Alex has released a new version of his game for the DS:
One week after first public version, the final version 1.0 is now available.
New features:
- Credits screen has been completely redesigned.
- Hi scores screen has been completely redesigned.
- Online rankings for every game are visible on the NDS (Wifi required).
- Daily challenge rankings for the last 15 days are visible on the NDS (Wifi required).
- There is now a button to send all scores for all games/levels via Wifi.
Bugs fixed:
- In ‘pattern’ (Picross) game, with a 13×13 grid, if the number of a run of black squares is 10 or more, we only see “1″ instead of, for example, “12″… (thanks to William and Chris for this one)
- Icons disappeared after solving the game, but never coming back when pressing “again” to restart the game.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has told GamesIndustry.biz that he believes a higher spec, HD-enabled "Wii 2" could be on the shelves "in a couple of years".
Pachter's comments came in response to those made by SEGA executive Scott Steinberg, who expressed concern about the long term future of Nintendo's console.
"I think that a lot of people consider the Wii a "fad", and attribute that conclusion to the type of people who have been attracted to the Wii so far," Pachter said, observing that many publishers "don't know what to do with" the new demographics of female and older gamers.
"Sega, of course, has games like Sonic that resonate well with this audience, so I'm not singling them out as having an issue, but it appears to me that these non-traditional consumers baffle most of the publishers," he continued.
"As they are unaccustomed to dealing with them this early in the cycle, they have to justify their oversight in not anticipating the strength of the Wii with this group by labelling the group as having no staying power, resulting in the labelling of the Wii as a fad."
With regard to Steinberg's suggestion that developers are reaching the limits of creative possibility when it comes to the Wii's remote control, Pachter said, "I can't begin to imagine what is on the drawing board for the Wii, but I can say that most developers I've spoken with are extemely excited about the potential for the console... I believe that we've only just scratched the surface.
"Also, Scott's analysis presupposes that we have seen the last in hardware innovation from Nintendo," he went on.
"I disagree. It's easy to envision a Wii 2 in a couple of years that runs at full HD, and has both a Wii-mote and an analog controller, so that all games can be ported to it.
"If Nintendo were to introduce such a device, it would be fully comparable to the Xbox 360 - perhaps it wouldn't have Blu-ray, so a comparison to the PS3 may be unfair - and would likely have most of the same third party content as the other two devices."
But Pachter did agree with Steinberg that the PS3 "will ultimately come out on top". Victory, he predicted, will be the result of a console price cut to USD 199 and the success of Blu-ray.
Price point is key, said Pachter - observing that 80 per cent of all Xboxes sold in the US were purchased for USD 199 or less, with the figure approximately the same for PlayStation 2.
"Sony is around 6 million units behind Microsoft, and should be able to make up the gap - barely - by 2009 if they price the console correctly. They will likely be 9 million units behind the Wii by the end of this year, so it may take a bit longer to catch Nintendo, likely 2011 or so," Pachter concluded.

via Games Industry
Sega's Scott Steinberg has reaffirmed the publisher's ongoing support for Nintendo after suggesting the Wii may look "dated" in the next few years.
As reported last week, Steinberg told Reuters he was "concerned" about the "creative depth of the Wii pool", and about how the machine would match up once developers start exploiting the full power of PS3 and Xbox 360.
He has since released an additional statement to Reuters confirming that Sega is committed to Wii - and calling on the entire industry to produce new innovations.
"Sega has fully supported the Wii since day one and we continue to do so - it’s no secret that we are close partners. Nintendo has done a masterful job of selling its vision and expanding the market," Steinberg said.
"That said, it’s a shared responsibility and opportunity for the whole industry to take advantage of the possibilities of the Wii. If we don’t realise its true potential, we will have missed a great opportunity to expand creatively and that is what I was cautioning against in the Reuters interview."
According to Steinberg, producing new innovations is not a duty which only rests on Nintendo's shoulders. "It’s on Sega and all the publishers and developers as well to carry that flag," he concluded.

Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick recently discussed the company's positive reception towards Nintendo's Wii and DS, urging their publishers to come up with a DS and wii strategy.
Thanks to NeoGAF reader Starchasing for the tip.
To be perfectly frank, I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to realize what’s going on with Wii and DS. I will tell you that very quickly we turned to both 2K and to Rockstar and said guys, we need a DS strategy and a Wii strategy and we are working on it. As we get into the next quarter and into budget season for 2008, everybody in this company is completely focused on it.
Having said that, development cycles are long. Sports aren’t as good as games develop for specific platforms but we are looking at all of them across the board for Wii and DS. I will tell you that carnival games that we’ve announced for the Wii have gotten a lot of attention in the marketplace, as well as with our first-party partners. So we are pretty excited about that.
We have some -- some have been announced, some Wii titles have been announced and we are working to put more out on the Wii and DS.

First public video released running the Gamecube emulator for Windows.
This is what the beta tester said:
Just to get ride once for all of those people that still think it's fake.
Here's a video I recorded last night using HyperCam (not FRAPS). In this video you will see the main emulator running, it's output console, the folder with the files in the back and th hypercam window.
NOTE1: The video speed isn't the real speed the game would be going. It's slower due to Hypercam running over it (and using some of the CPU).
NOTE2: The video is encoded in xvid. You will need this decoder installed in order to be able to watch the video.
