Phantom Brave: We Meet Again will have a dual voice option, a feature many Siliconera readers seem excited about, but what about Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love? Nao Zook, Public Relations Manager at NIS America, says “we want to have the Japanese voices.”
The Sakura Wars series is known for including famous voice actors. Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is no exception. “We’re trying our best,” Jack Niida, Marketing Manager, says hopefully. “It’s kind of like having a Hollywood star in a video game.”
Sega tried to bring Sakura Wars to North America before, but the game was halted during the concept approval process. When NIS America was able to get a green light for Sakura Wars Sega offered NIS America the rights to publish Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love in North America.
Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is scheduled in North America on the PlayStation 2 and Wii this fall.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks introduces a steam powered train to the Zelda series. When Link sits in the engine car the DS game goes on rails. Players can control the speed of the train with a switch on the touch screen. Move the throttle all the way up to chug along at top speed. Move it all the way down to reverse.
In the E3 demo a few obstacles make Link’s path to the purple flag a challenge. Animals occasionally lounge on the train tracks. You could ram into them, but you’ll lose a heart. Pulling the string in the top right hand corner down makes the train whistle to scare critters.
The train has a cannon which you can fire by poking the screen. Cannonballs shatter rocks which lie on the train’s path. You can also shoot rocks as you roll by to get rupees and hearts. The train’s cannon is Link’s main weapon to defend himself against flying enemies.
Left and right icons pop up on the bottom of the touch screen when it’s time to turn. See the blue icons on the top screen? These represent other trains. You need to avoid these by turning to avoid a collision and, perhaps, stopping Link’s train to let other trains pass.
Once you reach the flag Link enters a dark cave and meets a boss monster. During this fight you don’t have to turn the train, the one-eyed monster is enough to worry about. You can damage the monster by shooting its eye with your cannon. Hitting the powder kegs Link’s train drives by knocked the boss back too.

As previously announced, Harmonix Music, the leading developer of music-based games, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom's MTV Networks, (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), along with distribution partner Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), will offer 12 tracks from Iron Maiden, one of the world's most successful rock bands, June 9 in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the Wii system.
The release of these downloadable tracks coincides with the U.S. release of Flight 666 on Blu-ray and DVD as well as a double-CD soundtrack album and limited edition double-vinyl picture disc. Flight 666 documents the first leg of Maiden's legendary SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR, which took them 50,000 miles around the planet, playing 23 concerts on five continents in just 45 days. One of the stars of the movie is the band's customized Boeing 757, Ed Force One, which carried the band, all their crew and 12 tons of stage equipment and was piloted by Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, a fully qualified and active Airline Captain with Astraeus Airlines.
Live recordings of "Aces High," "Hallowed Be Thy Name," "Fear of the Dark" and "Iron Maiden," featured on Flight 666, are among those available for download in the Rock Band Music Store June 9. The other eight songs were among those featured on the band's Somewhere Back in Time World Tour during the first leg of which Flight 666 was filmed. This will mark the first time master recordings from Iron Maiden have been made available on Rock Band games.
"Fans have been asking us to do something with Rock Band for some time, and this seemed to be a perfect opportunity," said Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. "Our recent Somewhere Back in Time tour was perhaps the most enjoyable one we have ever undertaken and certainly the most successful with almost 2 million people catching the shows around the world. So it just seemed a good idea to make some of the songs we played available now so fans can play along with the band on the tour. Then we shall see if they can keep up with the band!!"

GEMISIS is back with a new release of the Homebrew Super Smash Bros clone for DS, heres his release notes:
Ok, so i finally got around to starting up SSBDS again, and have decided to release this demo to help me find glitches with CHARACTERS ONLY. I am taking this step by step this time, and the first thing on my list is to get all the character animations in. I did add in multiple levels, but they all have some glitches. I recommend just booting the game, then pressing A for the first level, and staying on the top platform to test out the characters animations. I would like for any glitches with the animation part only to be reported here. There will definitely be collision problems, but i will fix those later. More info in the readme along with credits, all of which is included, and please read it.

News via gbatemp
You may have seen our previous news piece that showed a Nintendo DSi playing various video formats directly (AVI,WMV,RMVB) without the initial need to transcode to a DS friendly format like DPG, today we are proud to announce that this will indeed be possible thanks to a new slot-1 cart that is currently being created by a new team.
Many of you speculated that this cart may be running in DSi homebrew mode which unfortunately is NOT the case. In fact, the new cart has a powerful on-board CPU that makes possible media playback that wouldn't normally be achievable on a Nintendo DS. (DSi mode being a different story)
Due to fears regarding Nintendo copyright infringement the cart is not being designed with game backup playing in mind, however it will still support DLDI homebrew. The cart is first and foremost a media player, and it will also support various audio formats as well as video.
While the hardware itself is completed, the carts software is still being wrapped up and is due to be completed early next week. GBAtemp have secured the first sample and will hopefully be receiving the finished product late next week, so stay tuned for more information and a full review.

