Telltale Studios is inviting fans to write letters and emails trying to get Nintendo interested in a Sam & Max game for Wii.
"We'd love to bring Sam & Max to the Wii," Emily Morganti wrote on the developer's web-forum.
"Thing is, us thinking it's a great idea isn't enough. We need the guys at Nintendo to agree. And with a company as big as Nintendo, getting noticed by the right people can be tricky."
"If you want to keep emailing us about how great Sam & Max would be on the Wii, please do. It's great to see how many people are interested in this sort of thing (and we know that for every mail we get, there are a bunch more of you out there who didn't write)," she continued.
"But it would be even better if you'd contact Nintendo and tell them what a great idea it is. Maybe if enough fans write in, they'll take notice?"
Sam & Max Episode 1: Culture Shock is due out next month, and is the first of six planned episodes.

Square Enix's revival of the Mana series continues with the announcement of a new isometric strategy RPG for the Nintendo DS called Heroes of Mana.
Playing as a chap called Roger, a swordsman in the Pedan Kingdom army, players must gather resources to build facilities for summoning monsters, which can then be sent out to duff up the enemy.
As you'd expect, there'll be lots of storyline to back everything up - with mid-level conversations ala Fire Emblem, judging by the screenshots - and you'll be starting out from an airship base.
With the Tokyo Game Show happening later this week, you can expect some more details then - and in the meantime you can always look forward to the 30th October US release of Children of Mana, a more traditional action RPG with multiplayer elements.

GameCube version of Twilight Princess not ready for Wii launch, as originally mooted
Nintendo's GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess won't ship concurrently with the launch of the Wii - in America at least.
It has been delayed, but the news isn't all that bad: it will reach the US on December 11 (a fortnight after the Wii's launch). Given that the Wii is launching in the UK on December 8, that would appear to make it a bit touch-and-go as to whether Twilight Princess for the GameCube will make it into the shops in time for Christmas on these shores.
Could the GameCube Twilight Princess delay be some sort of added inducement for us all to go out and buy Wiis? Anyway, it's not much, but we can offer you some consolation: a new screenshot from the Wii version of the game which surfaced at Nintendo's big Wii launch announcement last week.

Sgstair posted this news/release:
There are some major bugfixes in this release, but besides that, it’s not really changing functionality much.
Many of you might thank me for the following changes:
*Fixed major bug in arm7 (potentially causing arm9 to lose track of the buffer, and lock up I/O - odd that I hadn’t seen this happen, but someone else certainly had, and let me know about it)
*Changed default behavior to use internal allocation system for memory (fixes interrupt allocation bug) (this was pretty stupid on my part, but it is fixed now. Now, for default behavior, the lib allocates a block of memory at startup and the default functions alloc/free from this small heap (you can still use your own, if you like, but you have to add an extra flag to the arm9’s init call, which is WIFIINIT_OPTION_USECUSTOMALLOC. The default heap size is 128k, but there are flags to specify 64k, 256k, and 512k as alternate heap sizes. 128k is probably more than most people will need, if you need lots of TCP connections (>7), then you will need to specify a larger heap size.)
*Fixed bug that could cause _CANNOTCONNECT to come up incorrectly when associating (this was a “transient” problem, occurred due to 2 state changes that were offset by a bit, causing a condition I didn’t initially expect - it is fixed now and Wifi_AssocStatus() should return values consistent with what you’d expect)
*Fixed blocking send() to actually be blocking. (odd that, I evidently didn’t set it up earlier. It is blocking-capable now though)
I’m not re-releasing the examples package because they’re essentially the same; there is only one difference and that’s I’ve removed the sgIP_malloc and sgIP_free functions from the wifi_lib_test project.
On a side note, if you do notice any bugs in the lib, please do contact me, via IRC (#dswifi on efnet or blitzed) or other means. I’m expecting to set up a bugtracker in the near future too, so there will be a more formal way to yell at me
Ok, And for those of you who are unhappy cause your favorite feature got left out (be it probe requests, the WFC data alternate WEP key format, or native Nintendo USB key compatibility) - sorry, but this project has become stagnant, probably because I’m continually trying to refine it and just don’t feel like it anymore really; I’ve decided to put the whole lib on standby for the immediate future, and when I continue (probably mid-november) I’ll start with a complete rewrite of the 802.11 system and the TCP stack, for version 0.5 - at that point I’ll have the chance to actually do some of these things *right*, and I perhaps won’t be as frustrated with a codebase based on flawed assumptions and a general lack of understanding
I’ll post again sometime soon with information about what projects I am presently going to be pursuing, and which ones are on the back burner.

UPDATE: YouTube video
I just released a game you may be interested in.
Heres some info about the game:
Extreme Onslaught is a homebrew multi-directional shooter for the Nintendo DS. It currently has 7 distinct enemy types.
Controls:
Use either the dpad or the ABXY buttons to control movement.
Use the shoulder buttons to launch a bomb.
Drag your stylus or finger on the touch screen to control the direction of your weapon fire.
After a short period of game play, your weapon will start to spread out. For wider weapon fire, move the stylus far from the center of your touch screen. For more tight fire, keep the stylus centered.

Heres an excerpt:
C3: How did the concept for Phoenix Wright arise, why do you think it has become such a popular franchise in Japan and where did the idea of translating the GBA games to the DS come from?
Ms. Matsukawa: I think the reason why this series became popular in Japan was that the players appreciated the GBA development team's passion for good quality. Then, word of mouth spread - that was how it became popular. I feel that the development team and the players communicated through the game.

