A port of casual PC title Home Sweet Home (succumb to your IKEA nesting instinct) and The Incredible Maze (succumb to possibly the worst game on WiiWare) would struggle to get noticed in most weeks, but on the day Tetris Party finally lands in Europe and Australia? Tiny Cartridge pointed out an interview (in Japanese) with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata that I missed. In a discussion with the DSi staff he mentions some ideas he has for DSiWare applications like a Zelda Calculator, an Animal Crossing Clock, and street maps for large cities. Iwata’s idea is to sell these DSiWare toys for a low price possibly around the 200 Nintendo Point mark, the lowest DSiWare price we heard of. The only game discussed with his team is a simple version of Tetris and the DS already has an awesome version of Tetris, it’s called Tetris DS.
Of course, none of these items are confirmed to be in development or will ever come out since the conversation is casual talk. However, it doesn’t sound like DSiWare is going to be a major platform for games yet. Nintendo of Japan hasn’t announced any games specifically for DSiWare and the handheld launches next week. The lack of solid software could be the part of the reason Nintendo is holding back the DSi launch in North America, they don’t want to launch a new handheld with nothing in the store.

When the DSi launches on November 1st, it will cost Japanese consumers ¥18,900, or the equivalent of $200 at current exchange rates. Alas, import stores apparently didn't get that memo. Earlier this week, YesAsia was one of the first major importers to open its DSi preorder scheme, demanding an eye-watering price of $299.99 for Nintendo's upgraded handheld. That's a 50% rise on what you'd pay on a Japanese high street.
Since then, others have followed suit, with Play-Asia opening its preorders yesterday at the same price. A quick scan of Google's Shopping channel turned up the following offers (bear in mind the top three will also add shipping costs):

Play-Asia.com: $299.99
Model-Gadget.com: $272.29
Gadget-Asia.com: $318.30 (free shipping)
Egads! It appears importers, rather than Nintendo, are dictating prices here, and even though the likes of Renchi have yet to start offering preorders, we can assume they will also be pricing the systems at roughly $300. Anybody still tempted?

ErrorA has updated his Dart scoring app for the DS:
Changes:
* In menu:
- In first menu the question "Play darts on DS?" and answers
are replaced with "What to do?", "Play game" or "Keep score"
- Dartgame mode is now default selected
- 1 player mode is now default selected
* At statistics:
- Button removed at the gameover screen (to ugly), now you
just have to tab the background to continue
Additions:
* Help button added to scorekeeper and game mode
* Button mapping: A = action (buttons with yellow text)
B = back
Fixed bugs:
* You can't throw out with the double-bull
* Wrong shadow and opaque rendering when in lefthanded-modes
* When switching hand during instructions there is no way back
* When switching hand with select key the menu doesn't update
* After closing instructions, the thrown darts are gone
* After throwing the first dart you can throw de 2nd and 3rd
the same way by directly clicking the OK button

Scotty Mcfly has released a new version of his card game for the DS:
Blackjack DS v0.7 is out now! Here's what's new:
* New, clearer card graphics with suits
* Sound effects for card dealing and shuffling
* In-game help pages on how to play blackjack
* New options to tweak:
o Can change number of decks between 4, 6, and 8
o Can alter splitting rules
* More stats including breakdown of initial player/dealer cards
The new card graphics were created by myself and replace the old, square, numbered boxes I've been using since v0.3. The additional options allow the use of either 4, 6 or 8 decks in the shoe (1 and 2 deck options will be in the next release). Splitting can now be switched between being available on any pairs of equal value cards or not on 4's, 5's or 10's, which is an old UK casino rule that some casinos still use. For the next release I'm looking to improve the text-based screens, dynamically alter the player's current chip score (to make it clear their current bet is technically no longer in their pot) and to include additional stats and sounds.

Gemesis has released a new version of his DS Version of the game Super Smash Bros, heres whats new:
V0.2(current)
New Features:
-Start with 3 levels
-Start with 3 Characters
-11 Unlockable levels
-7 unlockable characters
-A variety of characters
-A variety of levels
-Auto save feature
-4 New characters
-3 Returning Characters
-All Brand new stages (except for maybe 2)
-High score table (still working on fixing, but will definitely be in 3rd demo, if not this one)
-Main Menu Music
-1 Fight able Enemy (depends on which character, but might be fixed in time for demo)
Known Glitches:
-64X64 sprites heads do not touch the things above properly (working on it still)
-may not be compatible with all flashcarts
-Will not save on Emulator
-certain levels glitch up with certain characters
-certain things with character images
-Time limit glitch
-Certain characters on Angel Island glitch up
-Probably other ones as well

Pong2 is an open-source game based on the original game of Pong. Pong2 has improved features over the original. The paddle can be moved horizontally and vertically. 10 tracks of background music are available during game play. The first player to score 10 points in each level is the winner.
Special thanks to my family for there support during the development of this game.

The BBC has launched a version of iPlayer that is fully optimised for TV display via the Nintendo Wii.
A version of the iPlayer service delivering video in a format compatible with the Wii's Flash 7 software was made available on back in April; however, users had to use the standard iPlayer interface optimised for computers to navigate to the content.
Anthony Rose, head of the BBC's online media group, said today on the BBC's internet blog that a new "big screen" version of the iPlayer interface designed to be more usable at the Wii's screen resolution has launched.
"The new Wii version has a simplified user interface that presents just a few options on screen at a time and nice big chunky controls - easy to aim at with a Wiimote," explained Rose.
All programmes now play back in full screen mode by default; however, because the no advancements have been made to the video codecs supported on the Wii since April, video quality remains the same.
Rose added that the "big screen" version of iPlayer may be adapted in the future to serve other games consoles and other set top boxes.

Wii Shop and IOS51 installer is a very quick modification of PatchMii modified by Muzer that does one thing: It installs the new IOS51 and Wii Shop Channel, without installing the patches to all the other IOSes. This means that as long as you didn't update, you can now install this to use the Wii Shop Channel but keep all the benefits of not having the update.
Anybody at all could have made this, just everyone is too busy at the moment, so I figured I would make it. It's literally modifying 4 lines of code and commenting out a bunch of stuff. Because of this I didn't bother to include the source in the package, but if anyone wants me to, I'll happily include it.
This does not have the same effects as updating, so you get the best of both worlds.
You can do this on any system menu version and it will work fine, keeping the system menu version you have.
I made the program as two separate dol files, because it's easier and quicker for me that way, if this lasts a while I'll make a version that combines the two files.
NOTE: TAKE OUT ANY GAMECUBE MEMORY CARDS/CONTROLLERS AND USB DEVICES BEFORE INSTALLING ANYTHING. The first time one person installed the IOS51, and Shop Channel. One person had a Gamecube memory card, and a wireless adapter in the Wii, and it didn't install correctly. But after taking out all Gamecube items, re-installed everything and it worked fine. Axelpaxel was the one that found that USB devices did it too.
Instructions: Simply load one file, then the other. It does not matter in which order you load them. Use any method.
