Leading video game developer and publisher Tecmo today announced a holiday lineup filled with a variety of games in several genres, promising hours of fun and excitement for every gamer in the family. From an update of everyone's all-time favorite football game to an adventure with a Greco-Roman gladiator, Tecmo has it all!
Tecmo's holiday lineup will include the following four titles:
ROBOCALYPSE (Nintendo DS / October 28, 2008)
Developed by Vogster Entertainment, Robocalypse is an innovative, new, real-time strategy (RTS) game for the Nintendo DS. Featuring robotic armies equipped with unique weaponry, Robocalypse offers deep strategic warfare and a twist of humor.
A technological breakthrough for the Nintendo DS, Robocalypse features over 50 A.I. driven units with advanced distributed path-finding, dynamic music and stunning 3D particle effects. Supporting these advancements is a hilarious storyline penned by Jay Lender, a writer and director for the acclaimed cartoon series SpongeBob Squarepants, and Micah Wright, known for his writing contributions across multiple mediums.
Early previews of Robocalypse have been very positive, with the title receiving the runner-up spot in July for IGN's Best of E3 2008, Best Strategy Game for Nintendo DS.
Robocalypse has been rated "E10+" by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and will carry a suggested retail price of US $29.99. For the latest information on this wacky but challenging title, please visit www.robocalypse.com.
SPRAY (Wii / October 28, 2008)
An action-platformer game packed with puzzle elements, SPRay features a unique gameplay mechanic involving the use of several liquids that are sprayed onto the game universe.
Players will play a spirited prince named Ray who must save his village from a banished evil queen who's returned to capture and enslave the villagers. After donning a magic crown which summons two liquid spraying spirits, he sets out to defeat the evil queen and her army of anti-matter soldiers. The key will be to skillfully use the "angelic" and "wicked" spirits to spray water, oil, slime and other liquids on enemies and surfaces to solve puzzles and wipe out evil. SPRay also features several amusing mini-games in multiplayer mode, where up to four players can challenge themselves in games such as "Paint It!" and "Sticky Chewing Gum."
SPRay has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). The game will carry a suggested retail price of US $39.99. Additional information will be available at www.spray2play.com.
TECMO BOWL: KICKOFF (Nintendo DS / November 2008)
Based on the most popular Tecmo Super Bowl, Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will deliver to long time fans and newcomers easy to employ controls, fun, huge plays and exciting cut-scenes. The classic, over-the-top, all-American football game enables players of all levels to engage in a fun filled, fast paced, arcade style of football.
Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff brings a host of new features that will further enhance the gameplay experience, including full customizable teams, super abilities, optional stylus control, Wi-Fi and wireless multiplayer. The title offers a good hit of nostalgia for old time arcade fans while implementing new elements to keep the Tecmo Bowl experience fresh and alive!
In July, the title earned IGN's Best of E3 2008, Best Sports Game for Nintendo DS as well as a runner-up spot for 1UP's Best of E3, Best Nintendo DS Game.
Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff has been rated "E" (Everyone) by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and will carry a suggested retail price of US $29.99. Additional information will be available at www.tecmobowlgame.com.

Got yourself a Japanese Wii? Then connect to the Everybody's Nintendo Channel and you'll find a sweet little present: a demo of Dragon Ball DS, or as its known outside of Japan, Dragon Ball: Origins.
The demo of the latest Dragon Ball game offers players a chance to get used to young Goku's controls. Fully stylus based, the control scheme lets you switch off between hand-to-hand and rod-based combat all the while jumping over chasms and pushing massive rocks and crates out of your way.
Nintendo will be removing the demo on the the 17th, after which (barring the release of a similar demo in the US), you'll have to fly to Japan and make the download at DS Station retail kiosks.

Sega has an all new Shining Force game in development for the DS. The latest issue of Famitsu has a first report on Shining Force Feather.
In Shining Force Feather, players take control of main character Jin, a treasure hunter and wanderer. The game takes place 3,000 years following the war between the Shining Force warriors and enemy forces known as the Kyomu. That war is remembered primarily as artifacts, which is where Jin comes into the picture.
On one of his treasure hunts, Jin discovers Alfeen who, while looking like a young lady, is actually a machine. A remnant from the war of 3,000 years ago, Alfeen is used to control an air ship. The only reason she survived to modern times is that she was a backup control unit and was never put to use. Believing Jin to be her master, she powers up an air ship that was used during the Shining Force times.
This is where the story begins, with Jin and Alfeen traveling the world. Joining them is Bail, a centaur and childhood friend of Jin.
Feather will feature a turn-based strategic battle system with an overhead perspective. Select an enemy for attack, and the game switches to a side perspective. Here, the battle system takes on somewhat of an action feel as you press buttons to select from various actions.
In addition to solo attacks, the battle system will allow players to team up their forces for combination attacks.
The title represents somewhat of multi-part collaborative effort for Sega. While Yoichi Shimosato is serving as producer, Sega is entrusting development to Flight Plan, a studio known for the Summon Night series. Character designs are being handled by both Pako (Shining Force EXA) and Noiji Ito (Haruhi Suzumiya series).
Shining Force Feather is currently 60% complete and will see Japanese release in Spring of 2009.

Tricforce has found another great piece of homebrew for the DS, heres what he posted:
While browsing the net in the hope i might find some new obscure homebrew games, i stumbled across a Japanese site by MeRAMAN, which has a few brews that must have gone unnoticed by most people in the scene. This one was released back in April as far as i can tell. It's just a ridiculous game where you can press the buttons to change the characters expressions, move them up and down, or throw onions.

