These are the first screenshots of THQ's innovative DS adventure that lets you draw your own character and other parts of the game, which it then brings to life for you to play.
You literally play the role of 'The Creator', and it's your task to create and lead a hero on a mission to lift a curse that has filled the land with junk and snow.
As you can see from these screens, the game gives you tools necessary to easily draw a character, which is then automatically animated as you work your way through the seemingly Mario-influenced platform adventure.
You'll also get to draw your own weapons and other objects to be blended into the game world.
The game's due out in September. We wonder long after that it will take for screenshots of people's home-made knob-shaped guns to turn up on forums. It's going to happen.
Screenshots can be seen in the source link above or right here. Leave feedback via comments.

Tired of the broken Tetris® games that The Tetris Company has released lately, with their infinite spin and counterintuitive bonuses for counterintuitive moves? Are you also tired of going to shareware sites, looking at Tetris clone after Tetris clone, and not finding one with the right play balance?
LOCKJAW is a tetromino stacking game that lets you set the rules. It's a free software implementation of the Soviet Mind Game, a highly popular computer puzzle game that involves guiding tetrominoes into a well. (That is, LOCKJAW is to Tetris as GNU is to UNIX.) It includes over 20 options for making variations to the game rules, as well as "gimmicks" for practicing specific skill areas. It is known to run on PC, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS.

psychowood has updated DLDIrc to v0.6, heres whats new:
-Added DSLink driver V4 Beta (works with DSLinux!) and EzSD_alt
(for slow SD cards)
-Corrected a bug which sometimes prevented the correct removal
of the icon association for .nds files
-Added online changelog: when there is an newer version available,
the installer also tells what the main changes are (you'll see from
the next update, of course)
-Added FCSR FS image creation:
Please remember that for this to work correctly, you must create
a folder with the same name (without extension) as your .nds/.ds.gba
file to act as the root of your virtual filesystem. For instance,
if you have 'game.nds' that requires 'wordlist.dat' to be on the
root of your media card, create a folder called 'game' (if you have
'game.ds.gba' the folder name must be 'game.ds') and add 'wordlist.dat'
to it. If this folder does not exist, unpredictable results may occur.

via IGN,
Activision has rocked our world by officially announcing that Guitar Hero III will feature wireless guitars, an online multiplayer mode and original artists recordings when the game is released this Autumn.
Guitar Hero III will be available on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii and will feature an abundance of new modes, including a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, boss battles, unlockable content and authentic rock venues.
More importantly, wannabe rock gods can get their fingers in a twist with the all-new wireless guitar controllers, with the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 getting the Gibson Les Paul and PS2 the proud recipient of a Gibson Kramer. What's more, the guitars will have removable faceplates that allow fans to personalise their guitars, plus they'll include a new button colour design for "an even greater authentic feel and rock experience".
In addition Guitar Hero III will include an expanded online multiplayer in which axe-shredders worldwide can compete in head-to-head battles to prove they're the ultimate rock legend. As for the tracks you'll be rocking along to, Activision has revealed that GHIII features more master recordings than ever before, with the first tracks announced as follows:
Paint It Black - The Rolling Stones
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
The Metal - Tenacious D
My Name is Jonas - Weezer
Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Rock And Roll All Nite - Kiss
School's Out - Alice Cooper
Slow Ride - Fog Hat
Cult of Personality - Living Colour
Barracuda - Heart
Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane, said: "The development team at Neversoft has been exceptional and we've been able to incorporate a host of fresh new online and multiplayer game play modes, along with exciting content into this version of Guitar Hero that our fans have been asking for. Also, many of the top bands and songs we've tried to get in the past are now on board."

via IGN,
The latest ESRB ratings have come in, and, much to our chagrin, only one new Virtual Console title got the rating treatment. In the past, these ESRB updates would come with several newly-rated classic games that were likely to make it to Nintendo's download service, but it seems like Nintendo may have accumulated a backlog of already-rated games.
Below is the one newly-rated Virtual Console title:
ESRB Ratings for 5/22/07
Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos
We have enjoyed the hell out of the VC version of the original game, so needless to say we're anticipating this one. It's always good to see more Tecmo loving on the Wii. Strong sales of VC titles may very well lead to future installments in franchises such as this on the Wii.
We'll keep you updated with the latest in ESRB ratings, so be sure to check IGN Wii frequently for the next batch.

via IGN,
According to hints in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Super Paper Mario is no longer the only way to get your fill of Mario's paper-thin RPG antics on the Wii. That's right, the N64 hit, Paper Mario, may be getting the Virtual Console treatment sometime in the near future.
The official Nintendo mag had a brief preview of the N64 classic in the Wii Channels section of its July issue. The magazine listed the game as its 'top pick' among upcoming Virtual Console games, hinting at its impending release. No specific details were given regarding whether or not we can actually expect this game to come any time soon. We're pretty sure that we will see the title hit Nintendo's service sometime in the near future, as Nintendo is likely to try and ride the wave of accolades and positive press that Super Paper Mario is enjoying right now on the Wii, but nothing is set in stone at this point.
We've always been huge fans of Mario's flattened out adventures, so this comes as pretty great news to us. We'll keep you posted as any firm details surface.

via IGN,
Even though Nintendo had its own titles to focus on at its official press day this week, the company played nice with a few third-party publishers by letting them show off their wares. There were only two non-Nintendo published Nintendo DS games being demoed in Seattle: Jam Session from Ubisoft and THQ's Drawn to Life.
While Ubisoft let players strum away in Jam Session, THQ kept its game hands off, only demoing Drawn to Life as a "look but don't touch" presentation. Since we've already extensively previewed the game in this fashion when the company visited the IGN offices, we'll let you just read our original preview.
We'll update our impressions on the game when the publisher actually lets us play it. Since the game's due out this September, hopefully it'll be soon.

