Sensei posted a new Virtua Cop style game for the Nintendo DS, heres the translated details:
Presentation:
It is about a play of shot for the DS. The originality lies in the fact that it is necessary to aim at the enemies who appear on the screen top while tapping on the screen of bottom. One thus aims at best as if there were a firearm…
The experts will have recognized the decoration of the play (a little modified) and the character with abbatre is not other than the hero of Kid Chameleon on Megadrive (I do not have anything against him, with the contraitre, I find the hero well class), of or titrates it.
History:
First exit 18/12/2006. Version beta 0.1
How to play:
One touches the touch screen to draw on the screen the top…
One reloads with L.
Other information:
For the moment there is no Challenge.
The difficulty is badly regulated. At the beginning, the enemi seldom appears, then its appearances multiply as the score is increased. From 30, one arrives at the maximum difficulty and it is still rather easy…
On the screen of bottom, one can see the number of shootings carried out, the number of enemies abbatus and numbers it missed enemis (if that Ci recache).
I would like to center the challenge on the coefficient <tirs/ennemis abbatus> like on the number of enemis abbatus. If I arrive has corser the difficulty, I make a game over at the end of a certain number of loupés enemies. I also think of setting up a system of combos, i.e. to kill the enemies in a ball and the enchainer without drawing with with dimensions.

Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl is, beyond doubt, the most anticipated release in the American market for the wonderous and fancy DS. Despite runaway sales in Japan and critical success, however, Nintendo has remained extremely tight-lipped about its eventual release date, with nothing more than a "TBA 2007" showing up in their catalogs.
The latest Nintendo Power, however, seems to have mention of a Spring release; those trusty soldiers at NeoGAF seem to have their heads on straight. Furthermore, Nintendo's official Pokemon website is now claiming an April 22nd release date, and despite Nintendo's penchant for delaying games till all eight planets align, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. We won't lie ... we want this game, stigma be damned. The Pokemon franchise, if nothing else, has repeatedly demonstrated engrossing gameplay and attention to detail, and the new Wi-Fi trading system just makes it all the sweeter.
Wanna know what else? Nintendo Power gave the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Justice for All a 9 out of 10. Awesome. If David didn't mention that you have to love Phoenix Wright to come work here, then consider this an amendment of epic proportions.

Nintendo rep Stephaie Bole posted this news:
"The Nintendo DS appeals to all members of the public, which explains why it is the first console to break through the 2 million barrier so quickly after its launch in France. For the last few days, more games are being sold on Nintendo DS than on any other games platform in France, and more and more publishers are actively participating in this dynamic. The sales trend is actually experiencing a phenomenal acceleration without precident in the videogames market."
The system was launched in March 2006, good eh ?

New US game for the Wii released today:

features
Play as Boog and Elliott and relive the movie adventure!
Interact with Beth, Shaw, and all your animal favorites from the Open Season film!
Throw skunk bombs, hurl rabbits, use acorn-firing squirrels, and pull outrageous woodland pranks to scare the pants off the hunters!
Roll in a giant snowball, ride the rapids on a floating outhouse, zip through tunnels in a crazy mine cart ride, and take on more madcap adventures as Boog discovers how to get wild, animal-style!
Challenge your friends in hilarious four-player mini-games!
description
Team up with a cast of crazy critters, unleashing your animal instincts in Open Season™, the game - a riotous romp in the great outdoors where the rowdy brood of forest animals turns the tables on a bunch of unsuspecting hunters.
When a domesticated grizzly named Boog gets lured into leaving the creature comforts of home by a fast-talking mule deer named Elliot, he finds himself lost in the woods just three days before hunting season. Forced to "rough it" in the great outdoors, Boog goes native, rallying all the forest animals to take back their home and send the hunters packing.

Hmm some sites will post any old rubbish to try and get hits but more worrying for the Homebrew community is the claims from a video on Youtube that the Wii has been hacked to run back ups, this will of course piss the mighty Nintendo off and if real do harm to their console.
This could also be a right lump of turd too, check out the video here --> http://www.youtube.com/v/UKkbxCEzYJw
The video shows someone putting what seems a normal cd with zelda files on the Wii then via the photo channel clicking a boot loader.
Could this be an exploit for homebrewers ?

The acrobatic Prince of Persia is making his way to Wii in Prince of Persia Rival Swords - a remake of PoP: The Two Thrones which released on multiple formats in 2005.
Of course, the Wii version will have remodelled controls that'll have you swinging and shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to make the Prince jump, flip and fight his way through levels.
The first screens, which can be viewed below, come with small controller diagrams that reveal a few of the gameplay mechanics that make use of the movement sensitive Remote.
By the looks of it, you'll be using the Nunchuk analogue stick to control the Prince's movement, and swinging the Nunchuk to use his metallic Daggertail whip. The images also appear to show a surprise stealth kill executed by thrusting the Wii Remote downwards.
Prince of Persion Rival Swords is the latest in a growing list of Ubisoft remakes, including Blazing Angels, Far Cry Vengeance, Splinter Cell Double Agent and more, brought to Wii months or, in some cases, over a year after the original release.
Rival Swords will be released in March 2007, by which time the original game will have been out for almost a year and a half. Will the new controls make it worth playing again? We're not so sure.

