Star Wars and Marvel versions of the game were in development.Should think he'll be a shoo-in for the bright, colourful box.
Separately, a QA job advert for Infinity developer Avalanche () suggested there was a new game that needed testing in time for the autumn, and mentioned Xbox One and PS4 as well as PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.Disney Infinity, remember, uses a Skylanders toys-and-game concept but themes virtual playgrounds around the characters and licenses they belong to. The starter pack that launched last autumn contained Sulley from Monsters Inc/University, Jack Sparrow from The Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Mr Incredible from The Incredibles.Presumably a Disney Infinity 2 could contain a Marvel superhero, a Star Wars character and another character to achieve the same kind of effect. But which characters, hmm?Despite not immediately rewriting the history books, Disney Infinity has been a success of sorts for Disney, selling 3m copies and helping the company to a rare profit, wrote the Wall Street Journal.Disney Infinity will remain a critical part of Disney Interactive, then, but elsewhere in the 3000 company there will be layoffs - several hundred of them, again according to WSJ. The social gaming business Playdom will apparently be a target. All of this comes a day before Disney is due to reveal its quarterly financial results.

Cloud storage app Pokémon Bank is now available to download in Europe from the Nintendo eShop, eagle-eyed 3DS owners have spotted.
It's free to try until 14th March, and you'll get a super-rare Celebi for your trouble (thanks,Serebii).Pokémon Bank was originally set to launch in December, but its arrival was delayed after its initial Japanese launch left Nintendo servers struggling to meet demand. The program allows you to keep up to 3000 critters from 3DS games Pokémon X and Y on Nintendo's servers. It's handy if you want to keep more monsters than the game's internal storage will allow, or if you have copies of both X and Y and want to swap Pokémon between them with just one 3DS.Bank also comes with Pokémon Transporter, a tool that will let you upload Pokémon from DS title Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 - but be warned, it's a one-way only process.

The Wii U version of 90's Arcade Racer is targeting a 'mid-2014' release, according to indie developer Antonis Pelekanos and Nicalis.
The Kickstarted game was successfully crowd funded in february last year, Pelekanos partnered with Californian developer Nicalis, which had previously assisted with development on other indie hits including Cave Story, The Binding of Isaac and VVVVVV.
Speaking specifically on the Wii U project, the developers said that, moving the game from PC/windows environment to Wii U has been a straight forward process, despite its "fair share of challenges".
They went on, "Some things that worked on PC couldn't be ported exactly Wii U without having affecting how the game performs on the Nintendo console-and probably other consoles, too. However, we're very happy with the results."
The developers not that the Wii U version is running at 60fps at 720p with 4xMSAA and FXAA (image processing effects), which make for a "simply beautiful" picture.
Heavily influenced, as the title suggests, by old-school racing games like Sega's Daytona USA, 90s Arcade Racer pits you against a targeted 29 opponent cars on quirky tracks in high-speed cars including Nascar, Indycar and GT sports cars.
Pelekanos' collaboration with Nicalis means that he can concentrate on the game's art design while Nicalis's more experienced programmers can work on the "Unity programming, physics, tuning and general design and production of the game".

A single system combining both home and handheld consoles could be the future of Nintendo’s hardware business.
That’s according to president Saturo Iwata. Although the exec admits that he’s not personally convinced by the idea, he does say in an investor Q&A that the company could pursue such a strategy if it were demanded by consumers.
“Whether we will ultimately need just one device will be determined by what consumers demand in the future, and that is not something we know at the moment,” he said.
“I am not sure if the form factor (the size and configuration of the hardware) will be integrated. In contrast, the number of form factors might increase. Currently, we can only provide two form factors because if we had three or four different architectures, we would face serious shortages of software on every platform.
What has already been merged, however, is Nintendo’s home and handheld software development. And the benefits are obvious, Iwata argued.
“Apple is able to release smart devices with various form factors one after another because there is one way of programming adopted by all platforms. Apple has a common platform called iOS,” he stated.
“Another example is Android. Though there are various models, Android does not face software shortages because there is one common way of programming on the Android platform that works with various models. The point is, Nintendo platforms should be like those two examples.
“We are hoping to change and correct the situation in which we develop games for different platforms individually and sometimes disappoint consumers with game shortages as we attempt to move from one platform to another, and we believe that we will be able to deliver tangible results in the future.
“In this perspective, while we are only going to be able to start this with the next system, it will become important for us to accurately take advantage of what we have done with the Wii U architecture. It of course does not mean that we are going to use exactly the same architecture as Wii U, but we are going to create a system that can absorb the Wii U architecture adequately.
“When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems.”

Nintendo IS releasing enough first party games to propel its platforms forward.
That’s the message from senior MD Shigeru Miyamoto, who when accused of releasing insufficient titles to support Wii U told investors: “I interpret the question as asking whether we are making the same mistake every time we launch a new hardware system.
“While we are always working on this, I think you are right in the sense that we have not been able to deliver results. When we launched Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS, we were unable to release any games from any of our main Nintendo franchises to coincide with their launches. With Wii U, however, we released, along with the hardware, New Super Mario Bros U, as well as Nintendo Land, which was a very unique proposition.
“If you look beyond, we also released a new instalment in the Pikmin series after a long interval, and we also had Super Mario 3D World at the end of last year. By the end of this year, we will have Mario Kart 8, as well as Super Smash Bros. Therefore, I feel that we have managed to overcome the challenge of releasing enough first-party franchises on Wii U.
So what is going wrong with Wii U then?
“Our biggest downfall last year was that we failed to communicate the true value of Wii U, failed to make children persuade their parents to buy our products for them, and failed to offer products that parents could not resist,” Miyamoto added.
The company was also accused of failing to adequately spec the Wii U to survive competition from the likes of Xbox One and PS4.
“I would like to mention that Wii U has massively evolved from Wii technologically,” Miyamoto continued. “Using shader technology, for example, has significantly changed our development environment as well as our developers themselves and the time to develop games, all of which are areas toward which we have been making significant reinforcements.
Fellow senior MD Genyo Takeda added: “Combining technology with entertainment creates machines. Under such circumstances, Nintendo tries not to emphasize the raw technical specifications of our hardware. We have focused on how we can use technology to amplify the value of our entertainment offerings, and in this sense, technology for us is something that stays in the background.
“Therefore, I do not wish to make excuses for having so far failed to offer the ‘amplifier’ that our consumers can regard as having true entertainment value. Whether a machine is powerful or not only has meaning in the context of whether that can express itself in terms of gameplay to consumers, and I therefore do not intend to go into fine detail about the specific numbers.
“I apologize for not directly answering your question, but it is my personal belief that explanations of such a nature have little relevance to consumers.”

