I think i'll release my first 'proper' retexture now for super mario 64 here:
but first this is what it is...
what is retexturing?
it's when you use a plugin such as RICE for project 64 to overlap current textures in the game without illegaly modifing them.
where to get rice...
here's a link here (Open in new window): http://www.box.net/public/y3lfe6zqt6
what's in this retexture?
so far i've done the GUI and most of the of the castle yard in nes sprites...here's a screenshot (note: it's an old one so it's a bit more updated than the screen shot)

how to install
i suggest using project 64 for this because i don't know if this works on any other one...once downloaded rice extract than put the files in the plugin program file for project 64 once done delete the file that tells you to 'move bmglib to emu folder' so it doesn't confuse emu and as it says move the bmglib file to emu folder (the main one) NOT plugin folder! once that has been done create a folder called hires_texture (it must be exact!) than once you extract my project (which should be attaed below) move the SUPER MARIO 64 folder into hires_texture. After all that stuff is done boot up the emu go to settings make graphic plugin rice and go to configure graphic settings make sure advanced settings is turned ON after that go to texture settings and click load hires textures if available. AFTER ALL THAT load up the mario 64 rom(being your own of course) than VOILA! I hope you all enjoy here it is now.

Oh My God! The Faker made another Fake SuperCard SD ver. They change the color of circuit from black to green too, but we still can differentiate the Original one and Fake one.
How to differentiate Green Circuit Board FAKE SuperCard SD version
1. The label of FAKE SC is very blurry.
2. The Origianl has a circle inside the top shell.
3. The Fake one will corrupt your SAVE DATA.
4. The Fake one will white screen.
SuperCard Team will not provide after service and upgrade to the FAKE one.

News from Lik Sang:
a month back we covered Nintendo's announcement that the Wii will cost less than ¥ 25,000 (US$ 222, or 174 Euro), but no specific numbers or dates came out. Recently however, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata let another teaser slip, saying how the actual price point and release date will be revealed by September. During the same press conference the long awaited pricing for the Wii's Virtual Console system was also finally uncovered, sort of
Each title will cost between ¥ 500 and ¥ 1,000, which converts to about US$ 4.50 to US$ 8.99, or 3.49 to 6.99 Euro. Apparently this relates only to entirely new and more simple game releases however, as Satoru Iwata explained idea of creating low-scale titles which startup in just three seconds, and "put an end to turning games into big titles -- like taking simple game concepts, just adding modes and selling for 5800 yen". Whether or not these prices will also apply to downloading NES, SNES, N64, Genesis and TurboGrafx games or not remains to be seen though.

News from Lik Sang:
Here in Hong Kong a massive shipment of the much anticipated but currently European only Black DS Lite consoles went missing this week. The shipping container was valued at around US$ 2.3 million, which is estimated to include over 12,500 units. Some black consoles have already turned up on the black market, and Hong Kong police are offering a reward of just under US$ 130,000 for any information that leads to the location of the stash.
Meanwhile over the ocean, Japan Airlines announced how they're offering DS Lite consoles and games for in-flight play to Executive and First Class passengers. The campaign is being given a slow trial launch, wrapping up at the end of August and only running on routes from Tokyo to LA, NY, Chicago, San Francisco, London, Beijing and Guangzhou. Nintendo produced special units without Wi-Fi functions for use on the planes, and game wise the starting menu includes just four games like Mario Kart and DS Golf.

Not sure if this is posted here but whatever.
Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata previously stated that the Wii development kit would cost less than $2000. This was great news, offering independent developers a chance to make games on the Wii without spending a fortune.
In a recent briefing Satoru Iwata has gone further still and claimed the kit would now cost as low as $1732 USD. The first picture of the kit can be seen below.

As you probably know Nintendo are working with Opera to release a Web Browser for use on the Nintendo DS console. Some lucky guy called Jon got his hands on a prototype and wrote a full review of it and concludes with the sentence....
"All in all it would be safe to say that Nintendo and Opera have really hit it home with this combination of Hardware and Software innovation by providing the DS with an inexpensive, easy to use and beautiful product that anyone can afford."
The review is very positive and makes me wish they'd release it sooner in the UK but the browser will be on sale in Japan on July 24th for roughly £18 so if you can't wait you might want to import.

The full review can be found on his blog named Orgs Tech Times Here

kevinc has posted a new release of his MSN Clone for the Nintendo DS:
Changelog: Lots
- Added support for sending / receiving user display pictures through MSNSLP
- Added support for sending / receiving INK gifs (not sure if works with official client, it does work with aMSN, kopete and others)
- Can handle now 302 Transfer in SSL auth (I think, if it doesn't, contact me)
- Added keyboard pressed key mask thingy a lot of people asked.
- Updated to devkitpro19
- Fixed bugs where some transaction ids were expected to be 1 char long
- Changed principal interface
- Can change now avatar / display name
- Fixed bug where would crash if disconnected while chatting
- Fixed bug where MSN would still consider you online / in some session even after closing (in my PC works fine, probably an error of socket closing of the lib)
- Fixed some stuff where a principal would create new tabs continuously because beup didn't recognize that it had left the one before
- Tabs now appear only after partner sends a message (so sessions used only for avatar exchange don't clutter the tab container)
- Added some sounds
- Tabs now use principal names instead of account
- Fixed chat tabs in general
- Changed button look
- Simplified principal synchronization (hope it crashes less now)
- Implemented composite glyphs for dstype (now can display accents / tildes / stuff)
- More other stuff that I can't remember.
Stuff still wrong:
- DHCP still fails sometimes (probably the lib, probably *I*'m using the lib in a wrong way)
- SSL still fails sometimes (tell me somebody is writing a native SSL lib for the DS...)
- WEP seems to crash regularly (can't check it since I don't use WEP)
- I probably should create an interface to update network config on beup itself, so people shouldn't rely on firmware / weird dhcp behavior.
- Still uses small keyboard (even though many have asked for a bigger one). Anybody knows where to get a simplistic keyboard bitmap that doesn't have dozens of shade effects?
All in all, I'm sorry for making you wait. I'll start working on .3 soon.

The G6 team are releasing a version of their popular flashcart the G6 for the DS Lite. It sits flush with the DS lite casing and has 4Gigabits (512mb) of memory while keeping the same great features of it's larger brother.

It will come in 2 versions the Professional (which lacks GBA support and the extra case for use in the original DS) and Normal.
The best part is it comes with 4 cases that match the colour of the DS Lites available so you can keep the cool look of your new DS Lite
It will be released next week and both are available for pre-order from www.winsunx.com

sgstair posted this news update:
Wifi Lib CVS Update
Again, a very small CVS update, addressing a few issues brought to my attention by people bugging me
This CVS update contains:
* DHCP fix! Now the intermittent failing of DHCP and the days of getting an IP of 0.0.0.0 should be over.
* FIONREAD support (As requested)
* connect() now operates in blocking mode! If you enable non-blocking mode before calling connect, it will still return immediately indicating success, but several people have asked for blocking mode (and I’ve been planning to add it anyway, just to be more “correct”)
That’s all the feature updates at the moment, and I must apologize because they’re not very well tested at this point, but they should work. (I just don’t have the time to test today… at all)
If for some reason they don’t work, please let me know, of course.
Additionally, this is already known to some of you, but I have plans to add many new features and release a new precompiled library on friday or saturday this week - among the features planned to be added are:
select() support, shared key authentication, support for ”hidden” APs (by way of probe requests), lingering TCP connections on close (so they shut down properly), and a few other large and small items. If you have requests, please post them
Anyway, need to get back to work…..
