If you’re into FPS titles and World War II, then there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the Wolfenstein series which includes popular titles such as the highly acclaimed Wolfenstein 3D and 2001’s Return To Castle Wolfenstein. Now, the latter has been ported to the Nintendo Switch thanks to capsterx.
the Switch port, by developer capsterx, based on iortcw which is an open-source game engine for the title. According to a pretty lengthy release post on its GBATemp thread, capsterx states that porting the game to the Switch was no piece of cake and while the port works, loading times are a tad slow so you may need to be a little patient with it!
Due to RTCW not being a free game, you have to supply files from the Windows version yourself which can be bought off Steam or GOG for a few bucks. After obtaining the files you need (listed in the release thread linked below), you simply have to put them in “/switch/iortcwsp/main” together with the port’s NRO and other files required to run it. It is also possible to override the control schemes currently in place with more details on how to do so in the port’s release thread.

Celebrate Super Mario World 30th anniversary with Super Luigi World! Luigi steals the spotlight in this iconic platformer for the SNES. Play the original levels with the same classic gameplay, but this time you’re playing as Luigi!
Features
Luigi’s sprite from Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World
Luigi is now Player 1 and Mario is Player 2
All text now refers to Luigi, including:
A modified title screen logo
Savefile names
Message boxes
Boss clear texts
The ending text after beating the game
Credits
The inspiration for Super Luigi World came from playing the second half of Super Mario Galaxy in the 3D All-Stars Collection. This spawned the idea of creating a Luigi-version of Super Mario World dedicated to Luigi-fans!
It always felt off that the ending said “Mario’s adventure is over.” even if you beat the game as Luigi.
Super Luigi World restores the balance as you can now play as Luigi in a 1 Player Game or force your younger siblings to play as Luigi’s red brother in 2 Player Game mode!
What started as a seemingly easy beginner project quickly began to take more time than expected. It was a fun way to start getting into romhacking but most of all it granted a new appreciation for the effort this community puts into these projects!
Please enjoy, Super Luigi World!

Nintendo has blocked an independent Super Smash Bros tournament due to the organisers' use of mods and, according to the platform holder, illegal copies of the game.
The Big House is an annual US Smash Bros fan convention that's been running since 2011. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 event was set to take place online, running from December 4 to 6.
The tournament was to focus on Switch title Smash Bros Ultimate and fan favourite GameCube outing Smash Bros Melee. The latter launched without online functionality, which means tournaments often have to rely on Dolphin, a GameCube and Wii emulator, with fan-made modifications.
One such mod is Slippi, which was released earlier this year and improves the online infrastructure in a way that makes it smooth enough for competitive matches. The Big House intended to use this, but Nintendo of America issued a cease and desist order to block the event.
"We were informed we do not have permission to host or broadcast the event, primarily due to the usage of Slippi," the team said in a statement via Twitter. "Sadly, all our competitions are affected.
"We are forced to comply with the order and cancel The Big House Online for both Melee and Ultimate. Refund information will be sent shortly. We apologise to all those impacted."

As usual, when a new firmware update is released, some community members rush to update their console to check whether their preferred CFW is still working and this time is no different. However, this time around, the result was that Luma3DS no longer worked on Firmware 11.14.0 despite most recent 3DS updates not breaking compatibility. Thankfully, this hiccup was swiftly fixed with TuxSH releasing Luma3DS 10.2.1 hours after Firmware 11.14.0’s release with it including support for this new firmware & some other stuff namely:
- Download Play functionality now works even when you’re out-of-region
- An issue in which the Rosalina Menu wouldn’t pop up during application launch has been fixed

Nintendo published guidelines for businesses and organisations using Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a platform.
According to these guidelines, companies using the game are allowed to share custom designs with other players, invite them to their island, and share their 'dream address' (which allows players to visit each other without having to use the in-game airport).
Businesses can also upload screenshots or game footage to "family-friendly" websites, Nintendo said, as well as social networks.
However, Nintendo warned companies about taking part in activities that go beyond the game's rating (PEGI 3).
"Please refrain from using the game inappropriately or creating any content within the game that would be considered vulgar, discriminatory, or offensive," the guidelines read.

Nintendo has taken legal action against another reseller of products that enable Switch owners to play pirated games.
Its target this time is Amazon seller Le Hoang Minh, which it reports has been selling a circumvention device known as the RCM Loader that enables people to "jailbreak" the Switch.
This allows them to load custom firmware and homebrew software, but also opens up the console to pirated games.
According to court documents obtained and shared by Polygon, the reseller's "unlawful conduct is causing and will continue to cause Nintendo significant financial harm."
Initially, Nintendo issued a DMCA takedown notice to the seller, demanding the Amazon listing be removed. The seller responded with a counterclaim, which compelled Amazon to relist the product until Nintendo filed an infringement lawsuit.
That lawsuit was filed in Seattle earlier this week, where Nintendo is accusing Minh of two counts of trafficking devices that violate US law and one for abuse of DMCA counter-notification.
In the filing, the platform holder said video games piracy was a "serious, worsening international problem" and this suit is the latest effort from Nintendo to fight it.
Nintendo filed two lawsuits against resellers who sold products from the hacking group Team Xecuter earlier this year. It has since been granted a permanent injunction in one of these cases and secured victory in the other, receiving a $2 million settlement.
Two leaders of Xecuter were arrested last month, each charged with 11 felony counts.

