Sonny Jim posted this news about DS Linux:
I've just put together a test build that should be able to access both slots. It's not very elegant at the moment but it should work. It works by using the old drivers in the DSLinux kernel back when DLDI didn't exist.
Boot from Slot-1 with either a M3SD, GBAMP, Supercard SD or Max Media Drive (maybe) in Slot-2. Slot-2 will be mounted automatically on boot to /var/slot2. You may see some error messages but it should mount fine. To check, type:
Code:
mount
If it's worked, you should see both /dev/dldi and /dev/mmcblk entries.
I've only tested this with an Acekard + Supercard SD and it seems to work fine although I do lose 16MB off the SCSD RAM.
Your mileage may vary, use at your own risk and so on:

PeterM posted this on his blog:
It’s been a while since I bought a GP2X and I’ve not done much coding for it. Partly this is due to the firmware start-up time — it takes about a minute to get from the Makefile copying the ELF onto my SD card to actually running the build.
I don’t know if this is a Linux problem (not too likely) or a GP2X problem (rather more likely), but a 30 or 40 second start-up delay for a portable game playing device is completely insane. I don’t know how GPH sleep easy at night!
But anyway, for a while I’ve had a GameCube port of Quake 2 in the works. It looks like it’s going to run fast enough but as usual with Quake 2 ports, memory is a problem. I’ve stripped out some memory hogs and tried to shrink down some allocations so while I’m fairly sure Quake 2 for GameCube will happen, I can’t make any promises.
In order to make Quake and Quake 2 development easier, as well as their GameCube versions I maintain a Win32 SDL version of both games. This lets me quickly compile and test platform independent changes without messing around with SD cards or adaptors or waiting for devices to boot.
Given that the GP2X comes with SDL installed I thought I’d quickly adapt my GameCube Makefile for a GP2X version and see how well it ran.
SlowCPU is sloooowwww!
The GP2X has no FPU and Quake 2 does a fair bit of floating point maths, even in the innermost span renderer. The end result is a frame rate just over 5 frames a second (compared to the GameCube’s “easy” 50 FPS).
The Cube is so cute and cuddly, but inside its cheeky purple shell lives a beefy monster!
Anyway, I noticed a few easy performance fixes and by making some changes managed to pretty much halve the time taken to render world spans on the Win32 build. I would imagine the GP2X build won’t see nearly that improvement though as I’ve not yet done any fixed point conversion.
I’ll leave the details of the changes for another time.

News/release from Spinal:
I have been working on a small movie player based on work by Eponasoft and nicoco73. I originally intended to make Eponasofts converter a bit quicker, but ended up changing the movie format and adding a couple of extras.
Format-wise it is similar to Eponasoft's media format, using jpg images for the frames and uncompressed audio. It uses ffmpeg to convert the movies, so almost any format can be converted (I have already tested mpg, vob, flv(youtube) anbd a few others. You can skip back and forward using the << and >> buttons and you can seek by tapping the progress bar. Pleas not though, you may need to hold the stylus down for a short period, as a lot of the processing power is taken up by the decoding.
Anyway, I'm having a little trouble getting the timing right (you might hear a slight clicking in the audio), so if anyone wants to help, please do.
Here is the Movie Player with scource and converter, also an Example movie file converted from a youtube clip.

News/release from ScottMcfly:
Since this is the fourth release of this, I've decided to stop calling it "My First Homebrew", as it's actually starting to take shape now and I don't need that excuse anymore
So here's Version 0.4! Main additions in this release:
* A basic stats page has been added to help you keep track of your win/draw/loss record and how many blackjack's you've racked up. These reset when you return to the main menu.
* The background has now been extended over both screens, so the top screen is now no longer just black, which makes it look a lot better IMO.
* The buttons now fade-out when going to the next page to add a bit of polish to the game.
* If the player gets blackjack, the dealer will no longer take any cards (as there's no point!) unless they're on a 10 or an ace in which case they take one more card to check if they have blackjack too.
* General tweaks to the split card system in regards to giving you new cards and how they appear on screen.
* And finally a nice sound effect on button presses, the first piece of audio to make it into a release, hooray!
As I mentioned, there's a lot of transparency now used in the game with the buttons and the white strip behind the player and dealer scores. So make sure the emulator you're playing on supports it or it'll just look weird, but as always I recommend playing on actual hardware for the full experience.
Now, with the background now on the top screen, I had to add some white strips to make the scores visible, which isn't ideal and I don't like the way it looks quite frankly. But this is only temporary, and I have plans for the next release that will mean they won't be needed anymore.
As for that next release, I'll be expanding the stats page, hopefully improving the graphics on the top screen some more and perhaps get some instructions written up so that people unfamiliar with the game can learn to play!
Any feedback is appreciated, hope you enjoy it!

