Just Dance 2020 launched yesterday for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and, remarkably, Nintendo's two-generation-old console the Wii. And it marks the last time an Ubisoft game will do so.
In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, Ubisoft confirmed that it was done with the Wii:
"We would like to clarify that Just Dance 2020 will be the last Ubisoft title to release on Wii. We can't speak on behalf of other publishers or for Nintendo."

Luigi's Mansion 3 has eclipsed The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Super Mario Maker 2 to become the fastest-selling physical Switch game of 2019.
It performed this feat in part because it was on sale for 24 hours longer than either of those other two titles, as Nintendo released the ghost-hunting adventure on Halloween, which was a Thursday rather than the usual Friday.
It may still come as a surprise that a Luigi-fronted game performed ahead of Zelda and Mario, but Nintendo had a lot of faith that this could be a significant release for Switch. The title received headline billing during E3 this year, and the last game in the franchise (Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS) sold 5.5 million copies worldwide.
Physical launch sales of Luigi's Mansion 3 are actually 140% higher than its predecessor (released way back in March 2013), and that doesn't include digital sales (Nintendo does not share digital figures and digital is not included in this chart).
Don't expect Luigi to hold this record for long though, with Pok?mon Sword and Shield set to arrive later this month.
Luigi's Mansion 3 was the best-selling new game this week, but it had to settle for No.2 because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remains at the top by quite a large margin. It's actually an impressive second week for the shooter, with sales down just 49% from its launch week.
The only other new game in the chart this week is the Disney double-pack featuring the classic Aladdin and The Lion King platformers. The nostalgic set debuts at No.12 and was published by Nighthawk Interactive. It sold best on Switch (representing 48% of sales), followed by PS4 (38%) and then Xbox One (14%). As before, this is just the physical data.
The rest of the chart is made up of familiar names. At No.3 is FIFA 20, which has now surpassed 1m sales in physical form. And Mario Kart 8: Deluxe continues to be the game of choice for new Switch owners at No.4.
In terms of last week's new games, The Outer Worlds by Private Division (Take-Two) and Obsidian is at No.5. The game drops one place in its second week with a 60% fall in sales. Medievil on PS4 goes from No.5 to No.10 with a 64% sales drop, while WWE 2K20 plummets 81% and goes from No.3 to No.14. The 2K wrestling title has suffered negative PR due to a plethora of bugs and faults in the game.
A recent release that is proving surprisingly robust is Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The EA game has only been out three weeks and it's sold more in its third week than it did in its first. The title has actually been popular as a digital release according to the GSD digital charts.

Amazon is clamping down on the number of sellers offering Nintendo products through its marketplace.
An email shared via the Amazon seller's forum reveals that anyone listing items produced by the platform holder now need the company's approval before they can continue with these transactions.
"If you do not obtain approval to see these products prior to 2019-10-31, your listings for these products will be removed," the email reads.
Amazon notes this is "part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience," although it's not clear whether this decision has been made by Amazon, Nintendo or both. GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Nintendo for clarification.
The retailer has contacted all sellers that have previously sold affected products, but assured that "there is no penalty associated with the action."

Nintendo's latest financial results show growth across the board, boosted in part by the launch of the Switch Lite.
For the six months ended September 30, 2019, the company reported net sales of ?443.97 billion ($4.1 billion), a year-on-year increase of 14.2%.
Profits saw bigger boosts with operating profit rising by 53.4% to ?94.2 billion ($869.1 million), and ordinary profit up 32.1% to ?91.9 billion ($847.8 million).
Total hardware sales reached 6.93 million units during the six-month period, up 36.7% when compared to the year before. Naturally the bulk of this was driven by the regular model of the Switch, which sold 4.98 million units, but the new Switch lite managed to shift 1.95 million units -- despite only launching 11 days before the end of the fiscal half.
This brings the lifetime sales for Switch up to 41.67 million units, with 246.01 million games sold.
Software sales for H1 reached 58.49 million units (up 38.8% year-on-year), with all three of Nintendo's major new releases selling more than two million units apiece.
Super Mario Maker 2 was the leader with 3.93 million units, but Link's Awakening wasn't too far behind with 3.13 million -- all the more impressive given the former was released in June and the latter was released on September 20.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses also performed well at 2.29 million units, although this was less than the 2.32 million that evergreen hit Mario Kart 8 Deluxe managed.
Nintendo reports the number of Switch titles to pass one million sales during the financial year, including third-party games, is now up to 11.
The platform holder also reports digital sales of ?71.6 billion ($660.6 million), up 83% year-on-year. This was attributed to the "steady growth in sales" for downloadable games, plus Nintendo Online Subscriptions.
There was a rare insight into the company's mobile business, with revenues from its smartphone titles reported as ?19.9 billion ($183.6 million) for the six moths -- an increase of 6.4% year-on-year. Nintendo did not detail how this was split between previously released titles and new releases Mario Kart Tour and Dr Mario World.