via IGN,
Square Enix has been upping the remake count of late, with, at last count, two billion Final Fantasy remakes appearing on various platforms. So, you might be wondering, if they're willing to remake all the older Final Fantasy games, why aren't they doing the same for the Dragon Quest series?
According to the online version of Japan's Mainichi Shimbun, CEO Yoichi Wada managed to answer that very question (even though it wasn't asked!) at a Square Enix financial briefing in Tokyo today. Asked about release plans for Dragon Quest IX during the Q&A session that followed the briefing, Wada said, "This summer, we'll release Battle Road in arcades and Sword for the Wii. Following that, we're thinking of a release for 9 once we've released remake versions and so forth."
He didn't get into specifics on what entries in the series the company is looking to remake, nor did he refer to a specific system. The last DQ remake, DQV, sold over a million copies on the PS2.
And as for that mysterious "so-forth," it's possible that Wada was referring to off-shoots. Itadaki Street DS could fall into that category, as it features Dragon Quest characters.
Despite strong potential for a remake to turn into a blockbuster, it's doubtful that anything will be able to beat the noise generated by DQIX itself. During the Q&A, someone asked Wada about the planned price for DQIX, noting that some have suggested that the game could end up selling three times as many copies as DQVIII. In response, Wada would not comment on sales targets, nor would he offer a specific price point.
We'll point out that selling three times that of DQVIII would make DQIX Japan's best selling videogame ever with sales of over 11 million units. The DS is certainly popular, but perhaps someone has been spending too much time with the EA wine-tasting game.

via IGN,
It was floating around retailer pre-order lists for ages and even had its own website, but after more than a year of silence, Red Mile Entertainment has finally announced that Jackass: The Game is coming to PS2, PSP and Nintendo DS this fall.
Sidhe Interactive (GripShift) is handling production duties on both Sony platform versions, while Sensory Sweep Studios (Marvel Nemesis, Justice League Heroes) develops the DS edition.
Classified as a "mission-based action/ adventure," Jackass takes its inspiration from the MTV television series and allows players to try out 35 different scenarios with digital incarnations of Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville, and the rest of the cast. However, word on the street is that Bam Margera didn't make the cut.
Awesome in the making? (PSP Shot)
So far, Red Mile has revealed two of the 35 scenarios -- avoiding traffic on the streets of San Francisco while in a garbage can and invading a country club with your golf cart in an effort to destroy every object you can find. "Detailed rag doll modeling, dynamic physics and stunts that are never the same" are among the reported features.
Red Mile has also confirmed that the PSP version of the game will boast multiple extras including unlockable footage from the TV show, a "save replay" feature, and the ability to trade clips wirelessly with other PSP users. There's no word yet on what (if any) system-specific features will be included in the other versions.
The first official screens of Jackass: The Game are available in the gallery below.

Following news that Nintendo of America will release four of its most anticipated titles in 2007, the European wing has been unable to offer any details regarding the games' release dates across Europe.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is scheduled to launch in the US on August 20, with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime also confirming that Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass will find their way to US stores before the year is out.
When asked for European release dates, a Nintendo UK rep said that no dates for these titles have been announced.
Given Nintendo's track record for heavily delayed European release dates, PAL gamers can be justifiably pessimistic about the big four making it to their local store this year.

Today, Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced Rayman Raving Rabbids(TM) 2 exclusively for the Wii(TM) and Nintendo DS(TM) systems. Those mischievous bunnies are back in a hilarious sequel, a party comedy game that is guaranteed to be even crazier and funnier than the first with even more insane games to play. Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 will push the envelope of the Wii gameplay experience by continuing to make innovative use of the Wii Remote(TM). It will deliver fun, intuitive games that feature the wacky humor that Rayman and the Rabbids are known for. In development at Ubisoft's Paris studio, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is scheduled for a fall 2007 release.
"The first Rayman Raving Rabbids was a huge critical and commercial success worldwide,” said Helene Juguet, director of marketing for Ubisoft. "Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is poised to continue that success, as gamers can't seem to get enough of those crazy bunnies; they're just so popular!”
About Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 After invading the world of Rayman, the insane Rabbids have a new objective: THE INVASION OF PLANET EARTH! Setting their home base at a shopping mall, the Rabbids try to study human behavior and mimic everything humans do in funny, illogical ways. As part of their training, the Rabbids must carry out several missions around the globe to prepare themselves for world domination. Rayman will attempt to infiltrate the Rabbids, disguised as one of them, in a mission to foil their crazy plans and save Earth. Game features include:
New wacky games - 60 brand-new games that spoof popular culture and are even wackier than those featured in the first Rayman Raving Rabbids.
Unique use of the Wii Remote – Discover new, innovative ways to play, with eight types of gameplay, including shaking, precision, dexterity and balance.
Travel around the world - Take Rayman on a world tour to defend Earth from the Rabbids invasion. Travel to five different regions such as the USA, Europe and Asia, where players will challenge the Rabbids in the local environments.
Customize Rayman and the Rabbids - Use more than 110 items (skins, hats, accessories and clothes) to dress Rayman and create your own Rabbids. Unleash your creativity with over 540K customization combinations.
Multiplayer experience – Play co-op or battle up to three friends in all the games unlocked in the single-player campaign.