While browsing for chiptune software earlier i came across Matthew Applegate's blog, aka Pixelh8. He's a British composer best known for his custom-designed music software such as the Music Tech V2.0 for the Gameboy series of handheld systems. He recently announced that hes working on a project for Nintendo DS named The Pixelh8 Music Tech Master Stroke DS. The most recent post on his blog implies that the project is 95% done and he will release this software to the public once he finishes work on his third album.
Note: All sounds are produced via the on board sound chip and no samples or sample manipulation is used, this is a real time chip tune synth for the DS.

Metalvotze has made "Poomania" for the Game Boy Advance that he had submitted to the PDRoms Coding Competition v4.01. The goal is to repair as quickly as possible, the pipes of a toilet before an incident occurs. To do this, assemble pieces of pipe to make sure to connect the 2 tips.
Quote:
Our friendly plumber Paul is in trouble. Fritz Fatarse just ran to the outhouse, and the pipework is not done at all! Will you manage to help Paul Fritz flushes before his giant load and causes a terrible mess in the pit?
Connect the start of the pipe to the end point before the timer runs out. Once the flush sequence has been started, no more pieces of pipe can be placed. If you accidently set a wrong tile, you can remove it by pressing the B button, but this will take some time. Your progress is saved to cart automagically. If you play the game again, you can select your starting level up to the one you reached. Please do not turn off your Game Boy Advance while the floppy disk icon is visible, otherwise your progress data may be lost and you have to start over from scratch again.

Brunette_redhead has updated Bugiin to stable 1.2.
If you have ever played Mario Paint for the SNES, then you have probably played the Gnat Attack game (also known as Coffee Break). My game is a spinoff of this, created for the Wii. I took many creative liberties with it, including redoing all of the sound effects with my brother and my girlfriend, and switching up the game modes just a bit.
There are two main game modes, the "Classic" mode, which is level based much like the original. There is also a "Swarm" mode which features endless enemies.
Controls are simple: use the wiimote's IR pointer to control the swatter and then just press the A or B button to swat at the bugs. If you hit home during the game, it will take you back to the main menu, and from there you can exit the app or change game modes.
All comments and criticisms are welcome, and if you find a bug (one that isn't supposed to be there lol, I've heard plenty of jokes about this already) let me know and I'll do my best to fix it.
Other than that, enjoy the game! I hope at least a few of you enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed making it. Also, keep your eye out for updates, I have many more levels in mind, as well as a multiplayer mode and a few other features that will be added in time. Thanks for reading, and be sure to check out the first release below.
Changelog
V1.2 - 06/06/09
Fixed bug that could lead to crashes during close
Added many new graphical effects
Added high score for Classic mode
Added new skins for bugs, you can choose this at the main menu
Much much more...

Concept art for the Wii's next Zelda adventure has finally emerged, showing an adult link depicted in a style reminiscent of Twilight Princess and accompanied by a spirit who bears some familiar markings.
Shown without his Master Sword - and follwing the game's producer Shigeru Miyamoto's recent hints, it could be further proof that Link will be without his iconic weapon in the next game, at least in its traditional form - it's the first glimpse of a game that's expected to properly debut at next year's E3.
Kotaku has procured the image, which as usual raises more questions than it answers. Will Link be, as Mr. Miyamoto pointed out regarding this image, without his trusty Master Sword? Perhaps not. Eagle-eyed Zelda fans have noticed that while Link himself is not carrying a sword in his hand in the picture, the ethereal female creature joining him in the images bears a remarkable resemblance to the classic Master Sword design. Below is a close-up collage of Link from Twilight Princess and Four Swords Adventures to compare the similarities.
If the rumors are right on the connections being made, we now face even more questions than ever before: if Link has no sword and this fairy-like creature joining him us a substitute for the Master Sword, how could this possibly work in the intense battles that Link will surely face in his new quest? Is it possible that the next Zelda will not have traditional sword battles at all and instead this girl will somehow act as your offensive force? Or will she instead be a personification of the Master Sword, something that changes into a blade at will? Will she talk to Link on his journey, or are her eyes closed for a reason? And this being the first Zelda game made specifically and exclusively for the Wii, what could it be about a "living sword" that might inspire Nintendo to choose such an approach for taking full advantage of the Wii's motion controls?
With an official reveal some way off for this 2010 game release, it seems it will be some time before we know what all this means.

