Another Wii U game has been confirmed ahead of the E3 2012 conference. Yes, Ben 10: Omniverse Wii U is coming to Nintendo's new console as well as Wii, DS and 3DS.
Ben 10: Omniverse for Wii U is based in the forthcoming cartoon series that will be aired on Cartoon Network. Ben has a new look for this action brawler and he's joined by a new sidekick called Rook, a skilled but inexperienced Plumber graduate who is armed with a Proto-Tool, a high-tech multifunction weapon designed to battle evil.
Just like in the cartoons, you'll be able to switch forms and battle as one of 13 playable alien heroes in a bid to defeat the evil plans of a fierce villain, intent on destroying the world. New alien forms include Bloxx and Gravattack.
You'll be able to play with a friend in two-player co-op mode on the Wii U and Wii with one player taking charge of Ben and his alien forms and the other in control of Rook. However, this co-op mode won't appear in the DS and 3DS versions of the game.

Usually when a game glitches the result is a mess of pixels or polygons. We tend to see hands going through walls, characters falling through the scenery, or weird shortcuts that the developers didn’t intend. On a very rare occasion though, the cosmos will align and the perfect storm will form – a glitch that, by complete accident, looks incredibly wrong. One such example is the Donkey Kong Country monkey-humping glitch. That’s right, you heard us.We’ve been sitting on this little gem for a while now, and now it’s time to introduce it to the masses. There is a glitch in Donkey Kong Country that makes it look like Donkey Kong is doing something very nasty to another gorilla. It should go without saying that we don’t recommend you watch our video if you’re a bit on the young side, because we don’t want angry phone calls from your parents asking why Little Jimmy is watching emotional animal erotica.First have a watch of the video, and then we’ll explain how it works:

Which would you be more likely to walk into a store and ask for? Something called "WWE 12" or something called "WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011?" THQ reports that common sense has won out, as it attributes increased sales of the new title, in part, to the new naming convention.
"The successful rebranding of this annual franchise has led to higher sell-through to date," the company notes in its latest earnings release, "which is up approximately 20 percent on like-for-like platforms in North America versus the year-ago title." THQ didn't share the sell-through number, but it did disclose that it shipped more than 2.2 million copies since November. It sounds like a much more successful rebranding than "Hollywood Hogan."

New screenshots released today introduce the new starting point in Pokemon Black Version 2 and White Version 2. Aspertia City is a location new to the series, though of course "new" is relative in the world of Pokemon. From that location, you'll begin your investigation of how the Unova setting has changed since the events of two years ago. And you'll catch lots of Pokemon and fight gym leaders and stuff.
Nintendo also sent out the new box arts, allowing you to see Black Kyurem and White Kyurem facing each other down just as they will on retail shelves. Unless they're shelved in a different order, in which case they'll be defiantly facing away from each other.

Along with a 3DS firmware update (which doesn't do anything interesting), a new patch sent to 3DSes yesterday closes up the , in Mario Kart 7. The patch is required for online play, so you will no longer see miraculous leaps forward on that particular course. The glitch still shows up intime trials.
Now you have only your own driving skill to rely on in Mario Kart. Well, that and blue shells. Actually, mostly blue shells. Now, you have only the random chance that you'll get a blue shell and not be hit by a blue shell to rely on.

We certainly didn't expect a 3DS spinoff of Lost Planet ... and we definitely didn't expect a 3DS-slash-PS3 spinoff. EX Troopers, revealed in this week's Famitsu magazine, is also unexpectedly anime styled, featuring manga panel cutscenes and a theme by Jpop star May'n.
EX Troopers takes place on EDN-3rd, in some kind of academy. Bren Turner is new in school, and seems to jump right into the Akrid fighting in what producer Shintaro Kojima describes as a beginners' action shooter.
No official images have been released yet (above is Lost Planet 3), but expect to see a lot of this, as Capcom indicated plans to use this IP outside of games, like its other "Single Content Multiple Usage" initiatives.

There's no better way to flaunt your mastery of the art of having $55 than with the Kingdom Hearts 3D "Mark of Mastery" edition. The newly announced special edition comes with a clear 3DS case and a set of art cards that look like they can be slipped into said case, and five AR cards to unlock in-game Dream Eaters. All of this comes in a big box with a magnetic clasp.
This edition shows one of the advantages of portable games: the limited edition boxes don't cost quite as much as those for console games.

Add a fourth company to the group contributing to Project X Zone – Nintendo. At least, it's a Nintendo-owned developer creating the 3DS Capcom/Namco/Sega crossover SRPG. Monolith Soft, most recently known forXenoblade Chronicles, is developing the new game, Famitsu has revealed (viaAndriasang).
It makes sense given Monolith's history – it developed Namco X Capcom, a similar crossover game for PS2. What doesn't make sense, at least at face value, is a Nintendo-owned company making a game about three other companies' characters.