Nintendo’s financial plans for the year ahead have not been designed to accommodate a Wii U price drop.
President Saturo Iwata said last week that a price drop for the console was “not an option”. Now he has told investors that the company’s business strategy for the year ahead was designed around the idea of maintaining the machine’s current RRP.
Furthermore, Iwata now admits that Wii U will never replicate the success of the Wii, and seems for want of a better term to be telling investors that Nintendo will try and make the best of a bad situation.
“Regarding Wii U, it is not easy to make a significant profit with the current units sold,” he said in a Q&A. “The price reduction of the hardware in the overseas markets represents a large amount of our total expenditure for this fiscal year, but based on the premise that we will not make such a reduction in the next fiscal year, I think our business can operate without such a negative effect on our profitability.
“It is not realistic to hope that [Wii U] will sell 100m units in the same product cycle as Wii. On the other hand, I believe it is never too late and it is possible to achieve a certain level of sales volume and a certain level of results with Wii U depending on how we write its scenario.
“Therefore, we would like to come up with a realistic scenario and turn Wii U into a platform that generates as much profit as possible.”
He also thinks that forthcoming releases will succeed where the likes of Super Mario 3D World have failed in becoming ‘system sellers’.
“In this calendar year, we will release Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros which are kinds of games that Nintendo has been particularly strong with in encouraging players to invite each other to play,” he added.
“Therefore, with these two titles as our main drivers, we would like to make sure that the markets will thoroughly acknowledge the value of Wii U, including the titles that we have released to date.”

byuu has released his new version of his multi-system (NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance) and subsystems (Super Game Boy, BS-X Satellaview, Sufami Turbo) emulator higan (formally bsnes).
Quote:
This release adds support for game libraries, and substantially improves Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulation with cycle-based renderers. Many other changes are also present.
It´s very important to note that this release now defaults to optimal drivers rather than safe drivers. This is particularly important if you do not have strong OpenGL 3.2 drivers. If performance is bad, go to Settings -> Configuration -> Advanced, change the video driver, and restart higan. In the rare case that you have trouble opening higan, you can edit settings.bml directly and change the setting there. The Windows safe driver is Direct3D, and the Linux safe driver is XShm.
Also note that although display emulation shaders are now supported, they have not been included in this release as they are not ready yet. The support has been built-in anyway, so that they can be tested by everyone. Once refined, future releases of higan will come with built-in shaders for each emulated system that simulates the unique display characteristics of each.
Changelog:
- sfc: added SA-1 MDR support (fixes SD Gundam G-Next bug)
- sfc: remove random/ and config/, merge to system/ with better randomization
- gb: improved color emulation palette contrast
- gbc: do not sort sprites by X-priority
- gbc: allow transparency on BG priority pixels
- gbc: VRAM DMA timing and register fixes
- gbc: block invalid VRAM DMA transfer source and target addresses
- gba: added LCD color emulation (without it, colors are grossly over-saturated)
- gba: removed internal frame blending (use shaders to simulate motion blur if desired)
- gba: added Game Boy Player support (adds joypad rumble support to supported games)
- gba: SOUND_CTL_H is readable
- gb/gbc: PPU renderer is now cycle-based (major accuracy improvement)
- gb/gbc: OAM DMA runs in parallel with the CPU
- gb/gbc: only HRAM can be accessed during OAM DMA
- gb/gbc: fixed serialization of games with SRAM
- gb/gbc: disallow up+down or left+right at the same time
- gb/gbc: added weak hipass filter to remove DC bias
- gb/gbc: STAT OAM+Hblank IRQs only trigger during active display
- gb/gbc: fixed underflow in window clamping
- gb/gbc/gba: audio mixes internally at 2MHz now instead of 4MHz (does not affect accuracy)
- gb/gbc/gba: audio volume reduced for consistency with other systems
- fc/sfc/gb/gbc/gba: cheat codes are now stored in universal, decrypted format

A day after its European debut, Nintendo has released the beleagueredPokemon Bank application to the North American eShop. Simply fire up your 3DS, visit the online store, download the free program and it's yours.
As its name suggests, the Pokemon Bank is an electronic storage service for the legions of pocket monsters you've gathered in Pokemon X and Y – up to 3,000 of the adorable critters. More crucially, however, the Bank brings with it Pokemon Transporter functionality, which allows you to transfer Pokemon from the Nintendo DS Pokemon games into Pokemon X and Y.
While the Pokemon Bank download is free, the service itself is not. Nintendo is imposing a $5 annual fee for use of the Pokemon Bank, though if you download the application prior to March 14 you'll receive a free 30-day trial.

Oh, to live in Japan and have enough yen to buy all the 3DS XLs. Square Enix adds to the handheld's library of super-sized stunners with a black and gold number for Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, the follow-up to 2012's Final Fantasy rhythm game mash-up.
The limited-edition unit is due alongside Curtain Call at launch in Japan, and that's now penned in for April 24 - the portable is priced 23,000 yen (around $227) and comes with the game pre-installed. There's no news on the encore entry coming to the West, let alone the 3DS XL, but Square Enix did lock in a US trademark before it even announced the game.
As we saw at the Tokyo Game Show, Curtain Call isn't overhauling the first game's winning formula, save a new two-player versus mode. Instead, expect plenty of new characters and music, including some from recent FF entries likeLightning Returns and A Realm Reborn.

Promising-looking indie shooter Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails will arrive on Wii U in April, its developer has told Eurogamer.Scram Kitty is a true Wii U exclusive - one of only a handful on the horizon, and of an even smaller handful not developed by Nintendo itself. The on-rails shooter is the work of Cardiff-based studio Dakko Dakko, until now best-known for its gloriously named and wonderfully addictive PlayStation Mini title The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character. But Dakko Dakko's heart lies with Nintendo, as Eurogamer's Martin Robinson found out last year when he went to visit. The developer was founded by ex-Lionhead and Q-Games man Rhodri Broadbent, who moved to Kyoto to work on Nintendo's Star Fox series.

This project was originally titled "ROP Loader" but was changed due to functionality intended to be added at a later time.
The "DS Profile" exploit is/was(depending on when you are reading this) a well known, but not often performed exploit for the Nintendo 3DS. This exploit involved setting a value too high for the length of a string which caused too much to be read on the stack.
If you would like to read more about the exploit in particular, refer to the "Details" tab. Otherwise, binary downloads for the ROP-Loader are available below.
[h=2]How to Use[/h]1. Copy the "ROPLoader.nds" file to any flashcart compatible 3DS flashcard.
2. Insert the flash card and open the 'game' with the title of "ROPLoader"
3. When loaded, press the "A" button to initiate the initial ROP payload installation process
4. If the verification process fails, repeat steps 2-3. Otherwise, press A to return to your 3DS home menu.
5. Copy the Launcher.dat that you wish to use to your 3DS' SD card and reinsert the SD into your 3DS.
6. To initiate the exploit navigate to System Settings->Other Settings->Profile->Nintendo DS Profile

DeSmuME SVN r4971 is compiled. DeSmuME is an open source Nintendo DS(NDS) emulator for Linux, Mac OS and Windows. DeSmuME supports save states, the ability to increase the size of the screen and it supports filters to improve image quality. DeSmuME also supports microphone use on Windows and Linux ports, as well as direct video and audio recording. The emulator also features a built-in movie recorder.
DeSmuME SVN Changelog:
r4971
Cocoa Port:
- Don't completely block output threads when they are set to idle, since we need to assume that messages will be passed to them at any time. It seems like NSRunLoop is smart enough not to unnecessarily wake the CPU on idle, so the thread block was not necessary.
- Fix bug where user settings were not being applied while the emulator was paused. (Regression from r4970.)

Fceux SVN r3046 is compiled. FCEUX is a cross platform, NTSC and PAL Famicom/NES emulator that is an evolution of the original FCE Ultra emulator. Over time FCE Ultra had separated into many separate branches. The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU. As the X implies, it is an all-encompassing FCEU emulator that gives the best of all worlds for the general player, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.
Fceux SVN changelog:
r3046
fix bugs in some debuggerPageSize cases

r3045
fix bugs in hexeditor font handling from last commits

Snes9x Git (2014/02/05) is compiled. Snes9x is a portable, freeware Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulator. It basically allows you to play most games designed for the SNES and Super Famicom Nintendo game systems on your PC or Workstation; which includes some real gems that were only ever released in Japan. Snes9x is the result of well over three years worth of part-time hacking, coding, recoding, debugging, divorce, etc. (just kidding about the divorce bit). Snes9x is coded in C++, with three assembler CPU emulation cores on the i386 Linux and Windows ports.
Snes9x Git changelog:
* Fix some compiler warnings.
* Simplify window recreation.
* Fix reconfiguring the X11 sub-window every draw.

