Dumbstart posted this news:
Here’s my first program for the Nintendo DS, Nameless Matching Game. It’s certainly a work in progress but for now it’s simple enough for a limited release. The object of the game is to touch matching squares as quickly as possible. You race against the clock to get the highest score possible. It only has 10 (very simple) levels at this time but more are to come along with different gameplay modes so check back often.
Enjoy the game and please reserve judgement until a later date when the game has had a chance to simmer for a while. I have a few other programs that I’m working on for the DS and hope to release something a little more fully developed in the future. I do all of my DS development using PAlib using a SuperCard SD on a FlashMe‘d DS. So everything I release will be compatible with the SuperCard and once I get a new Compact Flash reader I’ll ensure it works on the GBAMP too.

Seddy recently released a rather unique game for the DS, heres what he posted:
"A few weeks ago, I started experimenting with 3d and now, here is my first 3d game!. In this game, you have to tilt the world with your Stylus, to make the marble roll from A to B. I made this way harder, because I have added some special fields:
Grey: The marble rolls slower.
Yellow: The marble bounces away.
Jump-pad: You get a little boost that makes you jump.
You have to look out, that the marble don't falls down from the world, or that your time runs out. At the moment, the game has 10 levels.

Carmex has released a new app for the DS thats a handwriting recognition program, heres the info:
<blockquote>DSmerlin is a port of the open source XMerlin handwriting recognition project. It should be fairly easy to incorporate into other homebrew projects such as notepads, calendars, IM software, etc. Anywhere data entry is needed, DSMerlin can provide an alternative to the standard on-screen keyboards. </blockquote>

Our resident coder here at DCEMU, GPF has posted some news and screenshots of his continued progress with the port of Frodo the Commodore 64 Emulator for the DS, heres the news from him:
I'v gotten .d64 support working now in the c64 emulator, so now I can use snapshots created with the pc version of Frodo, as well as load .d64 disk images.
.t64 tape support isnt currently working because I havent been able to find a portable fscanf function, and/or figure out how to convert the following code.
Still have sound to fix, and couple issues with the onscreen keyboard. Next will be to figure out a menu for selecting options and .d64 images to mount etc.

Could this be a start of an explosion of homebrew for the DS, theres Hundreds of Lua Releases for the PSP, heres what the coder waruwaru posted:
You don't know C/C++, but you want to write some programs for your DS? Well, learn Lua and write scripts to run using DSLua! Here is version 0.1 (preview build) for you to play with. Version 0.1 supports some basic text functions, and functions to read dpads/stylus input. Currently it will only work with devices support by Chishm's FAT driver (devices like GBA Movie Player and M3 CF) though. Enjoy!

Mick has posted this:
Xor is a re-make of an original game by Astral Software and Logotron. They entirely own all copyrights to the game design and mechanics. I am not trying to rip anyone off with this remake, particularly since I am distributing it via the internet for free. Other re-makes of Xor are also available so I figure that anyone involved with the original game are either unaware of the newer versions, or don't care since nobody is trying to make any money from the game.

You know the old saying about buses, well heres a mass of new Nintendo DS Commercial Releases and some killer games amongst them, all of these were posted at Success HK (one of the worlds best importers):
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings US ver.

Age of Empires: The Age of Kings boasts turn-based strategy gameplay as players move from the Dark Ages through the Middle Ages with one goal in mind: domination of the known world. Command one of five different civilizations: the Britons, Franks, Mongols, Saracens, or Japanese in this Nintendo DS game. Lead over 45 different types of units into battle -- from bowmen and monks to hand cannoneers, mercenaries and samurai, and control special 'hero' units such as Richard the Lionheart, Robin Hood, Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan, whose special 'hero' powers affect the entire battlefield. The DS version allows players to construct and upgrade buildings to help their units learn new skills and create resources for their civilizations, as well as research over 50 technologies to advance their civilization. Multi-player scenarios allow up to four players to wirelessly battle each other.
Unou no Tatsujin Soukai! Machigai Museum Jap ver.

