Two 4x Wiimote charging stations in a week? Um, okay. If, for whatever reason, the Nintendo-licensed charger we saw just days ago wasn't right for you (read: too expensive to import), we've got yet another option for you to consider. Penguin United -- which gets brownie points on name alone -- has just unveiled the Quad Charge Station for Wii, which utilizes Li-ion batteries that promise 13 full hours of playtime from each Wiimote. Additionally, it can juice up your controllers in just 4 hours, and there's even LEDs to inform you of how close to full each one is. The real kicker? The colored Wiimote straps that PU tosses in -- huzzah! Include one in your next party for $44.99.

Rockstar has created a placeholder site for the semi-recently announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars which may be giving away a little more than it had planned. Along with the usual DS logo branding and ERSB "RP" badge is ... the official Nintendo W-Fii Connection emblem. It certainly looks like it's intended to be there, but we won't know for certain whether the first GTA on Ninty's dual-screen handheld will have proper online play until Rockstar says something – and that could be a while. In the meantime, we can only wait and dream of setting Liberty City ablaze with other DS users over the internet.

The successor to the Nintendo Wii is already in development and being prepared, president Satoru Iwata has revealed.
"We are always preparing for the next hardware," Iwata told Forbes. "We are under development. ... But the hardware is a kind of box that consumers reluctantly buy in order to play our games."
Not at all surprising news, but what will be interesting is how Nintendo addresses the massive expectation now left by its radical transition from controller to Wii Remote. What will it do next?
"Every hardware needs some revolutionary features," says Iwata. "This time around, it happened to be we had a revolutionary user interface. Will it be the same for the next generation? I really can't tell.
"It's natural for the current customer to expect Nintendo is going to once again do something different," he continues. "If the people are expecting so many different things from Nintendo, it's going to be difficult for us to go beyond that expectation again."
By the look of its current bank balance, don't expect the Wii 2 answers any time soon.

Electronic Arts has revealed it's currently developing 40 titles for the Wii and DS.
Sounds like the publisher is firmly committed to supporting Nintendo's consoles, then. This might be something to do with the success of Wii title Boom Blox - according to EA, 450,000 copies were sold during the most recent financial quarter.
The game "continues to sell well", said silver-haired bossman John Riccitiello. We're certainly big fans; read our review to find out why.
EA's latest financial report reveals the company made a USD 95 million loss during the first quarter of FY09. However, sales during the period doubled to reach USD 804 million.

Electronic Arts has revealed that it has 40 titles in development for Nintendo's Wii and DS hardware.
The company also said that the Steven Spielberg collaboration, Boom Blox, has sold over 450,000 units in EA's first fiscal quarter.
"Boom Blox from EA Casual continues to sell well," said CEO John Riccitiello in the company's conference call following it's quarterly financial results.
The company reported a loss of USD 95 million for the first quarter of the 2009 fiscal year, but sales for the period almost doubled year-on-year to USD 804 million.

Nintendo has told GamesIndustry.biz that it has so far this year seized almost 30,000 piracy devices which infringe company copyright.
The numbers come following Nintendo Japan's lawsuit, which with the help of 54 other publishers, aims to tackle the growing threat of DS piracy devices such as the R4 cartridge.
"Nintendo takes a global approach to piracy and has pursued the illegal game copying devices in 11 countries this past year," said the company in a statement.
"Nintendo has worked with enforcement officials in Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Spain, UK, and the US, seizing close to 30,000 infringing game copying products, as well as taking actions against those distributors and manufacturers."
The notorious R4 chip is available to buy over the internet, and allows hacked code to be transferred easily onto the Nintendo DS and played via a cartridge and memory card.
"Nintendo and software manufacturers are suffering tremendous loss caused by the import and distribution of such devices," said the firm.
"Nintendo and software manufacturers have determined that the spread of such devices in the market would hinder sound growth and development of the entire computer game industry and will therefore continue to take strict legal measures against any game copying devices that operate like the R4."

The Game Boy Advance and GameCube. Relics of Nintendo's early 21st century efforts. Purple, plastic-looking consoles that, for all their strengths, were the company's flagship devices during the "dark days". With the Wii and DS on the scene nowadays, and printing all kinds of cash money, they're dead machines, yes? Gone, no further need for them, thanks for the memories, right? WRONG. They LIVE.
Nintendo's quarterly earnings show that, while they're hardly raking in the big bucks, both consoles are still selling units and still making money well into 2008. While nobody in Japan, Europe, Asia or Australia bought a new GameCube between April and June, somewhere, somehow, 40,000 Americans did. As for the GBA, well, none were sold in the US, but globally, 180,000 of them found new homes. 180,000! If you ever wonder why Nintendo have never publicly proclaimed the death of the little handheld, that's probably why.