Yoshi is getting a special 3DS XL bundle for his third shift of babysitting, Yoshi's New Island, according to a report by IGN. The report expands on UK retailer Base's listing for such a bundle - while IGN confirms the bundle's existence for North America, the report notes that Base's listing image is a "fan mock-up."
The Yoshi bundle is due on March 14, sharing a release date with Yoshi's New Island. Base lists the bundle at £199, which matches the Zelda 3DS XL bundle's UK launch price. The North American version of the Zelda bundle sold for $219.99.
We got our hopes up last year for a special Luigi 2DS last year, but that turned out to be the handiwork of Rose Colored Gaming. We got a Mario & Luigi: Dream Team 3DS XL bundle instead, which is almost as cool as the RCG's Luigi-engraved 2DS mod. Almost.

When a group of friends accumulate deaths and treasure while traversing the trap-filled screens of 1,001 Spikes, they may channel some classic protagonists. NintendoWorldReport recently described a few of 1,001 Spikes' multiplayer elements, like 4-player co-op in the main game, a king-of-the-hill style battle for a money-spewing jar, and the vertically-oriented Tower of Nanner that limits each player to nine lives. Aside from teamwork and brutal competition, 1,001 Spikes' roster of characters will also host throwbacks to classic games.
For instance, NWR describes a plumber-esque Mr. Video Game character that can hurl fireballs, as well as a knight that's disrobed during his death, a nod to Sir Arthur from the Ghosts n Goblins series. NWR notes another, ninja-like character that bares resemblance to the Ninja Gaiden series' Ryu Hayabusa, with a whip-wielding hero serving as a nod to Castlevania's Belmont family. Even CommanderVideo from the Bit.Trip Runner series has signed up for 1,001 Spikes' death-ridden landscape.
1,001 Spikes is a remake of Aban Hawkins and the 1,000 Spikes, previously available via Xbox Live Indie Games. 1,001 Spikes is planned to launch on the 3DS and Wii U in Q1 of 2014, with releases also planned for the PS4, Vita, PC, Mac and Linux.

Earlier this week, the wall-scrolling blaster Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Railswas assigned a March release on the Wii U eShop. However, NintendoLife'sexchange with developer Dakko Dakko suggests the platformer isn't due for North America or Europe until April. The above trailer's description on YouTube reflects the April time window as well.
Neither an exact date or price have been announced yet, but consideringScram Kitty was initially shown in an eShop indie sizzle reel in November, just having the release month is a start. April would be a good choice, too - afterDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in February and Watch Dogs sometime this spring, the Wii U's next big release, Mario Kart 8,isn't due until May.

Sega Sammy revealed Sonic: Lost World shipped 640,000 units across Wii U and 3DS in 2013, as the company looks ahead to the mascot's new guise in the also Nintendo-exclusive Sonic Boom. The figure comes via newly published financial reports for the nine months ending December 31, 2013, in which Sega Sammy also shipped 680,000 units of Football Manager 2014 on PC. The company didn't state if either figure included download sales.
The two games contributed to total packaged software shipments of 6.31 million across the nine months, down year-on-year by 9 percent. However, Sega Sammy noted "favorable" performances for Phantasy Star Online 2, and other downloadable games like smartphone entries Puyopuyo Quest and Chain Chronicle.
Sega put down 14 billion yen to acquire Persona dev Atlus from Index in November 2013, but the company's nine-month figures show a net profit of 44.3 billion yen, which converts to around $434 million. The company made substantial gains in the period through sales of investment securities and non-current assets.
Sega Sammy's financial report comes the day after the company unveiled Sonic Boom, a game with a new art style that looks to take the mascot in yet another fresh direction. It's due this year, with western studios Big Red Button and Sanzaru handling the Wii U and 3DS versions respectively.

The relentless march of time may bring with it incredible advances in gaming technology, but there's a cost too: with each passing year, the number of working vintage consoles slowly but surely diminishes. Some fail simply due to age, others due to the fact that they've been serving their owners dutifully for much longer than was ever anticipated when they were first manufactured. While it's true that "they don't make them like they used to" (you're unlikely to see many launch Xbox 360 consoles match the Atari 2600 by lasting three decades and still functioning), there's a definite lifespan to these classic systems, and indeed all consumer tech. Sooner or later, they're likely to stop working.Chances are, if you're a keen retro enthusiast, you may already have experienced a death in your (hardware) family - which is one of the reasons why the market for clone systems continues to grow each year. As patents expire and technology progresses, it's becoming easier for third-party manufacturers to legally replicate the performance of past systems in cheap-and-cheerful machines. Companies like Hyperkin - which is preparing to launch its all-in-one Retron 5 system this year - are filling the void left by Nintendo and Sega. Unsurprisingly, neither company is interested in offering replacements for hardware that is now over two decades old, and that's where the clones come in.Challenging Hyperkin in the 2014 "Clone Wars" is fellow industry stalwart Retro-Bit, which has produced numerous clone systems over the past few years, including the RetroDuo and RetroDuo Portable. Keen to capitalise on the renewed interest in clone hardware triggered by the announcement of the Retron 5 - which runs NES, Famicom, SNES, Mega Drive and Game Boy Advance titles - last year, Retro-Bit lifted the lid on its own all-in-one system: the Super Retro Trio. As the title suggests, this device plays three different old-school formats: NES, SNES and Genesis (to give Sega's 16-bit system its North American moniker - the rest of the world refers to it as the Mega Drive). In actual fact, the name is slightly misleading, as Retro-Bit's machine is also capable of playing Game Boy Advance and Game Boy games via additional peripherals - which we'll get on to shortly. At a cost of $69.99 - that's just over £40 - this console is hardly going to break the bank, and it's worth keeping that low price in mind when you rip open the packaging and delve inside. The Super Retro Trio is sturdy enough, but it's a long way from being a premium product. It feels light, and the cheap plastic used in its construction does little to instill confidence. When removing games from the cartridge slots, there's a definite degree of flex to the top part of the casing but even so, it never feels like it's going to fall apart at any point and the myriad controller ports on the front - a pair for each of the replicated formats - are solid enough.

If you've recently had some difficulty tracking down the part dungeon raider, part agricultural simulator Rune Factory 4, publisher XSEED Entertainment has some good news for you: The shortage is temporary.
A post on XSEED's Facebook page explains that RF4 is selling "well beyond our expectations, so we're working as quickly as possible to restock physical copies." The post also thanks fans for making the game a "major success."
While waiting on a restock might be annoying, at least North American fans were spared from getting their hopes up for nothing. In Europe, Rune Factory 4was planned to be published by MarvelousAQL, but the release was canceledin January. At the time, Marvelous stated that securing RF4's release for Europe was "not possible to do."

AeternoBlade, a side-scrolling, combo-driven action adventure game from CoreCell Technology, will slice up foes on February 18 on the 3DS eShop. The date was revealed on AeternoBlade's Facebook page, with its $14.99 price tagconfirmed in a responding comment on the same status. AeternoBlade follows protagonist Freyja's quest for revenge, the lone survivor of a village that the devilish-looking Beladim burned down, presumably for funsies.
As Freyja stumbles away from the blazing remains of her village, a stranger gives her the Aeterno Blade, which allows her to manipulate time. This lets players rewind their way out of deaths and slow down time in general. Besting enemies supplies Freyja with one of four orb types, which can be used to upgrade abilities or regenerate health, magic or Ultimate Points. Magic serves as the resource for time manipulation, while Ultimate Points fuel larger attacks.
A level-up system, a tree of unlockable combos and equippable, stat-boosting relics strengthen Freyja throughout her journey. Relics are managed in sets of three, and players can swap sets using the touchscreen mid-battle to adjust for a specific encounter's demands.
If you're curious, a demo for AeternoBlade is currently available on the eShop.

