If you have a few dozen minutes, might we direct your attention to Nintendo's investor relations page? The page is now home to an English language transcript of a Q&A session that was held during a Nintendo financial briefing on March 8.
Over three pages, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata addresses a number of issues, giving some hints at possible pricing strategy, and some tantalizing teases at big things to come for the end of the year.
One particularly notable point is about pricing. Previous quotes from Iwata suggested that the Nintendo CEO might be dead set against price drops. This may not be the case, however. In the Q&A, he clarified: "I have never said that cutting the suggested retail price is not in the cards. However, price cuts in one country can certainly affect other countries. For example, when you say that we should cut the price in Japan due to the current domestic market situation, once the suggested retail price is cut in Japan, people outside Japan will anticipate the same around the world."
The pricing comment was specifically in reference to the DS Lite. The questioner suggested that Nintendo drop the older system's price in Japan in order to spur increase sales.
Regardless of the system, Iwata still doesn't seem too keen on price drops at present. "While the price cut is said to surely increase demand," he explained, "it must be clear from a variety of analysis so far that the effect cannot last very long. Accordingly, if we really do enact a price cut, it must be exactly when it can maximize the business. At least for now, I have no specific ideas about the price cut at all."
Iwata also addressed the topic of used games. "If it were illegal acts like piracy, we could criticize them. But, however hard we may express our concern about the secondhand market, as long as they are not illegal, it does not do us any good."
Nintendo's solution to the used games problem? Explained Iwata: "Nintendo must continuously craft ideas so that our consumers will feel like owning the purchased products or think about how to motivate the customers to purchase new products instead of used ones."
And, just to whet your appetite for what will hopefully be a busy few weeks of Nintendo announcements as E3 approaches, here's what Iwata said about Wii sales: "The reason why I said today that April, May and June sales of Wii will not reach last year's results but that the situation will change from the summer of this year was because the company has been preparing for several titles to be launched toward the end of this year that can drive the market."
Perhaps a few of those titles will be shown at E3? Be sure and check out the full Q&A, and speculate away in the comments area below.

Square Enix uploaded a bunch of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days trailes on Japan’s Nintendo Channel. The videos aren’t new, but one clip shows characters outside of Organization XIII partnering with Roxas.
If you freeze frame the trailer at 4:45 you can see Donald and Goofy are playable characters (thanks for the tip Ricardo!!). This appears to be cut from multiplayer footage so it’s unclear if you can use either character in the story mode. The video also shows Sora in his bright red Kingdom Hearts 1 outfit bouncing around too. Whether Sora is playable or not is still up in the air.

GungHo games the publisher of Ragnarok Online DS and the upcoming Lunar remake also has a strategy RPG in their catalog. Hero’s Saga Laevatein quietly shipped in Japan last year. We mentioned it, but Laevatein caught little attention.
In spite of little buzz it looks like Laevatein will head overseas, but without help from Xseed. Hero of video game leaks, Gamefly, says a game called Laevatein Tactics will be ready in October (thanks wario4ever and Macstorm!). Aksys is listed as the publisher and given the name it’s very likely related to Hero’s Saga Laevatein. The date is likely a placeholder so we’ll mark this down a possible fall release for the Nintendo DS.
Aksys has mostly acted like Arc System Works USA, but occasionally they pick up RPGs like From the Abyss. Looks like Gungho is really expanding this year with Grandia Online going into beta and multiple international releases.

Go to the Mii Channel. Press A. Press B. Press 1. Press and hold 2.
Nintendo sent Kotaku copies of Personal Trainer: Walking yesterday, and while we think we don't need that much training to walk (left foot and then right foot, yes?), we are in fact learning things.
We have learned, for example, that the Wii possesses a previously hidden talent.
Try the button combo mentioned above and the image you see here will appear. You won't get Miis of Condoleezza Rice and Exclusives expert Geoff Keighley to appear. That's just on my Wii. But you will get proof that your Wii is capable of emitting your Miis to a DS.
Since launch, the Wii has been able to send Miis to Wii Remotes so that the Miis can be transmitted to other Wiis. And Miis have been snaggable via non-Nintendo Mii-editing computer programs.
But Miis hadn't made it to the DS. They can now that they have a home, as Nintendo informs us that Personal Trainer: Walking is the first DS game/walking-trainer) to support Miis.
On the DS, the Miis are used to demonstrate how far you walked. Like, you know, if you walked about 1000 steps between leaving your apartment this morning and getting to your downtown Manhattan office — with the help of the subway.
What other feats is your Wii capable of? Who knows. Start mashing some buttons.

Developer of well-received WiiWare game Swords & Soldiers has explained why it opted for Nintendo's service rather than Xbox Live Arcade: because it's easier.
In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Ronimo Games' Fabian Akker said: "It's so easy to get your games out there! It's much harder on Xbox Live. It was tough at first to get a license from Nintendo - we were just kids from school - but THQ helped us a lot.
"It's an open platform, it's relatively cheap and it gives you loads of freedom," he said. "And the Wii controls are perfect for the game. I found it really weird that there were no RTS games on the Wii. The Remote's pointer is perfect for the genre."
Akker said that for the same reasons Ronimo will probably stick with WiiWare for its next game: "It's [download games] definitely the future. Our next game will probably be on WiiWare too."