Thanks to dsscene for finding a release ive not seen before. Heres the info:
This is another brew by MeRAMAN. A version of Tetris that seems to have an online wifi ranking built into it. (Gotta love that Gradius font). I must admit i haven't actually tried it yet but the latest version i could find on his server was from the 15th of August. On the homepage i noticed one listed as 2008/08/29 but couldn't find a download for it. The zip is 25MB so i just uploaded it to rapidshare to save a bit of bandwidth.

The application always multi-console (Xbox360, Wii and PS3) is now in version 1.0.0.5.
Reminders:
Quote:
Xavprog is a flasher via a chip Infectus nand put on your Wii. Much more powerful and stable than that proposed by the Team Infectus.
Note: To use the utility you need to install the driver created by bonx:
Quote:
The soft uses neither the driver nor the dll infectus, it uses a driver-based bookstore libusb32 It is therefore necessary to install in place of that of infectus.
Changes compared to the previous version:
-- Intelligence automatic first and last block after identification of the nand

Hi guys,
I recently completed a port a little while ago of the classic DOS game 'Sopwith' for the Gamecube.
For those of you who aren't aware, Sopwith is a little 2D freeware action game for the PC from back in the 80s that sort of received a bit of a cult following. In it, you fly a little biplane around blowing stuff up and trying not to get shot down (and also trying not to blow yourself up or crash. ).
Here's a link with the details which in turn has a link to the Google code page where you can download the source and executables if you're interested:
http://www.blarworld.net/software.html
Thanks,
Ben

You'll turn blue, pass out. Well, according to this rumor French Wii news site Wiiz is running that says the game won't be out something like Winter 2009. Ubisoft's announced the game is using the MotionPlus add-on, so maybe it'll be there when the peripheral launches — but for Ubisoft's sake, we hope that doesn't happen. The last thing we need is another rushed Red Steel game. Well that, and pictures of Ubisoft devs with the Wii-mote.

There's a slight slant to one Japanese publisher's upcoming game lineup. See if you can figure out which system Marvelous Entertainment is betting on.
The publisher offered a preliminary look yesterday at its Tokyo Game Show lineup. Here's the list of games to expect in the firm's booth next month:
Wii
Arc Rise Fantasia
Rune Factory Frontier
Harvest Moon Waku Waku Animal March
Hitman Reborn! Kindan no Yami no Delta
Oboro Muramasa Youtouden
Little King Story
DS
Avalon Code
Akagawa Jiro Mystery Tsuki no Hikari.
PSP
Ikki Tousen Eloquent Fist.
PS2
Katei Kyoshi Hitman Reborn! Kindan no Yami no Delta
Junjou Romachika Koi no Doki Doki Daisakusen
Zero no Tsukai Ma Mayogo no Period to Ikusen no Symphony
Of these, all but Little King Story will playable.
This is just an initial glimpse at the Marvelous lineup. The publisher is promising more titles, including surprises, to be revealed at the special TGS site it has set up. You can go there now for some wallpaper.
TGS will be held from October 9 to October 12. IGN will, as always, have full coverage, but those who really want to experience the event first hand should fly to Japan for October 11 and 12, the two public days.

In case you missed it, Nintendo and 54 other companies are engaged in a legal battle against the forces of evil. Evil being the R4 cart for the DS. One of those 54 other companies is Capcom, and in a conference call they explained the reason behind their participation in the suit:
There are companies that sell downloads without any license in the U.S.A., while a considerable number of pirated copies of game software are available in the Chinese market. In response to these situations, this lawsuit took the initiative for the whole industry in terms of taking countermeasures. It does not necessarily have a great effect at this stage, but we intend to send a wake-up call to such companies in the future.
That last line's interesting. Particularly if you're involved with the R4 - or other similar devices - and your boots were previously shaking. Their heart's not really in it!

Taiwan-based Eng Electronic is making a Wii clone, with NES, photo, and media playing capability. Their product is called Winner, and it comes in basketball, tennis, and boxing varieties (and baseball and bowling, and...well you can scroll. And incidentally the boxing one is called Mortal Combat), and you can see youtube videos of some of these here, here, here (says boxing, but is baseball), and here, where you can see the options with the NES and media center. The Korean site Videogamerx has news that the Winner is coming to arcades as well, as ActionFun. It's good to see the Taiwanese Nintendo pirating industry expanding beyond the NES so effectively this generation, though they're clearly bringing the NES along for the ride...
Let's end with some choice words from ENG Electronic itself: "Breakthrough Innovation, Quality Assurance, and Customer Satisfaction make ENG the preferred OEM partner of leading global distributors of Electronic Coin Acceptor, Gaming/Amusement machines and Vending Kiosks."

Warner Bros. will publish Fun Park, a theme park party game for DS later this year and here are seven new screens.
As the release explains: "Players are tasked with quests that encourage them to explore the park's universe. After creating a unique custom character, Fun Park patrons can test their skills, win prizes, and play against friends and family with 40 mini-games."
Supposedly, the game will "bring the thrills and chills of a theme park to family living rooms worldwide". Hmm...
Wii and PS2 versions are also on the way. Check out the DS screens here.

This is a clone of the original menu loader, but it has not all of it's patches, because I have no import games to test region free. (But I've included a patch to override the region setting to JP, US or EU.) I've tested it with version 3.2E Systemmenu. The patches are all discovered by me, no reversing of the original menu loader was done (only "No sound.bin" is from sadmenu ). (But I don't know if my patching methods are the best, so critique is welcome.)
Controls:
[Up/Down] to scroll the list.
[Left/Right] to change settings.
[A] to launch the menu.
[B] to exit.
