Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, heading for Wii later this year, could be one of the best FPS games ever made according to early impressions from Play magazine, who also revealed some juicy new details (OMG Spoilers!).
MP3 is very much aimed at the hardcore gamer, says the preview (via GoNintendo). The controls, which use the Wii Remote like a gun while you move with the Nunchuk (ala Red Steel) have been greatly refined according to the magazine, who goes so far as to say that it betters dual-analogue setups.
An 'advanced' control option makes the pointer extra sensitive for more confident players, and visor switching is done by holding the minus button and flicking the Remote in different directions.
The game will now feature weapon stacking (whereby you combine different beams to make one stronger beam, rather than switch between them) which is back from the days of Super Metroid - something we're very pleased to hear.
Play also revealed (here come those spoilers) that the first level begins with Samus being attacked while meeting with the captain of another spaceship, where she is embroiled in a chaotic battle. This levels later ends with a battle with fan favourite, Ridley.
The second level is apparently set in a floating city. Larger environments means a far bigger emphasis is placed on open exploration, as Metroid games should be.
Alas, no multiplayer options were revealed.

The rowdy royal, Princess Zelda, is confirmed to turn up for another round of brutal Nintendo battle in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
She was a bit garbage in Melee, and the official Brawl site admits that her mobility isn't too hot in the sequel either, but does say that she'll be making up for that with magic powers that enhance her physical attacks. There's no sign of a Sheik form though, in case you're wondering.
And Friday's update that no-one cared about was on the new Lylat Cruise level (based on Star Fox games), which has you fighting on top of a large ship as it flies through an asteroid field, fights with other ships and flies down into the atmosphere of Corneria.

Nintendo has become one of the top ten most valuable Japanese companies, alongside household names such as Toyota, Canon and Honda.
Shares of Nintendo have risen to a record JYP 46,350 (EUR 279), valuing the company at JPY 6.57 trillion (EUR 39.5 bn).
The Kyoto-based company now tops rival Sony, which is currently valued at 6.48 trillion (EUR 38.9 bn), according to Bloomberg.
Sales of the Nintendo Wii in Japan were 251,794 in May, according to data from Enterbrain.
The company has sold 17,655,799 units of the DS handheld since launch and 2,734,994 Wii consoles.
North American NPD figures for May revealed that the Wii sold more units than the combined sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
"We thank the high evaluation on us from the market," commented company spokesperson Ken Toyoda. "We want to meet market expectations with expansion of our DS and Wii sales."
For the last financial year Nintendo posted revenues of JPY 966.5 billion (EUR 5.8 bn), and forecast JPY 1.14 trillion (EUR 6.8 bn) this business year.

Sektor has updated his DiggerDS game, heres whats new:
Andrew Jenner created Digger Remastered. Maxim Sobolev converted it to use SDL. I did a quick port of the SDL version to Nintendo DS. This is a classic game originally by Windmill Software. You have to dig around the map and eat all the emeralds or kill all the hobbins/nobbins to pass a level. I have not added sound to the DS version yet. Fixing the memory leak that causes the DS to freeze after approx 10 minutes is more important. I think the memory leak is in Digger's SDL video code. Feel free to fix it and release the code. If you have a DLDI compatible device, scores will be saved to digger.sco on the root of your card.
Controls:
D-pad to move
A to shoot
Select to pause (I know Start is normally pause, I didn't pick Select, it just worked out that way)
Just for fun, I tacked on motion support. You can connect a DS Motion Card at anytime and use tilt to move instead of d-pad

News/release from Chadkeck:
DrinkS is a utility to help you and your pals with your power hour and century club excursions.
What is power hour or century club? They are drinking games where you take one shot of beer
every minute for either one hour (power hour) or 100 minutes (century club).
Doesn't sound like much drinking? Let's do the math:
One shot = 1.5 ounces
One shot * 60 minutes = 90 ounces
12 ounces per beer (bottle or can)
90 / 12 = 7.5 beers in an hour!
Or one shot * 100 minutes = 150 ounces
150 / 12 = 12.5 beers in a little over 1.5 hours!
=== GAMEPLAY ===
Just boot up DrinkS, select either power hour or century club and start the drinking.
DrinkS displays the amount of drinks taken, seconds until next drink, starting time, and current time.
A great feature of DrinkS is the audio cues:
Start of game: Super Mario Bros. coin sound
Every minute: Super Mario Bros. power up sound
5 minutes to the end: Super Mario Bros. hurry up sound
End: Super Mario Bros. game over sound
=== DISCLAIMER ===
By running DrinkS you agree to this disclaimer:
I am not responsible for:
- you waking up with an ugly girl / guy
- vomit destroying your DS / carpeting
- crashing your car if you are dumb enough to drive after drinking
- nauseua the next day
- phallic drawings on your face
- any other emotional or physical injuries resulting from game play
If you do not agree to the disclaimer, you may use DrinkS as a cooking timer
But seriously, be smart with your drinking. Don't hurt anyone!
