beril has released Helium Boy 0.91 :
Helium Boy Wii is a port of an old game I made a few years ago. It's a simple 3d platform game inspired by the Nintendo classic Balloon Fight. You fly using helium balloons and collect stars while watching out for birds and flying ninjas, and try to reach the end of the level.
The Game uses Wiimote+Nunchuck and is only compatible with front SD slot. Extract the files into apps\ in the root of the SD card and launch from the Homebrew Channel.
Update
Released version 0.91 that works in the latest version of Homebrew Channel. I haven't tested it on the old version, so v0.9 is still available on http://www.beril.se/wii --Beril 07:54, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Todo
Add music playback.
Fix weird instant death bug.
Fix culling bug.

beril has released projectGMC 0.11.
Project GMC is a straight forward 2.D platformer where you jump and shoot and battle evil robots. The development isn't really very far along yet, but I don't have any time too work on it right now so I though I might as well upload what I have.
It uses the same engine as Helium Boy, but there has been many improvements and new features, such as: real time shadows, optimized skinning, new particle effect system, depth blur, environment mapping and a bunch of other render effects.
The game uses the Wiimote sideways and is only compatible with front SD slot. Extract the files into apps\ in the root of the SD card and launch from the Homebrew Channel.
Update
Released version 0.11 that works in the latest version of Homebrew Channel. I haven't tested it on the old version, so v0.1 is still available on http://www.beril.se/wii --Beril 07:53, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

JigPu has released LightsOut 1.01 :
LightsOut is a version of the classic light-extinguishing puzzle Lights Out. The goal is, as hinted by the name, to turn off all lights on the game board. Pressing a light causes it and its four neighbors to toggle on and off. Lights that were off will turn on, and lights that were on turn off. Despite the simple rules and goal, games take most players several minutes to complete.
Gameplay
Each game begins with lights randomly off or on. To make a move, move the on-screen cursor to the group of lights you wish to change. When you press a light, it and its four neighbors will toggle from off to on, and vice-versa. Lights that are on are a bright green, while those that are off are gray. Play continues until you have caused all the lights on the board to be turned off. Once you've won a game, a new one will be automatically started. You can exit at any time durring a game.
Good moves are usually not obvious to players, but there is an option for those who become frustrated... Cheating! Cheating causes the computer to make a move which will get you closer to completing the game. Cheating several times in a row will spoil most of the solution, but can be useful if you find yourself stuck.
As your skill improves, LightsOut offers several ways to challenge yourself. Move counters, game timers, and additional difficulty levels all let you hone your skill. Increasing the difficulty causes lights to take on additional colors, with the sequence each light goes through displayed at the bottom right in the "color map". A maximum difficulty of 7 is available, which should be sufficient for even the most skilled of players.
Changelog

nicksasa has released FSToolbox 0.2
FS Toolbox is a NAND browser that can dump files from the nand to sd card and write files from sd card to the nand, with this you can edit files on the nand to test stuff out and to have backups of your files if something ever goes wrong.
A new function is that you can set the pointer onto a TMD file in the selected title id and then press 2, you will be able to select the IOS version the channel uses and fakesign it after that.
Warning
FS Toolbox is a dangerous program, and it is advised that you only use it if you have a sufficient understanding of how the Wii system memory works and what files not to mess with. You should probably use BootMii as boot2 to backup your Wii before continuing.
The creator of this application takes no responsibility for the damage that you may cause to your console when using this.
Update History
0.2 - May 30, 2009
Fixed code dump on dumping + 10 MB tested 130 MB without code dump now (probably more )
Added function to change the IOS a channel uses by patching the tmd & fakesigning it

Hi, everyone.
Aside from my main projects, I like to do some small ones to waste time and to have some fun. DSMediaCenter is one of those "smaller" projects. Don't be deceived though, as DSMediaCenter is no small, laughing matter. This is a full-fledged launcher/movie player and has very powerful potential. I kept this project secret for a while, but as it seems since I am done with it, I may as well release it to all you; the public. This may be even used as a firmware replacement if you wanted, which is what I use it for. I hope you have fun with this application.
these screenshots are of the launcher only, as this was the version BEFORE I implemented FAT support.
I've uploaded the most recent snapshots to my newly founded gallery at http://dphone.palib.info/gallery.php
All the directions needed are in the readme.txt file included in the RAR. Do as those directions say, and you'll be on your way to happiness in no time
DOWNLOAD: http://dphone.palib.info/downloads/DSMediaCenter.rar
For help, questions, comments, or suggestions, please visit http://dphone.palib.info/viewcomments.php and place a comment there OR email me at hillbilly_palib@yahoo.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks, hillbilly

