News/release from Mudlord:
This release was done in response to reports made by undertaker 666 and Iconoclast relating to a bug on my part in relation to saving screenshots. Now PNG screen shots now iterate properly and increment in filename like they should.
I apologise for the inconvenience to any persons affected. Also, I have updated the documentation somewhat (if people still read it).
As a added notice, if anyone feels the need to manually extract the installer (such as for permissions issues with Vista), 7-Zip can extract NSIS installers.

Spinal Cord has released a new version of his Menu app for the DS:
OK, here it is, after a few little tweaks.
_Added_
Folder support
Smoother scrolling
GBAMP detection and loader (the dldi loader fails for some reason)
It should work on all the cards that chishm's loader works on, but for some reason it fails on gbamp (all though it used to work). If anyone knows of reasons that chishm's loader might fail (on a working card), perhaps memory issues or something?

News/release from Christ:
Hi, this is my first game for the DS!
PYIN-PYANG is a Yin-Yang Pong for the Nintendo DS. It's a two player game only (no "player-vs-computer" mode) and it does not use Wifi. The two players play on the same DS. Player one (white) use the left pad to control the racket, player two (black) use the A, B, X and Y keys.
This game may be fun when you have only one DS for two players and you want to play together. The rules are tennis table rules and are explained into the "Help" section of the homebrew.

Alex has posted a new version of his Puzzle game collection for the DS:
Finally, a version 3.0 beta 1 is out.
First, I would like to thank Tom, who was really really patient and who did an amazing work concerning mp3 streaming. He did all the implementation, and all the integration in palib, the lib I’m using to code PuzzleManiak.
Thanks a lot Tom, you’re really a nice guy, and also -for sure- a great developer.
I’m looking for a German translator (the previous one doesn’t answer anymore my emails). There is not so much thing to do, so if you’re interested, and able to do it, please contact me.
This version does include these 2 new features:
MP3 support
Players profile support
Some bugs from previous versions have been corrected, I can’t list them as I don’t remember…
The profiles are used to switch between players on the same NDS.
Each profile contains:
Your name
Your mp3 folder
Your favorite text color, that will be used in some menus
Your favorite language
Your theme
For mp3, you first have to chose the path that will be used to build your playlist.
MP3 files contained in the selected folder, and in all sub-folders will be added to the playlist.
There is only one playlist, and files are played in a queue.
There is no random mode, and no ‘repeat one’ mode.
You can’t browse the playlist textually, but when a song is played, you can go to the next one, or to the previous one.
MP3 streaming is disabled when using wifi features and when selecting profiles.
It should work everywhere else.
Warning, this version is really a beta version.
Bugs can occur everywhere, at every time.
Please give me a lot of feedbacks.
Download it at your own risks

News from the Moon Books Project:
We at The Moon Books Project are overjoyed to have exclusive distribution rights to the cult TV series The Dark Vault of Public Domain on the DS. It's a first in the homebrew community for a website to offer an entire TV series entirely for free. So be sure to head on over and check it out!
For those who are not familiar with The Dark Vault of Public Domain, I'll let their website describe it for themselves:
"THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN is a cult movie show, hosted by the ubiquitous Uncle Pete, and featuring his twisted sidekick, “El Vato.” Each week they plunder the darkest depth of cinema to uncover films that have been abandoned, ignored, discarded, thrown away, or just plumb forgotten by the general public, in whole or in part because of their status of films belonging in the public domain."
Also, to watch The Dark Vault of Public Domain online, check their website out at: http://darkvault.wordpress.com/

The Publisher of the Year 2007 - sponsored by Future, has been awarded to Nintendo, which is just preparing to blow our socks of with Super Mario Galaxy on Wii.
Nintendo's entertained us with some of the best games ever to come from a first-party and the success it's witnessed with Wii and DS in recent times has been incredible. It fought off Microsoft Game Studios, Codemasters, Ubisoft and Electronic Arts to grab the gong.

Wii owners will soon be able to buy games on the Wii Shop to send to a friend's Wii via a new gift feature, Nintendo has revealed.
The new Wii Shop feature will allow users to purchase a game (a Virtual Console game, for example) to send as a gift to another Wii owner. The recipient will then be notified of the gift and, once they accept, their Wii will automatically log into the Wii Shop to download the selected game.
Nintendo hopes this will get a larger portion of Wii owners to make use of the Wii's online capabilities. Company president, Satoru Iwata, said: "We think this will be a breakthrough in encouraging customers to spread news of fun games [other than by?] word of mouth."
"We also hope to spur more users to connect their Wiis to the Internet," he added, reports Yahoo.
A launch date for the new feature is yet to be set.

It was surely a close call, but Link's latest Hylian quest, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has piped Wii Sports to the Nintendo Game of the Year 2007 - sponsored by Official Nintendo Magazine.
The stunning adventure, which was released on both Wii and GameCube, may not have shown off the Wii Remote's capabilities as well as Wii Sports, but its huge, rich world, amazing exploration and mounds of typical Zelda charm earns it the kudos it deserves.
Link and Co. also beat Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Call of Duty 3 and Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition to the gong.

