News from Dragonminded
DSOrganize is meant as a homebrew organizer application for the Nintendo DS that should have come built in in the first place. It is by no means comparible to a full-fledged organizer such as a palm, and it is not planned to become an operating system, video player, or anything similar. Many thanks go out to several dedicated members in the homebrew community for their help and libraries, without which, DSOrganize would not exist.
The latest version of DSOrganize, version 2.25, is available on this page. There are three versions: the gray version, the blue version and the green version, due to driver incompatibilities. Please be sure to only use the executable type for your particular card, and be sure to unzip the entire directory structure to your card properly, or certain pages will not save properly. As always, don't forget to back up before trying any homebrew!
Fixes found in 2.25
Fix for crash when nick is too long for server and you are autoconnecting.
Made DSOrganize IRC auto-pull nick from firmware if none is given.
Added alternate nick setting to DSO IRC.
Disabled the ability to type spaces in nickname entries on configuration.
Added check for bad server connections.
Changed scroll buffer on each page to only hold the last 100 lines.
Fixed ping command to not send until at least you are connected properly.
Made DSO check for valid path entry of HBDB download directory.
Fixed homebrew database to download into the dsorganize directory properly if it is /data/dsorganize/.
Added check for renaming to no file name to be more idiot-proof.
Took out MK2/MK3 and NinjaSD drivers for Green and Blue release to speed boot times (whiners).
Fixed the long hang time on hiding and unhiding files.
Added new supercard drivers to Blue release to hopefully fix scLite.
Reorganized configuration a little and added a few more options.
Added in option to change the default homebrew boot method.
Added in option to automatically insert bullets on the todo screen.
Added in option to swap the A and B button on all screens.
Fixed sluggishness on calculator buttons.
Fixed streams to use proxy if needed.
Made IRC advertise the /help command when starting up.
Changed L and R buttons on IRC to highlight the appropriate color if an offscreen window gets a message.
Added typed backbuffer on IRC. Hold Y and use the up or down buttons to scroll up to five lines back.
Added page-up and page-down to irc. Hold X and use the up and down buttons to scroll the view.
Changed /data/ directory detection method to only work if /DSOrganize/ directory is present inside.
Changed browser interface so that if there are multiple options for a file, A always views and Y always edits.
Added .hbdb and .pkg as editable file types.
Fixed some rendering errors in the simple html renderer.
Fixed weird error in syntax hilighting.
Fixed syntax hilighting logic for comments and html editor.
Fixed a bug where you were allowed to rename or delete the . and .. entries, thus destroying the file structure.
Fixed underlining error with links at the end of html files.
Added /away to IRC.
Added a failsafe in the FAT_rename code, hopefully this fixes dropped entries.

Future Gamez has confirmed that Ubisoft is working on a new Prince of Persia title for the Nintendo DS, but it doesn't appear to be another card battler like last year's Battles of Prince of Persia.
Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification added the new game to their online database under the title, Prince of Persia: Rival Blades, for multiple platforms. However, an Ubisoft rep commented that Blades had been an alternate title for The Two Thrones, and the OFLC's listing is a placeholder for a new DS version of the prince's most recent console adventure.

Nintendo officials have admitted time and time again that mistakes were made with the GameCube. Whether it was the lack of a steady stream of games, minimal third party support, or poor marketing, the GameCube certainly had its flaws.
Weak list of launch games: When the GameCube launched on November 18, 2001, twelve games were available, including All-Star Baseball 2002, Batman Vengeance, Crazy Taxi, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, Disney’s Tarzan Untamed, Luigi’s Mansion, Madden NFL 2002, NHL Hitz 2002, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, Super Monkey Ball, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and Wave Race: Blue Storm.
The Color Purple: No, not the Alice Walker novel, but the choice to compete against monolithic companies like Sony and Microsoft with a purple console in your arsenal.
Mario is Missing: Nintendo without Mario is like Microsoft without Master Chief. Or Sega without Sonic. Or Sony without idea plagiarism.
Do you agree or disagree, vent your opinions

Yeah, good news. The german online mag Nintendo-Lan.de was able to speak with Ubisoft on GC in Leipzig, and they asked questions which could be posted per email before. So I send them 2 questions and they were both answered. I'll translate it into english for you. Here we go.
----------
Mordrag (thats me): Hi, in your interview with ubisoft you could ask how the swordfighting is going to work now, because it was announced to be redesigned. So that the swordmoves aren't predetermined any more but are converted 1:1.
N-LAN: That's the case indeed. A developer has confirmed that the control scheme will be completely redesigned so that the controller moves are converted into the game precisely. Besides the controller sensitivity will be completely adjustable in the final version. And the graphics were improved very well since E3, now the atmosphere is much more darklier and thrilling. But that's not all, there will be even more improvements on the graphics side.
Mordrag: Furthermore you could ask Ubisoft if there are any loading times in Red Steel or in other games on the Wii.
N-LAN: In Red Steel there will be no loading times at all because of smart streaming techniques. How it's handled in other Wii games we can't say at the moment. But it's a fact that Mario Strikers Charged will have loading times similar to the Gamecube version of the game. We were not told if that will be changed in the future. But we're sure that it will work like on the Gamecube. And as you know the loading times on Gamecube - if they have existed at all - actually were not a big deal.