French game developer Nobilis knows what the young ladies want. They want to learn all about making them babies - the cute, collectible mini-humans you can grow inside your own body! While I've got no real information outside of the April release in Europe for their upcoming My Baby Boy and My Baby Girl games, which split babies up into two different sexes to reflect the fact that women can always choose which they prefer, the introduction to the website has to be seen to be believed. Starting off all black with a video clip of an ultrasound, I thought this might be a real, honest-to-goodness realistic look at pregnancy and childbirth. Then the above image pops up, and my hopes are dashed. What we need is a baby raising game with a distraught, bedraggled woman sitting on the floor, up to her wrists in baby poop. I suppose I can dream.

How does the new Mario Kart Wii handle? What's happened to the powersliding? What new weapons are in there? And what about those bikes? Hands-on impressions have hit the web and answered these questions!
Nintendo of America has been treating US journos to hands-on time with the game.
First up, the all-important controls. Mario Kart Wii will not only use the new steering wheel controller packed with the game - it will also allow for more tradition button controls with either the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, the Classic Controller or even a GameCube pad. Pleased, we are.
Nintendo told IGN that its testers "seem to favour the steering wheel peripheral over the other options," but we'll believe that when we try it ourselves.
IGN says the steering wheel control takes getting used to because of the difficulty in finding the dead zone - the point at which no steering is applied.
In the typical Grand Prix mode, 50CC is comprised of kart-only races, 100CC is bikes-only, and 150CC lets both lose together.
Also in IGN's report, it reveals that powersliding has also been given an overhaul. Slides are started with the B button, and instead of rapidly steering in opposite directions to build up a boost, the boost now charges over time as you perform your slide. Sounds like a n00b-friendly make-over to us, but we're okay with that.
Meanwhile, a similar report on 1Up reveals that the bikes are "more manoeuvrable" than the karts, but are more prone to being bumped around. As an extra advantage, you can shake the Remote to perform a wheelie, which awards you a small boost after a short time, but wheelies leave you vulnerable to spinning out.
1Up confirms that those stunts seen in the trailers are performed by shaking the Wii Remote - or by pressing a D-Pad button when the Remote isn't in use - at the top of a jump.
Three new items have turned up: the Mega Mushroom from New Super Mario Bros. turns karts into giants, the POW block from Mario Bros. stuns other racers with shockwaves, and a Lightening Cloud item gives you temporary super speed.
As for online play, the full 12-player races will be playable and, more excitingly, you'll be able to have up to two players per console. Split-screen online play FTW!
Exciting stuff indeed. And we've got two fresh new screens below, too - right here.