Here?s a rare occurrence; a translation for an FDS game with a fair bit of text. It is complete and should be issue-free for your enjoyment and curiosity of this piece of video game history.
The project began several years ago as a side project and morphed into the kind of project that had the hacker, Pennywise, questioning why he was putting himself through such agony. Ultimately he was able to see the project through thanks to the help of several translators along the way.
Dead Zone is an early text adventure released way back in 1986 and is one of the first of its kind on Nintendo consoles. It?s a short game that can be completed probably in less than an hour, it has plenty of humor sprinkled throughout and it even has a nice little mini game to mix things up.
Like most old school games, the game itself gives you no backstory or context at the start of the game, but we?ve included some story translation from the manual in the readme to fill you in.
That said, if anyone good with photoshop wants to help make an English manual, that would be appreciated. Most of the manual is already translated to begin with, so it wouldn?t be hard for us

What may seem just a small point release at first can instead turn out to be bigger than expected: @Nanquitas and @PabloMK7's BootNTR has been updated to v2.13.1, introducing three notable features in the process! For starters, support has been added for the newly released 3DS firmware 11.12.0, which came out just a few days ago and broke NTR due to some internal differences. Speaking of NTR, the CFW has also received a small update going from 3.6 to 3.6.1, as it now uses a slightly faster way to access memory for screen streaming purposes on New 3DS consoles.
And yet, I've saved the best for last. Back when Luma 10 had first been released in late June of the current year, we advised NTR users against upgrading as the new version broke some of the latter CFW's functionalities, like game plugins and potentially other minor features. However, BootNTR Selector v2.13.1 has finally solved these issues and now sports Luma 10.0.x compatibility: this means you can now update safely and enjoy both Luma 10's improvements and NTR's various features without worrying about incompatibilities and broken functions!
...But there's just a small exception: some users have reported Mode 3 builds being broken on Old 2/3DS consoles. As such, if you own an Old 2/3DS and you wish to use NTR together with extended memory titles (for example, 7th gen Pok?mon games and Super Smash Bros. 3DS) it's still best to wait until the issue gets investigated further. On the other hand, non-Mode3 builds are working correctly for both types of consoles, so upgrading is recommended if you own a New 2/3DS (as you won't need the Mode3 build at all) or an Old 2/3DS but you do not care about using NTR in extended memory games.
Quoted from changelog: Changelog
- Added 11.12 support.
- Added Luma3DS v10.0.1 support.
- Updated NTR v3.6 to v3.6.1.
NTR v3.6.1 Changelog
- Small improvement in the N3DS streaming code. (Uses Luma3DS PA -> VA memory mapping instead of DMA)

BootNTR Selector's GitHub repo and releases page are both linked below. You can also find a link there to its official GBAtemp thread, which you can use to both read more about the project and get help with troubleshooting.

Have you ever thought about hooking up another console's controller to your Switch but you don't fancy either carrying around a USB adapter dongle or running an app on another device for hid-mitm? Look no further then, as sys-con is here to save the day!
Sys-con is a custom Switch sysmodule that allows you to use third-party controllers on your Nintendo Switch. Unlike the other previously mentioned homebrew solution, which, as the name suggests, worked by MITMing Horizon OS' built-in hid module, sys-con just needs you to connect your controllers using your Dock's USB ports: no Wi-Fi connection or external applications required. Not only this will result in less input latency (and, of course, a much simpler setup) but it also means the sysmodule won't conflict with Atmosph?re 0.9.4's libnx input workaround, making it fully compatible with the CFW's latest version!
There are, however, a few limitations. First off, as hinted before, sys-con only works in Docked mode. The sysmodule is also only compatible with DualShock 3, Xbox 360 (wired, the wireless dongle reportedly doesn't work) and Xbox One controllers, with DualShock 4 support coming soon. Lastly, rumble and motion controls do not work at the moment.
Sys-con has been developed by @cathery and can be downloaded by clicking the download link below. It officially supports Atmosph?re and will work on FW 5.0.0 and up (warning: crashes or freezes may happen on 9.0.X due to high memory usage). You can install it by extracting the release's contents on your microSD card, overwriting if necessary, and then rebooting your console. For more information on upcoming features, troubleshooting and developer support, head over to the project's GitHub repo (also linked below).

It's stability time! A brand new update is out, for the Nintendo 3DS. Firmware version 11.12.0-44 has just released, bringing with it...well, no one knows exactly what it brings with it just yet. The yls8 page shows the update having gone out for most regions tonight, but Nintendo's official website hasn't updated to show the changelog (and obvious stability additions) as of the time of writing. What we do currently know is, a handful of titles have been updated thanks to this new firmware, including NVer, CVer, StreetPass, friends system-module, NATIVE_FIRM and Web browser data. More information will be added as things become more clear.
UPDATE: And to no one's surprise, here are the patch notes from Nintendo:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Currently, Luma still boots, but is not confirmed to be 100% working, while other homebrew and CFW are being tested.

