C aH4e3 updated his site with the following message:
CaH4e3 обновил свой сайт следующей информацией:
- Super Real Bout 97 (Unl)[!]. Bought this cart a long time ago, but wasn't able to dump it by the unknown reason. Today has plugged it into the dumper and did it surprisingly very easy. It's another 121 mapper game, so you can play it on most modern emulators. Basicly it's a modified version of the well known "Garou Densetsu Special".
- GLK Book 48-in-1 (Unl)[!], Magistr-Genie 2 (Unl)[!]. Two more education cartridges follows. Both on the same 178 mapper, but the second one just a little more interesting, because of extra sound chip on it's PCB, used for the speach generation. Actually, I don't know exactly the chip's type, but suspect that it's an ADPCM voice codec and data that sent to it by the program actually is a command flow for the speech samples selection, not an actual sound data. I'd like to be wrong, but if not, we can't play it without samples extraction. So I put this here, maybe someone can make it play. Some of this cartridge's programs are english-russian dialogues or interactive bilangual stories.
- DreamGEAR 101-in-1 (Unl)[U][!]. Nothing special, just another one DreamGEAR clone with the original crappy games.
- Super Mario Bros. 2j (Alt)(Unl)[U][!]. Nothing special part 2, just another FDS conversion of SMB2j. This time it's an alternative lite version just with 40K or PRG and 8K of CHR ROMs, so most probably something is ripped there.

Fire Emblem Awakening shifted 180,000 units across its debut month at North American retail, Nintendo of America tells us. In a statement sent to Joystiq, the company said the tactical 3DS RPG enjoyed best ever first month sales in the franchise's nearly 23-year history. No doubt that was helped by a strong eShop uptake of 63,000 units, which comes in at 35 percent of total sales.
Considering the series' last entry, Shadow Dragon, sold just over 250,000 units in North America to date, Awakening's sales bump over here is impressive, much as we thought the game was in our review. We awarded Awakening four and a half stars, deeming it "the best soap opera since CBS canceled Guiding Light," which is certainly saying something.

Zen Studios has finally provided a concrete date for Zen Pinball 2 on Wii U in North America: Thursday, March 21. The free download will be available on the eShop next week, which lets you sample all available tables in Zen Pinball 2's vault for a limited amount of time before purchase is necessary.
Tables are purchased piecemeal through the in-game store, tables including the stock game tables and DLC such as the Marvel Pinball series and the Plants vs. Zombies tie-in. The freshly minted Star Wars tables have not been announced for Nintendo platforms, so naturally there's no mention of them in the announcement.
Finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that purchases on other platforms won't transfer over to the Wii U. Zen Studios offered cross-play on PS Vita and PS3, but since the 3DS and Wii U use different stores, transferring already established content from the handheld to the Wii U is impossible.

March 15th, 2013, 22:18 Posted By: wraggster
Wii U’s poor performance in the February US market has been compounded by worrying noise from the country’s leading games retailer.
“Following the holiday launch period, sales have been slower than we expected,” GameStop president Tony Bartel told Forbes. “Nintendo plans on launching some of their biggest IP over the next few months which we think will increase gamer interest.
“Software will play a big role in each console’s success over the holidays. We’re already seeing great developer and publisher support for PS4, so Wii U will need some great titles, especially first-party titles, to compete. There’s also a need to increase consumer awareness of the new features available on the Wii U and its tethered tablet features.”
Nonetheless, Bartel remains optimistic that the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft will enjoy a far stronger start to life on the High Street.
“It will be huge,” he replied when asked what impact the machines will have. “Dollars are flowing towards new technology so we believe gaming consumers are ready for innovation. We expect these new console launches to re-energize the entire industry.
“Video gaming is much more mainstream now than it was at the start of the last cycle, so there are a lot more dollars to fight for this time around. I also think consumers’ expectations for technology improvements are much greater now than it was seven years ago. Finally, gaming is becoming increasingly social, so continuing to expand the connection to other gamers will be key.”

Estimated sales of just 64,000 units in February have left Wii U facing up to the reality of being the worst selling new console in two generations.
Many had expected a better performance last month after an influx of pre-owned units on the market in January was blamed for poor sales at the turn of the year.
In fact, Gamasutra reports that sales in January were so poor that Wii U posted worse numbers than were ever seen with PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Xbox or Wii.
Interestingly the only console that has in recent memory posted comparable numbers was the GameCube, and only then when the machine was on its last legs and its successor had already been announced.
Xbox and PlayStation machines have only ever posted similar numbers in weeks before a price cut was scheduled to be introduced.
Voices of dissent from within the industry are growing increasingly louder, with the perception being that Nintendo has to act quickly if Wii U is to reverse its fortunes.
Big hopes are now pinned on upcoming Wii U exclusive LEGO City Undercover, which hits the UK on March 28th. The game has a fairly decent 79 per cent average on Metacritic, but with Wii U’s install base still disappointingly small the game will have to hit the status of system seller if it is to have an overtly positive impact.

