Fceux SVN r2896 is compiled. FCEUX is a cross platform, NTSC and PAL Famicom/NES emulator that is an evolution of the original FCE Ultra emulator. Over time FCE Ultra had separated into many separate branches. The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU. As the X implies, it is an all-encompassing FCEU emulator that gives the best of all worlds for the general player, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.

Nestopia Git (2013/03/18) is compiled. Nestopia has been abandoned for years. It's a great emulator, and losing it would be a shame. The purpose of this project is to keep Nestopia alive as long as possible and make sure it continues to work on modern Linux distributions. In the future, Windows builds may be maintained as well. Enhancements will be made in an attempt to make this the best, most user-friendly, standalone NES emulator on the Linux platform.
Nestopia Git (2013/03/18) changelog:
* Implemented libarchive decoder
Removed internal zip decoder
Cleaned up remaining internal 7zip code
Added explicit support for gzip, bzip2, and xz archives

GBA.js Git (2013/03/19) is released. Jeffrey Pfau released a new GameBoy Advance emulator. The project began last July. The first prototype took him five weeks. But it has worked for several weeks and several hours a day online prior to the first public version. The program runs on JavaScript. It is available online and works in a modern web browser. It runs on Chrome 20, Safari 6.0, Firefox 15 + (without sound) or Opera 12. It should also run on Internet Explorer 10. Firefox and Opera are particularly slow, it is better to use Safari or Chrome.
As a matter of law, no rom is provided on the official website. However, you can load these roms on your machine. The emulator does not handle compressed files. So please only download roms decompressed. The application sometimes crashes if the file has special characters.
Currently all parts of the GameBoy Advance hardware are implemented. You can save and load backups, send on your machine or your machine. GBA.js is able to take screenshots. It can set the emulation paused. It supports games containing real-time clocks (eg Pokemon).
GBA.js Git Changelog:
* New pulldown audio code
* Fix code copied from console to debugger
* Fix "off-key" audio
* Infrastructure for more views

Nintendo will launch the US 60Hz version of Punch-Out!!, the next Wii U Virtual Console release in Europe.The decision follows fan fury at the inferior 50Hz version of Balloon Fight launched on the PAL eShop in January.Nintendo of Europe subsequently shifted to the US 60Hz version of F-Zero last month, a policy it is evidently continuing.Punch-Out!! launches on Wii U eShop this Thursday, priced just 30p (€0.30).Also on the eShop this week - digital versions of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (on Wii U priced £49.99/€59.99, on 3DS priced £39.99/€44.99) and Need for Speed: Most Wanted U (£44.99/€59.99).There's a huge sale on Ubisoft games too, with ZombiU and Assassin's Creed both nearly half price (£30 instead of £55). Enjoyable downloadable-only title Little Inferno is cut-down in price again as well.

March 18th, 2013, 21:53 Posted By: wraggster
A number of big releases will this week enjoy significant discounts on Nintendo’s Wii U eShop digital game store.
Ubisoft has cut the price of all of its Wii U games, with big-hitters Zombi U and Assassin’s Creed III cut from (the admittedly extraordinarily high) £54.99 to £29.99.
Several have also been cut from £39.99 to £19.99 – Just Dance 4, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, Rabbids Land, Sports Connection and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013.
The cuts come as retail continues to discount the Wii U hardware in an effort to try and stimulate UK sales.

March 18th, 2013, 21:52 Posted By: wraggster
The self-perpetuating circle that is denting Wii U’s chances on the market has claimed two more victims.
Firstly, Saints Row IV publisher Deep Silver has confirmed to Polygon that the recently announced Saints Row IV is not due to make an appearance on Nintendo’s machine.
Secondly, fans of Dead Island: Riptide (which incidentally is also a Deep Silver game) have also been told not to expect a Wii U release for that title.
"One of the opportunities we had for Riptide was to continue the development of the engine, and really improve it and make a lot of refinements," creative producer Alexander Toplansky told Digital Spy.
"The things that are required to bring something to a new platform, you need to either really get to be integrating it deep into the engine, or you've got to [do] a port.
“Neither one of those was a satisfactory outcome for us, so we decided to do what we got platform-wise and just make sure that we can deliver the best experience we can."

March 18th, 2013, 21:42 Posted By: wraggster
The publisher of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor: Overclocked has expressed its desire to publish predecessor Devil Survivor 2.
However, in a candid blog post Ghostlight has admitted that the weakness of the European DS market may prevent the release. That’s not to say it isn’t working on a plan, however.
“Currently the European version of the game is finished and has been approved for release by Nintendo,” a statement said. “However, without going into too much detail, retail support for DS titles is understandably low at the moment making it difficult for us to release the title.
“We haven’t given up though and we’re currently looking into several different ways of making this fantastic game available to you all. One way that I’ve heard being discussed on the Ghostlight grapevine is that we may release a Collector’s Edition of the game exclusively through our website which will mean we’d need your full support in making this release happen.
“I’ve probably said too much already, but you can expect more news on this in the coming weeks.”
