We see tons of casemods, but the NES holds a special place in our hearts and memories, so anything in the black-redish orange-gray combo catches our eye pretty easily. The nesPod -- the fine work of flickr user recycledgamer -- is made of a gutted NES controller and an iPod mini circa 2004-2005. The back has been carefully cut out to allow access to the screen and clickwheel, and that's really all there is to it -- no intense mapping of buttons, hacking, or anything -- just a totally chill casemod. You cool with that? Because we are. There's a shot of the back after the break.

Though it's not altogether new for the franchise as a whole, it is still notable to know -- the next upcoming Zelda adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, will include multiplayer support for up to four players.
The Zelda series has traditionally been a single-player affair, with the lone hero Link questing across Hyrule to save the princess all by himself. But a few spin-off designs over the years have brought multiple players into the action, including The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and Phantom Hourglass, the previous release on DS.
So the fact that up to four people can play Spirit Tracks together isn't unprecedented, but may still be novel -- with the game's focus on train travel and laying down your own sets of rails, it could be pretty interesting to battle against other rival conductor trying to out-track you and blast you into oblivion with their coal-powered cannons.
The confirmation came from Shigeru Miyamoto himself, during tonight's roundtable discussion behind closed doors. No specific details of Spirit Tracks' multiplayer were announced, though, so anything written above or in the community-fueled Comments section below is pure speculation right now.
Here that, community? Get to speculating!

Mathew Horsman, lead designer on the console versions of Dirt 2 confirmed that the sequel to Colin McRae's mud-slinging rally racer is coming to the DS.
Horsman didn't have all the details, but Dirt on the DS is being developed by Firebrand Games Ltd., the team behind IGN's Best DS Racing/Driving Game of 2008, Race Driver: GRID. The game will mimic its console big brothers in most respects, using a stylus-conrtolled RV hub and world map, with "fewer than twelve" locations, and multiple tracks per location. The impressive Battersea Power Station track, based on the real London coal factory, is confirmed to be on the list. Twelve different cars will be available, with customization probably limited to cosmetic changes.
Driving controls will be strictly button and control-pad based. Horsman was not certain, but believed races would feature between 6 to 8 cars
One new feature will be the ability to create your own tracks using a top-down interface, complete with hills and trees. Players can share their user-created tracks with friends, but the number of savable or uploadable tracks is unclear.
Horsman said the Dirt 2 for the DS is aimed for this September.

News/release from WiiBrew
Yabause Wii is a Sega Saturn emulator for wii and is the first of its kind as emulating the complex processes of the Sega Saturn is much harder then it looks and now even harder to run it on the limited hardware of the wii. Yabause Wii can now run a small number of commercial games at usable speeds (5-10fps) were it is still possible to play the game.
Unofficial Modified 0.9.10:
Unofficial Yabause 0.9.10 with game selection submenu version.
How to set up
1) Copy the contens in the SD_root to your SD or SDHC card.
2) Copy game roms files (.cue with .bin or .iso) to SSROMS directory.
extra) If you like, copy the bios file of the Sega Saturn to SSROMS directory as the name "bios.bin".(But, I think the bios file is not needed to this version.) I recommend no using the bios, because I think you waste of time.
How to use
Load this emulator by a loader such as the homebrew channel.
At first, select the "Load ISO/CUE" menu.
Then, the game files in the SSROMS directory are displayed.
Second, select an game.
Then, you return to the main menu.
Finally, select the "Start emulation".
Known bugs (specifications?)
The menu items "Settings" and "About" are fake. When you return to main menu from a game emulation by pressing the home button, you cannot restart the game, and cannot start the other games. Please come back to a loader menu by selecting the menu items "Exit".
Brief Change Log
%Jun. 2, 2009 ver.
-based on the original yabause 0.9.10

Early Wednesday morning, IGN sat down with famed game director Goichi Suda (Suda 51) to chat about his newest game, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle for Wii. While much of our interview was focused on the ambitious sequel, we also asked Suda about his next major project, a top-secret EA-published effort created with Resident Evil designer Shinji Mikami. Up until today, very little has been released about the game. And, uh, that's not going to change. But we do have a few additional details.
Suda said he had hoped to show this new title at E3 2009, but that it didn't happen for one reason or another. The director said to look forward to the Tokyo Game Show for more news.
We asked for some hints about what to expect from the unnamed game and Suda was reluctant to provide genuine details, but he did say, "It's a game about light and shadows." And when we pressed him for more information, he thought long and hard and then said, "it's sparkling." Exactly how it sparkles remains to be seen.
At the conclusion of the interview, we pumped our first into the air and said, "Sparkling!" Naturally, Suda did not hesitate to do the same. Editor's note: Suda is a rockstar.

As today's Shigeru Miyamoto Roundtable Discussion came to a close, a Q&A session gave the legendary game designer a chance to explain his views on Achievements -- the staple feature included in every Xbox 360 title that tracks gamers' accomplishments as they make progress in their games.
"I'm not a big fan of using the carrots to motivate people to play. I want people to play because they enjoy playing and want to play more," Miyamoto said.
The statement came in response to a question about how Wii Sports Resort includes a "Stamp" system, which seems to function similarly to 360 Achievements. It was our own Craig Harris who asked if that feature in Resort could point to the start of full-blown achievements for all Wii titles.
"Not, maybe, in the overall sense that you're talking about," replies Miyamoto. "It just fit Wii Sports Resort. The stamps within Wii Sports Resort are more of an impetus to play in different ways and to try and do different things."