The Nintendo 3DS homebrew scene is still alive and kicking, with a new and very useful project by the simple name of custom-install. This tool allows you to take a .cia backup file, and install it to an SD card, removing the hassle of installing your games through the normally slow process on the 3DS itself. The process to get it up and running can be viewed below, straight from the project's GitHub page, along with the GBAtemp discussion topic.
Summary
- Dump boot9.bin and movable.sed from a 3DS system.
- Install pycryptodomex:
- Windows: py -3 -m pip install --user --upgrade pycryptodomex
- macOS/Linux: python3 -m pip install --user --upgrade pycryptodomex
- Download the repo (zip link or git clone)
- Run custom-install.py with boot9.bin, movable.sed, path to the SD root, and CIA files to install (see Usage section).
- Download and use custom-install-finalize on the 3DS system to finish the install.
Setup
Linux users must build wwylele/save3ds and place save3ds_fuse in bin/linux.
movable.sed is required and can be provided with -m or --movable.
boot9 is needed:
- -b or --boot9 argument (if set)
- BOOT9_PATH environment variable (if set)
- %APPDATA%\3ds\boot9.bin (Windows-specific)
- ~/Library/Application Support/3ds/boot9.bin (macOS-specific)
- ~/.3ds/boot9.bin
- ~/3ds/boot9.bin
A SeedDB is needed for newer games (2015+) that use seeds.
SeedDB is checked in order of:
- --seeddb argument (if set)
- SEEDDB_PATH environment variable (if set)
- %APPDATA%\3ds\seeddb.bin (Windows-specific)
- ~/Library/Application Support/3ds/seeddb.bin (macOS-specific)
- ~/.3ds/seeddb.bin
- ~/3ds/seeddb.bin
Usage
Use -h to view arguments.
Examples:
py -3 custom-install.py -b boot9.bin -m movable.sed --sd E:\ file.cia file2.cia
python3 custom-install.py -b boot9.bin -m movable.sed --sd /Volumes/GM9SD file.cia file2.cia
python3 custom-install.py -b boot9.bin -m movable.sed --sd /media/GM9SD file.cia file2.cia

2 days ago, Cathery released Sys-con for the Switch which is a sysmodule (plugin in Sony jargon) which lets you use wired DualShock 3, XBOX 360 and XBOX One controllers with your console for a better gaming experience.
Until yesterday, it was thought that Sys-con only works in docked mode but then user reports came in showing that it worked in handheld mode as well which prompted Cathery to update the project?s roadmap to officially include handheld support.
Other than the good news about handheld mode, Cathery has released Sys-con 0.3.0 which is a noteworthy update that brings:
- A configuration folder (sdmc:/config/sys-con/) from which you can modify stick/trigger deadzones and remap inputs thus giving you more control over your experience
- Xbox 360 and Dualshock 3 LEDs no longer blink when using this sysmodule
- An issue in which some Microsoft controllers weren?t connecting properly has been fixed
- Support for other CFWs like ReiNX and SX OS is now officially acknowledged
Furthermore, some more good news dropped hours ago and that is a promise of DualShock 4 support in 5-6 days published on Ko-fi.
To grab Sys-con 0.3.0, follow this link and check out the README before installing it. You may donate to Cathery on Ko-fi for her work.

Other than being a gaming console, the Nintendo Switch is also a small tablet even though Nintendo doesn?t really embrace that side of it since they didn?t pack in a web browser, eBook reader or even a music player! However, the homebrew community is all about making consoles more useful and as a result, a developer by the name of SeanOMik decided to create an eBook reader for the console (i.e. Horizon OS) and appropriately named it ?eBookReader? when it was released this September. The homebrew also has some useful features including landscape/portrait support, dark mode and the ability to save the page you were on.
Now, eBookReader 0.3.0 has been released and it comes with:
- Improved PDF support so the likelihood of the homebrew crashing when opening certain PDFs is lower
- Full support for ePub, CBZ (many comics/manga are in this format) and XPS files meaning that some very popular formats are now supported
- The above was achieved thanks to work by Moronigranja
To grab eBookReader 0.3.0 and turn your Switch into a Kindle, follow this link to grab the NRO.

