RiceVideo Git (2014/10/03) is compiled. RiceVideo is an open source video graphic plugin for N64 emulators. All windows-based emulators with plugin support (1964, Project64, Mupen64plus).
RiceVideo Git Changelog:
* [~]For now remove WIP folder checking.. Dont worry Microdev I do plan on re-implementing this at some stage
* [~] Fix up some changes with texture enhancement, should now properly load and drop textures at a whim
* [~] More config cleaning, especially cleaning of the interface, trying to make it much easier to use, rather than being spread over several different pages
* [~] More cleanups to the config system.
Begin cleaning up the actual interface a bit XD, in the middle of reworking it so its a tad ugly at the moment.
DirectX code now no longer checks for max ansio and anti alias, we shall just assume all devices are capable of 16x ansio and 8x anti aliasing
* Ok something screwed up last commit, but thats what i get for trying to do a shit ton of things straight up....
Ok for now lets just cleanup the config
* [-]Remove the use of BOOL typedef, this is for when Rice Video was relying completely on C which has no support for boolean.
[~] Begin reworking the config... this could take alot of work

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is a 8-bit demake of Mortal Kombat 3 for the Game Boy Color by PSC. MK3 has been seen for plenty platforms and systems, but never for the GBC until now! Actually until now is also not 100% correct as the game is currently still in private Beta. The project is non commercial and non profit. There is no release yet, but plenty of pictures and videos.
For those of you who are deeper into Game Boy Color:- It’s dual-compatible
– Runs around 60 fps
– Supports Super GB 2-player
– Many of the animations have the same number of frames as the Arcade version!
– Uses virtually all of the known hardware tricks: 40+ sprites, LYC parallax scrolling, animated backgrounds, flicker effects, background tiles as “sprites” (this is how Scorpion’s spear and SubZero’s ice blast don’t flicker, as well as the large blood splash), multiple OAM buffers, etc.
Thanks to PSC himself the head ups via e-mail!

Do you hate the staid, utilitarian aesthetic of the Nintendo 3DS' Home screen? Do you live in Japan? Come next month, Nintendo may have a solution for your woes.
When the handheld's next firmware update rolls out, it will include access to a selection of 50 themes designed to alter the appearance of the 3DS' Home screen. Prices on these themes range from 100 to 200 yen (roughly $0.90 to $1.80) and alongside various color-coordinated designs, the themes also feature standout Nintendo characters, such as Mario and the anthropomorphic critters ofAnimal Crossing.
It's currently unknown if Nintendo has plans to launch the themes outside of Japan, and our attempts to pry further information from the company's representatives was met with a boilerplate "no comment." However, if you can contain your jealousy, you can visit Nintendo's Japanese website to view the themes for yourself.

With the launch of the exceptionalSuper Smash Bros. for 3DS looming, some might still be miffed that the game won't support the Circle Pad Pro add-on. Though the game will make use of the new 3DS and 3DS XL's C-stick, some may want a separate controller entirely for optimized Smash Bros. usage. A new 3DS mod introduced late last week does just that, giving players the ability to play any 3DS game with a GameCube controller.
The hardware hack is courtesy of dekuNukem, the same modder that delivered an automatic shiny Pokemon finder mod last year. According to the demonstration video seen after the break, those looking to dust off their GameCube controllers for the mod will spend roughly $12 for the parts needed, which include a handful of resistors, a circuit board and an LCD screen from a Nokia phone. The screen offers a visual aid so players can change button configurations from the controller itself. DekuNukem doesn't have a full detailed list of instructions for the mod yet, which results in an empty circuit board on the bottom side of your still-functional 3DS, but they are accepting a few send-in modification requests.

It's time, once again, for Nintendo's pantheon to beat the ever-loving snot out of itself. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS headlines this week's Nintendo eShop update, arriving tomorrow with a cast of familiar favorites and eager newcomers. Smashers can currently download the game's free version 1.02 update from the Nintendo eShop in advance of tomorrow's release.
Also hitting the eShop this week is a Wii U Virtual Console port of Konami's Super NES platformer Castlevania: Dracula X. Note that this isn't the version of Dracula Xthat many hold in high regard; the SNES version is a compromised reworking of the PC Engine classic Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. Konami has more Castlevania in store for the month of October, announcing that the Game Boy Advance series entries Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonancewill hit the Wii U on October 9 and October 16, respectively.
Other games premiering this week include the anime-based 3DS fighting gameTenkai Knights: Brave Battle, edutainment release Red Riding Hood, and EnjoyUp's Wii U dodge-'em-up 99Seconds. A full list of this week's eShop releases is after the break.

Nintendo 64! Gaming machine that birthed the modern Nintendo, maker of consoles with libraries both peculiar and specific! Like the Wii U, Wii, and Gamecube that followed, the Nintendo 64 played host to a handful of revolutionary games, some real garbage, and some stuff that was frankly just bizarre.
This week, the Nintendo 64 turns 18 years old, an auspicious year. That's when people start to branch out, to experiment beyond the social mores of youth and high school. Learning new things, meeting unusual people, and creating your adult self from the ground up. You know, when you take a comp lit class, get an industrial piercing, and start wearing garish, insane clothing.
To salute the N64's passage into this period, we celebrate games that reflect that weird, weird, weird stage of life. Occasionally brilliant, sometimes embarrassing, these are 18 games for the 18-year-old N64.

Having too much software isn't a problem many Wii U owners are complaining about. Nonetheless, perhaps in anticipation of brighter days ahead, Nintendo is updating itstroubled console with an improved UI for organizing games and apps. After installing the update, a long press on any of the Wii U menu's empty squares will bring up a prompt to create and name a folder that you can fill to your heart's content. The update additionally lets you choose which games and apps appear in the console's new Quick Start Menu, and also comes with the usual bug fixes. Now, if only Nintendo would hurry up with Super Smash Bros, we might have a reason to take advantage of all these new features.

When Nintendo first revealed new versions of the 3DS and 3DS XL handhelds last month it was unclear if the device would be released globally or if it would be exclusive to Japan. Thanks to a new Nintendo Direct, we now have an answer.
Below the break you'll find what Tom Enoki, managing director of Nintendo Australia, describes as the "first Australian Nintendo Direct" video. The nearly 15-minute clip focuses on a number of upcoming 3DS games - Super Smash Bros. in particular - and also reveals word that the new model will launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 21. The 3DS will bear a price of $220AUD while the 3DS XL is priced at $250AUD.
That's great news for people living in those regions, but it also suggests that the new 3DS models may be coming to Europe and North America as well. If nothing else, those regions offer Nintendo far more potential sales than the gaming giant would see by launching exclusively in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
