I'm very proud to be able to announce the release of my very first original game for the SNES. N-Warp Daisakusen is a deathmatch minigame for eight human players. Connect two Multitaps and eight joypads to your SNES, invite some friends and compete for the first place by beating and kicking the shit out of the other players. This game is available for download completely free of charge.
My development goal for this game was to create a simplistic fighter that could be played with as many simultaneous players as possible on the SNES and be learned and mastered within seconds by everyone. The awesome music was composed by maf, who is one of my favorite chiptune musicians. I'm very thankful he allowed me to use his tunes in my game. It was developed to commemorate the N-Warp 2008 Nintendo gaming convention held in Meschede, Germany. It was meant to be some sort of surprise competition where everybody could jump right into the battle without prior experience. Development time was a little over 4 weeks. This game is based on my WIP SNES game engine and was coded from scratch in 65816 Assembler.
You can check it out here: http://gra.dforce3000.de/

Steve Corey has posted a new version of his Port of Doom for the Nintendo Wii
Heres the news :
WiiDoom 0.3 is now up for download. I've switched from boot.elf to boot.dol, so delete the elf before putting the new version on your sd card. Here's the changes in this version:
Saving/Loading works (using Nintendo-style save slots)
Messages are now correctly displayed on screen
Automap works (panning, zooming, and follow mode)
Boot.dol distributed instead of Boot.elf (much smaller file)
Preliminary PWAD support (one wad at a time)

It seems like we these "health researchers using Wii in study" stories about once a month but, anyway, Oxford University, last I heard, was a pretty good school. And they're looking at the Wii as a means to help stroke patients relearn simple tasks.
The study is a little more subtle than other research involving the Wii (training surgeons, for example) — the motion sensors might be useful for monitoring patients' progress in physiotherapy. Apparently, one of the biggest challenges patients face is constant discouragement from not being able to see, or really understand, the progress they're making. The motion sensors can also tailor exercises to a patient's range of motion.

Okachobi has ported Paradroid to the Nintendo Wii, heres the release details:
Description
A version of SDL Paradroid compiled for the Wii to fill the void in the U.S., where the virtual console lacks C64 games. This version is created from the GPL'ed source code from SDL Paradroid and uses the same data files. The source will be released in accordance with its original GPL license as soon as I get to a stable version. I had considered abandoning the project because of the virtual console version, but then realized its not available in the U.S., and noticed that there are at least 2 PC remakes of Paradroid and several for mobile platforms. So if you like Paradroid and live where it is available, support the virtual console by purchasing it. Otherwise, wait a little while and give this port a try.
This version is in no way derived from the version available on the Wii Virtual Console in Europe. All code and graphics are from the freely-available SDL Paradroid released in 2002 under the GPL license. It has simply been patched in various ways to be compatible with the Wii Homebrew SDL library.
Status (in detail)
9/20 - Packaged preview distribution - try at your own risk
Download available for testing purposes
Extract zip to your apps/ directory on sdcard for Homebrew Channel launching
beware- it logs to the SDCARD under the /apps/Paradroid/Data directory/*.log - this file can grow large in time
Still no sound - and little memory available to load sound
Modified original to support some surfaces as 8bpp to save memory
planning to use late-loading of surfaces based on need to reduce overall usage
Temporarily eliminated screen-flash during disruptor fire to save memory
Converted some graphics to 8bpp to use less surface memory
Freed splash screen after use
Re-enabled 32bpp main surfaces now that some memory is available
Top-down map view doesn't work from computer consoles due to memory constraints
Key mapping won't work - don't bother trying it- just use wii-mote turned sideways
D-PAD moves droid, 2 fires, 1 toggles console, holding 2 while moving initiates transfer mode, home button exits
Explosion graphics don't seem to be working quite right
Droids get stuck a lot (not sure if this was an issue in original SDL Paradroid)
There appear to be bugs related to the damage processing
'Dead' levels (cleared levels) don't appear to switch to the darkened tileset
May still crash due to lack of memory and possible leaks
display code needs rewritten so as not to allocate a 4 meg offscreen map...
looking for help in trimming memory usage, email me if anyone is interested in assisting
thinking about getting a USB Gecko thingy to do some real debugging.
Elevator side view fixed (byte order issue while reading data file)

Alright! Who wants to see a dude with his pants down around his ankles hula-hooping on Wii Fit?! Wow, you guys are gonna tear your rotator cuffs waving your arms like that. Here's "Gio," the tongue-wagging boyfriend who "secretly" taped Wii Fit Girl Lauren Bernat back in June, creating a YouTube (but not viral marketing, insisted Nintendo) sensation. Lauren got revenge a week ago on the Tyra Banks Show, convincing her sweetums to drop trow and rotate his ass on national syndicated TV. You go, girl.