With all the big announcements coming out of E3, you might have thought that Nintendo was totally abandoning its home territory for the lucrative North American and European gaming markets. That's definitely not the case.
Today, the company made a flury of announcements over in Japan, giving a sneak peak at its Wii and DS lineups for the summer months.
Wii Sports Resort leads the way with a Japanese release finalized at June 25. Yes, they're getting it before us by just a bit! The game will come bundled with Wii Motion Plus, all for the standard Wii game price of 4,800 yen.
Nintendo Japan opened an attractive official site for the game today showing videos for many of the events. The site should be navigatable even without Japanese language ability, so definitely check it out.
The official site details a campaign that could induce heated jealousy in anyone not based in Japan. From June 15 through August 31, those who pick up Wii Sports Resort and register the game's serial number at Club Nintendo will be entered in a drawing for a blue Wiimote/Nunchuck set. Nintendo will be giving away just 5,000 of these, meaning you can expect to pay quite the premium on Ebay.
The Wii Motion Plus accessory is due for solo release simultaneously with Resort. It will sell for 1,500 yen.
So why release a solo Wii Motion Plus if the device is already being bundled with Resort? As with the US, Japan will be getting some third party Wii Motion Plus games as well.
Surprisingly, Electronic Arts was the first third party in Japan to share release details for a Wii Motion Plus game. That game is none-other-than EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis. The cartoony baseball game will hit Japan on July 2. A US release is planned for June 8.
Following closely behind Grand Slam Tennis will be a Japanese-born title, Batting Revolution from Alpha Unit. This "real batting game" sports a license from Nippon Professional Baseball and features 36 players from twelve pro Japanese baseball teams. Wii Motion Plus will be used for increased batting precision. Japanese players can expect Batting Revolution on July 16 at 3,990 yen.
Nintendo's summer plans extend beyond Wii Motion Plus. In fact, one of the summer's biggest Wii games won't use the device.
We previously shared details on Monster Hunter 3's Japanese release, which is set for August 1. Today, Capcom provided final pricing information for the game's online component.
As with Monster Hunter G, players will have to pay to play online here. Payment takes the form of time-limited Hunting Tickets, purchased with WiiPoints. A 30 day ticket will go for 800 WiiPoints, with 60 and 90 days costing respectively 1,500 and 2,000 WiiPoints. Capcom will also be giving players a 20 day free trial period, similar to what they did with Monster Hunter G.
Monster Hunter 3 and the Wii itself will be part of additional hardware bundles. We were so excited about these, in fact, that we reported on them earlier in the day. Be sure and check up our writeup on the black Wii and Monster Hunter hardware bundles.
On the DS front, there's only one thing that needs to be said: Dragon Quest IX. A July 11 date for the game was shared months ago (well, when the original March release date was postponed). Today, Nintendo revealed that it will be supporting the release through a new DSi color -- the red unit that we detailed earlier.
This is just a standard DSi hardware package, with the same set of included items and the same 18,900 yen price point. For the record, this will be the sixth DSi color for Japan.
The other big DS news for the day comes through somewhat of a stealth announcement from Nintendo. Remember Chibi Robo? You know, the charming house-cleaning robot who longs to make his family -- be it on GameCube, DS, or Wii through the New Play Control series -- happy? It appears that he's returning to the DS!
A new Chibi Robo game appeared out of nowhere today on Nintendo's Japanese DS release schedule. It's titled "Okaeri! Chibi Robo! Happy Richie Dai Souji," which roughly translates to "Welcome Home! Chibi Robo! Happy Richie Big Cleaning." Aside from a July 23 Japanese release date, that's all we know at the moment! But we'll be sure and fill you in once we've tracked down some details.

Team Ninja, Tecmo, and Nintendo kept Metroid: Other M well hidden from the public eye. Even Koei, which merged with Tecmo, wasn’t aware the game was in development.
While the merger was in process Tecmo was not allowed to disclose they were working on Metroid: Other M. That’s how secretive Nintendo is about their first party projects! Since Tecmo is so close to Nintendo you would think Nintendo would release Fatal Frame IV overseas, but a representative from Tecmo reiterated Fatal Frame IV will not be released in North America or Europe.
Team Ninja grew slightly too. Usually, Team Ninja consists of 80-85 people. Right now there are about 100 people in Team Ninja. Metroid: Other M is slated for release in 2010.