Reggie wants it. You (maybe) want it. Take-Two shareholders most certainly want it. So Grand Theft Auto on the Wii's a no-brainer, right? Sure looks that way to us, but we're not Take-Two. Our names aren't anything cool like Strauss. Take-Two themselves are being awful suggestive on the subject, with Ben Feder responding to the "GTA on Wii?" question with:
I can't comment on it, but obviously we have one of the best selling third –party games on the Wii in Carnival Games from 2K Play, so we know the Wii pretty well. We're building up assets to develop for the Wii and we're excited about its growth. I can't comment on GTA specifically on the Wii...
Read into that what you will, but we read a man saying those words with a smirk on his face and his right hand patting his wallet ever so softly.

Rockstar today launched the official site for upcoming DS-exclusive GTA China Town Wars. The site is little more than a placeholder for the game but we were able to squeeze one bit of potential news out of all of that empty space.
Down at the bottom of the page there's the universal symbol for the Nintendo WiFi Connection. It's not too far a leap to think that means that the upcoming touch-action game will have some sort of WiFi support. Of course we haven't a clue if that means a free downloadable demo to share with friends or full-on multiplayer support. Here's hoping it's the latter.

We know Electronic Arts has been kicking itself for underestimating the Wii since the console first came out in November of '06. When John Riccitiello rejoined EA the following February, that decision was already made and he's been turning the boat around ever since, telling the Mercury News, "We typically figured out who the market leader was going to be before the start of the cycle and bet with our development resources on that platform. We made the wrong call there (by betting on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), which made this transition harder than it would otherwise be." In development for Wii: EA Sports All Play lineup; SimAnimals; MySims Kingdom; Boogie Superstar; Hasbro Family Game Night; Skate It; and more. Let's hope they fare better than the underappreciated Boom Blox.
Of course, increased focus on the Wii doesn't mean that EA is ignoring the 360, PS3, or PC markets. In fact, the company just had what could arguably be called its best E3 showing ever – Spore, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Dragon Age: Origins, Left 4 Dead, Rock Band 2 – comprised entirely of games for those platforms. Riccitiello addresses the continued focus on "next-gen" development saying that what's "unusual in this cycle is there's a second and third place that is meaningful, against which we can build a profitable business."
We're sure EA will do fine with Wii and DS, but we've got our eyes squarely on those second and third place consoles. We don't know what it costs to run a big, fancy gaming company but if it helps in your quarterly budgeting, EA, we're planning to buy at least ... twelve of each of those titles.

We already know that Nintendo DS is taking up residence in Liberty City thanks to GTA: Chinatown Wars, but what about GTA on Wii? Reggie wants it, gamers want it, but will Take-Two ever deliver? Speaking to GameDaily about any such plans, Take-Two CEO Ben Feder had this to say: "We know the Wii pretty well. We're building up assets to develop for the Wii and we're excited about its growth," but added, "I can't comment on GTA specifically on the Wii."
Something about another of Feder's comments seemed vaguely familiar when compared to those of Nintendo's Fils-Amie, who's said he'd welcome a GTA game on Wii as long as it's developed specifically for the platform. "Our goal is to be the most creative and innovative company in the industry," Feder said, further explaining, "You don't get there by just porting and dumping games on the shelves. You get there by looking at the platform and creating games specifically for that platform." Sure sounds like what Reggie's asking for to us.

"Touching is good," but hacking? Not so much. Nintendo has gone on the war path against five Japanese companies that make their living helping users rip off DS games. Of course, a primary use for such hardware -- such as the R4 Revolution, pictured -- is homebrew and emulation, but good luck convincing Nintendo (or any large console manufacturer) of that. Details of the actual lawsuit are slim, but Nintendo has brought along with it 54 Japanese software makers to lend a bit of gravitas to the suit. If you haven't managed to hack your DS yet, now might be a good time to score the requisite hardware -- we might be facing a scarcity before too long.

While it's not quite the feat that an actual Wiimote-paddled canoe would be (or nearly as silly), this nunchuck-steered contraption is still pretty impressive in its own right, and quite the change in pace from the usual Wiimote-controlled robots. At the heart of the rig is the always-useful Arduino platform, which employs some custom software to control the two electric motors powered by a pair of golf cart batteries, along with some robot servos and a battle bot motor driver. That apparently all adds up to about 6 to 8 hours of cruising time and a leisurely top speed of four miles per hour, not to mention some apparently spot on controls, which you can see in action for yourself in the video after the break.

If you want to compiler yourself, you have to put the su stuff named as su_certs.bin, su_ticket.bin and su_tmd.bin into the data folder.
Press A to enter a folder, B to go back to the parent folder, up and down to navigate and 1 to dump a file to the root of the sd card.
It's quite buggy so feel free to tell me the bugs you found if I'm online at #wiidev.