Your goal in this puzzle game is to identify differences in images on the top and bottom screen. The game offers over 10 puzzle forms, including scrolling images, images that have to be scratched with the touch pen in order to reveal hidden areas, and even a mode where you have to blow into the microphone in order to clear falling leaves from atop an image. Based on how well you perform, the game rates your judgement, concentration and memory skills. Support for two to four players via download play is included.
Syunkan Pazzloop Jap ver.

Seiken Densetsu DS Children of Mana Jap ver.

Part of the "World of Mana" project, this game is a 2D RPG follow-up to the adored action-RPG series. Embark on a co-op multiplayer quest, teaming together to achieve actions and reach areas, by helping players up or working together, that are not available for single-player adventurers. Children of Mana features a complex weapon system where you can equip multiple weapons for range and melee attack. Also featured is character modification, where you can adjust your character's abilities on the fly by applying items.
Top Gun Jap ver.

Based on the eternal blockbuster movie, Top Gun puts the player in the cockpit of a heavily armed jetfighter plane. The game includes 10 single player missions such as high altitude dogfights, escort missions, and protecting airspace, over a variety of terrain with dramatic weather and visual effects. Top Gun also features head to head play for two, three or four players.

Bleach DS Souten ni Kakeru Unmei Jap ver.

This new installement in the Bleach anime franchise will feature 27 playables characters taken from the original anime. The gameplay consists of 2D fighting in a stage with 2 fields, with players being able to switch between the 2 fields.

Why they are coming out with the Revolution 4 or 5 months ps3 and almost a year after the 360 ? did they not think that sony and microsoft were gonna make systems? also why have they still not annouced the release of twilight Princess it is gonna be cubes biggest game and they have delayed for months already.
And revolution is gonna have problems selling. Half the Speed and Graphics of Ps3 and 360. They would go out of buiness without the controler. And it is a gamble! what are they thinking? It seems like its a good idea but if it costs more then 275 i dont think itll sell
So nintendo needs to hurry up and get these games done faster or they will lose alot of money. They need to set deadlines and meet them no rescedualing no whining get off your lazy a and get to work

Bafio has again updated his WiFi Chat proggy for the Nintendo DS.
Whats new:
Version 0.83 beta - Updated to the latest version of libfb. Better font display, some small changes here and there, code cleanups. Clock added. The server now creates a paginated archive of the messages, so I suggest to update the server too. Some other small changes I can't remember. Added a simpe ip filter to abn (temporary) abusive users. Light blinks when wifi is enabled. Also, when the screens are not lit, a sound announces new messages (if you press X on the top right corner) (this was undocumented).

Lik Sang have posted news that <a href="http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3806&lsaid=219793" target="_blank" >Only the White Nintendo DS Lite</a> will be out at the launch "Nintendo of Japan informed retailers and official distributors across the island today, that the Nintendo DS Lite Enamel Navy and Ice Blue will not make it out of the gate by March 2. Only Crystal White will be available on launch day. The two other colors are supposed to come out on March 11. I repeat for tired eyes and those who were not focused yet: no cool Ice Blue, no savvy Enamel Navy, only pure Crystal White available at Nintendo DS Lite debut."

The Simple DS series, despite being not as simple price-wise as its PS2 sister series, already has five entries out at Japanese retail, with no signs of a slowdown. The latest Famitsu is home to the announcement of two new entries.
First up is Simple DS Series Vol.7 The Illust Puzzle & Suuji Puzzle. The Japanese translates to "The Illustration Puzzle and Number Puzzle," although both of the included puzzle types actually involve numbers. The "Number Puzzle" mode seems to be a mini version of Sudoku. Digital Ware is developing this title, which is set for Japanese release in April.
Vol.5 The Trump will follow the release of Vol.7. Seventeen card games are included in this entry, which is being developed by Vanguard Works. A Japanese release is set for June.
Both games offer multiplayer play for up to four players. This includes download play, so those without the games will be able to take part in the simple fun.
Acute readers will note that there's somewhat of a conflict in the numbering for the Simple DS series titles. Vol.5 The Tennis has now been changed to Vol.XX The Tennis, with the XX to be replaced by a number at a later date.
