Newly released today:
The Richmond Company discovers fossils on their private island in the forest, around the volcanoes and under the sea. With special archaeological skills, you, as a fossil digger, have to retrieve these artifacts and restore them to life. By using your stylus to control the drill and cleaning tools, put the fossils back together and clean them. The better you restore them, the more battle power these dinosaurs have.
Form a team of three with your dinosaurs, and go to battle with other dinosaurs restored by other diggers. The key to your victory is firstly the quality of your restorations and secondly, your understanding of the battlefield and of the dinosaurs. Devise separate strategies for different battle fields and for different dinosaurs to ensure your victory.

Ōkami comes alive through beautiful scenic 3D levels that have the appearance and texture of paper scrolls brushed with watercolor-like calligraphy art.

Capcom's stylistic RPG Okami for Nintendo Wii™ is in stock today, shipping as NTSC U/C encoded US version for US$ 44.90 only.
Based on tests that we have performed on our European and Japanese Wii™ consoles, we found Okami working fine on a European Wii™ machine with FreeLoader (PAL Version), while the Japanese one refused to load the game. All tests were carried out using the latest firmware and several boot methods.
Considering that Mario Kart Wii refused to boot on our consoles with firmware 3.2, however there finally was a method to boot the game using the Freeloader device (check this news update for more details), we won't fully rule out that a successful method can be found, however at the moment we prefer to post this short warning message.
Together with the artistic game, Okami Wii Official Strategy Guide is also in stock and is available at US$ 16.90.

Ah, Japan -- it just gets all the dope controllers, doesn't it? Just days after hearing that a Wii-white GameCube controller was headed there soon, a lucky, lucky member of Club Nintendo has unboxed his limited edition Wii Super Famicom Classic Controller. Yep, this token of nostalgia that we heard about way back in November of last year has finally arrived in the Land of the Rising Sun. Really, we can't believe you -- being the diehard Nintendo fanatic that you shamelessly are -- haven't already made it to the read link to check out the gallery of shots, but we won't ask you to test your patience any longer. Now, get!

Okay, so maybe millions of Wii-costumed individuals running around wouldn't be ideal, but the idea at least sparks up a modicum of hilariousness, yeah? The person you see above, dear readers, is WiiMan Superhero. Fully equipped and ever-ready to address any Wii-related issues and / or injuries that you may be enduring. Best of all, this suit (a GarageGeeks project) does way more than make a boy a man -- it acts as a fully functional Wiimote, complete with built-in Bluetooth, accelerometers, and an IR cam.

Clearly not remembering that microphone-based blowing games on the DS went out the window with Feel the Magic, Red Octane has shown off new screens for Guitar Hero: On Tour, which demonstrates the blowing game mechanic.
The game looks good, except for the dodgy looking text that we imagine is only using a placeholder font or comes off better when animated.
However, we really can't imagine that the few remaining souls who would have strapped the peripheral to their DS during their daily commute are now going to bother if they have to spit all over their screen in front of their travelling peers.
There's a lot of debate in the office about where people most play their DS though (current thoughts are mainly at home), so it shouldn't affect the sales. Too much.

Majesco, obviously annoyed with being told to put away approved portable electronic devices until after take off, has announced that its next game for the Nintendo DS will put controlling air traffic in players' hands. The aptly titled Air Traffic Chaos will allow players to direct numerous aircraft takeoffs and landings as an air traffic controller. The game marks the second DS release from Japanese studio Sonic Powered, a primarily mobile phone game developer behind From the Abyss for the DS and MiniCopter for the Wii.
Details are few and far between, though Majesco notes that the game will include Rumble Pack support and describes the gameplay as "frantic" as players "safely manage takeoffs, gate assignments and landings for all incoming and outgoing airport traffic for 14 different airlines in varying weather conditions." While we're sure safety is the goal, the urge to play chicken in the not-so-friendly skies might just be too much to resist when Air Traffic Chaos takes off this summer.

Hudson certainly hasn't been shy about showing its affections for WiiWare, with the company doing all but making a mix tape for the Wii's upcoming digital download service. Now, after confirming plans to bring Tetris and Bomberman to WiiWare, Hudson has announced plans to release yet another downloadable classic property in Star Soldier R. The game, which launched in Japan alongside WiiWare in March, will be making its North American debut once the service launches later this year.
The game is the latest in Hudson's long-running Star Soldier franchise of overhead shooters that began in the mid-1980s for the NES, of which there are four titles available over the Wii's Virtual Console: Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade, Blazing Lazers and Star Soldier. Describing the game as a "tournament-style outer space shooter," Hudson notes that this latest shooter will focus on achieving high scores in a Quick Shot mode, as well as in both 2-minute and 5-minute modes, giving players "just enough time" to fight through a couple levels and wrestle with the bosses waiting patiently at the other end. Try not to disappoint.

Japanese RPG Opoona will be released in Europe on July 25, distributor KOEI has confirmed today.
Branded a 'lifestyle RPG', Opoona has been developed by ArtePiazza, the team behind four Dragon Quest titles.
Breaking with the traditional grind of Japanese RPGs, players must interact with new environments, meet new people and contribute to society through working. So some sort of cross between Final Fantasy and Harvest Moon, then.
Interestingly, the game uses the Wii Nunchuk as the sole method of input, which either means there's an incredible control scheme going on or it's incredibly simplistic. Either way, we're intrigued by the prospect.