Free-to-play could be the go-to business model for next generation console software on PS4, Next Xbox and Wii U.
That’s the impression given by Ubisoft in its post financials conference call.
A surprising amount of focus was put on the next-generation consoles in the presentation.
It’s interesting to think that publishers may be the ones to force platform holder’s hands this time. Traditionally publishers have been hesitant about the transition to a new wave of machines and, specifically, all the costs associated with that.
But with the console market in free-fall we’re witnessing an unprecedented turning of the tide – now publishers are the ones who want fresh hardware, and their enthusiasm might be the final push needed to finally get Sony and Microsoft to play their secretive decks.
Ubisoft management suggested that next-gen development is now well underway at the company. Indeed, seven launch tiles are planned for Wii U – and so far dev costs on each have been roughly in line with Xbox 360 and PS3 costs. That will be as big a relief as anything.
As well as noting the next-gen’s power increase, Ubisoft also revealed that the internet and connected services will be a bigger feature than ever. The company also noted that both full game digital downloads and – maybe more surprisingly – free-to-play titles will form a central focus of the generation ahead.
Traditional retail and distribution methods will not die out, however, but merely be supplemented by these new options.
“We believe that F2P versions of Wii-U titles are in UbiSoft's plans for the coming year,” Baird Equity Research’s Colin Sebastian noted. “It appears that new consoles from Microsoft and Sony will also allow more integration of item-based transactions within games, including a free-to-play option similar to the model used in social and mobile games.
“UbiSoft expects this to drive better monetization than what is commonly available in the current generation. We believe the F2P model on consoles, as part of a broad multi-platform strategy (phones, tablets, connected TVs) could drive a higher level of profitability per franchise.
“In addition, developers of Facebook and Mobile/Tablet games may discover a new platform opportunity for their titles in the next console generation.”

Some of the world’s biggest casual games are coming to 3DS and DS, courtesy of UK publisher Licensed 4U.
The company has signed a deal with Big Fish Games to publish its titles, including 13 titles for 3DS this year.
Big Fish’s most popular brands include Hidden Expedition, Mystery Case Files and Jewel Quest, which is a regular in the DS Top 10.
More than 100m Mystery Case Files titles have been downloaded globally to date. The deal starts with Hidden Expedition Titanic on June 15th on DS, with a 3DS version to follow.
“Big Fish Games has a strong track record in sales at retail both throughout Europe and the US, a strong brand awareness and a perception of quality,” said Licensed 4U MD Adam Prichard (pictured).
“We’re hoping for good sell-in figures on all titles. Casual gaming brands don’t come much bigger than Big Fish Games.”

The freshly unleashed Peter Molyneux has done what we'd all knew he'd do – stir the hornets' nest.
In an announcement that the famed developer will be offering analysis of next month's E3 on Spike TV, the Lionhead founder and former Microsoft Game Studios Europe boss described Nintendo's upcoming Wii U as “slightly lack lustre”.
Furthermore, he describes both Microsoft and Sony as “holding their breath” regarding next-gen, supporting MCV's belief that both had once planned to present new hardware at E3 only to havechanged their minds.
“Sony and Microsoft are holding their breath on next gen - interesting to see how they pad out another year. Price cuts, form factors?” he said in an email exchange published on Kotaku.
“Nintendo's slightly lack lustre Wii U is going to have to blow us away with better specs and great 1st party line up.”
And as if that weren't enough, he went on to question the very worth of E3 itself.
“Is the biggest news that E3 itself runs the risk of being outdated, or perhaps it already is?” he added. “The real challenge is how the players are going to adapt to the mounting pressure of Facebook, Apple, Social, Cloud, Multi-Gaming.”

"We look forward to launching Darksiders [2] beginning on August 14 in North America," announced THQ CEO Brian Farrell during an investor conference call today. Farrell said that the delay from the previous June date was a "demonstration of our commitment to quality" – and that, after discussions with retailers, the publisher determined that "mid-August is a more favorable release window."Pre-orders for Darksiders 2 are more than five times what they were for the first game at the equivalent point before release, Farrell noted. THQ is accompanying this release with double the marketing spend of the first game as well – it needs a hit game, and badly.http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/da...ail-august-14/

Game Gear's isometric Sonic platformer Sonic Labyrinth is headed to the 3DS eShop as a Virtual Console title in Japan.
The game is due to hit the Japanese 3DS eShop on May 16, and although there's no word on a local release those with fond memories of the game should keep their fingers crossed for a release soon.Sonic Labyrinth is an isometric puzzle platformer in which Sega says Robotnik stole Sonic's running shoes - the perfect excuse for the game's rather slow pace.

Despite never having been released for Wii in North America, the Wii's "New Play Control" version of Pikmin 2 will be released as part of the "Nintendo Selects" line June 10, alongside fellow GameCube port Mario Power Tennis. Rather than question the logistics of a budget re-release of a game that was never released in the first place, we'll celebrate the $19.99 price point under which it's coming out.
Also joining the Nintendo Selects line are two bona fide Wii games, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the excellent Donkey Kong Country Returns, at $30 each. It's about (two years past) time for Brawl to be made cheaper, though it's unusual that these two games will sell for $10 above the normal Nintendo Selects price.

The new Marvel film is taking the box office by storm, and Ubisoft is giving gamers the chance to wield their favourite heroes' superpowers.
Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth is currently in development for Wii U and Kinect and is due for release this Autumn.
However, it will not be based on the smash hit blockbuster movie. Instead, it will follow the events of the Secret Invasion storyline from the comics. Fans will battle an shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls, who have invaded Earth and disguised themselves as Marvel's most iconic heroes.
Ubisoft has promised more than 20 different characters will be featured, including Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the team behind Kinect's superpowered beat 'em up Powerup Heroes. Expect similar gameplay with more than a smattering of Hulk Smash.

[Matt Pandina] has been documenting his build of a very nice light painting bar on his G+ page. His light painting bar has 64 RGB LEDs being driven by an ATmega328P and four TLC5940 chips. He wrote his own libraries to talk to the TLC5940 as well as his own libraries to pull images off of a MicroSD card. He also wrote a cross-platform program that automatically converts a directory of pngs to something the TLC5940s expect. He says the secret to getting his24-bit color correction looking right is gamma correction. It seems that when the LEDs were run too bright, he couldn’t get the colors quite right. In case you’re curious, those images are 15 inches tall!
You can follow along through his posts as he starts with just a few LEDs and slowly updates and grows it to the impressive state it is at currently.
