The K.O.R.E suit gives its wearers special abilities. "Pixie becomes a pro at climbing, Madboy gains an iron fist, and the dog Rex develops astonishing senses of hearing and smell.
"Your job is to cleverly utilize their different abilities to free the kooky inventor Dr. Samuelsen from the evil Krank Brothers who are attacking from the center of the Earth."
It'll boast six worlds, as well as three obligatory Wii mini games inevitably featuring some form of Remote-waving action.

Today, the new Wii Drive Database website was launched, http://www.wiidrives.com/. The site will hopefully make it more reliable and easier to identify the DVD drive chip (current and latest) model without having to open the console, by simply looking up the serial number.
Currently, there are only entries from PAL/European consoles in the database but I hope that as many as possible will contribute and add their details. Over time it will become more accurate and the value of the site will increase.
I know, there's already a site available by Nintendo-Scene that works like this and it does a good job. The issues I have with it though is that I think it's not up to date (D2C2/D2E is not supported) and it's not providing the details and flexibility I want out of a tracker.
Anyway, please visit the site, add your details, and let me know what you think.

Nintendo has updated the PAL Wii Shop with the first episode of the Strong Bad point-and-click adventure from Telltale Games, along with Hudson Soft's My Aquarium.
Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is an adventure inspired by the Homestar Runner web cartoons, with arcade-style mini-games sewn into the lining. The first episode, Homestar Ruiner, costs 1000 Wii Points (GBP 7.00 / EUR 10.00).
The series is also running on the PC, for which the price is much lower, and you can buy it that way on Telltale's website. There are four more episodes to come, starting with Strong Badia the Free in September.
You can also check out our Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode One - Homestar Ruiner gamepage for videos and screenshots.
The other game, My Aquarium, is a one-player virtual pet effort where you look after fish in, of all things, an aquarium. For some reason it links up with the Wii's weather channel, and mercifully it's only 500 Wii Points (GBP 3.50 / EUR 5 approx).
Look out for reviews of both titles - and a catch-up on last week's Virtual Console update - in the near future.

News via Nintendomax:
bonx, bidouilleur engineering, we propose its new application.
Xavprog is a flasher via a chip Infectus nand put on your Wii. Much more powerful and stable than that proposed by the Team Infectus.
Author's note:
Quote:
This program allows you to read and program memory nand the wii using the chip infectus.
It reaches directly to the infectus via the library libusb32, without going through the dll infectus.
Direct access to functions usb has been achieved through the work of reverse engineering of bushing.
This program has thus replacing the one provided by infectus which is totally buggued and leads to a wii out of service (inability to reprogram the nand).
It also brings some additional features such as checking the ecc, reading, erasure, comparison and writing blocks.
It will be supplemented to manage other nand memory as that of the 360 or the PS3.

And why wouldn't it be, honestly? The Wii outsold both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 combined, moving more than half a million waggle boxes out the door, bringing with it more Wii Fit boards than one is allowed to legally shake a stick at. It also shifted over 600,000 Nintendo DSs, no small feat.
According to Nintendo gloat data, the Wii was responsible for 49% of all console sales, the DS claiming 73% of all handheld sales in July.
Unfortunately, Nintendo of America EVP of Sales & Marketing Cammie Dunaway was rather low key with her quoted statement, saying “Various types of games for the Nintendo systems are represented in the top 10, demonstrating how we continue to break down the barriers between veteran and new players.” Adequate, but please punch it up for August, Cammie. Please?

Now that Nintendo's solving their Wiimote control issues, we can finally focus our intentions on superficial improvements. It's required some major soldering, but one modder has added all sorts of LED-based tweaks to his Wiimote. The first, seen here, Skittles-izes the player indicators by swapping out the now-drab blue LEDs for those of multiple colors. Our cup of tea? Not really. But the kids will love it. The second notable mod utilizes the Wiimote's rumble signal and maps an LED pulse to the shaking:

Finally, Hudson has heard our prayers and crafted a game that's not so much a game as it is work (World of Warcraft not withstanding). Hard Working People draws inspiration for its collection of mini-games not from rabbits farting or ring tosses, but from real life professions like dentist, EMT or ... haunted house crew.
That's not particularly impressive, as Japanese companies have horrible ideas for games all the time. No, what's notable is that this one is actually coming to the US. Heck, you can even vote on the name Hudson USA will give its North American counterpart. Why isn't "The Clearest Sign Yet That the Video Game Industry is Imploding" an option?

We already heard that third-party devs were nonplussed by Nintendo's surprise MotionPlus reveal at E3, but we really wanted to hear about one developer in particular: LucasArts. Game Informer follows up its earlier online posting with a writeup in this month's issue (the Arkham Asylum one) specifically referencing the Star Wars dev: "LucasArts in particular wasn't happy at being kept in the dark."
Something tells us that's an understatement. The developer's Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels game was not only built specifically for the Wii and shown off in Nintendo's E3 presentation, it was built in response to the intense clamoring from fans hungry for a 1:1 lightsaber game. With the game set to hit retailers this November, and the Wii MotionPlus arriving the following Spring, if you're holding out for 1:1 Jedi-ing, your only hope now is a sequel.

SEGA’s CEO Simon Jeffery feels your pain, Wii owners. In an interview today, Jeffery flatly stated that “there is a lot of crap coming out for the Wii in general.”
He believes that the market will correct itself with time. “If it’s not a good game, it doesn’t sell,” Jeffery said, adding that the “flood of crap will die down as publishers become more coherent.”
Unsurprisingly, Jeffery believes that Sega will lead the charge in placating the hardcore gamer–a market that has been left largely untapped.
“With “Mad World” from Platinum Games, we are trying to show that millions of Wii games want to move on to mature games. They don’t have to have an Xbox 360 to do that,” Jeffery said.

News via GXmod
Description
This program will download IOS37 from the Nintendo update servers, patch it, and install it as IOS249--making a completely functional "clone" of Waninkoko's cIOS. This process does not involve any system-critical parts of the system, and should be completely safe. Of course, however, this software comes with no warranty whatsoever.
Also, if this applications detects IOS249 installed, it will attempt uninstallation. So... You can run it once to install, run it again to uninstall. Pretty simple.
Why
Waninkoko's cIOS patches are useful, but a couple of barriers prevent many people from installing it. One, the normal installer requires someone "find," build, or dump a WAD of IOS37. Two, some people feel an aversion to Waninkoko's applications (on which I have no comment). Patchmii has been out for longer than cIOS, and it's perfect for the task. I finally found a use for cIOS and decided this might be useful in helping surmount the aforementioned barriers.
Differences
All of the patches are the same as in Waninkoko's cIOS. Although I haven't checked, I'd be willing to bet that the patched IOS modules have the same produced sha-1 hash as Waninkoko's installer generates. Except for Content 0 ;-)

While all the young'uns have probably turned their noses up at the blocky 8-bit sprites of Capcom's brave sequel, our NES-trained brains are all over it and here are 21 more brilliant shots.
Mega Man 9, which is being developed as a WiiWare download for later this year, won't only be old-school in looks but in difficulty, too.
"Mega Man 9 is very hard," says producer Hironobu Takeshita. "I've always tried to challenge players and I think there are gamers who miss being challenged by games."
Bring it on.