Hey all!
It's been a while since I started working and playing around with homebrew replacing HOME menu in February. After several months of RE, new approaches and a lot of work, I'm glad to present the result of all my work related to HOME menu + homebrew:
uLaunch is a custom, open-source replacement/reimplementation for Nintendo Switch's HOME menu (qlaunch), extending it with amazing, homebrew-orienteed functionality!
uLaunch is a very ambitious project, consisting on two custom library applets, a custom system application and a custom system applet, in order to replace the console's HOME menu with a custom, homebrew-orienteed one.
Are you looking for help with themes? Check this documentation for everything you need!
Having trouble with uLaunch? Check the FAQ section for support!
Features
List of HOME menu features uLaunch has:
- Proper launching and foreground management: launch, suspend and close titles and applets
- Proper general channel handling (some of it might be not implemented): sleep, shutdown, reboot, HOME menu press detection...
- Settings:
- Show connected WiFi network's name
- Open connection applet in case user wants to change network settings
- Change console's language and show active one
- Change console's nickname and show current one
- User features:
- Allow creating user on the startup menu
- Show user's page (in order to edit nickname, icon, friends...)
List of not (yet) implemented HOME menu features:
- Controller managing
- Album
- Periodical play report sending (so long, telemetry!)
This is the amount of features uLaunch contains, compared to the original HOME menu:
- Homebrew support
- Launching as applets (no need of Album!)
- Launching as applications (no need of any titles to do so!)
- Custom basic homebrew menu
- Option to add custom NRO accessors to main menu (homebrew or custom items easily accessible, no more need of forwarders!)
- UI
- Themes (different to official HOME menu themes/NXThemes)
- Custom icons, menu assets and graphics (custom images, colors, sizes, positions...), background...
- Custom background music and sound effects!
- Folders in order to keep your main menu organized!
- Users
- PC-like login on startup (select user and use it for everything, log off, register/change/remove password...)
- User password support! (up to 15 characters)
- Miscellaneous extras
- Web browsing (via web-applet) directly from the main menu!
- Foreground capturing from PC itself (Windows-only) via USB-C cable and QForegroundViewer!
Disclaimer
Homebrew-as-application 'flog' takeover
uLaunch allows you to launch homebrew as an application, taking advantage of the system's 'flog' built-in application title, which was stubbed but not removed, thus it's content can be overriden via LayeredFS and launched.
Since launching this title should be impossible, it might involve ban risk. uLaunch has this option disabled by default, so enable and use it use it at your own risk. Always make youre you're safe from bans (by using tools like 90DNS) before using uLaunch to avoid any possible risks.
For more detailed information (too much to be put here), check GitHub's README: https://github.com/XorTroll/uLaunch
IMPORTANT! Note that this is the first release of the project, and while it was made to be as stable and complete as possible, it is far from being fully ready, so expect some unimplemented functionality or sudden bugs or small issues.
Themes
You can check my Discord ( https://discord.gg/3KpFyaH) for an active theme submissions channel.
Download it from here: https://github.com/XorTroll/uLaunch/releases
This project has taken me a lot of work, hope you enjoy a custom, brand-new HOME menu!

ub3r1337 recently meet with TX to have them demo to him their upcoming new mods for the Switch (patched, mariko and lite). Unfortunately, he didn't get any pictures, but he says they'll be coming later on. Even so, he shared some of this new information at MaxConsole, also shown below: First Off: It is a hardware mod. TX went back to its roots, and this solution is a device you need to install inside your Switch.
From what we could tell the install looks ultra simple and almost plug and play. When pushed about the install requirements, TX held back from claiming its fully solder-less, stating clearly that this particular design will always benefit from a few simple solder connections, versus the original intent of fully solder-less (at least for the classic model which is the unit we got to inspect).
In other words, a fully solder-less install is potentially possible with the classic models however it is not recommended by TX due to long term reliability concerns (we will cover this more in-depth at a later date, once we have our preview unit in our hands and put it thru some tests)
Second Point: There is one device for Patched and Mariko unit which is probably under production (see point three) and should be available soon They plan to release 2 devices; one for all classic versions (original, patch and mariko) and one for the Switch Lite.
Third Point: I really pushed for a release date, but TX refused to confirm anything during our meeting. From what I understood, even though it seems to be currently under production, because all sorts of things can occur in the factory during production, they will not commit to a date to me or their resellers until they are certain they can deliver on time enough stock to meet the demand.
I guess I can only respect that, this is probably why they did not announce anything yet, and we should know more once it is finally officially announced on their TX website.
At some point ub3r1337 hopes to get some pictures and videos from TX and a review unit, but we have no clue when that will happen. For now we just have to sit and wait for some more news regarding these new TX hardware mods to appear online!

Pokémon Sword and Shield are finally here, and quite fittingly for the variation's monikers this time around, their arrival has come with conflict.
Sword and Shield comprise the first mainline entries in the long-running series to debut on a home console (settle down, "Switch is actually a handheld/console hybrid" pedants), and as such there are elevated (and differing) expectations around it. Some players have been upset that it lacks the "National Pokédex" that let users import hundreds of Pokémon from previous games into new installments during the franchise's run as a portable exclusive franchise. Others simply expected the series to take a larger leap forward. Plenty of others seem perfectly happy with what Sword and Shield are offering.
Those varying expectations can be seen reflected in the first wave of reviews. In her 9.3 out of 10 review for IGN, Casey DeFreitas seems perfectly pleased with how the game turned out.
"With every new game in this 23-year-old series, changes big and small are always made, but I've never been willing to declare the latest entry the new gold standard for Pokémon because they've consistently been a balance of better and worse," DeFreitas said. "But the first mainline game on the Switch has changed that: though there is still no 'perfect Pokémon game,' the 40-plus hours I've spent with Sword and Shield have left me comfortable with calling them the best Pokémon games I have ever played - and I've played 'em all."

