If you have an interest in studying Japanese literature, then Aozora Bunko NDS could prove to be a useful application for you. The Aozora Bunko collection encompasses thousands of works of Japanese-language fiction and non-fiction. These include out-of-copyright books or works that the authors wish to make freely available. Everything is in Japanese, including the interface and menus, so this definitely wont be for everyone. More information including source code and tools can be found at MeRAMAN's website

A bunch of new Castlevania games are on the way, one of them a 3DS exclusive title called Mirror of Fate. For now, however, the details remain scarce.
Update: apparently Konami asked N1ntendo.nl to take down the article in which this information was leaked for a bit of damage control, so you can't read it there anymore. We'll keep it up over here, though.
Details
- Castlevania Lords of Shadow sequel in the works
- heading to PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, and Wii U
- Wii U/3DS Castlevania titles will interact somehow
- Mirror of Fate will feature co-op play
- Mirror of Fate will also be a 2-D sidescrolling game

Eliminator GBA
-Unofficial conversion-
Converted from Atari ST by Foxy
The conversion was first done on a PC for SDL model for mobile, our editors have not given away, I threw myself into his adaptation on the GBA.
The graphics come from the Atari version but have been completely reworked by Cyb0rg in 256 colors (graphic designer assigned to the Magic Team).
Description:
At the command of a vessel, a track strewn with obstacles and enemies of all kinds will be your mission ... survive!
It will take serious reflexes, and nerves of steel will be needed to complete the 14 levels of this game.
Full working on real hardware.

Snowman GBA
-Unofficial conversion-
Converted from Atari ST by Foxy
The demo "The Snowman" is taken from a story by Raymond Briggs published in 1978. The music is digitized on Atari by Howard Blake.
I have no information on the original coder on ST.
Description:
Just for fun and for the beauty of this demo. Absolutely useless, so obviously imperative.
I just doubled the resolution of the images to fill the screen of the GBA, the music used is the original sample.
Full working on real hardware.

jskyboo is now available a new version of its multi-utility functions (remember that variation of the old homebrew "dop-ios") dedicated to the Wii. It has functions similar to what is can be found separately in various applications (in parenthesis) and notably allows to install / uninstall / patch the IOS (dop-mii) install WAD files (wad manager), uninstall any file type of NAND (any title deleter) , change area (any area change), dump the strings as WAD (bluedump), etc.. News / Corrections - Correction of the "AutoLoadIos" - warning during the patching of IOS70 or 80 with a key Korean non-Korean on a console (error 003) - add option "DisableControllerButtonHold" which disables interaction with the menus if you maintain a button - cleaning sources managing wiimotes - fixed USB mode (always capricious, DisableSetAHBPROT = AutoLoadIOS a = 0) - 26 and compiled with devkitPPC libogc 1.8.11.1 NOTE: The fact that it is now built with the latest version of the libogc assures full compatibility with the new wiimotes (produced from approximately November 2011) . An incredible high score challenge has just been started by Benjamin Stevens, who is offering to give away the two rarest released Virtual Boy games, Virtual Bowling and SD Gundam Dimension War for free to whoever beats his high scores! That's collector's gems worth about $2,000! Here are the two options for you to win the challenge:
1. Obtain higher scores than Ben (or tie his high scores) in 30 different modes across all the officially released Virtual Boy games.
2. Obtain higher scores than Ben (or tie his high scores) in 20 different modes across the officially released Virtual Boy games, but no scores may be obtained in 3D Tetris.
All scores must be submitted to this site using the site rules; therefore, all high scores must be gotten on a real Virtual Boy without using cheats, so no scores from an emulator will be accepted. In addition, you must supply a screenshot for each high score as proof, so that you obtain gamer points on this site for each score.
The first person to meet the above criteria will be the lucky winner of both a complete copy of Virtual Bowling in very good condition (just a little rough around the edges on the box) as well as a complete copy of SD Gundam Dimension War in even better condition!
Until this challenge comes to its conclusion, Ben won't be posting any more high scores. Thus, any scores posted in a mode, for which he has no high score posted at all, automatically count towards the goal of 30 or 20. Also, those who already have higher scores than him in particular modes already have a head start towards the goal.
You can find additional information in Ben's original posting here.
Highscores can be viewed, submitted and tracked in the games section. A list of all of Ben's scores to beat can be found in his profile. In the extended part of this news, you can also find a list of all modes, for which highscores can be submitted.
Happy high score hunting!

One of the really cool things about the Nintendo Wii when it was first introduced was the ability to play GameCube games on it. This made it a no-brainer for a lot of folks to upgrade. But as the heyday of legacy systems fades into history, Nintendo decided this was no longer a selling point and stopped populating those components. The good new is, if you don’t mind a lot of PCB soldering you can add your GameCube bits to a modern Wii motherboard.
[Deadlyfoez] launched a raffle to raise enough money to buy a new version of the hardware (we guess the raffle prize is the modded console). He then proceeded to solder on four GameCube controller ports and a memory card reader. There are also a number of passive surface mount components that need to be added. But as the video after the break shows, once in place the functionality reappears on the software side.
