Updated release of his Warlords Game for the DS by Beatwho
Hi, The new site and game graphics are all thanks to Lobo (someone from the PALib site who emailed me about doing graphics for the game). I think you'll agree he's done an excellent job and there are still many graphics to go in. Code wise its also progressing, the AI is now in, save games etc... I code whenever I get the chance and update the roms randomly (busy with work, blah blah blah) so theres no real version updates. Its also hard to say what will go in next, I basically have a todo list of things and ill just browse through it until i find something i want to work on.
Although the game is mostly playable now some things such as proper battle scenes and hero items arent in yet. Theres no official release yet, the post on PALib was primarily to get some graphics. When the game is more polished there will probably be a more official release.
The site is being run off my home adsl so it'll go slow sometimes, but as its not an official release it pretty much serves its purpose. Hope that answers any questions.

Hot on the heels of this week's announcement of seven more songs for the 1980s-themed Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, Activision has announced the first batch of songs for Guitar Hero III. The full list for the latest rhythm game, first revealed during an earnings call earlier in the year, is below--and contains many tracks by the original artists:
ORIGINAL RECORDINGS:
"Cult of Personality" by Living Colour
"Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones
"Cherub Rock" by Smashing Pumpkins
"Sabotage" by Beastie Boys
"The Metal" by Tenacious D
"My Name Is Jonas" by Weezer
"Knights of Cydonia" by Muse
COVER SONGS:
"Rock And Roll All Nite" as made famous by Kiss
"School's Out" as made famous by Alice Cooper
"Slow Ride" as made famous by Foghat
"Barracuda" as made famous by Heart
The company also confirmed that the game would be getting two new controllers--a Gibson Les Paul guitar model for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii consoles, and a Gibson Kramer guitar for the PlayStation 2. Both controllers will be wireless.
The new game will also get a host of new features, including a "multiplayer action-inspired battle mode," and authentic rock venues. An expanded online multiplayer mode will allow gamers to compete with other guitar heroes worldwide.
RedOctane's head of publishing, Dusty Welch, said that the team had listened to fans' requests for this edition of the game. He commented, "Many of the top bands and songs we've tried to get in the past are now on board, and we've definitely got some giant aces in the hole to say the least."
Guitar Hero III is due for release on the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii this "fall." It will be the first full-fledged entry in the series to be developed by Activision's in-house studio Neversoft--the first two Guitar Hero games were made by Harmonix.

Rayman Raving Rabbids, one of the launch games for Wii, may not have been given the warmest welcome in the press, but it sold pretty well, and here you have it - first screens of the sequel.
The Rabbids failed in their attack on Rayman's world in the previous mini-game outing, so now they're turning their destructive effort towards Earth.
Actual gameplay details are sketchy at the moment, but Ubisoft does reveal that Rayman will need to infiltrate the bunny hive as one of them (presumably disguised), and we expect plenty more mini games to come out of that.
Screenshots can be viewed here.

We now have a few new screenshots from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, a first-person adventure developed by Retro for Nintendo Wii. The main character, Samus, must boot up the generator to restore the defense systems of the Galactic Federation’s Base Sector Zero which is under attack by Space Pirates. Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer. Samus will employ well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials. Besides using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to pull off feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run, players also will have an array of different weapons at their disposal. In true Metroid fashion, these will become powered up as the game progresses. Not only that, but the controller will be used for a number of other game elements beyond the traditional first-person shooter standards.
Check out the new screen shots here.

