pimmysays who says he posted the Wii Hack Video on has posted this:
alright guys, here's the deal, "nester72" released his so called "bootloader" on to our ftp server last night, however I can now confirm that his video (which was uploaded by me) is 100% FAKE! I do apologize if I lead any one to believe that this video was more then a fake but like you, I was hoping that this video was the real deal but unfortunately it did not turn out that way. I'm sure that sometime in the near future homebrew and LEGAL backups will be playable on the wii.
So until the likes of us post that a hack is for real then take all the news with a pinch of salt until then.

Those of you have a Neo2 Flashcart will love this, a new software update from Neoflash:
Merry X'mas and happy new year! Here is a small gift from NEOTEAM
before 2007! Hope you like it.
NEO2 Menu v1.3 [12-31-2006]
New in this version:
* Supports NDS homebrew
* "X Button to Backup ROM" message
* Many small crash fixes (Magical Vacation 5, Monster House, etc.)
* Corrupt graphics fixes (Harry Potter, Monster Bomber, etc.)
* Many non-booting games fixed (Shrek, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, etc.)
* Many saves fixed (Final Fantasy III, etc.)
* Many "exit game" bugs fixed (Star Fox, Bust-A-Move, etc.)
* New Super Mario mini games fixed
* Supports the official *.SRL file format
* Added FAT warning function, it'll report an error if it detects
file system fragmentation, then please re-format your SD/TF
About homebrew:
Homebrew ROMs can only read files and directories from SD if they are
designed for it. That's why you see some with different builds for
"SC CF" and "SC SD", for example. There's nothing restricting homebrew
from using the SD file system. Chishm's NDS FAT lib should support
Neo2 SD well enough.
About file system fragmentation:
Also keep in mind that fragmented file systems are still not supported.
A fragmented ROM WILL have problems running. You can check for file
fragmentation using the "analyze" button in Windows XP's defrag tool.
If it warns of fragmentation, do not defragment. It is much faster to
erase all files or format the card, then copy everything you want back to it.
Rule of thumb: if you have to delete a file, you should delete them all.
About random crash:
The reason is because some MK4-mini burn with a wrong code during produce,
please check your MK4-mini version mark above the golden finger, if you
can see your MK4-mini is "MAGICKEY4-Mini VE1" or "MAGICKEY4-Mini VL2"
version and with PURPLE PCB color, then mean your MK4-mini MAYBE have
problem, and notice please:
[1] Except these 2 version, all other version working fine without any
random crash matter;
[2] Not all of these 2 version will crash, just SOME of them;
[3] If your MK4-mini have random crash matter and it's in these 2 version,
you can send back to the shop and ask for replacement.

Nintendo gives a 3 language safety warning
For those that have ordered replacement wrist straps, shipments have started to arrive across America in the mail.
Well packed in nice bubble wrap, and identical to the original straps, except the cord that attaches to the remote is thicker and stiffer. Other than that as pictures have suggested earlier I can assure you that the rest of the strap is unchanged.
The straps also come packed with yet another warning from Nintendo! And not just any well packed warnings but in three languages no less; Stressing how to ensure an “enjoyable and safe play experience.”
I really do suggest putting this warning away in a safe place it will become a piece of Nintendo memorabilia and when you look back through gaming history you can say- “I was there when people broke their televisions in the name of Gaming”
The new three language safety warning on how to play safe is as follows:
Before setup and use of the Wii system, please review this safety information to insure an enjoyable and safe play experience.
1) Wear the wrist strap when using the Wii Remote.
Make sure all players use the wrist strap and that the strap lock is correctly tightened. When sharing the Wii Remote between multiple players, make sure each person using the remote properly uses the wrist strap. Wearing the wrist strap will prevent you from accidentally dropping or throwing the remote during game play which could damage the remote or surrounding objects, or cause injury to other people.
2) Do not let go of the remote during game play.
For example, in a game like Wii Sports bowling, the ball is thrown by simply releasing the B Button on the remote, not by letting go of the remote! Hold the remote securely and avoid excessive motion during game play. If your hands become moist, stop and dry your hands. Excessive motion may cause you to let go of the remote and may break the wrist strap.
3) Allow adequate room around you during game play.
Stay at least three (3) feet away from the television. Make sure objects and other people are out of your range of movement or arm motion to prevent damage or injury.

