Conspiracy Entertainment will publish nine Wii-exclusive titles in the US, all from developer Data Design Interactive.
The developer claims to have over 30 Wii titles due for release this year, with Conspiracy picking up games including Ninjabread Man, Billy the Wizard and Offroad Extreme.
"We have an ambitious release schedule and new distribution network to build in Europe, so we are pleased and excited to work together with Conspiracy Entertainment who already have the experience and contacts throughout North America and Asia," said Stewart Green, president of Data Design Interactive.
"We are convinced that their experience and professional approach will help us to establish and expand our gaming brands in the US and Asian markets."

Nintendo is inviting developers large and small to produce new downloadable games to be sold through the Wii Shop Channel.
The initiative, called "Wii Software" here and "WiiWare" in the US, was announced at a private developers' conference this week and confirmed to press in Europe this afternoon.
"Wii Software provides developers with big ideas - rather than big budgets - an easy and very accessible way to create new games and bring them to the marketplace," European marketing director Laurent Fischer explained.
The service would also offer "great additional value for Wii owners who will be able to download fresh new games", Fischer added.
The first Wii Software titles will launch in early 2008. Users will pay for games using Wii Points.
Nintendo has always said it intended for the Wii Shop to host original downloadable games, but until now the company has only offered budget-priced downloads from the back catalogues of NES, SNES and N64 consoles - as well as SEGA's Megadrive and Hudson's TurboGrafx-16 - through its "Virtual Console" initiative.
Bringing new-game downloads online in 2008 will put the platform holder belatedly into line with Sony and Microsoft, whose PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles already support the option.
Nintendo, however, will be hoping that the Wii's unique motion-sensing control options will inspire developers to produce more interesting software than can be found on either of its competitors' platforms.

Sektor has released an updated version of his game for the DS, heres the info from the page:
Andrew Jenner created Digger Remastered. Maxim Sobolev converted it to use SDL. I did a quick port of the SDL version to Nintendo DS. This is a classic game originally by Windmill Software. You have to dig around the map and eat all the emeralds or kill all the hobbins/nobbins to pass a level. I have not added sound to the DS version yet (I don't think Digger's SDL sound code is complete but I can easily add new sounds). If you have a DLDI compatible device, scores will be saved to digger.sco on the root of your card.
Controls:
D-pad to move
A to shoot
Select to pause (I know Start is normally pause, I didn't pick Select, it just worked out that way)
Just for fun, I tacked on motion support. You can connect a DS Motion Card at anytime and use tilt to move instead of d-pad

New from Xflash:

I included (cf sources) 192 files XML of patterns of shooting. Some pass very well, others request our poor DS enormously. At all events to be able to judge performance, test this release only on hardware and not on emulator. I soupconne strongly that the intensive use of the software interruptions (SWI) related to mathematics are very badly emulated…: - (

Brandon has updated his Roguelike RPG Game for the DS and GBA (2 Seperate Versions), heres the long whats new:
Warning: The keyboard handling for SDL started as an ugly hack trying to present to POWDER the button layout of the GBA. I've largely removed that hack in exchange for a system that uses peeking of keys rather than trying to track keyboard states. This should be easier to manage and less error prone. However, be warned that there may be cases where hitting the wrong key causes POWDER to hang. If you encounter such a thing, please let me know! Similarly, you will note the repeat rate for keypresses is now unified. I'd appreciate any comments if this is a better or worse situation.
Exciting: This version introduces the ability to replace POWDER's tile set on platforms other than the GBA by merely adding the correct file to the correct directory. Look for the Art Pack which has directions on how to do this.
I've hit my 256th tile. ARGH!!!
Added Belweir's library to level 21.
Minotaur moved up to level 15, caverns now start a level earlier.
The creature memory of your intrinsics is now saved.
Creature kill list now sorted by creature difficulty - highest expvalue creatures will show first.
If you fizzle a wand zap, the wand is now marked as cursed.
Throwing cursed weapons or potions has a chance of fumbling and throwing them on the ground. In this case their cursed state will be noted.
New skill, ambidextrous.
The floppy hat and plain robes are gaudy, not guady. (David Damerell)
Wielding a platemail in the off hand no longer grants you a powerful shield.
You can now patch the Windows, Linux, and DS versions by adding a subdirectory called "gfx" with the appropriate .bmp files. You can find template .bmp files inside the latest artpack. The new graphics options show up as "From Disk" in the Tile menu.
Due to a mixup in the DS community, I've taken a hit to my humility stat to add my name to the title screen. Hopefully this clears up the confusion there.
Your armour value now reflects your skill in your armour, so as you gain skills your armour value will go up. You will see much higher values now, but the underlying code hasn't changed.
Funny messages inform you if you try to walk out of the map. (David Damerell)
Lava tiles are always lit now.
Quizar's level is now dark.
Chainmail is a flexible, not an flexible.
Paper items that fall in lava burn now.
Divination now spelled correctly. (David Damerell)
Corpses, statues, and bones are now "a brown slug corpse". This is shorter than "a corpse of a brown slug" and also avoids embarassing phrases like "stop playing with corpses of a brown slug". (David Damerell)
Sapphire, not saphire. Conscious, not concious. Rat tails, not tales. (David Damerell)
[L] and [R] work as page up and page down in text viewers.
If your secondary weapon is two handed, it will no longer attack during dual wield.
You are explicitly allowed to put two handed weapons in your off hand if your primary hand is single-handed. They will not dual-wield but this may be useful in the case of staves.
Equipping a two handed weapon will dequip your shield to free up the space.
[SDL] 100% CPU usage on some menus is fixed. (R. Alan Monroe)
[SDL] Previously, it was possible to get into a bad state where POWDER will be idle but would stop accepting key presses. This would often happen on info screens. This has been fixed, but I may have introduced new problems :< (R. Alan Monroe)
[Linux] The executable bit should be set on the powder executable in Linux. (David Damerell)

