Newly released today:
features
Play it again: Use the playback mode to see your jam recordings brought to life with dramatic camera angles.
Pick up the baton: Command an orchestra in the conducting game where you’ll wave the Wii Remote controller like a conductor’s baton to lead a Mii orchestra through orchestrated music. Make them play quickly, slowly, strongly or gently.
Ring a bell? Play a handbells game where you’ll swing your Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to play your two handbells as part of a larger ensemble. Everyone on the team has a job to do: Play one of your notes only when the tune demands it.
An ear for music: Take a tone quiz that tests your musical ear by giving you challenges, like putting note-playing Miis in order from lowest to highest pitch.
Bang the drum: Play a virtual drum set in the drumming mode, the one mode in Wii Music that also uses the Wii Balance Board accessory (sold with Wii Fit™). You’ll use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as drumsticks, and place both feet on the Wii Balance Board—which work as virtual pedals for the bass drum and hi-hat cymbal.
description
Get ready to broaden your musical horizons and perfect that inner beat as Wii Music beats onto Wii.
Discover the sweet sounds of over 60 instruments and experiment to recreate any one of the 50 included tracks. Featuring music of all styles, from the best of the classics to cult pop, and even some gaming tunes like Super Mario Bros; and instruments including steel drums, bass guitar, the saxophone and even a barking dog, Wii Music lets everyone easily re-create and perform their own interpretations in a way the whole family can enjoy.

Over at MTV's Multiplayer blog, they've gone a little Nintendo number crunching crazy. Based on data pulled from the Wii's Nintendo Channel, there's Wii software usages (as of October 5, 2008) for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii, Rock Band and many more! Interesting factoids:
• The average Super Smash Brother: Brawl owner in America has played the game more than 61 hours since the game's February release.
• The average Wii Fit consumer has played that exercise game more times than the average Okami fan has played Capcom’s wolf action-game.

The latest issue of Famitsu has a first report on Toshinden, a Wii fighting game from Takara Tomy.
You might hear the name "Takara" and "Toshinden" and think that this is a new version of the fighting series that, for better or worse, ended up being one of Sony's banner titles back at the original PlayStation's launch. Actually, a little sidebar in the Famitsu clarifies that the new title is a completely original game, with an original world setting and original characters. The Japanese kanji writing for the name is even different.
Like the old PlayStation fighter, the new Toshinden is weapon-based. The game's storyline revolves around a fight to determine the strongest "Toshinki," which appears to be just some fancy name for a weapon. The game's cast of fighters make use of these weapons.
Toshinden promises a "thrilling" combat system that can be experienced with a simple control scheme. Most attacks can be performed with a single button press. The game also has a "combo make system," which allows you to freely create an original combo.
Development on Toshinden is currently at 20% with a release listed by the magazine as TBA.

The Japanese website for Wii Music is listing six of the songs featured in the game BUT IS IT A GAME OR IS IT A TOY OR IS IT ART OR IS IT A GAME OR OR OR.
According to Siliconera, they include the theme tunes to Super Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing: Wild World.
You can also expect Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Ode to Joy from similarly dead composer Beethoven. And finally there's My Grandfather's Clock - a bluegrass song since covered by J-Pop artist Ken Hirai.
Wii Music is out in Japan this Friday, and will be released in Europe on November 14th. OR WILL IT yes actually.