IGN says it has verified a listing found on online retailer Base is legitimate.
The site reports the bundle, which is listed for £199.99 will be released on March 14, on the same day as Yoshi's New Island.
The game is being produced by Takashi Tezuka, who served as creative director on 1995's original Yoshi's Island for SNES.
It maintains series gameplay mechanics such as Yoshi's flutter jump, ground-pound and egg throw, while introducing new ones that make use of 3DS features like gyro sensor functionality.
Nintendo recently confirmed that members of its founding Yamauchi family have sold some of their stake in the company as part of a 114 billion-yen ($1.1 billion) share buyback initiative.
The heirs to former chief executive Hiroshi Yamauchi owned about 10 per cent of Nintendo's equity, Nintendo said in a statement. Nintendo purchased 9.5 million shares, or about 7.4 per cent of its outstanding stock, as part of a wider move to give the business more clout in making future mergers or acquisitions.

Much of the criticism aimed at now-defunct smartphone title Flappy Bird concerned allegations of IP infringement.
Some quarters of the press and development community criticised the game’s creator Dong Nguyen for his use of a green pipe design that quite clearly references Nintendo’s Mario platform series.
However, Nintendo spokesperson Yasuhiro Minagawa has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that Nintendo itself had not filed any complaints about the game.
“While we usually do not comment on the rumours and speculations, we have already denied the speculation” he said.
Speculation remains concerning the exact reason for Nguyen’s decision to pull the game. He has previously insisted that it was not a legal matter, and indeed it certainly doesn’t seem as if he was being leant on by Nintendo.
A more likely cause is the sudden outburst or press attention endured by the developer, some of which has been undeniably vile.
Nguyen has remained silent on Twitter since the game’s removal.

Watch Dogs is due out between April and June, during Ubisoft's Q1 2014 - 2015, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The Wii U version has been delayed, Ubisoft confirmed to Game Informer.
"We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team's resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft," CEO Yves Guillemot said during Ubisoft's financial call.
Watch Dogs was intended to be a next-gen launch game, but was delayed to spring 2014 a month before the new console launches. At the time of the delay, Guillemot said, "In a world of mega-blockbusters, we have now come to the conclusion that the team needed additional time to realize the game's full potential."

Marvelous AQL's next project is a Nintendo 3DS simulation-RPG developed by veteran Rune Factory series staff, Japanese publication Famitsu announcedtoday.
Kinki no Maguna (Forbidden Magna) was previously teased in a countdown siteculminating in today's Famitsu reveal. Few specifics regarding the project have been announced, though more details will be revealed when the official site opens on February 17.
The announcement follows up on the recent closure of Rune Factory series developer Neverland. The studio filed for bankruptcy late last year, citing "changes in the business environment" for its financial troubles.

The news was confirmed in the Super Smash Bros Miiverse community, where Sakurai regularly posts screenshots from the upcoming Wii U and 3DS title.
"The Home-Run Bat in this game is black," Sakurai said in his latest post, highlighting the bat's new design, "and it's so powerful that your eyes might bug out!"
The bat is considered by Smash Bros tournament players to be one of the most powerful weapons in the game. Though most Smash Bros weapons can only be swung normally, the bat can also be swung as a forward smash attack (a more powerful attack).
When swung like this the bat causes massive knock-back if it connects, leading to a likely knock-out in most circumstances.
It can also be thrown, doing 20% damage if it hits, making it effective from long range too.
Although series lead Sakurai is heading up the latest Smash Bros. project, Namco Bandai is handling development duties with a team including producer Masaya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer) and director Yoshito Higuchi (SoulCalibur).
"All the top creators from Namco Bandai are gathered here to create a never-before-seen dream team for this project," Kobayashi said when the partnership was announced in June 2012.
Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS have not yet been given release dates, though they are expected to launch in 2014.

Weapon Shop de Omasse, the final title in Level-5's Guild 01 series, will reach the 3DS North American eShop on February 20, Nintendo announced today.Omasse's comical, light-hearted plot is the result of a collaboration between Level-5 and comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai. In Omasse, Oyaji and his apprentice Yuuhan manage an item shop that equips heroes with the weapons they need to take on valiant quests.
Players forge weapons by hammering weapons on the 3DS' lower screen. Players tap out rhythms immediately after hearing them, achieving a higher level of craftsmanship according to their accuracy.
A content rating for Omasse from the Australian Classification Board popped up earlier this year.

Nintendo announced a 3DS mini-game collection by the name of Rusty's Real Deal Baseball during today's Nintendo Direct livestream. The game is free to download, and offers one demo game by default. The rest are cartridges that players purchase for their "Nontendo 4DS," a small console inside the game that houses all the baseball mini-games.
The catch to Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is the haggling system within the game, in which players attempt to talk the mini-game store's owner (Rusty, who happens to be a dog) into lowering the real-life prices of the mini-games. This is accomplished not only by chatting Rusty up at the right times, but by bribing him with items earned within the games players already own until the shopkeeper (or one of his kids) announces the minimum price has been met. Completing rounds in mini-games also earns players collectible stamps, which unlock items for use in bargaining.
Nintendo first released the game as Darumeshi Sports Store in Japan in August 2013.

Squids Odyssey has slingshotted past its 2013 fall release date on the 3DS and Wii U eShop and is readjusting itself to target this spring. Odyssey is a turn-based, tactical RPG that lets players fight battles by flinging ocean life into their foes. Antagonists have been mutated by an ooze-like pollutant, but they don't seem keen on using their powers for good like our half-shelled friends.
Odyssey is a compilation of existing entries Squids and Squids Wild West, but it adds a new campaign, a new Squid hero and reworked controls for the Wii U and 3DS. Players can assemble teams from 15 Squids across four classes to take on Odyssey's 90+ missions. There are also more than 65 stat-boosting helmets to strap onto Squids, in case you were worried about safety gear for your arsenal of sea-creature bullets.

Since making Mutant Mudds Deluxe, an improved version of platformer Mutant Mudds, available on Wii U, Steam and PSN last year, developer Renegade Kid has seen the best sales on Nintendo's console - even better than PSN and Steam combined.
Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham revealed the news on Twitter earlier this week. Watsham added in a follow-up tweet that 3DS has undoubtedly been the most popular platform for Mutant Mudds Deluxe, which was unlocked as a free content download on 3DS in the original Mutant Mudds game.
The varying length of availability on each platform is worth noting when comparing sales. Mutant Mudds Deluxe arrived first on 3DS in early 2012, followed by ports to PC and iOS later in the year. A Steam version was made available last November, then the PS3 and PS Vita versions launched in December. Watsham didn't say where iOS fits into all of this.
Renegade Kid is currently working on a few different games for 3DS, including atmospheric first-person shooter Moon Chronicles, loot-focused platformerTreasurenauts and horror FPS Cult County. Renegade Kid has also promised a sequel to Mutant Mudds, but development is currently on hold until work onTreasurenauts has been completed.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, the latest entry in Nippon Ichi Software's cult-favorite dungeon crawling series, will finally reach European shores on May 2.
Like all Etrian Odyssey games, Untold sees players navigating a series of labyrinthine structures from a first-person perspective while battling fiends in turn-based fashion. Mechanically it's a very classic, arguably dated take on the roleplaying genre, but these archaic elements are countered by modern aesthetics, sound and the convenience of being able to map your surroundings directly on the 3DS touchscreen. Danny's review of the North American release awarded the game 4 of 5 stars, alternately describing Etrian Odyssey Untold as "an enjoyable nostalgia trip for Etrian Odyssey veterans" and "the best entry point in the series."
Publisher NIS America Europe has yet to reveal a price point for the European release of Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl.