Apparently, the Big N has had just about enough of all this Vii / Wu nonsense, as it has recently announced plans to launch the real deal (that'd be the Wii) in China next year.
According to company president Satoru Iwata, Nintendo is planning to bring its hotter-than-hot console to China and South Korea in 2008, just as soon as the whole "global shortage" thing gets worked out.
Furthermore, he stated that its current priority was to "deliver as many consoles as it could to existing markets," but we're still betting that these things will be a coveted commodity this holiday season.

Nintendo's Wii Sports has been has proved rollicking fun in the sun (a bad joke that'll become relevant any second) and has scooped The Sun Family Game of the Year 2007 at this year's Golden Joysticks. Geddit? Geddit?
Wii Sports, bundled with the console at launch, introduced us to golf, boxing, baseball and tennis with a twist courtesy of the Wii Remote. It also caused a bout of cuts, bruises and black eyes thanks to Remotes flying from hands (according to comedy reports at the time).
The game beat off Guitar Hero II, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Mario Party 8 and Viva Piñata.

Ignition has announced a new DS platform game where you play as a trio of teenage zombies fighting off an invasion of weird floating alien brains.
Developed by InLight Entertainment and due out in the spring, "Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys!" is based around the idea that while the world of men has succumbed to the ray-guns and mind control of The Big Brain and his army of Brain Thingys, the titular teen zombs, who sprout from a graveyard disturbed by the invasion, are immune to his tools and rather fond of munching on his minions.
The story, said to be keen to parody the zombie genre and 50s science fiction, will play out in a comic-book style, while gameplay will take advantage of all the DS' various "thingys", with stylus mini-games, double-screen boss battles and puzzle challenges to complement the side-scrolling action at its heart.
Ignition USA's Ajay Chadha reckons the game offers "a uniquely humorous and satirical take on comics and retro sci-fi" and calls in "a solid platformer and some truly entertaining mini-games". Doesn't actually sound bad to us - what do you reckon, troops?

The latest announcement on the regularly updated Super Smash Bros. Brawl website reveals that Halo 3-style saved films are coming to the Wii brawler.
The website reports that, at the end of multiplayer matches or Target Smash mini-games, you can review your game in full. Even better, it's possible to send replays of your best games to friends via Nintendo Wi-Fi.
"It feels great to use all of your knowledge and techniques to shave off a hundredth of a second. But you don't have to do that to enjoy these features, so I hope you'll give it a try regardless," notes director Sakurai.
Saved films are easily one of the best additions to Halo 3's multiplayer mode, and we're for one happy to see other online front-runners adopting the feature. Could we have a hub website to upload them though, please Nintendo?

This week's Virtual Console update reacquaints us with a legend - or at least, the slightly ropey sequel to a legend - as Nintendo 64 curiosity Yoshi's Story headlines a trio of new games and asks for 1000 Wii points, keen to run, swim and flutter across various environments to undo Baby Bowser's evil plan for world domination.
It's joined today by another of those weirdly priced NeoGeo oddities, Magician Lord, which pre-dates Yoshi's Story by eight years for anyone who might conceivably care, and apparently involves transforming your wizard self into a dragon, samurai, Poseidon and other forms to save your homeland from the evil Gul-Agieze, who is trying to resurrect the God of Destruction using eight tomes of mystical power in a bid for world domination. 900 Wii points gets you the whole story.
Finally, there is Super Air Zonk: Rockability, which sees you transforming into a helicopter, a turtle and a sushi chef in attempts to take down King Drool's plan for, er, world domination. 800 Wii points for that one, since it's a relic from the days of TurboGrafx-16. Who says videogames are all the same? And, for a more balanced (or indeed any) assessment of each game's charms, be sure to stick around for Dan Whitehead's weekly Virtual Console Roundup, which should be up over the weekend.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has emphatically ruled out the possibility of a price cut for its flagship console, the Wii.
Currently the company is working on attempting to meet consumer demand globally, despite churning consoles out at a rate of 1.8 million per month.
"We're still focusing on how to meet booming demand," said Iwata. "We're absolutely not considering a price cut."
According to a report on CNN Money the company has unveiled its plans to launch the Wii in China next year, as well as a feature that will allow gamers to send each other games via the Internet.
Analysts and retailers have previously told GamesIndustry.biz that despite hardware shortages in most markets this Christmas, the Wii will still dominate the console race.

The Dreamcast maraca-shaking rhythm-action game is making its way to Wii and Sega wants to make absolutely sure you know about it.
So it's just made an(other) official announcement, with a press release and everything, a month after Sega US openly told the world it was coming.
As previously reported, the game will feature both new and re-used tracks, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk like maracas to shake to the beat.
Sega also hints at the game including brand new feature for Wii, but is holding back on specifics for now. Motion control, anyone?
Spring 2008 is the ETA. Have your sombrero ready.