via Bloomberg.com
Nintendo Co. expects to sell as many as 35 million Wii video-game consoles in the U.S., close to the record 38.2 million PlayStation 2 players sold by Sony Corp.
The company will reach its goal by 2011 or 2012, George Harrison, marketing chief at Nintendo of America Inc., a unit of Kyoto-based Nintendo Co., said in an interview today.
Nintendo is increasing Wii production at factories in China to meet demand, Harrison said from Seattle. The company has sold 2.5 million Wii players in the U.S. since the console was introduced in November, making it the top-seller among the newest generation of machines.
``Demand is much greater than we anticipated,'' Harrison said. ``A year ago no one thought we would be in this position.''
U.S. consumers have purchased 1.3 million PlayStation 3s since it was introduced two days ahead of Wii. Microsoft Corp. has sold 5.4 million Xbox 360s, released in 2005, according to market researcher NPD Group Inc., based in Port Washington, New York.
The older PlayStation 2 remains popular, outselling both the PS3 and Xbox 360 in April. Consumers bought 194,000 PS2s during the month, according to NPD. That compares with 174,000 Xbox 360s and 82,000 PS3s. Wii was No. 1 at 360,000 units.
Demand for the PS2, introduced in 2000, has been bolstered by price cuts and the popularity of games such as Activision Inc.'s ``Guitar Hero.'' The console sells for $149.
Pricing also has helped sell the Wii. At $249, it costs less than half the price of a PlayStation 3 and is about $50 less than the cheapest Xbox 360. Nintendo has no plans to sell Wii for less, Harrison said.
New Games
Nintendo yesterday announced 14 new games for Wii, including the in-house title ``Mario Strikers Charged'' and ``Boogie,'' which allows players to sing and dance to music videos. The new games will be released in the third quarter.
Nintendo will continue to focus on titles that attract people who typically don't play video games. That means there's little reason for the company to upgrade the console with more powerful chips or better graphics, Harrison said.
``We're starting to see in the performance of the PS3 and Xbox 360 that that's not necessarily motivating the market the way it used to,'' he said. ``So we're going to start work on future technology only when we believe it's necessary.''

It was a previous job posting back in November last year that revealed that a Red Steel sequel was on the way, and another vacancy ad seems to suggest that the expected Red Steel 2 will support online functionality.
A new Ubisoft job post on Gamasutra advertises for an online programmer to "develop the online part of a game engine for a Wii project ... located in [Ubisoft's] Production Studio in Paris, where Red Steel and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games have been developed".
With Nintendo flicking the 'on' switch on Wii's online multiplayer servers this Friday to coincide with the online-compatible Mario Strikers Charged Football, we'd fully expect the next Red Steel to pack an online multiplayer mode anyway. It would be a crime not to include one.
We're chasing Ubisoft and will let you know if we get anything juicy.

With over 100 new Pokémon to discover in this epic new adventure, players across Europe can now take on the challenge and search for the new and mighty Legends to save the world! With 3D graphics and making full use of the DS capabilities, including the touch screen, microphone and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl for the Nintendo DS promise to be the most involving, exciting and deep Pokémon adventures to date.
Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl are already being enjoyed by millions of people. In America, independent sales data gathered by the NPD Group showed combined sales exceeded 1.75 million copies in just 14 days of availability, and in Japan over five million copies have been sold since launch in September 2006!
Set in the beautiful region of Sinnoh - a land of myths and stories about the legendary Pokémon - players begin by assuming the role of a ‘Pokémon Trainer’ who sets off from the town of Twinleaf. Players will meet the Pokémon-mad Professor Rowan, who asks them to join him in his mission to document all the species of Pokémon that exist using a special tool – the Pokédex. Players must leave Twinleaf and travel all around Sinnoh to complete this mission, whilst trying to reach their ultimate goal of becoming the Pokémon League champion. This can only be achieved when eight Pokémon Gym Leaders have been defeated. But players need to keep their wits about them, as on their journey they will encounter the shady Pokémon thieves, Team Galactic, and become embroiled in their wrong doings!
True to tradition, collecting and battling Pokémon play a key role in these games and by making full use of the touch screen, the battling system is even easier and quicker to use. What’s more Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl can now be connected to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection allowing you to battle, trade, and voice chat with friends from anywhere in the world!
The immense depth of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl is revealed in several new features including the Pokémon Super Contest and the Underground World. The Super Contests take place in the Pokémon Contest Hall, where trainers can enter their Pokémon in to a competition consisting of three trials: Visual (dressing up), Dance (a rhythm game) and Acting (Pokémon perform battle moves to the judges). Trainers can also enter the Pokémon Super Contest with up to three other players using the DS’s unique wireless functionality. Players can also explore underground tunnels beneath Sinnoh with up to seven other friends, digging up Pokémon fossils, spheres, and other vital items.
Your Pokémon from the GBA adventure series need not miss out on your adventures in Sinnoh! By using the Double Slot feature of the Nintendo DS, you will be able to transfer Pokémon from Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald version games over to Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl, once certain conditions have been met. Also players who have completed the Manaphy Egg mission, in Pokémon Ranger, will be able to transfer the Manaphy Egg to Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl where it will hatch. To discover more about this mysterious and exciting new Pokémon see www.manaphy.eu ; for details.
A special stylus is available for those who pre-order (a Dialga stylus when ordering Pokémon Diamond and a Palkia stylus when ordering Pokémon Pearl ) through any GAME store in the UK. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl launches across Europe on 27th July 2007 for an estimated retail price of around £29.