Via the Sun:
Greg said: "I really like the Wii. You can really give a full swing or slice the ball playing tennis and you get full vibration when you hit it.
"It will get kids into playing tennis, especially with complaints about games not being physical. This gets them moving."
Just one bout in the ring - flinging my arms out to punch - was enough to work up a sweat.
Of course, it doesn't have the graphics power of an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and the line-up of games is certainly not as strong for a hardcore audience.
But what Nintendo has done is get people excited in games again and by encouraging families to play together, Wii will all benefit.

In addition to announcing a Wii launch date and price this week, Nintendo unveiled a new Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) trailer. The game -- arguably the most anticipated launch title for the next-gen platform -- features motion-sensing controls and updated visuals adapted from the originally planned GameCube title. Those wanting to play the the old directional pad way will have to wait even longer, however; Nintendo has delayed the Cube's version until December 11.

A reader sent in this pic of what he says is an upcoming GameStop ad showing that they will require gamers to trade in $50 worth of their stuff to snag a pre-order for the Playstation 3 or the Wii. As always take this with a grain of salt. It could be that this is just one of the ways the retailer is pushing pre-orders, or the whole thing could be made up. Fortunately, we should find out by Monday, when these signs are set to go up.

Sure, you could've gone ahead with one of those sketchwardo Wii pre-orders from any number of fly-by-night online stores, but this here's the real deal: Nintendo is now taking Wii pre-orders at their flagship Nintendo World store in New York City for $50 a pop. They've got around 100-300 slots total, and started taking orders on Thursday, so if you want to make sure you've got a Wii in your hands come launch day, you'd best be heading over soon -- they're not taking orders over the phone. Of course, with the infinitesimal spec bumps going into the Wii, we don't foresee many production problems, so your standard-fare midnight line-up at Wal-Mart or Best Buy should produce results. But we're guessing if push comes to shove, about the last place Nintendo is going to short on the Wii action is their own NYC store, and you don't want to be the only kid in your borough not getting down with that Wiimote come 12:01 AM, November 19th.

A contact of DCEmu has given me some excellent news and info of one of the Nintendo DS`s future connectivity with the Wii.
According to my contact (and he only confided with me if others copy this news), the DS will be used as a Keyboard for the Wii and also as a mouse of sorts, this will make usage of the Opera Browser as easy as anything with the ability to use the Stylus as a keyboard.
More detailed information Soon.

Nintendo UK Boss gives some info on future roadshow?
As Mr. Yarnton emphasised, the key factor in marketing the Wii is to get people playing the console and understanding what it is all about, but Nintendo don't want demo units tucked away in store corners. The roadshow will give the company a chance to explain how to play the Wii to people and also to do some major promotion and advertising for the company.

Matthias Zauner, Ralph Windischhofer & Martina Karan have released a Video of their new excellent Homebrew project for the DS, heres the full info:
ndsvisuals (working title ...) is a system designed to loosen VJs from their stationary input devices, by equipping them with a wireless remote control - more precisely: a nintendoDS gaming console. by using all the features the nintendoDS provides (such as two screens, a touchscreen, wirless networking, ...) it enables VJs to control their visual performance from wherever they have a WLAN-connection to their notebook.
While the NintendoDS is only used as the user interface, the actual calculation of the video output is processed by a server application which is based on vvvv (vvvv.meso.net), a "multipurpose toolkit for real time video synthesis".
ndsvisuals enables you to select, playback, mix and blend your footage by drag&drop, change color and opacity, or scratch your videos by moving the NintendoDS' stylus over the touchscreen.
Besides controlling videofiles, it is possible to include own vvvv-patches as plugins into your visual performance, which then can process all NintendoDS-Inputs and therefore can be fully controlled by ndsvisuals. stylus movement can be used e.g. to rotate a 3D-scene, control speed of movement, or simply draw onto the screen, just to name a few of the possibilities.
list of functions:
display an overview of available footage as screenshots on the NintendoDS
arrange footage on three layers by drag&drop
change color/opacity of layers
blend layers by using different blend modes
scratch videofiles by moving the stylus over the touchscreen
control playback speed
include your own vvvv-patches as plugins, just by placing them into a specified directory and inserting a few special-named input nodes
control the vvvv-patches directly with the NintendoDS
combine videofiles and vvvv-patches
change the opacity of all three layers by using a 2D-crossfader
Videos at the Official Site

Dark Knight ez posted this news/release:
Hey all.
AmplituDS is my first real project for the NDS, and it being one of the first homebrew games to feature (IT) music and not only that, but on top of that it's actually also used as gameplay element.
It's based on the gameplay of Amplitude for the PlayStation 2. From the people who also created Guitar Hero.
The current release only uses SRAM to save one's highscores and options.
Support for FAT and thus allowing people to create (and insert) their own game stages will follow shortly, also including the ability to write the savefile as a file to the inserted FAT card.
Other than that... It should be noted that the game is not the easiest game out there. For beginners, I recommend starting out by choosing Close View as camera mode and using the Turrican version. The SMB remix stage is harder but more fun if you get it right due to the high recognisability factor of the song.
So, have fun!

Via DSFanboy
It's the picture that has everyone frothing -- but Nintendo's not giving up the details just yet, despite rampant speculation about precisely how the two Nintendo platforms will hook up. Will it be a whirlwind romance or a true partnership?
Here's what we know -- the Wii will serve as a "download station" for the DS. And we have the image from Nintendo's site. The translated text mentions Pokemon, and though our Google translation is weak at best, it seems that you can pull Pokemon off the DS and onto the Wii. What for? We're not sure yet. And what will a "download station" provide, anyway? Will the DS be able to handle Virtual Console titles?
Connectivity is nothing new when it comes to Nintendo. Eventually, we'll be able to connect enough Nintendo platforms to build a giant stompy robot, so it's not at all surprising that the Wii and the DS will have a special relationship. As for theories, we are firmly behind the PinkSquiggle Technology mentioned at the Ars Technica forums. And we'd still like a pony.