It was requested often. I now compiled some binaries for Linux operating systems. Please note that those come without a GUI or anything fancy. You get the WiiRd console! That’s it. It will work just as the Windows version does.
Please feel free to download the binaries for x86 and amd64 platforms at the download page. Source code will be released shortly!

So well.. it was time.. I did a minor round up of the code manager..
Changes are:
Name change.. the name Ocarina was removed all it does is leading to confusion
stores to /data/gecko/codes
if the publisher ID is 00 then it is striped out (assumes virtual console game)
game id length of 4 is acceptable
XP manifest
refreshes drive list when you open the save window (hotplug support)
256 line error was transformed to a 256 line warning - meaning that you can ignore it if you know what you’re doing!
Other than that.. nothing should have changed!

When Tomy started publishing Naruto games in North America they partnered with D3 Publisher for sales and distribution. Starting with Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 Tomy is taking care of everything.
Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 is Tomy’s first game with the grown up Naruto characters. This 2D side scroller covers the Rescue Gaara arc which means players can hit Deidara with a Rasengan and smack Neji with Sakura’s super strength in the four player wireless battle mode.
“Since launching in 2005, our long term strategy was always to eventually manage our own sales and distribution, and the expansion of our consumer software operations in 2008 was done with 2009 Naruto launches in mind,” a representative from Tomy explains. “Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 is the first Naruto game that Tomy Corporation is launching as a vertical games publisher.”
Last year Tomy published Penny Racers Party and Lovely Lisa, two games from Japan on their own. Tomy will independently publish Pangya: Fantasy Golf and from the sound of that quote more Naruto games this year. We have an idea of what those could be…
Sounds like Tomy is going to be a bigger presence in the future too which is a good sign for their other games in development like Toshinden and, perhaps, even their Hitman Reborn games.

There are so… many… Dragonball games these days. Most of them are fighting games, but every once in awhile Namco Bandai creates something refreshing with the license like Dragonball: Tenkaichi Daibouken.
Dragonball: Tenkaichi Daibouken (Dragonball: The Strongest On Earth Great Adventure) is a Wii exclusive and unlike Dragon Ball: Raging Burst it’s a 3D side scrolling adventure set in the original Dragonball universe. You control young Goku and run into famous characters from the series.
Namco Bandai plans to release Dragonball: Tenkaichi Daibouken in Japan this summer. A North American release date has not been announced at this time, but we’ll bet on an international release. Atari isn’t reluctant to publish Dragonball games and even if they were Namco Bandai would take care of this in a heartbeat.

Natsume has more Harvest Moon games slated for 2009 and these aren’t puzzle spin-offs. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade and Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands stick to what the series is known for crops and cuddly creatures.
Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is a localized version of Harvest Moon: Waku Waku Animal March which Marvelous brought to the Wii last year. A domestic release is scheduled for this fall. In the game players search for five bells to call the Harvest King and grow the Harvest Goddess’ tree on hippoback. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade has lots of animals you can ride and train. Teach tricks to penguins then share the photos by sending them via WiiConnect 24.
Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands takes characters from Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness and brings them into a new DS game. An earthquake shook up and sunk some of the islands many years ago. It’s up to you to raise them by finding the Sun Stones. Or maybe not. You can also spend your time living a quiet farming, family, fishing, mining, and badger caring life when Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands comes out this summer.

Pokémon has been around for a while now — since 1996. Maybe it's time to spice up the franchise with a little more action to the hugely successful role-playing-game franchise.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl game director Junichi Masuda is very keen on trying out new elements. "This is just an idea but...as you know, Pokémon is a role-playing game," Masuda tells game magazine Game Informer. "But, personally, I really like the action type of games, so we just talk about that sometimes. We probably want to add some kind action element to the game."
Why not, they've got the current formula down pat. If they're really interested in mixing things up, why not add guns and sharp objects? That's action out the whazoo right there.

Poisoft has a curious looking game called Oudaa or Order. The WiiWare title puts players in the role of a king. From the comfort of your throne you dispatch heroes and build your kingdom.
You could storm into other countries and declare military might. Or use diplomatic options to avoid war. Kings can ally with countries, even the antagonistic demon country by imposing embargos on healing herbs. For 1,000 Wii Points ($10) Order sounds like a pretty deep game.
Since events are described with words and you expand your infrastructure through menus Order is also a text heavy game. Even though Poisoft is a new developer (they were formed in 2008!) a game this large looks big enough for a niche publisher like Xseed to pick up.

The ESRB has outed another Star Wars Battlefront game, this time for DS and PSP.
Subtitled Elite Squadron, the listings (spotted by Kotaku) describes two subtly different titles.
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron on PSP is third-person action, for instance, whereas the DS version is action adventure. The DS blurb makes no mention of troop building or upgrading, which will apparently feature on PSP.
The PSP has hosted Star Wars Battlefront before, of course - most recently Renegade Squadron, which had great ideas and all the potential in the world, but lacked significant depth and longevity.
Star Wars: Battlefront III was thought to be in development at Haze maker Free Radical Design for PC, PS3 and 360. Free Radical entered administration last December, the collateral of which saw supposed footage of Battlefront III leak onto the internet.
British developer Rebellion is supposedly picking up the pieces, although the company is currently hard at work making Aliens vs. Predator for SEGA.
Maybe we'll see something Battlefront-related at E3 next week.
