svpe_ has released a new version of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for the Nintendo GameCube/Wii.
Heres What's new?
* Wii support (PAL50 fix, 1.35GiB restriction removed)
* 7zip ROM loading support from the DVD (not from a SD card!!)
* dvd_read fix (the read data was always copied to readbuffer instead of *dst)
* slower file selection when using the D-Pad (I didn't like the selection to go as fast as in the latest release)

News from Team Cyclops
Today heralds the unveiling of CycloDS Evolution’s surprise hardware feature – support for MicroSDHC memory cards!
MicroSDHC (SD High Capacity) is the new standard for compact flash memory cards which offers far greater capacity than traditional MicroSD memory cards. Whilst the maximum capacity supported by traditional MicroSD is a mere 2gigabytes, MicroSDHC supports up to a mammoth 32gigabytes. CycloDS Evolution breaks the memory capacity barrier by being first NDS flash cart to implement support for MicroSDHC cards. Furthermore, MicroSDHC cards are not backwards compatible so any device not designed specifically to support MicroSDHC will not be able to take advantage of these new high capacity cards.
Given that SDHC is a new technology, you may be wondering what the importance of the new generation’s cards will be now and in the future. We all know that flash memory prices tumble quickly, and that’s why it’s imperative to buy a flash cart which supports the new SDHC standard. Whilst 2GB cards have been the staple diet of users for the last few months, the pricing has plummeted. This trend will move over to larger size cards, which means that 4 GB cards may end up having the same pricing of 2GB cards in a few months. If the flash cart you choose does not support SDHC then you’ll be stuck with purchasing 2 GB or smaller memory devices. This means in the end poor value for money. Given the great success of NDS and its ever expanding library of titles, memory storage value for money becomes ever more important as your list of favourites grows by the week. Having several SD cards becomes a nuisance and very impractical.
MicroSDHC cards are currently available as 4GB for now, with higher capacity cards expected in the near future.
Buy CycloDS Evolution

After a bit of a while, it's here. Tap the screen to pluck, stroke to strum. Expect a white screen for 2-3 seconds whilst it's loaded into RAM. Enjoy and give feedback! (Not guitar feedback, silly!)

Capcom's Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition missed out on the top spot in the Japanese charts for the week ended June 3, as DS title Practice by Observing: DS Observation Training took the number one position.
Both titles are new releases, but Nintendo's DS game sold almost 95,000 units on its first week of release, compared to Capcom's latest horror game which managed almost 44,000 sales.
The only other new entry in the top ten was Guilty Gear XX Accent Core for the PlayStation 2, which managed to shift around 32,000 copies.
Nintendo has a total of 20 DS titles in the top 30 and five Wii titles. Sony has three PlayStation 2 and two PSP games in the charts. There are no PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games in the top 30.
The ten best-selling games in Japan for the week ended June 3 follow:
1. Practice by Observing: DS Observation Training
2. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
3. Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
4. Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
5. Wii Sports
6. More Brain Age
7. New Super Mario Bros.
8. Wii Play
9. More English Training
10. Momatarou Dentetsu DS: Tokyo & Japan

Stylus not enough control for you? Then you'll want to pick up Nintendo's newest DS game. The latest issue of Famitsu has the first word on Slide Adventure: Mag Kid, a new DS game that will make use of a bundled "slide controller" peripheral.
The slide controller plugs into the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot and, laying beneath the system, looks somewhat like a stand. As you slide the DS around on a table, the controller picks up your movements. This is how you move the main character about the overhead fields of play.
The main character in question is the Mag Kid of the title. This peculiar circular creature has special magnetic properties which makes things attach to him. You'll have to use this special power to solve puzzles that take place about a house.
Mag Kid has a few special moves that make use of the slide controls. Sliding the DS in an enemy's direction makes Mag Kid ram into and paralyze the enemy. Paralyzed enemies can be attached to Mag Kid, giving him, depending on the enemy type, special powers, including lasers and fire breath. Finally, when you've lost interest in your support crew, you shake the DS to release them.
Mag Kid seems capable of attaching a small army of enemies to himself -- at least eight from what we've been able to gather. Some stages require that you create chains of enemies in the correct order.
As one example of the gameplay we can expect from the game, Famitsu details a boss fight in which Mag Kid faces off against the flames from four burners on a stove (the Four Flame Brothers, as they're known). To defeat the boss, you attach water drops to Mag Kid, then toss them at the flames.
Sounds like another cool gameplay concept from Nintendo, although we're wondering if the game will support the stylus for situations where you can't place the system on the ground (like on a train, or when you're hang gliding). A Japanese release for Mag Kid is set for 8/2, so expect further details to surface shortly.

