Nintendo has just announced that it and 54 game software companies are filing a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court again "R4 Revolution for DS"-type devices, using the Unfair Competition Prevention Law as the legal grounding. Nintendo is asking for the cease of marketing, sales and importation of these Chinese-made devices. The R4 allows easy software piracy by fitting right into the DS's cartridge slot. Data is stored on a Micro SD and downloaded from websites via a flash drive, and the R4 has a small slot that the Micro SD card goes into. In a statement released today, Nintendo announced that these R4 devices "allow illegal uploading from the internet", adding that "it is causing severe damage to our company and software makers, and this is something that we cannot possibly overlook." In conclusion, Nintendo adds that such devices hurts the growth of the entire game industry and steps must be taken regarding the legality of R4 carts. It's important to note that this legal injunction is for Japan only.
Back in November 2007, Nintendo announced that it was "keeping a close eye on the products and studying them." Earlier this spring, Nintendo apparently pressured Akihabara retailers to stop carrying the popular R4 carts.
A list of some of the companies who along with Nintendo have filed in this suit.

News via nintendomax:
New version of Guitar Hero like this compatible with the music of "Frets on fire" for Wii developed by Hermes. My Spanish being rusty, I could not aps tell you what are the improvements.
Good
As promised, here dejo la version 2.9 for the testeeis. As you see, I have a curious policy that instead of electing a group of privileged people to give evidence, we treated everyone as privileged users
What's in the package
In the package we have version 2.9, both for Wii as a PC (Open GL & SDL) to podais try to play, not only through the Internet, if not through local network between a PC and the Wii. Or even if you have a problem with the connection, to test if it works with another version.
Will I be interested in 2.9 if I just want to play Offline? Because if, because some bugs have been corrected and have changed things that will help you to play. For example, the notes now pass over points of beating, so it is easier to detect a note are escapando and we also have slightly reduced the size of the notes, to make it easier to hit at the right time . I also lightened the load and touched other graphic details.
Preparing to play Online
-- The first thing we need is to make sure that we have no repeated songs (that matches the exact title and artist in song.ini) because it is not yet fully empowered checking files.
-- Obviously, we need the person you are going to play, have exactly the same song (and not a cloned version or anything like that)
-- The program makes default port 4298, so we need to open this port in our firewall / router or whatever. The program takes the IP from your PC or server for the Wii, asiq ue no need to enter.
-- The program made the connection as a server or as a customer. The server is always 1 and the player can choose between his song list, the level of difficulty or gameplay. The customer Meanwhile, he awaits. It is therefore obvious that querreis going to be alternating between servers or clients, so I recommend you change the port of listening to one of the servers (and therefore, it is best that abrais two ports to play: yours and the another)
-- Okay, we run the program and the first thing we do is go the way "Single Player". When you see the list of songs and start sounding a theme, observed that down, I get a yellow button with the sign "F3" and the legend "Fix Online Song" or "unfixable Online Song." Well, this is the way to make your list for when haceis Online server. It has a maximum of 16 songs and simply perched on a song and letting the sounds musisca, you can tell if this song is a list or not (If sample "Fix" is not this). F3 is the third button on the configuration of command that esteis using, which may be the (+) if using these Nunchuck. Remember this.
-- Well, now we leave there and go into the option "Online from the main menu. We can now see a short menu with options "Create Server" and "Connect to Server"
Mode Server
-- If you fijais, appears below amarillo/F3 button with the legend "Edit server," if we are positioned at the option of "Create Server." If we press on, we can edit the name of our server and the number of port (F1 uses to edit and then move to the next letter or F2 to leave. Use Up / Down to decrease / increase a letter or number)
- If we enter into an option Create Server, the program it waits to connect a customer. When you go online,
pasareis to see the list of songs for the game online. If you are not allowed to choose a song to play, it may be because that person does not have this song, or there is any type of error in communication.
-- After choosing the song, difficulty, etc., will be the burden of song and quedareis while waiting in a final display of synchronization, before leaving the game.
Mode Client
-- If you go into the "Connect to Server", entrareis on a screen that displays 8 editable accounts, with F3 where we can go to rename the account, or ip port connection. It works like editing the server, only that we can change the destination IP.
-- Pressing F1 on account target, looks forward to connect to the server when it observareis the rotulito "Online" and the name of the server with which you connected.
-- When the server selects a song, is shown on screen, like when it decides how to play. Finally, when the server has already chosen all the conditions of the game shows a screen with the song, gameplay and level of difficulty, for a few seconds.
-- Why is the burden of a screen composition and synchronization to the server and client, run simultaneously.
Details
-- When you appear in the game, below shows the type of peripheral that you are using each.
-- In the online mode, there is no death: rockometro never descends, so that we can test even being a single player.
-- If one player break the game, that player can only resume (always have the option to leave the game)
-- If at some point the game is aborted, is that the other party has decided to do so. If at some point, you are waiting for the server and salis at home, is that the server has canceled the game or has been a problem in trying to select a song.
-- Remember that F1 is pressing the A and B F2 is the button on the command menus and F3 may be the (+) or 1 in any configuration. If you apparently can not press F3, change the configuration of command.
Known Issue
In Wii if you open a connection and some time without being connected, the connection is lost and it is not possible to recover (in the channel will also Homebrew, sometimes it goes the clip). So try that both the client and server, are communicating, on an ongoing basis, even when you're out of the game.