During its UK Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday, Nintendo revealed a Yoshi 3DS XL system – just the hardware, no Yoshi game included – heading to Europe on March 14, Tiny Cartridge points out.
Earlier this month, we caught wind of a Yoshi's New Island 3DS XL bundlerumored to launch on March 14, but a hardware-software collection hasn't been announced just yet. There's no word on a North American launch for the Yoshi system.
Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi confirmed that he is working on a new entry in the series that will shift those games in a new direction. Japan gets aMonster Hunter 4 3DS XL on March 27, this one based on the dual-horned, hairy beast Rajang. That system was announced during Nintendo's Japanese stream of Nintendo Direct.
This whole "three streams for three different regions all at the same time" process is making it tough to keep track of everything, at least if you're a disembodied, global internet person-simulation like us.

Having already conquered Steam, the PlayStation 3 and Vita, Stick It To The Manwill next bring its pink-limbed telekinesis to Nintendo's Wii U.
Developed by Swedish indie studio Zoink!, Stick It To The Man is a puzzle-platformer starring Ray, an unassuming fellow who somehow finds himself with a giant pink arm jutting out of his brain. Thanks to video game logic, Ray can use this inexplicable limb to manipulate the world around him and read other people's thoughts – a helpful attribute given that Ray is framed for a crime by "The Man" and must use his powers to avoid paying for a crime he didn't commit.
Unique to the Wii U incarnation of Stick It To The Man are Gamepad controls. Though we lack an exact description of how this new element functions, Zoink! describes it as an "innovative way of using the GamePad to mindread characters in the game, further separating the mindreading world from Ray's world."
So far no price point has been established for the Wii U version of Stick It To The Man, though with the Steam version at $15 and the PlayStation iterations at $13, it seems likely that the Wii U game will be somewhere in that area.

Nintendo tonight made a number of 3DS announcements - including news it is developing a football management title.
Entitled Nintendo Pocket Football Club, the game lets 3DS owners build their own football team and train up the team using cards. Think of a stripped down, cutesy Football Manager. It is an eShop only game and arrives on April 17th.
Nintendo also revealed that the delay Mario Golf: World Tour is scheduled to hit stores on May 2nd, while Kirby: Triple Deluxe is scheduled for a May 16th launch.
Both follow Yoshi's New Island, which has already been confirmed for a March 14th date, and Nintendo has confirmed the game will launch alongside a special edition version of 3DS XL.
Other dates included new that Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will launch on May 2nd, while Japan-conquering Monster Hunter 4 won't be arriving in Europe until 2015.
There was a slew of a digital announcements, too. Alongside Nintendo Pocket Football Club, Pokemon Link: Battle! – the latest game in the puzzle series – is coming to eShop on March 13th, while a sequel to Steel Diver - named Sub Wars – was also revealed, although not dated.
Meanwhile, fans of Level 5's Guild01 series will be delighted to hear the much requested Weapon Shop de Omasse is coming to Europe on February 20th. To celebrate, all other titles in the series of small, quirky indie games have been reduced on the eShop to just £2.69 for a limited period.

Steel Diver sequel gets free multiplayer as Rusty's Real Deal Baseball lets players "haggle" over cost of DLC
[h=3]Nintendo[/h]nintendo-europe.com
Nintendo is continuing to explore alternative business models, as president Satoru Iwata unveiled its latest experiments with free-to-play functions in the company's latest Nintendo Direct presentation.
Iwata detailed two downloadable 3DS games during the presentation, both of which attempt to monetize players after offering them a core part of the game for free as a trial or demo. First up was Steel Diver: Sub Wars, which was launched on the 3DS eShop immediately following the Nintendo Direct presentation. Described as a "contemplative" first-person shooter that can be enjoyed by those not skilled at fast-paced gameplay, Sub Wars is available as a free trial version with two playable submarines, full access to multiplayer mode, and the introductory portion of the single-player mode. Players who then buy the full game will receive access to a larger array of submarines and the rest of the single-player campaign.
In April, Nintendo will also release Rusty's Real Deal Baseball on the 3DS eShop. A collection of minigames inspired by the great American pastime, Real Deal Baseball will give players a free demo, along with the option of purchasing additional minigame modes for $4 each. However, Nintendo is introducing a new wrinkle to the business model by allowing players to "haggle" with in-game mascot Rusty over the price of these downloadable add-ons. Players can bring the asking price down either by giving Rusty in-game items, or by "listening to his problems [to] improve his mood."
Nintendo has tried out a handful of free-to-play approaches in the past, most notably with Wii Sports Club and Wii Fit U. In Wii Sports Club, players can download the minigames as 24-hour timed trials, after which they can play all the sports for $2 a day or purchase unlimited access to portions of the game on a $10 per sport basis. As for Wii Fit U, Nintendo offered a month-long trial of the downloadable version of the game for free until the end of January, with full access unlocked for those who purchased a $20 Fit Meter as well.

Who's that Pokemon? It's Pokemon X/Y's latest and rarest pocket monster, and if you want to dodge details until the very moment it's available for capture, this graf is your last chance to do so!
Pressing on? Alright - the above sillhouette belongs to Diancie, a rock/fairy type crowned with pink jewels. The Pokemon site explains that Diancie can "create diamonds out of thin air by compressing the carbon in the atmosphere with its hands. It uses these jewels in battle to attack enemies and protect itself."
The Pokemon site also notes that we'll have to "stay tuned" for information on when and how we'll be able to properly capture Diancie, so we'll just have to let it enjoy its final moments of freedom. For now. You can check out Diancie's first turns in battle in the trailer after the break!