Stock supply for Wii Fit looks unlikely to be able to meet demand if online pre-order pages are anything to go by, with five of the top UK retailers halting further orders. - According to videogaming247.com the five sites are displaying the following messages:
- Play.com: "We are currently sold out on this item. All orders will be dispatched as soon as possible.
- Amazon.co.uk: "Availability: Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available."
- Game.co.uk: "Please note: Due to massive demand we cannot take any further pre-orders on Wii Fit at the present time."
- Shopto.net: "Pre-order temporarily stopped."
- Zavvi.co.uk: "Sorry, Wii fit is temporarily out of stock, please check again soon."
This follows earlier predictions from Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter that Nintendo could prompt a new demand boom with the title in the US.
"We believe that Nintendo of America intends to support the Wii Fit launch with the biggest marketing campaign in its history, and believe that the increased buzz will drive increased demand for the already difficult to find Wii hardware."
Nintendo UK was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

At the Nintendo Media Summit, Boom Blox senior producer Amir Rahimi confirmed that the final version of the game will lack the head-tracking mode. We understand that it was always an Easter egg, requiring gamers to set up Wii Remotes as cameras, and hacking together their own IR LED glasses. But you didn't have to go to TED to see the promise, and we're disappointed to see it removed.
EA wouldn't go on-record to say exactly why the mode was cut, only just confirming it again through public-relations channels. An email statement noted, "Head-tracking was something we considered including as an Easter egg in BOOM BLOX however, we did not end up including it in the final version of the game. ..."
Perhaps EA feared that we'd hack together a candelabra helmet as an IR emitter. They should have; we totally would.

Nintendo UK has responded to concerns over the availability of Wii Fit, insisting that "many retailers are still accepting pre-orders." Following the news that several leading vendors have already stopped taking pre-orders, the firm is advising consumers to "shop around to secure their copy" of the hugely anticipated title.
In a statement released to GamesIndustry.biz, Nintendo said: "All retailers in the UK and Ireland have been aware of their Wii Fit allocations for launch since early March and as such we would see any stopping of pre-orders a sensible precaution on their part to ensure all current orders are met. Many retailers are still accepting pre-orders and we would advise people to shop around to secure their copy.
"As with all our launches, we are working very hard with all our retail partners to be as open and as transparent as possible with further deliveries, we're disappointed if even one person can't get hold of one of our products and we are doing everything we can to ensure we have as much stock as possible coming into the UK and Ireland not just at launch, but continually, to try and minimise any potential disappointment as much as possible."
The fitnessed-based title, which comes bundled with a Balance Board peripheral, has been a phenomenon in Japan, selling 1.4 million units since December. Wii Fit releases in Europe on April 25 with an RRP of GBP 69.99, with the US following on May 19, priced at USD 89.99.

A remake of the N64 title Paper Mario will soon be appearing on the Nintendo DS, if Japanese internet retailers are to be believed.
Ruliweb.com currently lists Paper Mario DS on its website, stamped with a July 2008 release.
We've tried contacting Nintendo UK for some sort of statement on whether this is true or not, but there seems to be no one around. We're imagining they've seen the buzz surrounding Wii Fit and are now swimming in a pool full of gold coins, ala Scrooge McDuck.
Incidentally, and to make that well-worn analogy new and fresh again, did you know that Forbes voted Scrooge McDuck last year's richest fictional character, with a net value of 28.8 billion?
Erm, yes. Paper Mario DS, then. A fantastic game for the N64. Might be coming to DS. No other details yet. But we're looking into it.

If you live in the UK and don't mind tossing some money away, may we suggest you toss your tender at this auction for a signed copy of Super Mario 64? We can't think of anything more fitting for your hard-earned scratch. Food? Psh, don't be a sucker and pay for food when the princess is offering to bake you a cake for free.
At the time of this post, the auction was hovering around £33.87. It ends the night of April 17th, so be sure to keep your eyes on it.

DSGIS(DS Geographical Information System) is a project making GPS function available on DS console. Now, all of the team members are making their best to accomplish most of the functions which have existed in the traditional GPS equipments.
For the moment,we entitle Ranger as the code name of the first development project.
So far, numbers of flashcards have been proven to be available when they are working together with Ranger, such as AK2(whith out FAT) EZ5 M3DSR M3SD(with out Real GPS) R4 SCDS. And, there are much more proof-tests on the way now.

Hardware sequencers were a fantastic idea: you had a box that did nothing but sequence other gear. Then along came the computer, then the idea of trying to make the computer do absolutely everything all the time, and the standalone MIDI sequencer disappeared. In a bizarre twist of fate, it’s back — on Nintendo DS.
Jed (beatsnbleeps.com) writes to let us know about his DS sequencer, DStep. It’s partly an “homage to the KP3″ from Korg, though unless your fingertip is the size of a DS stylus point, it should be a bit more accurate touch-wise. It’s a very elegant little step sequencer, shown here controlling a Nord Micro Modular. (The modular patch you see on the computer screen is the Nord editing software.) Hardware MIDI support gets hacked into the DS via Collin Meyer’s DS MIDI cable hardware/code solution.
It’s funny, because to me this brings the way you integrate a computer into a studio back full circle. It’s not that you dump the computer — on the contrary, you simply use it as a component in a set of gear.
As for mobile gadgets to work with, this also illustrates some advantages of the DS over the iPhone — well, aside from the obvious facts that it’s far cheaper, you’re not saving up battery life to make calls, and you can play Mario Kart. The old-fashioned game hardware buttons actually come in handy, and they’re ergonomically placed, you get the added precision of a stylus, and the DS hardware is more hackable. Multi-touch would be nice on those faders, though.
