Reports are coming in that some DS games might know whether they are being played on a DS Lite as seen in the above video. When starting Mario Kart DS on the original DS, notice Mario's "Yahoo!" as compared with his DS Lite's "Here we go!"

With Nintendo managing to impress the knickers off pretty much everyone who ventured into its Wii booth at this year's E3, it's no surprise that more and more publishers are starting to jump on the wavy-remote bandwagon. Latest in line now, is Take-Two Interactive - of Grand Theft Auto fame.
Speaking as part of a post-earnings conference call to analysts and investors, the publishers CFO Karl Winters revealed that, "The reception this platform received at the E3 show, you know, is one that makes us take a real strong look at it".
It seems that games like Nintendo's own Wii Sports has convinced Take-Two that the Wii has potential as a platform for the publishers 2K Games sports range: "As we grow our sports business, there are opportunities with our sports games to extend them to the Wii system, particularly if you look at baseball where we have exclusive arrangement, as well as, you know, some of the other sports games, which would play extremely well on the Wii product, the nonlicensed league ones."
While it's unlikely we'll be seeing a GTA on Nintendo's next console any time soon, it's still good to see more support for the diminuitive little bugger. Take-Two's Wii sports offerings are expected to release in late 2007/2008.

News from Engadget
Wouldn't you know it, last night instead of going out and getting our social life on, Paul and I cruised over to Rockefeller Center to the Nintendo World Store for the official DS Lite launch event (it being the eve of June 11th and all). We heard people were lining up over 13 hours in advance to get their shiny white DS Lite -- though the fact that the first 100 buyers got a free copy of Brain Age and a carrying case surely wasn't discouraging a crowd.

On this page there's a howto about how to wifime with your Nintendo USB stick (or any other rt2570/rt2500usb device) via Windows or Linux.
It uses either a knoppix boot cd (leaving your system intact, no changes done) or VMplayer.
The guide requires you to have:
Winzip/Winrar, or any other application capable of opening/extracting a .zip file.
A vmdk file downloadable from the site.
An usb stick supported by the driver, with the rt2570 chipset (like the official Nintendo WiFi dongle).
The Knoppix live iso CD (only tested with version 4.0.2 -> working)
VMplayer (only tested with original release version),
Any official Nintendo demo (or other .nds with an official RSA).
A working computer .
Optional An usb data stick
This clears out the general myth (that even survives in the DSlinux wiki) that WMB/Wifime can not be done with USB sticks or without Windows.
There are also pictures of the insides of a GBAMP and SC-CF there, and a beginnersguide to DS
homebrew (unfinished).

Jainy posted this news:
This quilt was inspired by the mario quilt I saw here on craftster. I decided that my fiance needed a kick ass wedding gift. It took 4 people and about 20 hours. I cut every "pixel" to be 2.5 inches finished to make a quilt that is roughly queen size. Everything was sewn into nine-patches. That is where I enlisted the help of my friends. Then I sewed them all together and quilted it on the Handi-Quilter!

Before the review heres some info about the game:

Heres the review from WhiteX of Emulation 64
Cars
This game is a tie in to an animation flick that is going on theaters, it suffers from the same sickness all licensed products suffer and is targeted to an
younger audeince
Presentation: 7
In fact the graphics on this one are very good, the cars are very well made, the world is also nice, all in full 3D. I graded it a little harshly because of the cutscenes that are made of still images and text but with an effect to make it look like a movie, that trick is as cheap as it gets.
Music: 5
The intro song is kinda nice but the rest is some boring, repetitive and forgettable rock and roll music trying to give some 50´s feeling to it.
Gameplay: 3
It is a selection of minigames, there are all kinds of it, from a Road Fighter clone to a street light memory game. Most of the minigames are plain boring with the touchscreen usage being forced on them, as it aims for kids, it may stick, you you´re grown or you do not watch Barney, pass this one out.
The DS Factor: 3
Most of the touchscreen control is forced and unimaginative, there´s no microphone usage, th only thing well done are the graphics.
Lasting appeal: 6
Being a minigame collection, you may elect your favorites and play them once in a while.
Final considerations:
A movie tie in, what else to be said, it is rushed, not very thought out and dull but some of the smaller kids might like it.

Heres some info about the game:

Meet Phoenix Wright, the rookie defense lawyer new to the scene with the wildest cross-examination skills in town! Take on five intriguing cases to reveal dramatic, stunning, and even comical court proceedings. Use both the dual and touch screens to investigate crime scenes, question witnesses and present shocking evidence. "Objection!" ...It's outrageous fun! You won't be able to put down this laugh-out-loud, riveting adventure!

Heres the review by WhiteX of Emulation64
For my first NDS review, i´ll give you an oldie but goodie.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
The game is an adventure game set on an unknown big city, where the protagonist ,Phoenix Wright, get to solve the most bizar murder cases on turns of investigation and trial on court, lemme add this, the DS is due to a CSI game. But to the game at hand...
Presentation: 7
This was originally a GBA game that never saw the light of day on US, so the characters and the evidence could have more feeling to it in the matter of graphics, the last case is the only one that uses the DS graphical capabilities. The game is presented basically with, not so still, anime based characters and a lot of text to read. The characters are colorful and very well animated, and all the cases are presented with a small cutscene on the introduction, being the last case, the best of them.
Thats not much to say about the graphics, they do their job, only that.
Music: 6
That´s right, Mr. Wright, above average, once again for being a GBA title the music suffered a little but the songs to fit the characters are nice and make the characters lasting appeal to linger a little more.
Gameplay: 9
That´s when the game shines, it is divided on days, each day has an investigation and a trial section. On the investigation, you must find evidence and information to build and support you cases, you get to talk with the most crazy dudes, get into the most wicked situations, run some weird errands, bump into a lake monster, a mob queen and so on. On the trial section, you get on a "fight" with the prosecutor to find contradictions on the witnesses´s testimonies, your "energy" is composed by five times to miss an evidence presentation, battering the witness with questions cost you no points You use the stylus to advance the dialog, to drive the examination reticule to find evidence on the scenarios and to select evidence for presentation and for choices that appear through the adventure. Once again the last case is the better of them, i´ll not spoil the fun but the DS inherent capabilities are more used than the cases before.
The DS Factor: 5
It is a port of a GBA game so it is not very used, you can yell "Hold it" and "Objection" during trial, however once you beat the game you unlock a DS exclusive chapter that utilizes more of the DS functions and that´s why it is not graded under 5.
Lasting appeal: 1
I personally remember the cases by heart, and it is not the kind of game that revisit, it is the sort to have many sequels.
Final considerations:
It is a very nice game with larger than life characters and a wacky storyline, you will stick to the screens till the case is solved, makes you wonder that the DS is due to a CSI game.

The teaser site for Final Fantasy III has launched, chock full of character bios, topics, and a prologue. Only problem is it's in Japanese. So if you're fluent in the tongue of yonder land of the rising fun, then head on over and enjoy all the rich text and soak in the information. The rest of us will just have to be content with all of the pretty pictures.

Linkiboy posted this WIP News:
Hey everyone, it's Linkiboy. I just need to do something to relax from programming. The last few days I've been trying to get several things working which all had to do with Sine and Cosine-- which I haven't yet learned. Well I finally got a proof-of-concept shooting engine and a near-perfect aiming engine, but turns out I can't get the darn bullets to stay off-screen while they're not being shot. Don't worry, I'll figure it out eventually.
As for a demo, the release date of it will be posted tommorow. Miller still needs to finish the menus for our game, and so far he has created some nice ones.