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, the latest from Retro Studios, is released this week.
In our Tropical Freeze review we said: "Tropical Freeze is old-fashioned, but it's exquisitely fashioned, too; as long as you're not expecting a genre-shaking masterpiece, you'll find plenty to enjoy."
Reviews have been appearing on other sites too so, as is tradition, we've rounded them up in one easy to digest package. Here's a look at how it's being received:
- Official Nintendo Magazine (Issue 105): 86% Retro's starting to pull the same trick it managed for Metroid - Tropical Freeze draws on decades-old ideas and punches them into excellent new shapes.
- GamesRadar: 4/5 - If you crave a challenge, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will bring out the best of your platforming abilities. Those expecting a cakewalk will feel like they slammed headfirst into a brick wall of difficulty.
- Edge: 7/10 - There's a tactility that was missing from Donkey Kong Country Returns, though Tropical Freeze lacks the physicality of Jungle Beat and its bongo controls, which are still a closer match for the protagonist's abilities. EAD Tokyo captured the ape's brute strength but also the curious grace of his movements, which carried a certain laid-back elegance when strung together. Here he's an unstoppable force, a runaway train whose momentum can be tricky to arrest. During Tropical Freeze's most exacting sequences, you may yearn for Mario's reliability, but the bludgeoning force of Retro's presentation is enough to carry a powerful, if traditional, platformer over the finish line.
- Destructoid: 10/10 - I didn't think it was possible, but Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has topped Returns. It's an incredibly crafted platformer with an HD sheen and an insane attention to detail, and any fan of the genre owes it to themselves to experience it. With the addition of control options to the already proven formula, Retro Studios' rendition of Donkey Kong is pretty much flawless.
- Game Informer: 9.25 - Players accustomed to the eight core worlds of DKC Returns might be surprised that there are only six in Tropical Freeze. Even though there are fewer total levels this time around, the individual stages are longer than an average level from the previous game. In the end, I'd rather have a slightly smaller collection of Retro Studios' best levels than one bloated up with lesser-quality stages in order to hit an arbitrary number. That finely cultivated assortment is exactly what you get with Tropical Freeze.
- IGN: 9.0 - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a great platformer full of tense sequences and tough levels. Boss battles are a huge highlight, and it's packed with hard-to-find secrets and collectibles. Multiplayer could use some improvement, but I found myself laughing whenever my teammate and I wiped out on some of these unforgiving setups. But a rewarding sense of accomplishment stuck with me each time I overcame a new obstacle, and that feeling kept me going all the way to the end.
- Polygon: 8.5 - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze could've easily been a me-too sequel. Its much-loved predecessor reinvigorated the series and did so much with the 2D framework that Retro could've released a bunch of new stages and called it a day. But Tropical Freeze adds intelligently to the formula, with new characters that imbue subtle nuance to the gameplay, a better-tuned challenge level and an increased emphasis on replay value. These features make Tropical Freeze consistently worth coming back to, and mark it as a high point for the series.
- Joystiq: 4.5 - At this point, there's not much written here that couldn't have been repurposed from a review of 2010's Donkey Kong Country Returns - and that's both the problem and the recommendation. Sure, there's swimming in lovely blue waters, a pleasant soundtrack by series composer David Wise and even prettier backgrounds for Retro's ingenious levels, but meaningful growth is kept to a minimum. Such is the blessing and curse of refrigeration.
- Gaming Age: A+ - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze marks another high-quality release for Nintendo on the Wii U, and adds one more reason to pick up the hardware if you haven't already. It's another fantastic platformer delivered with absolute care from developer Retro Studios, and it's another shining gem in the small but impressive line-up for Wii U. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze definitely qualifies as a must-have title for Nintendo fans everywhere.
- Nintendo World Report: 8.5 - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze brought a constant smile to my face, even when I died in a horrific way or had to come to terms with a difficult level. The variation goes deeper than Returns ever did and makes Retro's latest creation shine. While at a glance it may seem that this is just another platformer for the system, I feel that this is a game worth playing and exploring from beginning to end.
- Game Trailers: 9.1 - The evolution of Tropical Freeze from its predecessor isn't quite a giant leap for apekind, but it's a step in the right direction. It doesn't just maintain the status quo as a challenging platformer, but mixes in just enough new elements to prevent it from being just another rehash of the previous game. You'd be bananas to pass up the chance to add Tropical Freeze to your Wii U horde.
- Gamespot: 6/10 - If the regular levels were as inventive as the boss battles, then Tropical Freeze would be a surefire hit, or at least a game that demands more of your attention. No matter how much I was looking forward to seeing DK in HD, it's difficult to maintain that enthusiasm when the end product plays it so safe: even the visuals fail to make an impact. They're nice enough, but like the level design, the environments are mostly bland. While you could argue that the visual style is true to the series, I think even traditionalists wouldn't mind something with a little more pizzazz behind it. As it stands, this a sometimes fun but mostly uninspired and unimaginative entry in the Donkey Kong series.
- Eurogamer: 7/10 - I've played Nintendo games all my life, and while I enjoyed DKC Tropical Freeze, I can't help feeling saddened by it at the same time. DKC is becoming another Nintendo series where quality grows and importance shrinks with each faithful new instalment. Not all Nintendo's franchises have fallen into this pattern, but games like Tropical Freeze make me wonder whether they all eventually will, turning up to be damned by praise that appears fainter with every passing chapter.
- US Gamer: 4.5 - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze isn't the most ambitious game, but it throws its characters into unique and clever challenges with each new level. Nintendo would be pushing it if they went for another Donkey Kong game in this style, but for now, Tropical Freeze can sit alongside Super Mario 3D World as one of the finest platformers of this generation.

Nintendo has detailed this week's European Nintendo eShop update.

Platform holder Nintendo has launched a new YouTube channel called Nintendo Girls Club.
86 years on from women getting equal voting rights in the UK, this fresh move sees the company trying to maintain the success it found with DS and Wii in reaching out to non-traditional markets.
The first video sees Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter – who has been placed in a room replete with girly cushions, girly pastel colours and even some sparkly girly lights on the end of a girly bed – discussing elements of Animal Crossing: New Leaf that Nintendo thinks could appeal to the female market.
Other presenters seen in the videos include Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) and video blogger Mandy Hynes
The Nintendo Girls Club logo contains a crown, presumably because all girls want to be a princess, right?
You can see the full selection here. Below we’ve included Porter’s Animal Crossing video just to prove that even girls can enjoy games nowadays:

Luigi's time in the spotlight will conclude on March 18, when The Year of Luigiofficially comes to a close. The clock's ticking on your "in this, The Year of Luigi" jokes!
The Year of Luigi is Nintendo's marketing campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mario's slender and squeamish brother. The promotion began in early 2013 and heralded the release of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Super Luigi U, a custom 3DS bundle and other Luigi-centric goods.
In the announcement post on Miiverse, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto says The Year of Luigi Community and its Developers' Room will shut down next month, and no new posts will be accepted on Miiverse. "Thanks to everyone's kind support, we were able to release many Luigi games over the course of the year," Miyamoto writes. "I hope everyone continues to cheer for the green brother!"
Regardless of your feelings toward gaming's under-appreciated bro, we can all agree The Year of Luigi was a success and has enriched all of our lives – if only for that time we watched .

Two Namco games previously released on Game Boy Advance have been certified by the Australian Classification Board
Mr Driller 2 and Klonoa: Empire Of Dreams have never been re-released since they originally came to GBA, which suggests these new classifications refer to upcoming re-releases on another system.
Although Namco developed both games, the publisher for each has been listed as Nintendo, meaning they are likely to be among the first batch of third-party GBA games to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console.
Nintendo's Satoru Iwata announced last week that it would be adding Game Boy Advance games to the Wii U's Virtual Console service starting in April.
The first batch of first-party games confirmed include Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 and Metroid Fusion.
"Over time, we will continue to release more titles, so please stay tuned" Iwata added.
Nintendo has yet to confirm whether the 3DS will also receive Game Boy Advance titles through its Virtual Console service.
Ten free GBA games were given to early 3DS adopters as part of Nintendo's 3DS Ambassador Program, but at the time the company said it had no plans to make them available for general sale.

International Trade Commission sides with Mario maker, denies claims from three patent-licensing companies
[h=3]Nintendo[/h]nintendo-europe.com
Nintendo has emerged victorious in yet another patent dispute. The company today announced that the International Trade Commission denied claims from a trio of outfits alleging that the 3DS and DSi infringed on their patents.
Nintendo noted that the three companies--Technology Properties Limited LLC, Phoenix Digital Solutions LLC, and Patriot Scientific Corporation--are all patent-licensing operations, groups that make money licensing their patent portfolios, but don't actually use them to make products.
"We are very pleased with the commission's determination, which confirmed the judge's finding that Nintendo's products do not infringe the asserted patent," said Nintendo of America VP and deputy general counsel Richard Medway. "Nintendo's track record demonstrates that we vigorously defend patent lawsuits, including cases in the ITC, when we believe we have not infringed another party's patent. Nintendo continues to develop unique and innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others."
Nintendo has publicly touted a series of patent suit victories over the past decade, many of them directed at the company's successful DS, Wii, and Wii Fit products. However, the company's track record is not unmarred. Last year it lost a suit over the 3DS brought against it by a former Sony inventor. A jury awarded the inventor $30.2 million in damages, an amount a judge later deemed excessive and cut in half.

Jakks Pacific has partnered with Nintendo to launch the first ever Nintendo licensed Mario Kart ride-on.
Known as the Super Mario Kart Ride-On, the vehicle is the real life counterpart to Mario's kart as seen in the Mario Kart 7 video game.
While it doesn't come with a barrage of Red Shells, Banana Skins or speed-boosting mushrooms, it does feature the full range of sound effects from the popular game.
The ride-on will be available throughout the UK from autumn/winter this year and will sit within Jakks Pacific's portfolio of 6V ride-ons.

Sega Genesis homebrew-turned-modern console release Pier Solar HD has been pushed back to an April launch on all platforms, developer WaterMelonconfirmed this week.
WaterMelon's retro-styled RPG was originally set to launch digitally in March for the PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, PC, Mac, Linux, Android, Ouya and Dreamcast platforms. The project earned over $230,000 in backer pledges when it turned to Kickstarter for funding in 2012.
Ports for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One are also in the works, pending WaterMelon's acceptance into Microsoft's ID@Xbox self-publishing program. WaterMelon studio president Tulio Goncalves additionally hinted at the possibility of a 3DS port in a recent interview with Nintendo Enthusiast, explaining that the Wii U version's second-screen functionality would transfer easily to Nintendo's portable platform.