You think the Wii Billiards Controller Attachment that we first mentioned here was ridiculous? You havent seen anything until you saw the Wii Cooking Kit Controller Attachment! Item retails for $13. What other weird peripherials will they come out with next? They have already came out with products like the Wii Sport extensions, Zelda Sword and Shield Extensions, Pool Cue stick, Wii Cooking and whats next? We should have a poll on what other weird products they will come up with next.

Via WiiLi.org
WiiRemoteJ is a free Java API and library for interacting with a Nintendo(R) Wii(tm) Remote through Bluetooth(R). WiiRemoteJ aims to do two things: first, it aims to create an easily accessible interface for Java developers wanting to work with the Wii Remote. Second, it aims to provide tools for developers using the Wii Remote to speed development. WiiRemoteJ comes with a complete (to my knowledge) javadoc, detailing every public class, field, and method. In addition, WiiRemoteJ aims to duplicate many of the same ideologies and methods used in the main Java libraries. This should allow developers to jump into the development process relatively quickly.
"Yes, it's finally here! And I am very very very very very sorry for the delay. I wanted to add all of these new features, and I was working on this massive other project (related to it), and I just didn't get the stuff done. So, I decided that new features, etc. were better suited for version 1.1. I did a little bit of touch-up work, and here it is. Feel free to post comments in this thread, and feel free to spread the news where ever you wish (I'm bad at publicity). Smile Please submit any bug reports via email or in the WiiRemoteJ section on the forum. That's all. Enjoy! "

Newly released today at Play Asia

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager’s recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort, preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned. Fearing that Hogwarts’ venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort’s return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge’s Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves “Dumbledore’s Army,” Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.
With the ability to play multiple characters, including Harry Potter, Dumbledore and Sirius Black, the videogame of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix offers fans the opportunity to wield a wand, explore all around Hogwarts, and experience one of the most exciting and dangerous years in the life of the Boy Who Lived.

We knew Nintendo was closing in on Sony in terms of market value before, but now the line has been crossed. Nintendo Co. Ltd. shares were up 1.5% to ¥46,150 early on Monday (remember, they’re ahead of us). Its overall market value rose to ¥6.54 trillion (US$53 billion). In comparison, Sony Corp. shares fell 1.1% to ¥6,480, the company’s market value now totaling ¥6.50 trillion.
As a result, Nintendo is now in the Top 10 companies in market value in Japan for the first time ever. Among those on the list are Toyota Motor Corp., Honda Motor Co. Ltd., and Canon Inc.

Well, today is the day the Wi-Fi service launches on the Wii, by way of a little-known game called Pokemon Battle Revolution. Other games release for the console this week, sure, but none bring with them the level of appeal and publicity Nintendo's online flagship title does.
This week's releases include:- Pokemon Battle Revolution
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Chicken Shoot
- The Bigs
- Driver Parallel Lines
- Transformers The Game
Who's ready to take the game online?

While we continue to wait for Nintendo to go official with its "Zapper Style" shell for the Wiimote, enterprising hackers have some Far Cry Vengeance to smack down, and AcidMod's "cyberpyrot" is doing it old school. The hack is about as simple as they come, he merely rewired the Wiimote's IR sensor to the front of his NES Zapper, and hooked up the trigger to the Wiimote's trigger button. He plans to strap the Wiimote to his wrist, for easy access weapon changes, and while the mod is lacking in elegance, cyberpyrot claims his FPS performance has "vastly improved." Alright Nintendo, your turn.