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa expects "remarkable results" from Mario Kart Tour, based on its performance since it launched last month.
Speaking to the company's investors, Furukawa said that Mario Kart's mobile debut has "has gotten off to a very good start, even compared to our previous mobile applications."
He added: "Continuing on from Super Mario Run, which more than 300 million consumers are enjoying, I think we can expect remarkable results from Mario Kart Tour."
Furukawa did not specify whether these "remarkable results" will be evident in both revenue and downloads, but Nintendo is on record stating its disappointment in the money it made from Super Mario Run.
According to Furukawa, Mario Kart Tour's "earnings are off to a good start," due to a combination of "randomised items" and the "Gold Pass subscription." He also stated his belief that multiplayer will "make it an attractive application that will be enjoyed by consumers in the long-term."

Pokémon fans have made #ThankYouGameFreak trend worldwide ahead of the launch of the new Nintendo Switch games, Pokémon Sword and Shield.
The unofficial hashtag campaign is designed to counter-act some of the negativity that has come Game Freak's way surrounding criticism of the upcoming game. Some fans have felt dismayed by what is a perceived lack of innovation in the new title, plus the news that hundreds of classic Pokémon will not be included in this new title. A recently leak around the title has exacerbated the issue.
The firm has since cancelled its launch event for the game in Tokyo, citing 'operational reasons'.

This is a player sprite hack of Adventure Island 3 for the NES. This hack changes Master Higgins’ player sprites into his girlfriend Tina. There are 2 patches for each region release: US and JP.
Unsurprisingly, Adventure Island 3’s sprite structure is similar to Adventure Island 2, but with new gameplay features, like the player can now duck down, a surfboard bonus game, a boomerang weapon - can be thrown upward, and an additional dinosaur - a triceratops named Poley, it does a rolling attack and does not sink in quicksand.
The US patch is compatible with the current level hacks for the game, but you have to play it on a specific emulator, like VirtuaNES.

The devs promised an update shortly after the new games' release and they have kept their word! PKHeX now sports experimental support for the latest Pokémon titles on the Nintendo Switch, Sword and Shield: not only all your usual Pokémon genning and modification functions are in, but Pokédex, Item and Trainer Info editing are there as well. An initial legality checker for 8th gen species is also included!
People who have already messed around with their Pokémon likely need no introduction to PKHeX, however, if it's the first time you hear about it, this tool can be described as a PC based general-purpose save editor for the series' games. All mainline titles are supported, from Gen I all the way to VIII, including LGPE. Its usage is simple: you only need to obtain your game's save file (emulators and consoles are both supported, you will need to use a dumper if playing on the former) and open it in the program, then you'll be greeted with a UI that can be described as an amped-up Pokémon Storage Box. After that, the sky is the limit: you can either modify your own creatures or generate new ones from thin air! You can also export your Pokémon as individual files that can be shared to other users and get re-imported later, making PKHeX also a sort of free homebrew bank, transfer and cloning service. And, as hinted before, it doesn't stop there: many more features are also available, such as legality checking, bag editing as well as other game-specific ones (ribbon editing, mystery gift injection and so on)!
Other minor improvements for earlier games have also been added. Here are the official release notes:
Quoted from release notes: 19/11/15 - New Update:
- Introducing Sword/Shield support! Thanks @SciresM and @sora10pls for troubleshooting prior to release!
- - Initial Legality Checking is provided. Please refer to the forums when reporting legality issues for Generation 8 parsing.
- - Bag editing, Pokédex, and Trainer Info editing is provided.
- Changed: PKHeX.Core.dll is now merged in with the main executable.
- Changed: PKHeX.WinForms spriting has now been split into a separate project. On build, it is merged into the main executable.
- Changed: .NET Core 3 support added for WinForms builds. .NET Framework 4.6 build is still the main build option.
- Changed: Project internals now use C# language version 8, the latest. Nullable compiler checks enabled for PKHeX.Core.
- Removed: Mono build no longer required due to font loading rework. No platform specific code remains!
- Changed: Slot grids are now generated instead of manually created. Party and Battle Box now appear differently.
- Changed: Encounter Slot generators now use game-specific logic to yield slots.
- Fixed: Gen6 Fashion for females now exposes the remaining fields.
- Fixed: Legality parsing for misc things fixed. Thanks @Rayqo, @steph9009, @iiippppk!
- Fixed: Mystery Gift received flags are now set correctly. Thanks tsubasa830!
- Fixed: Loading box data binaries now applies it to the current box. Thanks @PKMWM1!
- Fixed: Gen4 Poketch now behaves correctly in the editor, no longer deleting itself.
However, as it's been said from the get-go, keep in mind Sword/Shield support should be considered experimental for the time being. Even if PKHeX offers automatic backups, it's always a good idea to make your own if you care about your save file - so it should be twice as important to keep an original, unedited copy somewhere when even the devs tell you there may be unexpected results. Be sure to warn them if anything's not right: reporting issues on their GitHub repo (linked below) is encouraged!
Keep your game progress safe - one pre-emptive backup can solve a million headaches later!

CleanRip is a Gamecube and Wii optical disc backup tool for the Nintendo Wii.
The "Clean" in CleanRip comes from the fact that this tool does not require nor utilize any custom IOS (cIOS). It simply requires that you have the latest Homebrew Channel (HBC) installed. Also, if it finds that IOS58 is installed, you will be able to rip discs at USB 2.0 speeds.

