Sad to say another back up loader has surfaced on the Wii Scene and i reported on Nukes anger at his Gecko OS being used in it not realising it was another Back up loader, sadly the same old sites who post homebrew are posting the piracy again, what staggers me is a supposed Linux site posting it with a link and i thought linux sites were all anti piracy, nice to see that one site has took down the link and removed posts although deleting the matter in the first place would have been better.
Lets hope all the 2 bad releases and the releases that bricked peoples consoles dont put them and the awesome developers off from giving us so many toys to play with.
remember support homebrew not piracy.

News last night that Nintendo plans to release a new model of it's unbelievably popular DS wasn't that surprising. But what was surprising is that a company whose beliefs seems so firmly rooted in attracting the broader, less tech-savvy general audience would decide to add music playback and picture taking to one of its core machines.
What we still don't know is if this is a Japan-only device or one headed for world release, something I suspect we'll find out with the upcoming Nintendo press conferences. Either way it seems that Nintendo is dipping it's toe into the waters currently inhabited by the Playstation Portable and iPhone. For years Sony and Nintendo have both argued, on some level, that the PSP and DS don't really compete because the machines approach gaming in such different ways. Now it seems that if this new media DS gets off the ground, that won't be as true.

Whoa, whoa -- what's this? A fresh report from Nikkei is pretty confidently talking about a new Nintendo DS destined to hit "within the year," though we aren't claiming to be full-fledged believers just yet. To be fair, this isn't the first we've heard of such a beast, though the translated description is pretty far out there. For instance, the new model will reportedly boast a camera that will be used heavily for games and offer a stronger wireless signal. Even crazier is the bit about "competing with cellular phones" and "exceeding the frame of the game industry." The article mentions that the device will eventually ship for ¥20,000 ($189) or less, though it doesn't say what kind of sauce the author hit before writing commenced.

News from Nuke:
It has come to my attention that a coder who goes by the Nickname Wiigator has made an unofficial version of Gecko OS using some old GPL source code.
I just want to make it perfectly clear that I nothing to do with this release in any way, so please don't email me for support on this release.

New from SuccessHK
Time Hollow follows the story of Ethan Kairos and the mysterious disappearance of his entire family. As he searches for them he comes across a Hollow Pen. This uncanny object has the unique power to open portals to the past. This new ability allows Ethan to change the past in order to solve problems in the present. Through the use of this mystical pen he must follow events in the present and past to locate his missing family. This mysterious adventure takes bold new steps in the story-driven adventure genre. Incorporating the new gameplay mechanic of the Hollow Pen, controlled with the stylus, players will be able to uncover the truth and save the present by creating Holes in time to search through both the present and past. To supplement the gameplay, key scenes are presented in full animation sequences designed by AIC, the producers of the anime series Blood+ and Gun X Sword.

New release from Muzer
txt-read is a simple text reader app for the Wii. It can read any file stored in plain text format. It uses the Wii's console, and has all the features you would expect from an app nowadays (Wiimote, Front SD, and Homebrew Channel support). "Me" in this document refers to Muzer, who wrote the readme, the other devs are referred to by name.
1.1: Proper main menu, credits, fixed some bugs, added saving of certain settings, libwiiupdate, USB Keyboard Support, Wii Disc Slot Lighting, and many more.

Wii in Japan is getting a new Virtual Console in October, and it's a rare one. The NEC SuperGrafx, a beefed-up PC-Engine (TurboGrafx-16 here in the States), saw a whopping five games released for it before NEC cut its losses.
You can still get your hands on one via eBay or by scouring Tokyo's second-hand game market (we found this one, new-in-box, for about $250 at the Akihabara Super Potato). Thankfully, Wii owners won't have to embark on a treasure hunt for a SuperGrafx or its games, the first of which to appear on VC is the console's launch title, a superb port of Capcom's Daimakaimura (Ghouls n' Ghosts).
Nintendo hasn't announced when (or if) this rare treat will reach US Wiis, but, given the fact that we're already seeing NEC console imports on the Shop Channel, it should only be a matter of time.