A supposed scan of a Toys R Us ad indicates a new Pokemon X and Y sale is on the horizon. The ad, courtesy of a GoNintendo tipster, states that new 3DS XL or 2DS buyers who additionally pick up one of six games and register their gear on Club Nintendo in March will receive a download code for Pokemon X or Y.
The six eligible games buyers may be picking from are Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Yoshi's New Island, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Mario Kart 7. As it stands now, there's no confirmation of the deal on either Club Nintendo or Toys R Us' sites. We've reached out to Nintendo for more information and will update as we learn more.

For years, gamers have struggled to reconcile their desire to show their love of a video game franchise and their desire to play golf. Well fret no longer comrades, because the Mario golf bag is here, and it looks ... um, it looks ... well, it certainly is a golf bag. It's got pockets and slots and everything!
Golf players are somewhat known for their interesting choices in fashion, and what better way to complement the loud colors and patterns of players' clothing than with an equally ... uh ... provocative golf bag? A provocative golf bag that will cost you 48,500 yen (about $473) when ordered through the Enjoy! Caddie Bag Store.
In all seriousness, it's not like we haven't seen stranger things, and there's no mistaking this bag for anything else out there. If the greens are where you want to show your love for all things Mario, who are we to judge?

After a lot of laborious work, the first Game Boy Color release of Detective Conan is available in English! This is my first full hack after a few aborted attempts at other games. The game itself is all about text rather than skill, so it took a long time - the hardest part was the translating, as my Japanese isn’t all that great and it takes me a while to get the translation right.
The GBC is an ideal system to do, because while it’s still relatively primitive, it also has huge carts, way bigger than strictly necessary. So nothing in this game was compressed, making my job a whole lot easier.
It’s not the most challenging game out there, but the story is entertaining, especially if you’re familiar with Detective Conan. The quality of dialogue will make or break this translation, so efforts were made to get it sounding as natural and interesting as possible.
Enjoy! And hopefully the second game will come eventually, too!

GCN MemCard Recover is a utility that can recover files from corrupted or reformatted GameCube memory cards.
Usually, when a GCN memory card is corrupted, only the file system or header is unusable. Similarly, when a memory card is formatted, only the file system blocks are erased. The data area is left intact. By searching for specific patterns within the data area, files can usually be recovered.
v0.2
[released 2014/02/08]
Database statistics in this release:
- USA: 83 files
- PAL: 59 files
- JPN: 4 files
- KOR: 0 files
- Unlicensed: 1 file
- Homebrew: 1 file
Changes:
- Stability has been improved. In particular, the custom model for the QTreeView now handles all required signals correctly.
- Some parts of the program now utilize C++ 2011 functionality. A compatibility header has been included for older compilers.
- The toolbar that was formerly located in the "Memory Card" view is now a window toolbar, and contains additional items, such as the "Preferred Region" selection.
- Added preliminary support for displaying scanning progress in the taskbar. Currently, only the D-Bus DockManager protocol is supported. Support for Ubuntu's Unity and Windows 7 will be added later.
- GcImage and Checksum functions have been split out into their own library, libgctools. This library depends on libpng but does not depend on Qt.
- Added support for the Qt translation system. Currently, translations for en_US, en_GB, es_CL, and "1337" are included.
- Fixed some corner cases with full memory card images and certain save files.
- Support for Japanese save files is improved.
- Added preliminary support for compiling with Microsoft Visual C++. The primary distributions will still be compiled with gcc/MinGW.
- Banners and icons can now be exported as image files. Banners and non-animated icons are always exported as PNG. Icons can be exported as APNG, PNG (file per frame), PNG (vertical strip), and PNG (horizontal strip).
- Added "Preferred Region" support. Some games don't have any way to determine the region by simply looking at the description, and in some cases, might be identical in every way other than the region code in the game ID. "Preferred Region" allows you to specify which region you want to prefer in the case that multiple save files in different regions are detected.
- Added support for multiple database files. The included databases are now split by region, e.g. USA, JPN, etc. Homebrew and Unlicensed titles are also contained in their own databases.
- Added a new utility "gcbanner". This utility can extract banner images and icons from GameCube BNR1 and BNR2 opening.bnr files as well as Wii save files (both raw banner.bin and encrypted save files). Animated icons can be extracted to the same formats supported by GCN MemCard Recover's icon extraction function. Banners and static icons are always extracted in PNG format.
- The current directory and block tables can now be switched on the fly. This may allow for easier recovery of files that were deleted in the GameCube file manager, as long as no other files have been saved or updated in the meantime.
- Added a "top-secret" easter egg.

The hack of the WiiU, more or less stalled because of the total lack of interest in fail0verflow team now knows a little jolt that could restart the machine through other hackers. Indeed, it seems that the bootrom.bin file, the hash was publicly revealed by Marcan few weeks after the release of the console has been dumped. This advanced, if it is correct, would represent the first stone for a possible hack of the WiiU, for our greatest pleasure. For now, he will be satisfied with this statement, and a screenshot showing the file in question opened in a hex editor ... The next few weeks are likely to be rich in information and revelations, we will follow it with great interest. It's one small step for man, one giant leap for the wii-u stage. I Can Exclusively Reveal That The first step to a wii-u hack has-been completed & tested & working I have Personally tested the exploit and it is 100% REAL . Despite its eye-catching focus on procreation, the upcoming Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars is a relatively straightforward roleplaying game. For proof, you need look no further than this latest batch of screenshots issued by publisher Atlus.
The gallery below contains eight images, each depicting one of the game's 30 character classes. The Archer is typical roleplaying game fare, but Conception 2also introduces more unique classes. The Diva uses music to aid friends and debuff enemies while also reviving the dead, while the Gun Saint is essentially a high-fantasy paladin, only with a big gun in lieu of a sword.
Conception 2 is slated to debut on the Vita and 3DS handhelds on April 15. More details on the game and its characters can be found at the Conception 2website.

Nintendo has released Wii U system update 4.0.3.
The company says the update makes "further improvements to overall system stability" while "other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience".
In January, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata outlined plans to launch aWii U firmware update that will introduce a new 'fast start-up menu' in "early summer".
Iwata said the 20-or-so seconds it currently takes to start Wii U software "significantly impairs" the console's simplicity of use.
Following this summer's update, users will be able to fast load titles from a new menu of recently played game icons on the Gamepad screen.
Users will tap the game they wish to play, then select the Mii representing their Nintendo account, before the system launches directly into the game, bypassing the main home menu.
"We think that this function will make you feel that the time to start up a Wii U software title is cut by more than 50 percent, and that it will also lead to more Wii U users understanding the appealing nature of the GamePad," said Iwata.

Lego: The Hobbit and its merry band of plastic dwarves are coming to North America on April 8, and Europe on April 11. A Warner Bros. representative confirmed the release dates to Joystiq today, so fans will have a TT Games tie-in of the first two Hobbit films to tide them over before There and Back Again hits bigger screens in December.
The news follows the reveal of a $270 500GB super slim PS3 bundle for the game, but if you'd prefer to join Bilbo and pals on other systems, you're more than in luck. Lego: The Hobbit is also on the way to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, Vita, Wii U, 3DS, Windows PC and Mac.