Libbet and the Magic Floor is a puzzle game for Game Boy by Damian Yerrick. The game is open source!
One day, Libbet was rearranging her basement when she discovered a passage to an empty hall whose floor had a peculiar pattern. She rolled in to investigate.
The floor tiles have four shades. Libbet can roll or jump between tiles of the same shade. She can also roll or jump onto the next brighter shade or from white to black, which leaves a track. Tiles with no exits contain a trap door that leads to the entrance. Leave 90 percent of possible tracks and roll to the exit to win.
This is a port of Martin Korth‘s game Magic Floor to the Game Boy compact video game system, introducing Libbet the boulder girl.

Around two weeks ago, GaryOPA wrote a post on his website MaxConsole and on the frontpage of GBATemp that Team Xecuter had been able to hack newer Switch units (ipatched & mariko) and the Switch Lite.
However, this revelation still has no tangible proof associated with it other than the words of a Team Xecuter trusted reseller so its credibility is in a grey-area even though a GBATemp administrator received confirmation from SX Team that their hack is indeed real.
Now, more information has been made available (GBATemp/MaxConsoles) regarding this relevation/rumour but this time it’s from MaxConsole News Team member ‘ub3r1337’ and it states that Team Xecuter’s upcoming hack comes in the form of a hardware mod with two variants being available, one for Classic units (original, ipatched and mariko) and another for the Switch Lite. Furthermore, some important points about the nature of the hardware mod were revealed which include:
- The hardware mod needs to be installed on the Switch’s motherboard and indications are showing that some degree of soldering will be required. Some websites like DG Chips are already taking pre-orders for the upcoming hardware mod meaning that a release might not be too far off
- However, Team Xecuter ‘held back from claiming [that] it’s fully solder-less’ meaning that the hardware mod for Classic units might allow for a solder-less installation although this is said not to be recommended
- According to ub3r1337, the Classic variant of the hardware mod is ‘probably under production and should be available soon’ meaning that Team Xecuter might come up with an official announcement in the coming weeks
- When it comes to an ETA, Team Xecuter refused to give an estimate although GBATemp user ‘Diogo097’ contacted a TX reseller who claimed that the hardware mod should be released by January 2020
- Some resellers including DGChips and MOD3DSCard are already taking pre-orders for the hardware mod lending a somewhat higher degree of credibility to the whole story
Like the initial revelation, it must be noted that no tangible proof of the hack or hardware mod are currently available. Unfortunately, ub3r1337 wasn’t allowed to take any pictures or videos so until now, it’s still recommended to treat this news item with caution and still view it as a RUMOUR.

Recently, it’s become quite a common occurrence that when a Switch game is released, it can already boot and get in-game on emulators for the console.
The latest games in this trend are Pokémon Sword and Shield, two games released yesterday, which are in-game on both Yuzu and Ryujinx with much better results in the former as it’s seeing much more development going into it. According to a tweet by Yuzu’s team, the game gets in-game and seems to be rendering pretty well but a few bugs need to be fixed before the title is fully playable. However, this hasn’t detracted people from trying it on their own machine and by YouTube channel ‘Danzel SH’ shows promising results, especially in battles, on an i5-8400 with a GTX 1060 3GB VRAM!
Other than showing promising results when emulated, these games already earned save editing support thanks to an update to PKHeX which was made possible thanks to help by SciresM and sora10pls. In the most recent 19/11/15 release, the following features are supported for Sword/Shield:
- Initial Legality Checking – this is still experimental
- Bag Editing
- Pokédex Editing
- Trainer Info Editing
Other than support for the Sword/Shield games, the latest release also received numerous bug fixes and .NET Core 3 support in WinForms builds so it’s still recommended you update if you use it for editing the save files of other games.
To grab the latest version of PKHeX and make the Pokemon Sword/Shield a tad easier, check out this link. To use modded save files, your Switch obviously needs to be hacked!

Nintendo Switch console sales have jumped in the UK as Pokémon Sword and Shield become the fastest-selling Switch game so far.
Retail data shared with GamesIndustry.biz states that Switch hardware sales rose more than 30% during the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield. The spike also coincides with increased retail activity around Switch consoles, with hardware sales spiking 75% the week previously. Overall, almost 90,000 Switch machines have been sold in the UK so far this month.
Interestingly, it isn't the new special edition Pokémon Sword and Shield Switch Lite that is driving sales, but actually the 'normal' Switch console with the improved battery life.