Last year, Shigeru Miyamoto let slip that Nintendo was making a new Pikmin game. Today, he told me and Brian Crecente that the project is moving ahead, but not at the pace some fans may have hoped.
"I'm sorry," Miaymoto said when we asked him why the new Pikmin wasn't at this E3. "Unfortunately we haven't been able to expand the team size very much, because we've been working on so many different games that we've shown off at the show. So the team is working very hard, but it's a bit of a small team."
I asked, laughing, if there were more than two people on the team.
"Of course," he said, chuckling. "The basic work that they've been doing quite nicely." I tried to confirm whether the team was working on a full new game. He thought for a bit and said: "Yeah, and my basic idea is that the sense of the depth of the game and the simplicity of the control will all be there."

Longtime Metroid director Yoshio Sakamoto acknowledged that the long-rumored Metroid Dread is real and may some day be released.
During a Metroid interview yesterday with series director Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja producer Yousuke Hayashi, we slipped in a question that was not about the newly announced Metroid: Other M.
Well, we thought it might be related.
For a few years, there have been rumors that Nintendo was working on a new side-scrolling Metroid game called Metroid Dread. There was even an easter egg reference to entities known as "Metroid Dreads" tucked into Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
So, we wondered, could the long-incubating Metroid: Other M, which we learned was conceived in 2006, be the Dread project?
"He's very familiar with that [game,]" Sakamoto's translator said after posing our question to him. "No, this is different."
We pressed for details on what Dread is. Sakamoto's response: "The day may come when Dread hits the stores, but this one is something that's completely different. This is other M."

Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton has told Eurogamer that the company will not cut the price of the Wii this year, and is unable to predict whether economic conditions will permit it to do so in 2010.
"No," he said simply when asked about cutting the GBP 179 price this year. Asked whether it might happen in 2010, he said: "We've no plans. Nintendo doesn't like selling products at a loss. We've been round for quite a long time and we're a very successful company. It depends on the currency exchange - we can't make any predictions there."
Referring to Nintendo's announcement in March that it was raising the Wii's UK trade price due to depreciation of the pound, a spokesperson added: "Due to problems with the exchange rate over the last year, we raised the cost price. Whether retailers choose to pass that cost on to customers is up to them. We have no control over what they charge for a Wii.
"Dell and Apple made similar moves recently so it's not unprecedented. The pound has fallen against the yen by 28 per cent in the last year, so every Japanese company is facing pressure at the moment."
At the time of writing, Nintendo Wii is available for between GBP 165 and GBP 180 from various UK online retailers, and, unlike Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo has consistently declined to comment on a specific retail price for the reasons outlined above. However, the company is well known for refusing to loss-lead on hardware - the practice of selling consoles at a price lower than their production costs in order to boost the installed base and, consequently, encourage software development and sales.
Microsoft and Sony, on the other hand, frequently make announcements on price, with Microsoft in particular happy to remind anyone who will listen that it - by which it means retailers doing as suggested - sells the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU for GBP 129.99. A PlayStation 3 with a 80GB hard disk costs GBP 279.99.

E3’09 :Creator Shigeru Miyamoto says new Wii outing shares some content with first Mario Galaxy
Speaking at an E3 Nintendo roundtable, Nintendo’s development legend Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted that the new Super Mario Galaxy title was originally designed as a remix of the first game before being expanded to a fully-fledged sequel.
VG247 reports that the game now contains 95 per cent original title, with the remainder comprised of remixed versions of levels found in the first outing.
Elsewhere, NoA boss Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN that Super Mario Galaxy 2 has very much been built with the ‘hardcore’ gamer in mind.
“What Mr. Miyamoto has shared is that if the first Galaxy was maybe more inviting in terms of all the audiences, what Galaxy 2 is going to be is maybe a little more Nintendo fan,” he stated. “It’s harder gamer focused. A little tougher.
“The use of Yoshi makes it a little more challenging. We showed some of the snippets of some of the activities — it’s a bit more challenging. It’s going to be, if you will, for more of that passionate Mario fan who grew up getting challenged with Super Mario World. It’s going to be much more in that area.”

Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed a new Legend of Zelda title is in development for the Wii.
"To be honest with you, I really wanted to announce a Zelda game for Wii at this E3. But rather than think about something to bring you to show you, we really wanted to focus on actual game development," he said, speaking during a behind-closed-doors presentation, attended by our sister site, Eurogamer.net.
"However I didn't want to come empty handed, so I did bring the next illustration for the next Zelda title," said Miyamoto, before showing an oil painting-style art image.
"This illustration does contain elements that are central to the storyline, and I hope it does prove to you we are quite far into the development of the title," Miyamoto added.
"I would like to say we hope to bring it to you next year. It may take a little longer."
Miyamoto went on to reveal the game is likely to work with Nintendo's latest Wii accessory. "We'd like to make it compatible with Wii MotionPlus," he confirmed. "It's quite possible it will be playable only with Wii MotionPlus. The potential for it becoming MotionPlus-only depends of course on how well Wii Sports Resort sells.
"Maybe you can think of Zelda while you're playing with the swordfighting and archery in Wii Sports Resort," Miyamoto added. "But some people think of Zelda as more of an RPG with simpler controls, so trying to think of a way to keep everyone happy is going to occupy me."
