r3Ddragon the Virtual Boy Emulator for Nintendo 3DS has just been released, heres the release info:
A WIP Virtual Boy emulator for the 3DS based on Reality Boy / Red Dragon. You can see the current progress here and a video of it working here.
There's an experimental dynarec implemented but it still needs optimizing.
Usage
You can place place ROMs in /vb/.
If it doesn't exist, rd_config.ini will be created. Some relevant options you can change are:
maxcycles: A lower value will improve compatibility, but it will run slower.
frmskip: Number of frames to skip before drawing.
debug: If set to 1, prints debug info.
sound: Enables sound.
dynarec: If set to 0, tries to load the dynarec cache from a file instead of recompiling.
The 3dsx will only work on exploitable system versions (<=11.2) after running fasthax.
Changelog:
Removed libhax. Homebrew launcher users will have to run a kernel exploit (like fasthax) first.
Added settings for frameskip, maxcycles, sound and debug output.
Implemented floating point instructions.
Known Issues:
Low compatibility.
Glitchy graphics on some commercial games.
Frame limiting is broken when frameskip is enabled.
Some menu options aren't implemented.
To change ROMs you have to exit first (touchscreen->File->Exit).

RetroArch the Multi system emulator for Windows/Wii/GC/PS3/XBOX/XBOX360/Android has been updated with a new release
Half a year after RetroArch 1.3.6 was released, now comes the next big stable! Version 1.4.1 is by any yardstick a big massive advance on the previous version. There are about 5000 commits or more to sift through, so let’s focus on a few big main standout features that we want to emphasize for this release.
Where to get it
https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.4.1/
We are calling this release an ‘Open Beta’ because we want people to put the massively improved Netplay features through its paces! All of your feedback and issues will be taken onboard so that 1.5.0 (which we intend to ship somewhere beginning of March) will deliver on all the promises we have made for netplay.

nSide v009r12.15 is released. nSide is a fork of higan v095 by byuu (http://byuu.org/emulation/higan/), which was renamed to exclude "higan" at byuu's request.
Individual emulators are also renamed to the following:
bnes -> nSide-fc
bsnes -> nSide-sfc
bgb -> nSide-gb
bgba -> nSide-gba
nSide adds new devices to the Famicom emulator's controller ports. The supported
devices are:
*Standard controller
*Four Score
*Zapper (port 2 only)
*Power Pad (port 2 only)
In addition, it adds the Famicom expansion port for its own devices. The only
expansion port devices supported are:
*Standard controller (counts as Player 3)
*4-Players Adaptor
*Beam Gun (Zapper)
*Family Trainer (Power Pad)
*VS. Panel (VS. arcade games only; if you try to select this for a Famicom or
PlayChoice-10 game, it instead selects None, though the menu does not properly
recognize that the device change failed)
Please be aware that a great majority of Famicom and NES games support the use
of Player 3 and Player 4 as substitutes for Player 1 and Player 2, including
ones that use the NES Four Score such as A Nightmare on Elm Street. If the
expansion slot is not explicitly set to "None", this can result in Player 3's
controller controlling both Player 1 and Player 3.
The Export Memory functions for the Famicom and Super Famicom emulators now
export a limited selection of PPU registers in BML format and expansion chip
memory (except for the NEC DSPs). The Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators
will also dump their RAMs but not registers.
(This function was removed in higan v094r06. Preserved in nSide for the benefit
of 3rd-party tools that depend on it)
nSide uses different directories for storing configuration settings, save
states, and shaders so as to not conflict with higan.
In Windows, the configuration files are in "%AppData%\nSide-t".

The battle between Nintendo and the Homebrewers enters another round, heres the latest info for those of you hacking your 3DS consoles:
Nintendo just released firmware 11.3.0-36 for 3DS. As usual it blocks some known hacks so wait before upgrading. Related tweets from Smea: '3DS update 11.3 is finally out! based on look at titles i think hax will still work fine after i update it, but wait before updating. wow 11.3 actually adds a new arm11 syscall, crazy. don't think nintendo's ever done that, only stubbed old ones out? looks like hax payload fix for 11.3 will be more involved than usual, so i RECOMMEND homebrew users NOT UPDATE until we can tell what's up. so for what it's worth it looks like nintendo might be targetting the homebrew launcher itself in 11.3 and trying to block it out entirely. i'll run tests tomorrow after work and see what i can come up with. i guess worst case we can just drop a kernel exploit.' Here's a tweet from nedwill: 'Fasthax is dead, long live soundhax!' hinting that SoundHax still works OK. At this point it is mostly speculation until we know more. However, I did get a confirmation from Sky3DS that their flashcard works fine with firmware 11.3.0-36. No news from Gateway 3DS yet."

Something to probably get the backs of Nintendo up, but the Homebrew/Hacking Scene has once again come through with an interesting release:
Nintendo is not going to be very happy about this one, with all the info now out regarding the Wii U console, which first all started with the Brazilian modders figuring out how easy it was to change the 'ticket' system on the Wii U from DISC based to eShop BASED, and then more info leaked out regarding keys, and we started to see CFW installs and more, and then some simple command line tools to mod the 'tickets' to allow games to be installed onto your USB drive with backups ripped from your own Wii U disc drive, but now its even easier to become a full-fledged game pirate on your Nintendo Wii U, thanks to the recent release of the Wii U USB Helper for Windows and soon to be out also for Android devices, you can now thanks to kindness of Nintendo's servers grab all your Wii U games digitally direct from them onto your external USB HDD, and then just plug&play onto your Wii U for tons of FREE entertainment!
Wow now that's very interesting, more here --> http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?na...ticle&sid=3579

Not heard of this Nes Homebrew Game before but heres more details:
MashyMashy is a NES “game” for measuring mash speed. Possibly more of a tool than a game, it allows you to choose a mash button and time limit, then you mash to your hearts content. Afterwards, your total hits and rate of button pushes per second are displayed.
It was written by Mitch3a as a way to learn core NES development concepts (mostly based on nerdy nights tutorials) while writing something useful, especially for the speedrunning community. It was started about a month ago and is considered complete.
