bob_fossil posted this news/release:
OK, I've put together a fairly stable version of my port of Quirky's Chaos Advance. Tested with Dualis and (eventually....) on an actual DS - only tried with an M3SD. Had to use START to run it from the M3 menu.
Issues:
There may be a couple of graphical glitches - magic fire doesn't seem to be drawn or updated in the game.
Some of the sounds don't seem to play either.
Some of text in the game is drawn with a default colour of white, rather than the real colour. Let me know if you spot any of these.
Options dialog hasn't been fully tested or implemented yet.
That said though, the bigger screen on the DS means you don't need to scroll the board around anymore.

Tassu posted this news
I'm not dead or anything, I just haven't had anything to show lately. I bought a new computer and I can now continue working on my projects. The Worldgen project is on hold for now, I'm not working on it because I managed to develop a big coders block. Instead I have been working on two other projects: a glider simulator game and a weird music game. They are going to be awesome. I will release some screenshots soon.

Poffy has posted this news on his site:
I’m currently working on two projects.
One was orginally going to be for the wifi compo, however, due to the busyness of the past months, work has become slow.
I’m currently toying with the idea of just waiting and releasing the game for the NeoFlash compo. I’m still thinking, though.
The second project is a client for the game Wolfpack Empire ( http://empserver.sourceforge.net/news.html )
The empclient source is very easy to use and will make going easy.
I’m pretty excited about this project.

Both Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata have confirmed the wiimote will have no microphone due to the costs involved. There is talk of a headset however.
This means that previous rumors about the Wiimote acting as a VOIP phone are false.

JessTicular posted this news:
The basic idea of Spider Solitair is to make piles of cards that go from K - A of the same suit.
Once you've made the pile, it is taken out and put at the bottom.
You can only move cards on top of each other if they are in number sequence.
So, in the screenshot, one of the 2's in the middle can be moved over onto the 3 on the right.
But, the 10 cannot be put on the Q just to the right of it, as there is no J there.
It gets harder when you play with more than 1 suit, as you can put, for example a 6 - A of Diamonds onto a K- 7 of Spades, but they can't go out as they are not all the same suit ( You have K - A, but different suits ).
That then means that you cannot pick up any of the cards above the 6, since there is a different suit breaking them.
The best way to figure it out is to have a bash with 1 suit, then try 2.
You'll pick it up quite quickly since the rules are relatively simple to get the hang of.
Jess.

Angor posted this news about his DS Game:
I have lost my backpack in a motorway restaurant somewhere in Germany. My Nintendo DS and the M3 development kit where there. Up to now, there are are no signs whoever found it has tried to return it (my ipod was also there, so i guess someone had anticipated Christmas...)
Luckily, I had a copy of the Snowball game development files in my PC, but without real hardware to test in, further progress in the game development will be quite slow... I will try to get a new Nintendo DS and M3, but this no doubt will require time and (sigh!) money.

Lazyone has released a new build of his port of Wolf3D to the Nintendo DS, heres whats new:
I included a romdiskfs and changed the FAT driver to the one found in REIN, so that should help most of you run this app.
Try running the .nds version first, if that fails then the .ds.gba version will probably work.

The team behind the Map Editor for Animal Crossing have released a new update to their Map Editor, heres whats new:
Catalog-fill working better. Now fills fish and bugs (again). Per player option.
Added a few more "not used" items that may be fun to play with (like single use disappearing umbrellas)
Support for more dangerous items in your inventory (or wardrobe). Commonly called 'glitched' or 'seeds'
Editor has 3 danger levels.
Danger Level 0 - safe items like in past releases, no known problems
Danger Level 1 - 'glitched' flowers, 'glitched' trees, 'glitched' patterns, 'glitched' weeds. Fun to play with. Can be used to vandelize towns, but not break them.
Danger Level 2 - 'glitched' special trees (like money tree and furniture tree). Should be safe like Level 1 items, but don't place too many of them in a town. Also some non-permanent but irritating-to-get-rid-of items.
Does not include Danger Level 3 (rocks, permanent), or Danger Level 4 ("mansion seeds" and other building seeds). May be added in future releases if people play nice.
For more details, see the Danger Level topic