Here's your chance to own a piece of internet "celebrity"! eBay seller ii22ac is auctioning off a Wii Fit signed by The Wii Fit Girl. You remember her? That marketing lady who did Wii Fit in her underoos for her marketing guy boyfriend, but then claimed it wasn't a viral ad for Nintendo — the company has denied any connection at all. The eBay seller writes:
Here is a rare, limited, unopened Nintendo Wii Fit signed by the viral video celebrity 'Wii Fit Girl'.At a recent visit to EB Games here in Miami, I unexpectedly recognized and approached her and asked if she would kindly sign my Wii Fit. She was extremely friendly and had no problem signing it.
Wow. That's great. This online retailer just happened to recognize The Wii Fit Girl who just happened to be a his local Miami EB Games. That's amazing, because we're pretty sure the last thing The Wii Fit Girl is recognized for is her pearly smile.

Back in 2006, Ubisoft was one of the first companies to release a Wii-mote title with Red Steel. Now the company is saying that it will take advantage of the upcoming Wii Motion Plus. Explains Ubisoft's Alain Corre:
Red Steel 2 has been in development for many months now, and this new device will help us be even more precise in what we do with the product. The Red Steel brand is strong — I think we released it on year one, and that people understood that it was a first try on new technology, technology that wasn't completely finished.
And our game tried to grab the best out of it, and was a bit rushed to be sure to offer something in year one to Wii consumers. But Red Steel is still selling well — at a lower price of course, but still it's in the top 30 or 40 in every country on Wii.
So Red Steel is a brand, and as with every brand we have, we now have to reach the top quality possible. What was missing was the preciseness of the sabre — and with this new device I think it will change the experience.
By "change the experience", Corre must mean "make Red Steel not sucky."

OK, it's a bit dramatic for us to say "coming never," but we shouldn't expect Wiis in multiple snazzy colors (you know, the ones promised by Nintendo when the Wii was announced) or a redesigned DS (it could be RAZR-thin!) anytime soon. Instead, it sounds like Nintendo is more focused on getting each device "into the hands of more people." In layman's terms, that means "making more money selling the crap that you already won't stop buying anyway."

Not that the Big N hasn't snubbed the vast majority of the world before with these channel releases, but folks holed up everywhere save for Japan have yet another one they can only look longingly at from afar. Thanks to a new partnership between Nintendo and Fujifilm, the Wii Digicam Print Channel is immediately available for Japanese Wii consoles to access, which essentially gives owners the ability to upload images from SD cards and receive customized prints, photo books, business cards, etc. in the mail. We're not totally at all sure why someone would choose to handle this on a gaming console rather than, say, an actual computer, but hey -- who are we to judge? Oh, and for you folks in North America, Europe and beyond, expect the service to roll your way sometime in the future.

We've seen our fair share of subscription-dependent giveaways in the past in the form of Eee PC's and even the rare PS3 offer -- but handing out a Wii with cable service strikes us as somewhat notable. According to an offer from Comcast, newcomers to the company's "Triple Play" of digital cable, VOIP service, and high-speed internet will also be able to bag an honest-to-goodness Nintendo Wii on their way out the door. Sure, you've got to sign a two-year contract (* la mobile telco policy), but you'll also walk away with a console that still can't be found on a lot of store shelves. Does this signal the ultimate dilution of the Wii into a ubiquitous and truly casual mainstay, or does it simply suggest Comcast and the big N had a sweet -- and likely limited -- deal? Only the suits know for sure.
