Nes World have some information about the release of a clone of the Nes Console:
Welcome to yet another look at the dark side of the Famicom/NES era. This time around it's the Super Pegasus, and even though I've seen a lot of pirate stuff in my time, I've never heard of the Pegasus or seen a more direct rip off of an existing console.Famicom clones come in various shapes from the SEGA Megadrive to the Nintendo 64 to Playstation 1 and 2 and the list goes on and on. Some of the most common one is probably the Super Famicom look-alike, also known as the Mastergames Supercom 72. Well the the Super Pegasus fits in the Super Nintendo rip off category, only it's looking exactly like a Super Famicom, even the cartridge lid is Super Nintendo shaped.

Over at Nesworld comes news of a new clone game for the Nes Console, nice to see the old console still getting some attention:
The Oliver Twins are back with yet another Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game for everyone to enjoy. This time around however it is quite special. We all know their generosity from the release of the NES games DreamWorld Pogie and Wonderland Dizzy, titles we all knew about but figured had been lost forever. I even spoke with the Oliver Twins back in 2002/03'ish about Wonderland Dizzy and back then it was no where to be found, sadly a hard disk crash back then put an end to a small Wonderland Dizzy i had planned.Well enough about Wonderland Dizzy, because this page is a tribute to the latest news from Philip and Andrew Oliver, a Nintendo game I bet no one, other than those who worked on it, knew existed.... Mystery World Dizzy!

PaulGoes has released a new clone of a classic for the Nintendo Wii, here some more info:
Donkey Kong Jr In 1982 I got my first ‘handheld’ console: the G&W Donkey Kong Jr. In 1983, I programmed my own version for the TRS-80 home computer. And now I programmed this version for the Wii homebrew. Why? Because it is simply possible to do and a fun experience too! I got the trigger to start this at an information evening at my son's school. A student of de 'hogeschool voor de kunsten' was telling about game design. A girl asked him if it would be possible to program games for the Nintendo Wii. That question triggered me because the month before I softmodded my Wii.

Aighina's Prophecy has been translated to English, if your fans of this NES game then this is awesome news for you, heres a bit more info:
Aigiina no Yogen - From The Legend of Balubalouk, also known as Aighina’s Prophecy, has been fully translated into English. It’s an arcade-style action platformer released in 1986, and thus is one of the first Famicom games to use a large amount of in-game dialogue. Up to now the only translation available only translated the in-game menu and a couple of lines of NPC dialogue: now, the introduction, password system, ending and NPC dialogue has been fully translated (and corrected, in the case of the ending).
While it’s perfectly possible to complete the game without understanding the text, having it translated brings a lot to the game, and documents you can find during the game will give you clues of how to progress. That being said, it is still fiendishly difficult to figure everything out without a walkthrough. If you’ve never tried this piece of platform fun before, why not give it a try now?

Monster Party Famicom has been translated to English which is great news for fans of the classic Nes game:
After countless hours of work, we present to everyone our completed translation of the Japanese prototype ROM, Monster Party. Shortly after the prototype ROM was released to the public, Pennywise began efforts to translate the game with Ryusui’s help. In a short amount of time all of the text had been translated/localized, but the project was not yet considered complete.
Being an unfinished prototype, the goal was to add all the positive changes and “finish” the game. Due to a lack of time on Pennywise’s part, that effectively killed the project until rainponcho came along and agreed to do all the necessary work to hack the game into a finished state. Please do keep in mind, that there will be at least one more update to the translation with the completed totem pole boss when time permits. Who knows when that’ll be though.
So enjoy this lost relic of time for now!

One of my favourite games of all time Super Mario Bros 3 has seen a new rom hack recently and heres the fixed version of that hack, heres more details:
Super Mario Bros. 3: The Forgotten Worlds is now 100% tested and fixed. As a bonus, a poster has been attached, where you can read the fully worked out and improved plot.
As for those, who has downloaded and played this game, once again, sorry for having 4 worlds in the game. The SMB2J clone hack patch allowed only 4 worlds regularly and the idea/plan was 4 worlds originally, too.

For fans and owners of the Virtual Boy Games System, theres a new release for developers:
Here is the brand new version 1.2.0 of VBDE, your full fledged Nintendo Virtual Boy development environment for Windows!
[h=3]New compiler[/h]
For this version, gcc has been updated to 4.7 with amazing new patches by ElmerPCFX for wider compatabilty (e.g. frame pointers and prolog functions are now supported), better code optimization and much lower compile times.
Thanks a bunch Elmer! Also thank you to Jorgeche for helping with getting it up and running in VBDE!
[h=3]Pro updates[/h]
For the Pro Version, IDEA has been updated to the latest version, 2106.3.5. Furthermore, the C/C++ plugin has been removed since it was causing slow-downs and broke auto-completion.
[h=3]Tiled support[/h]
A script has been added for converting Tiled maps to VUEngine stages. It not only builds Stage definitions from Tiled maps, but also allows to mark certain object or tile layers as "Composites", which get combined into single images and converted on the fly.
Most Stages of the VUEngine demos have been converted to Tiled maps and can be converted with the script, but in its current form, it's not very robust against misconfiguration and more of a hacked together proof of concept. I hope to find the time to refactor this into a clean and highly extensible class structure for a future VBDE release.
[h=3]New major VUEngine version[/h]
The VBJaEngine has been renamed to "VUEngine" and updated to version 5.0, which has seen tons of optimizations and bug fixes, new features as well as new, Doxygen-based documentation.
The VUEngine Barebone and Platformer Demo have also been massively updated. Check out the updated VUEngine Platformer Demo version, it now runs flawlessly on hardware and has improved graphics and animations, new level elements, new menus and an overhauled save feature!
In the following folder you'll find the latest compiled and padded binaries, constantly fed by our new, automated release process.
[h=3]Repositories[/h]
Keep in mind that you can stay up to date, independent of releases, by grabbing VBDE and the VUEngine directly from their Git repositories at Bitbucket.
So, instead of using the download links on top of this post, you can alternatively just clone VBDE's Git repo with your Bitbucket account, which would also enable you to easily update to future versions through a simple git pull.
git clone --recursive
https://[your-bitbucket-username]@bitbucket.org/KR155E/vbde.git

Another item of Virtual Boy News:
In the nineties, Canadian company VidPro made game retail displays that were used at a number of retailers, most notably Toys'R'Us. The system was simple: instead of the actual game boxes, VidPro displays had cards showing the boxart for every title the store sold, which the customer could browse. If they wanted to make a purchase, they grabbed a slip of paper and brought it up to the cashier to receive the actual game.
Due to VidPro cards being produced prior to a game's retail release, there were also cards made for unreleased games in rare occasions. It has been known for a long time that a card exists for the unreleased Dragon Hopper, and we have even had super-low res scans which were found in 2002 on half.com.
Now the elusive gem has finally been found by vuefinder83! Enjoy high-res scans of the VidPro cards for Dragon Hopper and a few other Virtual Boy games, including early versions, here.