In many regards, the problem that developers of Pokémon games face is one that other developers would give their right arm for. They are working on a franchise that has done a remarkable job of holding its audience and its cultural relevance for decades, mixing a slow and careful evolution of the core games with more bold moves in other media and companion games (the most notable, of course, being Pokémon Go) in a way that has effectively retained older players while continually bringing younger players into the fold.
That's a remarkable legacy, but it does create challenges of its own -- not least of them being, with a major series overhaul like Pokémon Sword and Shield, the question of how to ensure the series meets the demands of those very disparate audiences, from adults who first played Pokémon in the '90s to tweens who'll encounter it for the first time with this game."All those people who have played Pokémon games since the '90s have grown up and gone in different directions in terms of their tastes"
What makes this particularly tricky is that we're not talking about a binary split in the audience between adults and kids. That rather misleading over-simplification has done the rounds over the past week, as a small but vocal group of adult fans have taken issue with a number of perceived issues with the new games, from complaints about graphical fidelity to annoyance at the decision to prune back the increasingly long list of creatures which has grown with each game in the series to date. These supposed flaws and others are occasionally blamed upon, or explained away by, the primary focus of the series being children -- with Nintendo and developer Game Freak thus deprioritising things that the adult audience finds important.
That's not entirely the case, though, because the reality is that the "adult audience" for a game like this is not one monolithic group. The real complexity, and challenge, lies in the fact that there are many different and diverse audiences encompassed in that simplistic term, because all those people who have played Pokémon games since the '90s have grown up and gone in quite different directions in terms of their tastes, preferences and gaming habits.
Some of them, perhaps even most, are fairly casually engaged with games overall, don't play many console games and will buy a new Pokémon title for a nostalgia hit - or perhaps even to introduce their own kids to the franchise. Some are just core fans of the franchise who buy each installment and make it a key part of their gaming identity; and others still have migrated into 'core' gaming (with all that entails) while still wanting to engage with Pokémon for nostalgia, or to revisit the formative role it played in their interests. There's a wide and varied spectrum between all of those points, with many players falling in every imaginable position along it.

It's time once again for a brand new Cemu update! The newly released version of the popular Wii U emulator, 1.15.19 to be precise, introduces some rather interesting account management-related features. Accounts behave very much like on a real Wii U, and that means they will each have separate save files for every game: a feature that can prove to be useful if you wish to have multiple saves in a game that doesn't provide different slots or if you share your computer with other people. A new tab has been added to the emulator's "General settings" window where you can create, edit, delete and switch between different accounts, however, if you think getting into the settings every time to change the active user profile is tedious, a sub-menu that lets you do just that in a much quicker way has also been added in the "Options" menu. On a last note, this system is compatible with accounts created on a physical Wii U console too, so you can also dump and use them in Cemu if you wish to do so!
As usual, a couple of minor bug fixes have been included as well. You can read more about them in the official changelog:
Quoted from Official changelog: # Cemu detailed changelog for 1.15.19
# Patreon release date: 2019-11-15
# Public release date: 2019-11-22
general: Added account management
- You can create and delete accounts in the general settings
- The currently selected account can be changed in the settings or via a shortcut in the menu
- Each account has separate save files
- Compatible with accounts dumped from a Wii U
general: Game list entries can now be renamed (#208)
general: Fixed a bug where game list entries would not be remembered if Cemu was closed right after refreshing the list
RPL: Fixed a rare memory corruption that could lead to crashes when any game was launched
Note:
(#xx) refers to bug tracker issues resolved by this change. See http://bugs.cemu.info/projects/cemu/

The latest entry to the Pokémon franchise has taken up three spots in the top ten of the EMEAA charts this week.
Despite Nintendo not reporting digital sales figures, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are No. 1 and No. 3 respesctively, while a special pack including both games ranks at No. 9.
Yesterday The Pokémon Company revealed that Pokéon Sword and Shield have becoming the fastest-selling games to date on the Switch, shifting six million units during the first week.
Meanwhile, combined digital and retail sales saw Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arrived at No. 2 this week.
Record-breaking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been knocked off the top spot after just one week, and currently sits at No. 4.
FIFA 20 still enjoys a solid position in the charts over a month since launch, ranking at No. 5 while Death Stranding has fallen from an opening week position of No. 2 to No. 6 this week.
Grand Theft Auto V is the only game not released within the last two months to appear in the charts, down a few spots from the week prior, to rank No. 10.

Like the PlayStation 1, the Sega Saturn is around 25 years old but while the former can be emulated on pretty much anything with decent results including the New 3DS, the Saturn didn’t fare as well when it comes to emulation.
The reasons behind this are numerous although the main two are because of the system’s architectural complexity and lack of interest from developers since the console was nowhere as popular as its rivals from Sony or Nintendo.
However, some development on creating the definitive emulator for the console is still ongoing and it’s mostly centered around Yaba Sanshiro (uoYabause) which has now earned a Switch port with a twist thanks to its main developer devMiyax. Contrary to other emulators, this port doesn’t run in Horizon OS and it isn’t available as a RetroArch core for Lakka either but it comes as a stripped-down Linux distribution, based on Lakka, that you flash on an SD Card.
With this port, you can play titles like NiGHTs on your Switch!
As per comments from Reddit user ‘R3tro-PK’, this port works much better than the Yaba Sanshiro cores on Lakka/Horizon OS and from some testing, the following titles are playable at full-speed:
- Burning Rangers
- This title is pretty demanding
- Nights into Dreams
- Sonic R
To grab this port of Yaba Sanshiro and play some Saturn games on your Switch, follow this link which also contains donation links. It must be noted that the image provided has numerous known issues such as sleep not working and not being able to change the volume so don’t expect a flawless experience. Obviously, not all titles supported by Yaba Sanshiro will run at full-speed. Thankfully, the source code is available so we might see some fixes eventually.