The Atari2600 was the first console as a very young lad i remember seeing and playing and today the Chuckster releases a new version of his Atari 2600 Emulator for the Nintendo DS and it comes with a load of Homebrew games for the Atari 2600
Heres whats new:
All right, here's a much-needed StellaDS Atari 2600 emulator update before the major overhaul begins. Changes include:
DLDI and libfat support for all of the new flash cartridges
Updated to latest devkitpro toolchain
Long-awaited streaming sound without any crackling and popping noises
Code optimizations (code in the ITCM and the new armv5te compiler optimizations)
Faster speed but still not 100%
Usability enhancements with the menus (key repeat, no more bogus dot entries)
So now the sound finally works as it should, and many more people with microSD cards and the like can enjoy StellaDS. Look forward for more features in the future! Wifi multiplayer Warlords or Pong anyone? How about 100% speed via an assembly-optimized CPU emulator? I can't make any guarantees, but I'm definitely trying to implement these features.

New from Play Asia
Kabu Trader Shun is about a young stock trader named Shun Aiba. Shun's father was a trader who went bankrupt and disappeared when he was 13. Five years later, you are summoned by your father's former trading partner, Toru Narasaki, who wishes to teach you the tricks of the trade. Shun is joined by Hanako Kirikagura, the daughter of a family of entrepreneurs and Toru's pupil.
The gameplay is spilt into two parts: adventure and trading. Adventure mode is apparently much like Capcom's Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) series, where Shun travels around town furthering the story. Trading mode consists of Shun battling against rival traders, earning a set amount of money, or trading with an AI partner. Shun can purchase or gain Trading Arts to increase his skills in this mode.

Sega's Yosuke Okunari recently sat down to discuss various aspects of its forthcoming Wii exclusive port of the arcade game 'Ghost Squad', covering how it will differ from the original and the potential of other shooters coming to Wii. Below are some excerpts from the interview:
--------------------------
IGN Wii: Have the graphics been changed for the better or worse in the transition to Wii?
Yosuke Okunari: The graphics are customized for the Wii console. However, I think the users who have played the arcade version should have little discomfort.
IGN Wii: As far as gameplay is concerned, how does the shooter feel on Wii? Is there any IR calibration in-game, or was it not needed? What kind of options have been included for Wii players?
Yosuke Okunari: With the household TV becoming sophisticated, gun shooting games were only available in arcades for a certain time. However, Wii enabled the players to enjoy gun shooting games at their own houses. What's more, you don't have to buy any additional peripherals. This is a simple story, but very important. Ghost Squad should probably be the first gun shooting game on Wii. And people should be able to rediscover the excitement of gun shooting games.
IGN Wii: Sega has a plethora of light gun games in its arsenal. Why start with Ghost Squad?
Yosuke Okunari: Ghost Squad is not a series title, but we thought it would be perfect for our first challenge on the new hardware. And we also think the depth of the game is suited for home video games. Of course, Sega still has a lot of very attractive gun shooting games and in my personal opinion, I think we should continue releasing them on Wii. However, I can not tell you about our future plans yet.

The ii Case HOT ROCK CASE is a new innovation in case modding technology. With a built in Digital LED thermometer, the HOT ROCK CASE is able to alert the user by changing the LED color when the Wii console reaches certain temperatures. Color changes takes place in 5 degree increments. For example, if your Wii console's temperature reaches over 55 degree Celsius, the LED will display 'RED' and start flashing. This will alert the user to turn off the console and check for potential problems and the reason for this heating.
And besides that, it looks amazing with a revolutionnary custom look!
Hot Rock case (color changing chart)
Temperature (Celsius) / Chameleon LED color
- Below 29 c : Light blue
- 30-35 c : Blue
- 36-40 c : Green
- 41-41c : Yellow
- 46-50 c : Orange
- 50-54 c : Red
