Hebereke is a rather silly non-linear platformer by Sunsoft, released on the Famicom in 1991. It plays similarly to Blaster Master or Metroid, in that you must traverse a rather large world in search of new characters and powerups in order to access new areas. The game was popular enough that it spawned an entire series, and Hebe (the main character) remained Sunsoft’s mascot in Japan for much of the 1990s. The game was released in Europe and Australia in 1992 under the title Ufouria, with significant changes made to the story and two of the main characters; a U.S. release was planned, but eventually cancelled.
This patch completely translates all of the dialogue, including the intro and ending sequences, and fixes a couple of bugs present in the original game. It has been tested on the PowerPak and works flawlessly with the latest mapper files.

Pandamar is an extremely rare Famiclone version of Super Mario Bros 1 (NES) that makes Mario look like a panda with a really bizarre but cute appearance, now released for the first time as an IPS patch. Changes nearly all the graphics in the game. Also includes really annoying repetitive original music. Can be combined with other Super Mario Bros patches to create strange hybrid versions

Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot has pledged to continue supporting Wii U but believes the system must perform better to draw more investment. "We think Wii U is a great machine. But it just has to sell more," Guillemot told MCV.The experienced publishing executive revealed that the company's upcoming cross-generation title, Watch Dogs, is being developed for Wii U with an expanded development team following an impressive unveiling at E3 2012."E3 was a great revelation for Watch Dogs," Guillemot said. "It gave us a chance to increase the whole project, giving the studio the chance to have bigger teams to help them achieve this goal they have. You always have great ideas, but you need enough people to bring it to life. After E3, we really made sure they had all the teams they needed and all the capacity they wanted to fulfil their dream."Ubisoft recently triggered controversy by announcing that Rayman Legends, previously a title exclusive to Wii U, would be released for all current gen consoles in September. In January Nintendo slashed its Wii U sales forecast and admitted that there is a lack of sales momentum with the system.Wii U accounted for about 1.6 per cent of UK game sales in January, while it has been reported that the console sold "well under" 100,000 units the US during the same month.

Supermarket giant Asda has cut the price of Wii U, with the Premium Pack with Nintendo Land now on sale for just £249.
The supermarket chain has also cut the 8GB Basic set to £199, with ShopTo also going below the £200 mark. Both retailers hope the reductions can help stimulate sales of the hardware.
Wii U has struggled to gain traction in the market since its launch last year, performing below expectations for a new console. The price cut arrives ahead of the launch of some overdue Wii U titles, namely LEGO City Undercover and Monster Hunter 3.
The offer is available from the Asda Direct website.

Square Enix could be on the verge of announcing a Wii U version of sci-fi epic Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
CVG spotted a listing for a “modified” version of the title with the Australian Classification Board, which it speculates could be for DLC or possibly even a Wii U port.
The latter theory might seem a bit extreme, but asEurogamer points out, Australian studio Straight Right has previously confirmed that it is working on a “big” Wii U port – a project that was later confirmed as a Square Enix game.
Straight Right was the outfit behind the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3, a game that was mechanically sound even if it did perform well below expectations at retail.
The port, if confirmed, would be welcome news for the console, which has been shunned by recent multiformat action releases such as Crysis 3.

Publisher and platform holder disinterest prompted project cancellation
A planned Wii U version of shooter Crysis 3 has been canned after a lack of interest from EA and Nintendo, Crytek CEO and president Cevat Yerli has said.
“We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it,” Yerli toldVentureBeat.
“But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves – we don't have a publishing license – Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.”
Wii U has been subject to a number of misses when it comes to ports from PS3 and Xbox 360. Following a poor critical and consumer reception for Aliens: Colonial Marines, there was speculation that its scheduled Wii U version would be cancelled, but as it stands the title is still believed to be in production.
Nintendo has been positioning Wii U as a machine for core gamers, investing money to get titles such as Batman: Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed III and Call of Duty: Black Ops II on the system.

Developer sees the game as a gift to Nintendo console owners
The developer bringing the old school fighter Retro City Rampage to the WiiWire, Brian Provinciano, says he doesn’t expect to profit from this version of game because of the costs involved with porting the title.
And he’s told Nintendo Life that he’s fine with that.
“Between the office rent, hardware, insurance, game ratings and other costs, had I not done the WiiWare version, I could’ve saved around $20,000 – not even including my salary in porting it,” he said.
“And as it stands, virtually no games hit the threshold these days, so it's only being released as fan service. A $20,000 gift to the fans.”
Provinciano had to acquire office space to work from, despite being a solo act, before being allows access to a WiiWare development kit.

[Derecho] grabbed a PAL format Super Nintendo but wanted to make it play nicely with a 60 Hertz NTSC screen. His hack added a single switch to choose between 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
Take a look at the image above to see his alterations to the mainboard. The jumpers soldered to the two chips at the top are by far the trickiest part of the project. Each of the pins he soldered to needed to first be lifted from the PCB pad so that they no longer make contact with the etched traces. The technique he used involves heating the pin with an iron, then gently lifting it with a pin or a razor knife/blade. If you’ve got some experience populating SMD boards with a handheld iron this shouldn’t prove too difficult. The rest of the hack involves adding a 3-position switch (along with a 2k2 resistor) to choose between output modes based on what format game is being played.

"Kickstarted, randomly-generated 2D Wii U platformer" is no longer the exclusive domain of Cloudberry Kingdom. With the announcement of Another Castle, it becomes an unexpectedly specific genre.
Another Castle is the work of developer Uncade, the company name of lone wolf developer David Byers, and takes place in a series of randomly generated side-scrolling levels in which you look for an item which is, inevitably, not there – a reference to the elusive Princess Peach. When you finish the game, the item is unlocked and actually attainable in future playthroughs.
Byers submitted a prototype to Nintendo and got approved as an eShop developer, suggesting that Nintendo is loosening its restrictions on things like developer size. Another Castle is planned for release on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Ouya in addition to Wii U. It's being supported by a Kickstarter, with a tiny $12,000 goal. A playable prototype can be found on the official site.

Konami has explained why Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 isn't coming to the Wii U.Producer Dave Cox told Eurogamer there aren't enough resources or budget available to create a Wii U port of the upcoming PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 action game this late in the development cycle. To do so Konami would have to grow Spanish developer MercurySteam by around 20 people - something that's not feasible at this time."The reason why we are developing it on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is simply because that's the amount of people we got," Cox said. "If we want to do a Wii U conversion, that's another 20 people. We just don't have the resources or the budget to do it."It's not to say we wouldn't do it, it's to say at this point we don't want to lose focus on what we're doing. We've got a certain way down the line, and it would be a distraction to have to do a port to another system at this point."With the release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, a game that acts as a bridge between CLOS1 and CLOS 2, on Nintendo 3DS, some have said Konami is obliged to release CLOS 2 on Wii U so Nintendo platform owners can conclude the Lords of Shadow trilogy on their chosen hardware.Cox said Konami may look at creating a Wii U port in the future, but it's not on for now."Game development is about managing resources," he said. "You say to yourself, can I take on another 20 people? It's just a nightmare to manage at this point. That's the only reason why we're not doing any other formats."Also, the MercurySteam office is at breaking point right now. It's rammed. They bought the office for 60 people, and there are 110 now. People are sitting on each other's laps almost. It's all these kind of logistical issues about the development."http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-28-why-castlevania-lords-of-shadow-2-isnt-coming-to-wii-u
