wabsta has released a demo of his Pokédex application. So far it lists 9 Pokémon from the game's original Pokédex, including descriptions, locations, and area maps.
Features:
First 9 Pokémon are viewable.
Scroll through them using buttons, or touchscreen.
Different descriptions for different regions.
Switch through the regions using buttons on the touchscreen.
Description, name, number, and type is shown for every pokémon.
A main menu, however, due a bug, you can't go back from the dex to the menu.
Credits, not complete yet though.
SKINABLE! Well, not exactly, atm there are only 2 skins, the default one made by me, and the default one, in another color, also made by me
In this version, the following things are still missing:
Save reading
An option menu
An option, to go back to the menu
Sound
The graphics from Curley

Hi all,
My first post here
I've been playing with the devkitARM for some time now and I implemented my first DS game. It's a computer version of the well known board game "Connect Four". The game has 3D graphics (not that it's very nice...) and three levels of difficulty. I tested it on my DSLite with Acekard 2 and on the No$Gba emu. Feel free to give it a try

Nintendo's DSi will be loaded with more RAM than the DS Lite, according to Opera CEO Jon von Tezchner. In an interview with TechTree, the man responsible for web surfing on Nintendo's handheld said that Opera would be sure to use the memory boost “efficiently.” That's great and all, but what does this mean for games?

As TGS attendees endured brutal waits to sample Monster Hunter 3, Capcom held a stage event in its booth to share some new details on the game.
The big news is something that appears to have been pulled from the Resident Evil 5 event, which was also held that day. Monster Hunter 3 will feature a horizontal split screen mode of play, allowing two players to play together in offline mode. Past console entries have only offered multiplayer play options when played online.
The stage event was held by producer Ryouzou Tsujimoto who discussed some of the new gameplay systems that are making their debut with Monster Hunter 3.
Tsujimoto revealed that large beasts now have something only the hunters from past entries in the series had: stamina. They lose their stamina with time, becoming weaker. Just as your hunters eat to recover their stamina, so to do the large beasts. They actually eat other monsters!
Other revelations include support for the Wii's Classic controller, for those wanting a control scheme that more closely resembles the PS2 version.
Joining these Monster Hunter 3 announcements, Capcom also revealed today that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G has topped the 2.5 million mark in sales (that's actual units sold, not shipped). A PSP Best version of the game will be released on October 30, with Tsujimoto expecting this budget version to further expand the series.

bugfixes:
- Fixed a memory leak in the parser. Some temporary memory was not released
correctly which caused the program to run out of memory prematurely.

does not happen anymore now the memory leak in the parser has been

For example, transparent areas would turn white or certain images
would be flipped.

improvements:
- Replaced the player and enemy graphics by larger and better looking ones.
- Improved hitbox-center-visibility indicator.
- Better antialiasing for the DS buttons on the options screen.
- Added hi-scores and scores. Hi-Scores are saved per game, difficulty,
character.

instead of just continuing.
- You can now have more than one level.

music.

Continuing its fascination with showing us every minute of its upcoming games via screenshots, Nintendo's released 66 shots of Animal Crossing: Lets go to the City, which is out in December.
The new game introduces (surprise) the city, where you can explore the theatre, a large department store and get mugged by chavs loitering outside the chicken shop (we made the last one up).
We've also attached some 'lifestyle' shots of a young lass pretending to play the game. We really like her... telly. Not sure about the plastic-y legs though...

Grasshopper Manufacture has announced No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle via a teaser trailer and, subsequently, a press conference.
Desperate Struggle will likely be published by Rising Star in Europe, and the previous game was on Wii, but there's no word on platforms yet. Eurogamer's Oli Welsh just attended a press conference for the game in Japan, and reports that it looks very much the same graphically, and there was no suggestion that it had switched platforms.
What we've seen so far, then, is a typically confident Travis Touchdown striding through lovely stylised locations before whipping out his beam katana. The first game saw Travis taking down rival assassins in his quest to be number one. We're now told he's on a quest for revenge, and is going to "take fighting seriously".
The first game was also smart and self-conscious, sending up rivals as it went, and typically for a Goichi Suda (or Suda 51) production, it was abstract and full of peculiar, ingenious touches, like mobile phone chats played through the Wiimote speaker. Expect more of that, as Suda has confirmed that he's writing the script again.
Speaking at the conference in Japan, he said he wanted to make a sequel partly to reward the surprisingly large numbers of fans the first game amassed in Europe and the US.
Check out our No More Heroes Wii review for more, and expect to hear more about Desperate Struggle this week after we speak to those involved during the Tokyo Game Show.

Capcom's released ten new Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop screens along with a fresh trailer straight from the Tokyo Game Show.
There might not be as many zombies on-screen as in the 360 version, but there are still plenty of options for wasting them - such as a sword, chainsaw, golf club or baseball bat - as these screens show.
The Wii title's due for release in Japan in February 2009, and we reckon the western versions should follow shortly afterwards.

Crayon has updated Wii-Tac-Toe, heres the details:
Wii-Tac-Toe is a Tic-Tac-Toe game for the Nintendo Wii. It was programmed in C++ using devkitPro along with GRRLIB.
The game can be played alone vs the CPU or with a friend using one Wiimote. The game AI does not always do the same moves, so the fun never stop.
To win the game, you have to place three marks (O or X) in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row. If the grid is filled completely and no one has won, well, it's a tie game. Start over and try to beat your opponent.
Version 0.2
Wii light is turn on when writing to SD card
Wordwrap function
A different hover color for player 1
Fixed finger weird behaviour on screen edge
Fade out when exiting game

It’s been a few months, but I’ve finally gotten the v1 Final of dsbuff complete. For those new to the program, it allows users to perform basic *.nds file manipulations in a single GUI (think Trim, DLDI Patch, Unpack, etc). The primary difference between this and the beta would be the addition of a crashme scanner, and quite a bit of debugging.
From the ReadMe:
dsbuff is a Windows .NET application which allows you to perform basic operations on *.nds files. It removes the need to use batch files or command line arguments just to perform a simple task.
How to Use dsbuff:
On the top of the form, you see a large browse button. Use this to find your *.nds file. Once you have done that, then there are several things you can consider doing. I think this would be a good place to list the features:
Trim
DLDI
Unpack
Pack
Arm7
Drive
CrashMe Scan
Edit the Header

Namco Bandai has unveiled a sequel to Wii balance board game Family Ski.
We Ski and Snowboard will arrive sometime next year, and unsurprisingly branches into the cooler side of piste activities.
To make this work, the balance board is rotated sideways to imitate a snowboard, with the Wiimote and nunchuk waved about to do tricks, according to GameSpot.
The visual style of Family Ski looks set to resurface in the sequel, as does support for Mii avatars.
Family Ski launched in Europe over the summer, and managed to entertain Ellie for a bit before she started telling rude jokes. One to fetch at bargain price, she said.
If, for some reason, you cannot wait until the sequel, then there's always Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip on Wii, which sounds more or less identical and is due out this winter.