With just days to go before the gaming world goes wild at E3, the hotly anticipated DJ Hero is now spinning on its very own website. Granted, a few of the sections are still labeled as "coming soon," but we're given a few more sneak peeks at the hardware, the gameplay and even a duo of handy links to pre-order it. According to listings on both GameStop and Amazon, the software and turntable are slated to ship on October 27th, with the bundle priced at $119.99 for all four of the major consoles (yes, new games are still being made for the PS2). Better still, the latter e-tailer has the Jay-Z Special Edition Bundle listed for Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii, though neither of those are accompanied by MSRPs or expected ship dates. And to think, those are just two of our 99 problems...

insin has released POWDER 111-1 :
A port of POWDER to the Wii using SDL Wii.
To understand POWDER, you should first understand roguelikes. "Roguelike" is a term applied to a wide variety of games which share a common inspiration from the game Rogue. A non-exhaustive list of such games would be: ADOM, Nethack, Crawl, Diablo (I & II), Moria, and Angband. My apologies to the many excellent roguelikes I didn't list. What characterizes these games? The exact specifications are a matter of debate - indeed, I may receive hate mail for including Diablo - but I shall try to write a few:
Tactical play. The unit of action is based on the individual adventurer. The game is not twitch oriented (like Quake, rewarding reflexes & well trained actions) nor is it strategy oriented (like Civilizations or Warcraft, requiring working on the large picture)
Based in Hack and Slash. A roguelike isn't primarily about plot development or telling a story. It is about killing things and acquiring treasure.
Random games. A roguelike is a dungeon crawler where no two games are the same. The maps are different, the items are different, there are no guaranteed win paths.
Permadeath. You die, that is it. No restoring a savegame. Good roguelikes delete your save game after loading them. This is compensated by the replayability of the game.
Complex interactions of properties. While the commands for a roguelike are simple, the potential interactions are not. My favourite example is equipping a silver ring as a weapon in order to damage a creature vulnerable to silver, but not one's other weapons. [Editor: This matches the Hack branch of the roguelike tree, not the Angband branch]
Steam rolling monsters. If a critter is in your way, and weak, you shouldn't even notice it is there.

Molokai has updated OpenTyrianWii to 1.1.2 :
A Port of the rail shooter OpenTyrian to Wii
Features
Full Wiimote+Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and USB Keyboard support, 95% GC Pad support.
Wiimote horizontal capable.
2 Player Arcade action.
Full input choice (you can use any Wiimote, classic controller or GC pad, no matter the sync, as well as the keyboard).
SD and SDHC support from the front SD slot.
About
This is a Wii adaptation of TYRIAN, the game edited by Eclipse and published by Epic MegaGames. The original game was programmed by Jason Emery, illustrated by Daniel Cook, and its music composed by Alexander Brandon and Andreas Molnar.
This port is based on OpenTyrian project code, maintained by mindless2112, syntaxglitch, emacs.hacker, yuriks.br.
This README file was based on the README found on Nuvalo's old one.
This port is separate from Nuvalo's port, and has now replaced it (as you can see). It is fully functional and much more stable than the Wii-Linux version.
This is not the version featured in the Homebrew Showcase linked on the main page (unfortunately). But trust me, it is better, and easier to use.
Gameplay
Tyrian is an arcade-style vertical scrolling shooter. The player controls a space ship fitted with different weapons and enhanced energy shields. Money is earned by destroying enemies and grabbing bonuses, which is then used to purchase upgrades such as weapons, shields, energy generators, and different ships from interlevel menus. The game is fast paced and presents a variety of enemies and bosses.
Changelog
1.1.2 - 28 May 2009
All DPads now support bidirectional movement. This makes the GC pad much more viable as a controller to use in OpenTyrianWii.
Fix confirmed for the CC DPad bug. It now only functions as a DPad.
Unconfirmed fix for HBC 1.0.2 and up (I tested it on my Wii with 1.0.3 and it worked).
Because of a bug in the joystick saving function, I have temporarily disabled it. Details in Controls.
As a note, turning the volume down on the sfx seems to diminish the popping in the audio, but only slightly. Still looking into a proper resampling.
Also, don't change the scaler to anything but scale2x. 2x is now a testing ground for the 640x480 upscale, and is unstable.