Released last Friday for Patreon backers and due November 20th for the rest of the public, Cemu 1.22.0 packs in a significant deal of punch as it includes:
- A re-working of the PowerPC and Cafe OS threading mechanism
- The existing single/dual/triple-core CPU modes have been replaced by a Single-core and Multi-core mode with the latter making use of one full CPU thread while dynamically adjusting load on two other threads.
- Thanks to the reworking, overhead has been reduced resulting in minor performance boosts while some titles like Super Mario 3D World that are not multi-threaded should not be as heavy on the host CPU
- The PM4 Command Processor has been updated with promises of up to a 5% performance boost in games
Combined, the above changes could provide boosts of around 5% or more in the best-case scenario meaning that if there are any titles that almost run well but not quite on your machine, you should give them another go!

November 18th, 2020, 22:18 Posted By: wraggster
A new class action lawsuit has been filed against Nintendo of America regarding the Switch's Joy-Con drift.
The lawsuit was filed in a Seattle court, Polygon reported, and claims that the Switch is "defective" due to the Joy-Con controllers registering movement without user command.
"This defect significantly interferes with gameplay and this compromises the Switch and Joy-Con controller's core functionality," the lawsuit read. The plaintiff commissioned an assessment from a technical expert, who noted that the cause of the drift is "extensive wear on the pad surface" of the Joy-Con's interior.
"As the steel brushes inside of the joystick move back and forth, they rub away the soft carbon material that makes up the pad, which changes its electrical resistance and leads the drifting phenomenon," the expert noted. "The difference in surface hardness between the steel brush and the carbon pad results in excessive wear debris that collects on the steel brush tips. This transferred debris exacerbates the wear of the pad. The wear of the carbon (a known soft material) by the steel brushes (a known hard material) inevitably causes the joysticks to fail."
This analysis is in line with that of French consumers organisation UFC-Que Choisir, which also filed a lawsuit against Nintendo back in September. Back then, the organisation noted that the drift was caused by a premature wear and tear of the electronic circuits as well as an airtightness defect, which means fragments can easily get inside the Joy-Con.
The new lawsuit pointed out that Nintendo is aware of the defect as it's gathered "international scrutiny" as well as ongoing investigations, including the UFC-Que Choisir one but also from other consumer advocacy groups in Belgium and

Get ready for the festivities, in Animal Crossing: New Horizon's upcoming content patch. On November 19th, both Turkey Day and Toy Day will be added to the game, taking place in November and December respectively. You'll get to help returning characters Franklin the turkey and Jingle the Reindeer in holiday-themed town events. New hairstyles and reactions will also be added, giving players more room to customize their characters, as well as a home storage increase, which lets you now hold onto 2400 items. Lastly, the biggest celebration of all might not even be for a holiday--Nintendo has finally listened and will be adding the ability to do save data transfers, starting on November 19th.

2020 hasn't been the most stable year, but at least Nintendo is hard at work making sure that above all else, the Nintendo 3DS is the most stable thing in your life during these trying times. The system has just received a brand new firmware update, the first of 2020, to be exact, bringing the revision number to 11.14.0-46. Currently, the yls8 page shows us that a few changes were made regarding the web browser, NATIVE_FIRM, and more. The official changelog from Nintendo says the oh so popular phrase you've come to love:
- Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
Considering the random nature of this update, and the first few initial claims of those that took the plunge already, you might want to hold off on updating for right now, if you value having homebrew on your console. Reports state that Luma3DS is crashing, and that BrowserHax has been patched.

Swiss r963 is released. The swiss army knife of gamecube homebrew. Swiss aims to be the ultimate utility Gamecube homebrew application.
Swiss Changelog:
It's memory card emulation.
It's not quite ready for prime time still, but it has been a while, and general improvements have been pilling up.
It's currently limited to the following device combinations:
DVD + SD Card Adapter
GC Loader + SD Card Adapter
It currently has the following issues:
These devices still use synchronous I/O functions for the SD Card Adapter. Audiovisual glitches may occur during Memory Card access.
Changing channel on, or hotplugging a Wireless Receiver will cause the system to crash upon transmission from a WaveBird Controller on the set channel.
Due to insufficient memory space, disc read speed emulation is disabled.
On a system where a Memory Card hasn't been inserted in a particular Memory Slot since the system settings were last reset, the emulated Memory Card will be reported as unusable.
Probably more. Use this feature at your own risk.

It’s 2020 and we do get a brand new physical Wii game. Vblank Entertainment and the guys at Nintendo made this possible. If you are into games like GTA, you will love this one. Let’s read on
Welcome to Shakedown: Hawaii, Vblank Entertainment‘s latest open world adventure. Build a “legitimate” corporation by completing open world missions, acquiring businesses, sabotaging competitors, “rezoning” land, and shaking down shops for protection money.
You are the CEO, and questionable subsidiaries, misleading ads, fine print, hidden service fees, and marketing spin are your tools of choice. Shakedown: Hawaii parodies big business, and the most absurd business practices that go alongside.
From the boardroom to the streets, build your corporate empire and destroy the competition.