In just a few weeks, we can almost guarantee that the wires will be filled with one story again: Wii shortages. It should come as no surprise—Nintendo has redistributed hardware/games like Wii Fit to Europe and elsewhere to avoid the weak dollar. And at the same time, the Wii is still the most sought-after console today.
Yet, in my 3 months since moving, I've unpacked every part of my home theater system except for the Wii. And I can't say I miss it. So to those of you with Wiis in the audience, I want to know...

Im sure many or all of you know by now that Waninkokos "Back Up Loader" or plainly known as the Piracy Loader was leaked and found its way to GBA Temp who then hosted the download and spread the news to every major tech and piracy site going, shortly after more shall i say hack sites wiinewz and tehskeen also posted the release (although to be fair becuase of attacks on tehskeen i never saw the download there), later in the day GBAtemp took the loader down but other questionable sites such as wiinewz still have the download up, now the funny thing is, you see comments on the very forums who now host the loader calling GBAtemp but in effect they are now as bad or worse for keeping the files on their servers.
Now some more fallout has occured it seems that tehskeen had had its site compromised many times and whilst i dislike anyone who attacks sites i can see why this may be happening, you see Brakken although i dont know him personally takes it upon himself to attack other sites with name calling and whilst i do agree on some sites eventually you will upset the wrong types ie some clever basts who can hack anything and trust me most sites are very hackable (look at how many times we have been hacked). Anyway back to the plot, i was reading on tehskeen forums before they get wiped again that there seems to be some finger pointing that Brakken himself leaked it, i doubt this very much but who did leak it ?, was the leaker in disguise and gave the carrot to gbatemp knowing they would post it. Stranger things happen in the world and remember that anyone is capable of anything.
But anyway as ive read from many disgruntled Homebrew fans across the many forums of the Wii Scene and i repeat what they say, Lets get back to real Homebrew not piracy.
Oh one final thing i was accused and named with others (to whom i dont like either) of taking down the site brakken.net, now just to make things clear, one i have a nice real life and two i dont do things like that, now unless you have proof its very stupid to make accusations and then read in a forum that people are going to hack my site, to those people make sure you know who it is before taking action oh and posting on the internet that your going to do it gives nice evidence.
ok mini rant over

News/release from jsds
http://therosaryds.googlecode.com
WHAT'S NEW: - Scripture text for the mysteries.
- New font for Scripture text.
- Formatted 'What is the Rosary' text.
- Added version number to credits.
Thanks everyone for the previous interest and feedback. This will probably be the last critical upgrade to the application, however, I will still take issue submissions on the development website.
Also, if anyone has more input or thoughts about Issue 3 ('Not working for DSTT'), I would greatly appreciate it.
http://code.google.com/p/therosaryds/issues/list
What is the Rosary?
The Rosary is made up of twenty "mysteries" (significant events or moments in the life of Jesus and Mary), which, following the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, are grouped into four series. The Rosary is made of beads which represent which prayer is to be recited. Normally, the person saying the rosary holds on to the current bead in which they are reciting.
The first of the four mysteries contains joyful mysteries (recited on Mondays and Saturdays); the second, the mysteries of light (Thursdays); the third, the sorrowful mysteries (Tuesdays and Fridays); and the fourth, the glorious mysteries (Wednesdays and Sundays).
"This indication is not intended to limit a rightful freedom in personal and community prayer, where account needs to be taken of spiritual and pastoral needs and of the occurrence of particular liturgical celebrations which might call for suitable adaptations." (Rosarium Virginis Mariae, 38).