The game that started the Mario Kart series will be available on Japan’s Virtual Console next month. Since Nintendo plans to release Super Mario Kart in Japan it will probably come to North America too.
Final Fantasy II is also slated for the Virtual Console. Since it wasn’t properly translated and released overseas until Final Fantasy Origins on the PsOne chances are we won’t get the hit yourself to level up RPG.
Here’s the full list of games for Japan in June 2009:
Famicom (500)
Detective Saburo Jinguuji: Toki no Sugiyuku Mama ni
Final Fantasy II
Super Famicom (800)
Super Wagyan Land
Super Mario Kart
Virtual Console Arcade (800)
Altered Beast
Hopping Mappy

Coming one day in advance of the announced May 30th reveal date, a new trailer for No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle has just captured the hell out of our attention. Yes, that is a random shot of a luchador as a backdrop for Suda 51's credit -- why not.
If you wanted to see more of the dual-sword moves seen in the Famitsu scans, well, here you go -- this video is loaded with shots of an older-looking Travis Touchdown swinging two Beam Katanas around. It also introduces the new assassin Nathan Copeland, who starts his fight with Travis by throwing ladies at him. Even with that weirdness, the tone of this trailer is much more serious than before -- though it ends in a very No More Heroes way.

The Ring inspired Nanashi no Game mixed horror adventure with a cursed retro RPG. The sequel, Nanashi no Game Me (Nameless Game: The Eye) includes the RPG of the dammed and a cursed platformer that sort of looks like I Wanna Be The Guy. Look at all of those sharp guillotine blades…
The story stars you as a college student studying anthropology who gets linked to the cursed game thanks to your professor. Anyone who plays the cursed game dies in seven days so you need to find out how to break the curse.
When you search for clues Nameless Game: The Eye is like an adventure game. You move your character with the stylus and scan dark areas. Everything in the real world is in 3D. The “eye” part of the title refers to a new ability. Your left eye, represented by the left screen, can sense the occult and see supernatural phenomenon.
Nameless Game: The Eye is scheduled to come out in Japan on August 27. A North American release has not been announced at this time, but since Nanashi no Game is now a series I imagine Square Enix will publish these titles internationally.

Nintendo has released a trio of treats to download for the Wii and DS.
First up is Space Harrier, now available via the Virtual Console. It's the original arcade version of SEGA's classic shooter and will set you back 800 Wii Points, which is around GBP 7.
Or how about new WiiWare title Fish'em All!, which stars two fishermen called Jack and Walter. They live in a fantasy world where fish leap out of the water all day long. The game also costs 800 Points.
Or for the DSi there's Art Style: Nemrem (500 Wii Points). It's a logic puzzle where you have to match coloured panels with coloured spheres, using the stylus to slide them around. The challenge is to complete puzzles in as few moves as possible.

Ben Heck forum member Brian has built us a sweet little Nintendo-on-a-chip handheld that puts a Super Joy III KIRF TV game, a 2.5-inch display, a controller, and 4 AA batteries under the same roof. This bad boy not only allows you to play 76 games on the go (though, sadly, not at the same time), but it looks great doing it as well. Hit up that video after the read link and see for yourself.

I can’t get SavSend to work for everyone: Im unable to reproduce the problem; it works fine for me.
But as someone asked for it, here is the sourcecode. Compiles fine on devkitpro R21. It only makes use of libnds and libwifi~
http://n00bey.bplaced.net/?p=112
SavSend is a homebrew created by n00bey. That allows you to backup your genuine games cart's SRAM by sending it to your computer via wifi and an internet browser.