In just a few short hours -- at precisely 12pm ET -- Tennis (NES), Space Harrier II (Genesis), and Military Madness (TurboGrafx-16) will clamber out of their Craftmatic adjustable beds and drag their weary bones onto the Wii's Shop Channel, part of a weekly ritual we've come to know as Virtual Console Mondays.
They may be old, but that doesn't mean they don't have any self respect! Nope, if you want to reignite that old fling, you're gonna need to pay ... just not as much as you used to. Though this troika of platform-specific releases have temporarily joined forces on the Wii, a distinct class system is still evident. NES titles, like Tennis, fetch a cool 500 Wii Points, while Genesis titles, like Space Harrier II, are going for 800 Wii Points. That's 100% more bits for only 60% more Points! Clearly, you can see the injustice being perpetrated here!
All the while TurboGrafx-16 is still rambling on about that 16-bit graphics chip of his, so they figured an extra 100 Wii Points for those games oughta shut him up.

January's EGM is running a rumour about the next coming of Katamari, and how it might be making an appearance on not only the Wii but on Xbox Live Arcade as well. The Wii version sounds intriguing, but really, will it be anything more than the same old game with novel, twitchy controls? I hope not, but my magic 8-ball says "LIKELY".
An XBLA version sounds both more probable AND profitable. Then again, if Keita Takahashi isn't behind the wheel during development (which he won't be), neither will probably end up being any good, and we needn't concern ourselves.

News always sounds more exotic when it comes from Jeux-France. But their rumours....they verge on being delicious. I wish we called ours "rumeurs". They sound sexier that way. I bet Jeux-France could bed a woman just by whispering "rumeur" lightly in her ear.
Anyway...JF are passing along a pondering that the DS is in line for another update, due sometime in 2007. The only info appears to be that they'll be increasing the screen size dramatically, going from 3 inches to between 3.5 and 3.8. That'd be nice, but is it really necessary? Three different versions of the same hardware is a bit much, even by Nintendo's standards.
Do Nintendo Really Need to Improve the DS as it is now ?

Following Friday's revelation that Nintendo is offering Wii owners a free replacement wrist-strap, the company has offered more details on how customers can take action here in the UK.
Reiterating that it's a "voluntary exchange programme" and not the "recall" declared by some, Nintendo says that you should contact your nearest Nintendo Service Centre, which can be done via email (wiiwriststrap@codestorm.co.uk), telephone (0870 60 60 247 - national rate) or post (Wii Wrist Strap, Nintendo Service Centre, CoDEStorm House, Walton Road, Farlington, PO6 1TR).
From our conversation with a Nintendo spokesperson on Friday, it sounds like you'll need to post them your existing strap in order to be sent a replacement with a thicker connecting cord. Similar schemes are already in place in Japan and the US.

News from CVG
After all that malarkey last week about Wii Remotes flying from people's hands into TVs, lampshades and eyes, Nintendo has released yet another document on "proper Wii Remote usage", along with starting their wrist strap replacement service today.
The first guidelines have been said about a thousand times before, not to mention put into game loading screens and manuals:
Always wear the wrist strap while playing.
Keep a firm grip on the Wii Remote at all times.
Make sure people and objects are out of the range of movement before play begins.
How does that make those of you who have thrown the Remote across the room feel? Stupid? Small? We hope so. The document goes even further, just to cover all forms of ham-fisted calamities:
Players should keep at least three feet from their televisions and should dry their hands if they become moist.
Remember that the Wii Remote is responsive enough to detect minor movements - so excessive and forceful actions are not necessary.
The motions made are similar to real-life sports games, but the force is not.
Dry your hands? If you're one of those who are so sweaty you can't keep a hold on a Remote, and need a towel to dry your sweaty palms, send us pictures so we can laugh.
With pictures of smashed TVs and black eyes making front-page headlines for all the wrong reasons, Nintendo has to be seen to be doing something to fix the problem.
And we want to give Nintendo a helping hand so, to finish off, we'd like to add a few Safe Wii Usage pointers of our own:
Don't be an over-excitable clown.
If you've got clumsy, fat butter fingers try attaching the Remote to your hand with Sellotape.
If you do smash something, don't take pictures of it and send it to newspapers.
Don't hit your gran in the face. It could be fatal. Though if you do, send us pictures so we can laugh.