via Wiibrew
Bushing, Segher, and tmbinc of Team Twiizers released a new version of the Twilight Hack! The Twilight Hack is a modified save game for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Alpha 2 allows you to load ELF homebrew off of a Gamecube SD card adapter, such as the SD Gecko. You can't use the Wii's internal SD slot at this time, but they're probably working on it.
Installation
Extract the zip archive into any folder.
Backup your old Zelda save if you want to, by copying data.bin out of *SD Card*/private/wii/title/RZDP or *SD Card*/private/wii/title/RZDE and into another folder.
If you have a PAL Zelda game (identified by the code "RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN" around the inside on the shiny side of the disc), copy the file rzdp.bin (from the zip archive you extracted) into *SD Card*/private/wii/title/RZDP/data.bin.
If you have an NTSC later revision Zelda game (identified by the code "RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA" around the inside on the shiny side of the disc), copy the file rzde2.bin (from the zip archive you extracted) into *SD Card*/private/wii/title/RZDE/data.bin.
If you have any other NTSC revision Zelda game (usually identified by any other code involving the letters "RZDE" around the inside on the shiny side of the disc), copy the file rzde.bin (from the zip archive you extracted) into *SD Card*/private/wii/title/RZDE/data.bin.
Now, put the SD card and Zelda into your Wii and turn it on. Go into Wii Options --> Data Management --> Save Data --> Wii. Find your Zelda save, click on it, and click "Erase", and click Yes. Now, go into SD card, and select the "Twilight Hack" save (the icon says "Wiibrew Loader"). Click copy, and yes. Now, go back out of that menu and start the game. Select the first save file (called Twilight Hack), complete the brightness setting, and talk to the man in front of you. What will later be the ELF loader will load.
If you are a PAL user and are experiencing a line of text lost off the bottom, try changing your TV type under Wii options --> Wii settings --> screen to 576i (50hz). Please could PAL users add a post to the right section to say whether they had this problem or not with non-576i settings, as I would like to know if everyone has this problem or if it's just my TV.
Problems
If you have a USBGecko, try unplugging it from the Wii before running the exploit. There's a bug in the USBGecko code used in the exploit that will make the game hang if you have a USBGecko plugged in to the wii, but not connected to any program on your computer.
This exploit does not work with every version of Zelda:TP. Easy way to check your version is to compare the text string which is on the inner cycle of the data surface with the ones below.
RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN - working
Some minor problems reported e.g. Some greeny lines around the top area of the screen that appear with the penguin and if the TV type is set to 480i/p (60Hz or EDTV mode) the bottom is cut off
RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN - working
RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA - working
RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA - working
RVL-RZDJ-0A-0 JPN - not supported yet

A tech blog has today posted details of what it thinks/heard will be in the new revision of the Nintendo, The 3rd DS will be called the DS Exel and each console will have its own ID to cut down on piracy, more info below:
DS exel-Like the DS lite/light and unofficially the DS phat/fat, the exel will excel in all the things that make the DS unique. SD support (multiple formats) rather than have onboard storage for use other than firmware and firmware updates. Each system will have an ID that Nintendo will use when downloading games. The ID will also be used to cut down on piracy. Nintendo already plans to ban pirated games from wifi, at least. Extra features will be available when downloading games that carts purchased from stores will not include. This is to extend the life of the ds similar to the attempts to extend the gameboy life (gameboy pocket, then gameboy color). Use of store bought games with the Nintendo DS exel will be optional and will be placed in the same slot as the sd reader cart. There are plans to incorporate a more multimedia experience into the firmware (possibly using an iTunes store-esque service), also there are plans to use cellular internet as well as the building on the pre-existing wireless connection features (adding WAP/WAP2 support, increasing data transfer speed). A browser will be purchasable and function similar to opera for wii. It will include a slot 2 the same size as the ds lite's. It will not be released soon because of both the lite's strong sales and hardware prices, as well as expanding and familiarizing the casual market with the less advanced lite model that sets it apart from the competition (Sony's psp, also the ps3 and xbox 360) before introducing exel. Nintendo would like to price the handheld around 150 USD. There are talks about redesigning the exel for Nintendo's next generation handheld system if the DS lite's sales continue to dominate the market.
Its most probably just rumours but what would you like to see in a 3rd version of the Nintendo DS both in design and features via firmware etc ?

A modder has made a Wii Nunchuk mod. It was designed for a good friend of the modder, who's arm only extends a little below the elbow. The design for the Nunchuk is intended to be used at the elbow with the joystick resting on a knee. The two buttons from the Nunchuk were removed and placed on the side of the Wii-remote where they can be easily pressed with the middle and index fingers.
To view this mod project, click on link below and go to "Projects". On the right hand side, you'll see "Special Projects" and click on the "Wii controller" link.