Publisher: Nintendo Developer: HAL Laboratory Format: 3DS Origin: Japan Release: Out now (Japan), 2014 (EU, US)
The pioneers of 3D cinema revelled in the form’s novelty, keenly demonstrating its possibilities by bombarding audiences with objects that appeared to fly out of the screen. HAL Laboratory’s mascot is a late arrival to 3DS, and it shows: the developer uses similar tricks with unrestrained glee, as if it has only just discovered autostereoscopy.Every level of Triple Deluxe features some kind of 3D effect, often objects or enemies flying from background to foreground. Spiked bars push their way out of your 3DS and railroad tracks carry locomotives that rumble toward your eyes. Giant hands attempt to squash you against the screen, while well-timed special attacks allow you to do the same to enemies. Bosses leap between planes and daub thick splashes of paint across the screen to hide behind. Reach the end of the level and, in a 3D twist on the post-stage cloud jump, a cannon shoots Kirby into the handheld’s depths. It may be a gimmick, but you can’t help but be swept along by the expertise and creative exuberance with which these tricks are employed. It’s one of the few games to truly demand that you move the 3D slider to its maximum setting; 2DS owners are undoubtedly getting a lesser experience.3D effects also help HAL to craft more inventive levels than we’ve become used to in Kirby’s past adventures, with stars carrying the rotund hero between different planes, while mirrored backgrounds reveal invisible enemies and highlight hazards and pitfalls hidden in the foreground. Later on you’ll race a Waddle Dee carrying a key to the end of a platform and grab a star to intercept him before he sprints off the edge.

The latest Japanese chart shows that Nintendo's struggling Wii U has now - finally - sold more than Xbox 360 in the region.Unsure if good news.
Wii U has now sold 1,643,095 units in its home country, compared with Xbox 360's 1,641,528 lifetime to date total.Nintendo's console is currently selling around eight to nine thousand units a week, while Microsoft's console sells a far smaller amount, usually a couple of hundred. But Wii U still has a long way to go to catch up with lifetime sales of the PlayStation 3 (9.8m), and even the PlayStation Vita (2.5m).The star of last week's chart was PlayStation 4, whose launch numbers have already hit headlines. It sold a grand total of 309,154 units during its launch week - a number matched by sales of platformer Knack (a pack-in title in Japan).Sony announced last week that, prior to its Japanese launch, the console had sold more than 5.3 million units worldwide since its launch late last November. That figure will be at least 5.6m - already 600,000 ahead of Sony's target for the end of the financial year.

Nintendo will shut down its ageing Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service on 20th May, bringing to an end the use of online features in a huge range of games.
Wii titles such as Smash Bros. Brawl, Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City and Mario Kart Wii will lose their online multiplayer, matchmaking and leaderboard support.Affected DS games will include Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, Animal Crossing: Wild World and around a dozen Pokémon titles. The full list of games - over 60 in all - are listed on Nintendo's official sites for the UK,Japan, the US and Australia. The free Nintendo Video service for 3DS will also be closed, as of 31st March."As of May 20, 2014, certain online functionality, including online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for many Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games, will no longer be accessible," Nintendo UK spokesperson explained in a statement to Eurogamer. "Users can still play these games in offline mode which continues to offer a rich game-play experience. Other online functionality on Wii and Nintendo DS, such as access to the Wii Shop Channel, the Nintendo DSi Shop and video-on-demand services, are also not affected at this time."Both the Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop will remain open for business, as will the Wii's Internet Channel and YouTube app.The loss of online services for Mario Kart Wii and Smash Bros. Brawl come in the year where sequels to those games are finally released - Nintendo probably wants you to buy those instead.

The Pokemon animated series will be coming to Netflix on March 1, according to The Pokemon Company.
The 48-episode Pokemon Black & White series will be available in all Netflix regions, while the 80-episode Pokemon: Indigo League series will be available in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland.
Two movies - Pokémon The Movie Black: Victini & Reshiram, and Pokémon The Movie White: Victini & Zekrom - will also be available to view in all regions.
Pokemon Black & White is the fourteenth season of the Pokemon animated series. It originally aired in 2010 and was based on the DS game of the same name.
It follows Ash as he explores the new region of Unova. Series regulars Brock and Dawn no longer accompany him, with new trainers called Iris and Cilan replacing them.
For fans who prefer their Pokemon cartoons a little more old-school, Pokemon: Indigo League is the first ever season of the animated series. Originally aired back in 1997 and based loosely on the original Pokemon Red and Blue games, it tells how Ash, along with his friends Misty and Brock, learns how to become a Pokemon master.
The Pokemon Black and White movies were released on the same day in cinemas. Much like the games, both films have similar plots, with things only changing when each film's legendary Pokemon Reshiram and Zekrom appear.

A Hong Kong hedge fund manager is calling on Nintendo to begin developing and selling mobile games with microtransactions.
Oasis Management founder Seth Fischer also suggests the company adopt a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
"Nintendo needs to embrace this thematic change in consumer demand, behaviour and expectations to stay relevant," said Fischer, in a letter obtained by Reuters.
"Just think of paying 99 cents just to get Mario to jump a little higher," Fischer writes in a letter to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.
"We believe Nintendo can create very profitable games based on in-game revenue models with the right development team. The same people who spent hours playing Super Mario, Donkey Kong and The Legend Of Zelda as children are now a demographic whose engagement on the smartphone is valued by the market at well over $100 billion."
Previously, Nintendo has resisted calls to release its games on mobile platforms, despite a number of analysts urging the corporation to make the switch.
In August, Nintendo chief executive Satoru Iwata told CVG that releasing games on mobiles would only represent a short-term fix.
"If I was to take responsibility for the company for just the next one or two years, and if I was not concerned about the long-term future of Nintendo at all, it might make sense for us to provide our important franchises for other platforms, and then we might be able to gain some short-term profit," he said.
"However, I'm really responsible for the long-term future of Nintendo as well, so I would never think about providing our precious resources for other platforms at all."
Earlier in February, Iwata announced that Nintendo would be looking into making a smartphone app that would help promote the company's Wii U and 3DS titles.
"Nintendo would like to establish a firm channel on smart devices through which we can connect with consumers," he said.
"This channel will enable not only us but also third-party publishers to communicate all the fun content on Nintendo platforms to consumers. "

Waluigi has been confirmed as an Assist Trophy in Smash Bros. 4.
Luigi's rival was also an Assist Trophy in the previous game, Super Smash Bros Brawl, making this his second appearance in the series.
Introducing him on the Smash Bros Miiverse forum, the game's producer Masahiro Sakurai also addressed inevitable complaints from Mario fans who wanted Waluigi to be a playable character.
"Once again, Waluigi's Assist Trophy joins the collection, which also means he's not a playable character," he stated. "Just because you try hard doesn't mean you'll make it into the battle."
Assist Trophies are secondary characters who are summoned at random when a player activates an Assist Trophy item.
Brawl featured a total of 27 Assist Trophies, including Waluigi. Punch-Out!! star Little Mac was also an Assist Trophy in Brawl, but he's been promoted to playable character status in the upcoming fourth game.
A number of other new characters will also be making their playable Smash Bros. debuts. This Super Smash Bros trailer revealed Capcom's Mega Man and Animal Crossing's villager will be playable for the first time in the series, while Wii Fit Trainer was confirmed shortly afterwards.
It was also recently announced that Rosalina and Luma from Super Mario Galaxy will also feature for the first time,
Nintendo has also confirmed a number of returning characters since the game's original reveal. These include Diddy Kong, King Dedede, Luigi,Captain Olimar, Sonic, Princess Peach and Toon Link.

Ronimo Games, best known for 2D MOBA Awesomenauts, is making a... wait, this real? Ok, um, Ronimo is totally making Swords and Soldiers 2 as a downloadable game for the Wii U. The original was a WiiWare title launched in 2009 for the original Wii, which eventually marched on to PSN and Steam.
No release date is mentioned for the sequel, but the studio plans to show the game behind closed doors at March's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco and then have it "publicly playable" at April's sold-out PAX East in Boston.