It’s not been a good morning for Wii U.
The console is posting a historically poor performance in the US and leading retail figures are urging action to reverse the slide.
Now Nintendo’s digital strategy is being questioned after it was revealed that gamers hoping to download LEGO City Undercover will need to purchase an external hard drive to do so.
Eurogamer reports that a rumoured file size of 22GB is to blame. The entry-level Basic Wii U ships with just 8GB of storage (just 3GB of which is free) while the Premium offers 32GB (with 25GB free).
It’s a bitter pill to swallow after Nintendo’s lofty promise of a concrete and competitive digital ecosystem for the console and makes a bit of a mockery of the console’s simultaneous digital and retail release strategy.
Considering that Xbox 360 and PS3 ship with hard drives with anything up to 500GB, the Wii U’s storage provisions look baffling at best.

Disney Infinity signs on in North America on August 18, with the international release in most regions set for August 20. Speaking to the New York Times, Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants said the multiplatform game's two month delay from an initial June window was one of "opportunity" rather than necessity.
"We could deliver in June if we wanted to," Pleasants told the New York Times. "Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops."
When approached, Disney Interactive provided us with the folllowing statement from Pleasants: "We have moved the launch date for Disney Infinity to August 18 to capitalize on the critical fall retail season."
A Disney Interactive spokesperson also told Joystiq the UK release date is August 23.
Disney Infinity, which incorporates physical Disney toy figures and spans many of the company's high profile properties, looks a powerful competitor to Activision's Skylanders series. While the New York Times reports Pleasants "downplayed comparisons" between the two franchises, he did say ofSkylanders Swap Force's fall release that "it's good to be first and really lean into the most important selling season of the year."

GameStop president Tony Bartel says the US retailer has experienced "slower than expected" Wii U sales since Christmas. The executive told Forbes: "Following the holiday launch period, sales have been slower than we expected."Nintendo plans on launching some of their biggest IP over the next few months which we think will increase gamer interest."Notable upcoming Wii U titles include this month's Lego City Undercover and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, while Pikmin 3 is slated for release in the April to June window.3D Mario and Mario Kart games for Wii U will also be shown for the first time at E3 in June.Asked what he thinks Nintendo needs to do to compete with Sony and Microsoft this autumn, Bartel added: "Software will play a big role in each console's success over the holidays. We're already seeing great developer and publisher support for PS4, so Wii U will need some great titles, especially first-party titles, to compete."There's also a need to increase consumer awareness of the new features available on the Wii U and its tethered tablet features."In the past few weeks, multiple UK retailers have taken it on themselves to slash the Wii U pricein a bid to stimulate sales.Nintendo president Satoru Iwata flatly ruled out the possibility of introducing an official Wii U price cut in January.

Poor American Pokémon trainers that have been eying up eBay listings and import sites can breathe a sigh of relief. Nintendo has announced that the special edition yellow 3DS XL -- emblazoned with Pikachu, no less -- will arrive in the States before the end of the month. Priced at $200 and packaged with a 4GB SD memory card, it'll arrive the same day as the latest Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game -- that's March 24th if you've got your pokédiary out. Walmart, Target, GameStop and Toys R S will all be stocking the handheld, although quantities are limited, so get your trucker cap, pokéballs and unerringly small backpack ready to brave those chains in a few weeks.

[Akira] can play any Game Boy, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES, or SMS game while on the go thanks to all the work he put into this portable gaming hack. The outside seems familiar; it’s an original Game Boy case. But you should immediately notice that it has a few extra buttons. That’s the first clue that what’s inside isn’t stock… which is a huge understatement.
The idea for the project started off rather simple, but quickly got out of hand (check out the build log for full details on that). He thought it would be nice to have a backlight for the original screen. After mixed results he scrapped the original mainboard and started anew with some Nintendo DS Lite hardware. It had a broken LCD connector so he tried a couple of different fixes to get it working again. After some success he started adding more equipment, like the extra pair of buttons, a better speaker on the battery door, and the microSD add-on you can see above.
You can catch a demo of the finished goods after the jump.