Moving to the Nintendo 3DS scene, two noteworthy homebrew releases have dropped this week despite the console being over 8.5 years old. The first of these is a port of DevilutionX, a Diablo I source port which recently saw its way to hacked PSVita consoles. The 3DS port has been made by GBATemp user MrHuu and currently, it only comes with shareware support if you want a pre-compiled CIA file although you can compile the latest build yourself if you want to play the full game. The developer notes that the port runs slow on original 3DS consoles so for a playable experience, it’s recommended you try it out a New 3DS device as a Reddit user has pointed out that performance is quite poor on the Old 3DS. That being said, there have been various commits to the port’s code on GitHub meaning that development is still going on which might fix bugs and improve performance somewhat, especially on lower-powered 3DS hardware, in the future!
To learn more about DevilutionX for the 3DS,follow this link to its GBATemp Thread and you can download it from its GitHub release page. Fancy browsing the web on a browser from last decade on your DSi/3DS? Well, now you can with Twilight Menu++
Moving on to the second piece of homebrew, we have an update to TwiLight Menu++ bringing its version number to 11.1.0. This release includes:
- Support for the Nintendo DS Browser by emulating the Memory Expansion Pack via the extra RAM on the DSi/3DS (the DS only has 4MB RAM built-in while the latter have 16MB and 128/256MB)
- With this, you can browse the internet using Presto 1.0, the engine found in Opera 8.5!
- An updated version of GBARunner2
- On the 3DS and DSi, this can be run on CycloDS iEvolution
- Box art can be disabled on the 3DS and DSi by caching it to RAM
- An AP-patch for randomised Pokemon Black was added
- You no longer need to manually turn off heap sink for 6 games including 999 and Sonic Rush
- Some bug fixes

The Pokemon Company has filed suit against at least three unknown US individuals for leaking early images of Pokemon Sword and Shield monsters and gameplay info.
Forbes reports that a lawsuit filed in the western district court of Washington at Seattle targets three unknown US residents who took "illicit pictures of pages from an unreleased strategy guide" for Sword and Shield and distributed those images across Discord and 4chan over the course of 15 hours in early November.
The suit goes on to argue that these images, which included images of the game's Gigantamax forms for Machamp, Eevee, Garbador, and Kingler as well several other new Pokemon and characters, constituted valuable trade secrets that disrupted The Pokemon Company's plans to market the game leading up to its launch.

One of the first ever ROM hacks (not translation) made by S.D.A., which replaces the original Mario/Luigi designs with the ones from the Mario Bros. minigame on Super Mario Bros. 3 (which can be played only when in 2-player mode).
The inspiration of this hack was right by the minigame’s sprites, especially because it features the same mechanics of the original game which this patch is based on. So, by confronting the sprites and the games, S.D.A. finally found an idea and said: “Why not hacking those minigame characters in the original Mario Bros?”. And that’s how this hack was made.
This news was released right for its 100th download in total, being the second project so far that passed this number, among the author’s first French translation of SMB1.

Compared to Android, emulation offerings on iOS aren’t as numerous and well-supported even though the hardware of some iOS devices is pretty powerful. However, things seem to be changing as Dolphin may finally be coming to the platform in one way or another!
[h=3]PR for Experimental Support published[/h]
On Sunday, developer OatmealDome published a pull request to Dolphin’s GitHub which would see experimental iOS support in the emulator’s official codebase if accepted.
Want to run Animal Crossing for the GameCube on your iPad? Well, now you can!
This pull request was accompanied by a decent deal of documentation, the main points of which are:
- The effort behind the pull request was made in order to initiate discussion as to whether iOS is a platform that Dolphin ought to support
- The build system is based on the Android one with image assets being taken directly from there
- Currently, the interface is a rudimentary state although touch controls do work.
- If work on this port goes forward, the interface needs a good deal more work and the codebase will transition to Swift from Objective-C as much as possible
- The Vulkan backend is used for rendering although an unusable OpenGL one is still provided for now.
It’s important to note that due to the memory requirements of Dolphin, a jailbroken device is effectively required (or modifications to the bootloader) since it needs an entitlement which lets access more memory than Apple allows 3rd party applications to use. This pull request was made possible through the amalgamation of previous pull requests that were denied mostly due to the aforementioned memory issue which is effectively fixed now.
Supported devices include:
- Apple A9/A9X devices which include the iPhone 6S(+), iPad Pro 1st generation (9.7/12.9”) and iPad 5th generation
- Apple A10/A10X devices which include the iPhone 7(+), iPad Pro 2nd generation (10.5”/12.9”), iPad 6/7th generation and the iPod Touch 7th generation
- Dolphin will probably run best on 2nd generation iPad Pros as they have 4GB RAM (other supported devices have 2/3GB) and the best GPU, outperforming even that found in the A11 by a good margin.
- Apple A11 devices which include the iPhone 8(+) and iPhone X