Nintendo Press release:
Late on Thursday, a Nintendo DS(TM) owner logged onto Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection for the first time. That person unknowingly became the 2 millionth unique player to use Nintendo's wireless gaming service. To put that number in perspective, the population of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection users now surpasses the population of 15 different U.S. states, including Montana, Nebraska and New Mexico. In addition to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection surpassing 2 million unique players, the service has also logged more than 70 million individual game sessions in just more than nine months of operation, a number expected to soar as more and more Wi-Fi-enabled titles are released.
"Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection continues to set the standard for easy, fun and safe wireless gaming," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Our hand-held leadership will continue unabated with today's launch of Star Fox Command and the anticipation of our upcoming Wi-Fi titles."
Today the hugely popular Star Fox series goes wireless with Star Fox® Command for Nintendo DS. The sci-fi space combat game marks the first-ever portable, Wi-Fi-enabled Star Fox game. Up to four players, be they friends or strangers, can meet up on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to blow each other out of the sky in white-knuckle dogfights.
In addition to multiplayer Wi-Fi dogfights, the 3-D space shooter Star Fox Command also lets players use the DS Touch Screen to draw out their flight plans, steer their Arwing fighters and drop bombs on enemies. Rubbing the touch screen sends the fighter into a barrel roll. The game uses elements of both real-time combat and turn-based strategy games, and includes a familiar array of popular animal characters from the Star Fox universe, including Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Krystal and Slippy Toad.
Star Fox Command, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older, blasts off today. For more information about the game, visit www.starfoxcommand.com. For more information about Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, visit www.nintendowifi.com.
The worldwide innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Nintendo DS(TM), Game Boy® Advance and Nintendo GameCube(TM) systems, and upcoming Wii(TM) console. Since 1983, Nintendo has sold nearly 2.2 billion video games and more than 375 million hardware units globally, and has created industry icons like Mario(TM), Donkey Kong®, Metroid®, Zelda(TM) and Pokemon®. A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of America Inc., based in Redmond, Wash., serves as headquarters for Nintendo's operations in the Western Hemisphere. After modifing the code of Picodriveds, I was able to add support for Max media dock(Using the Fat from Moonshell), and savestates work for it! This is a modified PicodriveDS, This only works for MMD and MMP, and it doesn't support sound, so don't ask that.

HtheB has posted some WIP news about his awesome looking flight game for the Nintendo DS:
Okay, it's time for some updates regarding Glider...
One of the updates is about the style of the game, as which we thought and will make Glider a Flighting Shooter.
The other update regards that we already began making some progress making new models for the game, like "F-16".
On another place, stay with the image regarding the "F-16" for the game.
great news

JimmyL has posted a new version of his excellent Real Time Strategy Game for the Nintendo DS, heres whats new:
I finally found some time to fix the crash that Meleeboy0 mentioned on the forums two weeks ago. In the process I also made a slight change to the way the build menus work, it will now choose the icon initially picked when you drag it out to the side, rather than the last one the pen was on when the dragging started.
As a side note, I updated to the latest libnds and wifilib, but I don't have 2 ds's around to double check if the online game still works, the game still connects to my webserver and post that a server was started, so that's a good sign that everything should be ok.

Via IGN Blog:
Checked out a final machine the other day and it was nice. We popped a Wii disc in it -- it looked like a blank CD, by the way, which is pretty much what it was; nobody's seen a retail disc yet -- and it was smooth. The disc just floated into the slot drive. No jerkiness whatsoever. Was very impressive and in hindsight I wish I'd brought a GCN disc so I could've tested that, too. I imagine it'll be just as smooth.
Looks to me like Wave Bird receivers will fit just fine in the GCN docking station's controller ports on the Wii hardware. I opened the flap and had a look. It's perfectly flat, so there shouldn't be any problems. Meanwhile, I popped open the front flap again and yes, it's just an SD Card slot and the SYNCHRO button -- not a 3D hologram laser or a time machine.
One thing that's really bugging me is that nobody has been able to see Wii's GUI yet. Or, at least, nobody's talking. Given that final hardware and firmware are out there, I have to think it's going to surface soon. So, er, keep watching IGN Wii because I'll be looking to track down photos and videos just as soon as I can.

Owners of the MaxMedia Dock can now be thankful that another coder has released a version of Doom that supports the device just for you, heres what Brumi posted:
Hi Guys,
after some changes to the source-code and with support from MisterSentient i got a Version of DSDoom running with Max Media Player on my Max Media Dock (CF-Card, not the HDD).
In order to get DSDoom running you first of all need to get it from here and follow the installation instructions.
Then grab my modified nds-file.
To get everything running place all the files in the root-directory of your cf-card (dont forget your wad-file).
Due to some compatibility-issues with the Max Media Player you need to rename the "dsdoom_mmd.nds" to "bootme.nds". Otherwise it won't work.
And then - at last - just turn on your NDS and enjoy a great game.
Thanks to the guys from DSDoom for making such a superb port and MisterSentient for his support.

It doesn't take long after the original Game Boy Advance Mario vs. Donkey Kong that the old rivals compete with each other once again. Aside from the improved visuals, the sequel on the Nintendo DS offers many new features like touch screen gameplay that strays from the GBA game.
In the Games Convention demo, levels are divided into various areas in which you have to guide the Mini-Marios to the goal. The gameplay could be compared to the classic PC game Lemmings -- by tapping on a Mario you can wind him up and he is ready to move. By dragging the stylus across the Mario you will make him go in that direction. If you flick him upwards he will perform a jump.
Following this principle you have to move all the Marios on screen to guide them to the goal. On the way there are of course many barriers that you have to overcome. While level one is quite easy, the difficulty definitely ramps up in the later rounds. Further challenges require players to manage more than one Mario at a time to lead them to the goal. At the end of each level you have to fight a boss.
Additionally to the main game "Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2" will feature a level editor to let you create your own challenges. Those levels can be sent to people all over the world via Nintendo's internet-based Wi-Fi Connection service.
The potential hit game will be published this September in America so you won't have to wait long until you can get your own hands on it. We seriously recommend you do that.