New release from nornagon
Hi all,
World of Sand (beta 1)
I hacked this up over the last couple of days and the folks on #dsdev seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd link it here for your pleasure.
Note that the idea for the game isn't original; the code is mostly from a clone I made of the game by Dofi (written in Java, eugh).
The performance isn't great yet, but it's acceptable. The code will be released when I get around to dropping it on a version control system, under the GPL. There are a bunch more features I plan to add, including:
a title screen
more materials/combinations (steam, ash, snow, ideas welcome)
portrait view
a hideable toolbox instead of the arrow-key-selected icons
a way to stop/start the flow of individual sources
different brush sizes
timer and particle count on the top screen
save/load to png

Bob_Fossil has released WordWrap for the Nintendo DS, heres the full info:
Someone asked for a DS version of a popular word jumbling game, so here it is. It's a very early version so there's some bugs and issues with the word generation / selection and the touchscreen.
It uses 2of4brif from the 12dicts zip file for the words.
You'll need to patch the .nds file with a DLDI patcher so it will work with your flash card - assuming there is a DLDI driver for you card. Have a look at http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/ if that last sentence made no sense whatsoever.
Tested on a m3sd and Dualis. wordlist.dat and the .nds need to go in the root - haven't tried it from a sub directory.
http://home.clara.net/adamhodson/wordwrap.zip
You can add extra words to wordlist.dat using a text editor (needs Windows linefeeds) - just be careful with the memory.
Adam
He also updated with a new version too, heres the details:
New version 0.02 up at
http://home.clara.net/adamhodson/wordwrap-002.zip
What's new:
- Switched to a more readable font.
- Improvements to word list generator.
- Left and right shoulder buttons does 'back'.
- Missing words for the current puzzle shown when you click 'new'.
- You're now told if the word you entered isn't in the list or has already been found.

DPGPlay is a player and demuxer for DPG0/1/2 files. It's Windows only, but this could be re-implemented pretty easily on Linux since what actually plays the video and audio is mplayer. Source is provided for both the program and the demuxer.
http://download.utorrent.com/DPGPlay_v2.8.7z
I haven't fixed the darkness issue with RGB21/18/15. Fix is pending help from erspicu_brox with his AviSynth plugin.
Changelog:
v2.8
-Seeking is fixed, but this requires an installation of AviSynth 2.56 or later. http://www.avisynth.org/
Uncheck use AviSynth if you can't or don't want to install AviSynth.
-Since AviSynth is used now, you can play the AVS in pretty much anything now, such as Media Player Classic.
-Alternate video output option added in case video playback gives you green video.
v2.7
-Private test build
v2.6
-GOP list output actually works now
-DPGs with 32768Hz audio properly supported
-mplayer now resamples audio to 48KHz on playback (the mp2 is still untouched), so it should sound a bit better (though the volume output is a little quieter) on most soundcards.
-code cleaned up somewhat

Once plugged in you can turn on your game player and select to run the GBA cartridge if you’re using a DS. You’ll then have the option of choosing a thin dude or Mario to be your MP3 player mascot. Left and right on the D-Pad moves the character up and down the steps and selects the song associated with the current step. Press the A button to play and pause and even make your chosen character dance. And if you haven’t plugged in your headphones get ready for horrible music coming through your DS’ speakers.
How to make them dance.
Yeah so the DS’ speakers mangle any and all MP3’s. Plug your headphones into the DS’ headphone jack and it’s just as bad. Plug your headphones into the Nintendo MP3 Player headphone jack and it sounds perfect. Yep, even with all these quirks the sound quality is absolutely perfect and crystal clear. As your songs play you can tap the A button in different patterns to make your character do different dance moves and even bring out his or her friends on the vacant steps. It’s amusing for about 5 seconds.
Import Friendly?
It’s from the UK.
Pros
Crystal clear sound
You can make Mario dance
Cons
No headphones included
No SD card included
No playlists
Sticks out from your DS
Doesn’t support GBA or GBA SP
MP3 player controls are barebones

