via Computer and Video Games
A bunch of new Tenchu IV screenshots has hit the net, plus a nice looking trailer for the Japanese version of the game due later on this year.
The screenshots are a mix of CGI and in-game footage. The CGI is predictably good (can you honestly mess cut scenes up these days?) and the in-game footage is solid enough.
If that doesn't satisfy your Ninja stealth needs, we recommend having a look at the latest video on YouTube. If anything, it makes us hope that the European disc will come with both a dubbed English audio track and the original Japanese voices with subtitles.
To get a look at the rest of the pictures, take a look on NeoGaf.

News/release from Costello
I just published a new version of my little web browser.
It allows you to surf the Web with your DS from anywhere, provided they have an application that runs on your PC.
The improvements in version 0.4 are the following:
* Support for multi-line text. To add a carriage return, simply write / n with the DS.
* Updating the library DSWifi. Connecting to WiFi access point works much better but apparament rates transfers have not budged.
* The manual configuration is again possible. There were perhaps problems with the automatic mode.
* Graphics improved and some bugs fixed.
As usual a big thank you to Mollusk who helped me on a few problems!
To download? Go see my devblog ...

Newly released in the UK at Amazon UK:
Never the same game twice, this absorbing and addictive, off the wall mini-golf-based puzzler requires players to use their ingenuity to play their way to victory and lucrative rewards, whether strategically, tactically or by being a downright dirty dawg! Players must collect, unlock, buy or hire rewards to enable them to complete a variety of puzzles across five themes, on more than 95 holes to build up their equipment and skills. Not only that but with seemingly endless ways of completing each puzzle, King of Clubs offers enormously long-lasting playability.
Set in a dilapidated theme park in the middle of the Nevada desert (rumours abound that it is built on the site of an old nuclear waste site…but we can ignore that), King of Clubs looks like a cross between an amateur theatrical production and a kitsch vintage Americana playground paradise for jerky-lovin’ trailer trash! Complete with pteranodons on poles, spaceships on string and wobbly waves (plus so much more!), each themed world comes complete with its own quirky resident pro/boss, whom players must beat in order to advance to the next level before ending up in a showdown with the top guy himself, Big Bubba King.

New from Gemesis:
I would like to release a small homebrew app, that I made. Its called: PrankDS. It has 3 pranks that you can pull on other people.
Version 1.0 has:
2 Working pranks:
A sound player that you can add your own .raw files to. To learn how to do this, read on.
The scary maze game that has the image that jumps out at the end. (You may also change both the music and screaming sound on this too)
1 Half Working prank:
An unsolvable maze. Graphics load, but collision map only sort-of works.
It was created in about 3-4 days and shows helped me learn how to do the following better:
FAT
Sounds
Collision Maps
Images
Splash Screens
Here is how to set it up:
1st:
Download the game along with the appropriate dldi patch. (As I said, it uses FAT)
2nd:
Put the folder titled "pdsfiles" (no quotes) into the root of your homebrew device.
3rd:
Patch the game with the dldi and then put it on you device.
4th:
Have fun
Just on the side note: It will work in version 0.7.2 of DeSmuMe AS LONG AS the ds game and the folder "pdsfiles" are in the same place. No dldi patch required.
Finally here are the credits:
Game Made by: GEMISIS
Unsolvable Maze background graphic thanks to: http://familyfun.go.com/printables/s...ntable-pranks/

drei000 updated his release:
WiiLife is an implementation of Conway's Game of Life for Wii. It lets you watch a random population of cells evolve and die. You can zoom in for a better look and scroll around. If you get bored, you can create an new random population.
Due to its early stage, the program may crash once in a while, since I'm not sure that all boundaries are checked
From Wikipedia:
The Game of Life is a cellular automaton devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970. It is the best-known example of a cellular automaton.
The game is actually a zero-player game, meaning that its evolution is determined by its initial state, needing no input from human players. One interacts with the Game of Life by creating an initial configuration and observing how it evolves.
The universe of the Game of Life is an infinite two-dimensional orthogonal grid of square cells, each of which is in one of two possible states, live or dead. Every cell interacts with its eight neighbours, which are the cells that are directly horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent. At each step in time, the following transitions occur:
1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if by loneliness.
2. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
3. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives, unchanged, to the next generation.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours comes to life.
The initial pattern constitutes the 'seed' of the system. The first generation is created by applying the above rules simultaneously to every cell in the seed — births and deaths happen simultaneously, and the discrete moment at which this happens is sometimes called a tick. (In other words, each generation is a pure function of the one before.) The rules continue to be applied repeatedly to create further generations.
2008.07.27
Adjustable Cell density and size of randomly populated area

Heres some awesome news for the Homebrew Scene and shame on Nintendo for not taking Bushings warning seriously
Heres the full details from Marcan who is a member of the Twilight Hack Team:
Note: this is not a backup loader, in any way, shape, or form. If you’re looking for a backup loader, please move along.
While Nintendo did reply to bushing’s open letter, he has not succeeded in establishing a conversation with an engineer about the issue. Furthermore, we have learned that they received and read at least two of the original three e-mails that were sent prior to the open letter, and decided not to reply (in fact, one of their replies was to one of the original e-mails, but only after the open letter was posted). Therefore, we can only conclude that they are not very interested in the issue.
As many of you may already know or have deduced, the bug in our open letter referred to a way of reading DVD-Rs (and Video DVDs) without the use of a modchip. Several people have investigated the bug independently, and they’ve gotten pretty close. However, we did discover an easier way of enabling this mode from homebrew, which, among other things, does not require any changes to IOS at all. This method is also relatively difficult to transform into some sort of backup loader.
Erant has been developing a library that uses this trick to enable DVD access for homebrew. We hope to release it this coming week, after a few details have been polished. svpe and dhewg have been working on a native mplayer port that uses this library to play back DVDs, which we hope to release as a proof-of-concept together with the library. We also have DVD-loading versions of snes9x and Genplus.
Non-modchip users will not need a custom IOS. Ironically, this method doesn’t work for users of some modchips. Therefore, these users will require a patched IOS using the well-known UnencryptedRead patch (the library will automatically use it if needed). We’ll try to release a somewhat more user-friendly version of patchmii dedicated to this task together with the library.
Bring on Homebrew with DVD Loading

One day Wii controller attachment manufacturers are going to run out of plastic, and the world is going to be a better place. But until that day, there's going to be a seemingly never-ending tide of white plastic crap like this "Laser Sword" attachment from French company Subsonic. It's kind of like what Wilson found last year with the Wiimote Light Sword, but adds in a motion sensor so Star Wars poseurs can activate the lights inside with a wrist flick or Star Wars kid ninja move.