And rounding up the recent deluge of Square-Enix trailers from their annual Jump Festa event, this Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates trailer certainly impresses. There's some shiny text, and then a long, confusing sequence in which one tries to focus on five different scenes in the picture at once. Leave it to SE to try and simply overwhelm your senses ... they're rather good at that.
The original Crystal Chronicles was a bit of a let-down, but this title can hopefully bring FF:CC out of the "crappy Final Fantasy spin-offs" category. Oh, and for a slightly higher quality version of the trailer, click here for the official movie from Square-Enix's website.
(And did anyone check out what appeared to be a stylus-based fire spell around 1:41? Awesome.)

Alekmaul has released a new version of his Amstrad 6128 Emulator for the DS called AmeDS, heres the translated whats new/info:
Here the adaptation of a Amstrad emulator for DS!
It is an adaptation, at the beginning, of Caprice32 of Ulrich Doewich ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/caprice32/). Then, the emulator followed much modification to try to make it faster, thing to which I am not for the not arrived moment…
Presentation
Amstrad CPC 464 is a micro-computer of the range Amstrad CPC, with posting colors, comprising 64 KB of RAM, 32 KB in ROMANIAN and using the language Locomotive BASIC 1.0, considered by some impassioned the best BASIC having ever existed.
Amstrad CPC 6128 is an evolution of Amstrad CPC 464 inside the range of Amstrad CPC. It had the same Z80 processor to 4 MHz, but was equipped with 128 KB read-write memory (including 64 KB of memory paginated) instead of 64 KB, and 48 KB read-only memory instead of 32 KB. In more it laid out of a disk drive 3 inches whose capacity could go up to 178 KB per face, much faster than the cassette player, and integrated a language BASIC in read-only memory. It was delivered with diskettes comprising two versions of the utility and operating system CP/M (CP/M 2.2 and CP/M3+) many.
Derived from the CPC 464, the CPC 6128 had in practice less free read-write memory for the user than his predecessor. On the one hand the 128 KB of RAM actually consisted of 64 KB of paginated memory, on the other hand its operating system charged the pilot of the disk drive in addition to the pilot of the cassette player.
Version 1.1 of the 30/12/2006
* A little faster
* Addition of the sound
* Addition of displacement in the choice of the files if the supported key is left
* Addition of a menu of option in the place of the icons in bottom of the screen
* Possibility of changing the assignment of the keys of the DS
* Better centered screen
* Safeguard year format SNA (in small the OPTIONS)

I've made the card game Skip-Bo using DSLua. To move a card, tap it then tap the spot where you want to put it. The only main difference between this and the actual game is that you only get one card for each discard pile, so if you try to put a card on top of another card in your discard pile the other card will be erased first.
There's more information in readme.txt (which you'll need)
DSLua 0.6 doesn't work in emulators so I can only give a titlescreen screenshot.

The Gamecube Emulator for WIndows Gcube has risen from the ashes, heres the info thanks to emu64
It seems this awesome GameCube emulator is back and being worked on. From monk himself...
So... gcube did mean to die at o.4, but after a long while of complete inactivity, I picked it up again and made a bunch of improvements. Unfortunately I'm not able to release the newest version just yet. I was trying to make it a Christmas gift this year, but the university took all of my time. Fortunately I graduated this week so that's out of the way. In January I will start looking for a job, and after I get one, again I won't have so much time to work on this project, but I will definitely release 1.o version in the few upcoming months. Keep in mind 1.o doesn't mean it will be finished, or even fully functional. It just means gcube has reached the goals I set up for it...
