News/release from Triforce:
We have decided to release the first demo of our upcoming game, Take the eggs! Ornithorhynchus Anatinus GO GO GO! DS. For those that don't know, (and thats probably most of you) it's a port of "Motteke Tamago with Ganbare! Kamonohashi" originally by Naxat Soft, released on the Sega Saturn in 1998. This early version includes the in-game tutorial and the first world from the main game. That makes up to 3 stages in total. The cut scenes between worlds have yet to be added, and the "player wins" celebration animation isn't in there yet, but other than that everything should be working.
I've included a sample of the instruction manual I've been working on in the media dir, only 2 pages, Controls and Items. A complete full color manual will come with a later version. We will get a website up in the future as well. You'll know when its online as you will see a banner in the ds-scene network box. Take a look at the readme for much more information on the game.

Thanks to Ds scene for the news i somehow missed.
alekmaul is working on an emulator for the Capcom Arcade game Black Tiger. Right now all you can see are some screenshots but it looks promising. Don't expect sound from it because the chip is a bitch to emulate, but apparently the ROM is running at 60fps so should be fully playable.
Quote
What you need to expect the first version:
- No sound (sorry, the som FM is not easy ...)
- An emulation to 60 fps
- News on the base and full of images ...
Soon for the release ... (in September)
Looks awesome, Alekmaul is onto a winner again, screens here ->

rrc2soft contacted me today to show off a work in progress build of a game hes been working on. A port of the freeware PC game Knytt Stories. It looks really nice, my initial reaction was that it has the same kind of 2d charm that Cave Story has. The music in the video is really creepy as well, love it. I wish rrc2soft the best of luck with this one, cant wait to try it out in the future.
Quote
Hi, Triforce
During this past months, I have been working on a DS version of the freeware platform game Knytt Stories. And since today is the first anniversary of the release of the game for PC, I have posted a video of my latest WIP version for DS in youtube.
Enjoy .

Hello!
Here you have to prove the first puzzle to be added in this project. A few days ago I saw in the video-game hanging in this blog, but now it's time to prove that what podais.
The game also adapts to left-handed people.
The puzzle is ready (for the engine so to speak). The graphics you see are provisional, since the designers 2 (I leave with you at the end of the entry link to their blogs) are making a few "portraits" to this puzzle. The idea is that in each game, randomly showing a different, including 5 or 6 portraits.
And links to blogs of designers:
Ultimate Pencil: http://ultimatepencil.blogspot.com/
A pusca beef: http://unapuscaderes.blogspot.com/
Let them enjoy it.
For the next puzzle, put hand to play in OpenGL 3D. Let's see who comes out. We'll let you know.
Regards to all bloggers,

Calling all Sonic fans, Sega is looking to use your artwork to showcase in Sonic and the Black Knight. Twenty fan art submissions featuring Sonic and only associated characters in the Sonic universe from North America will be used. Winning artists get a sense of achievement and a copy of Sonic and the Black Knight whenever it comes out.
This contest is being run internationally. A similar announcement just popped up in Japan without naming the game. Right now the game is considered an unknown Sonic title for the Wii there. Unless Sega has two Wii Sonic games in development we know what the unnamed game is.

Be honest here, GoLive2's Stix didn't stand a chance at being taken seriously, and even when one reviewer attempted to have fun with the unashamed Wiimote knockoff, he failed epically. The Stix 200 looks strikingly like Nintendo's accelerometer-packin' controller, though this 2D-only rip was seen as "a set of slightly unresponsive, highly inconvenient arrow keys" rather than an exciting new controller. The PC games that can be played with the device are equally dreadful, and while the 3D-capable Stix 400 might be able to make up for some of the 200's shortcomings, we can't wholeheartedly say it's even worth the effort to check out after reading this review.

News/release from goge
Hello everyone! This is my first DS program. It's just something to get me to install PAlib and get started. Still haven't started any real 'game' orientated programming. No sprites yet, or tilebackgrounds or jumping italians. It looks pretty trippy. Here's some more info:
A simple program that allows you to create expanding and reflecting circles by tapping on the ds touch screen. You can change the color of the circles by holding the Left or Right bumpers and tapping on the color box in the color chart cube. The left slider changes the lifetime of the circles and the right slider changes the point at which the color will begin to fade to black.

News/release from Fincs:
Here I present you
MicrophoneEx,
a PAlib add-on for high-quality microphone recording.
It is a simple library intended to replace PAlib's current microphone functions. Currently it is capable of:
Recording high-quality sounds from the microphone
Tell the user the microphone's volume (very much like PAlib)
Writing microphone recordings to WAV files on the flash card
And the only catch its that the RTC won't be readed during recordings, due to technical issues...
Anyway, it is distributed using the same license as PAlib: NO LICENSE AT ALL! So feel free to do anything to my library
Well, here it is, at the bottom of the post.
The installation instructions are included with the download, also a project template and an example are included
(look at the MicrophoneEx folder).
If someone finds a bug, please report it to me.
Also, please note that it only works with PAlib 080823 (latest PAlib version as of 30/08/2008).
Hope you enjoy,
fincs
PD: There should be a forum called "Things designed to work with PAlib"...

Got a pm on the Neoflash forums to tell me that Crocodingus In Cube Island has been updated, heres the features etc:
Crocodingus the crocodile is happily playing video games when he carelessly drops his "Sprite" drink onto his console's outlet. Unfortunately, the drink in the receptacle creates an electromagnetic distorsion, and Crocodingus gets snatched in the vortex and is sent in the pixel world.
The Game :

You must help Crocodingus to finish the game.
Features :
- Innovative gameplay combining puzzle and platform-action.
- Full 3D graphics with 60 fps.
- Three graphic environments (beach, green hill, and lava)
- 10 levels + 1 secret (Can you find it?).
- the revolution of sokoban-like games.

Nintendo wants to give you a quick update on how awesome it's doing. It's now planning on doing wicked awesome this current fiscal year, with an expected 11% increase in sales. That means instead of the 28 million Nintendo DSs and 25 million Wiis it had planned to ship by March 31 of 2009, it will ship... more. More software too! Laughs and chuckles were heard emanating from the company's Kyoto offices today.
Oh, and it'll make more money accordingly. Operating income and net income have both been projected to be much, much higher. What does that really mean?
Net income of somewhere in the ballpark of $3.8 billion (in U.S. bucks) for the year, according to Bloomberg, news that gave Nintendo's stock price a positive kick in the pants. The Bloomberg report does not mention, however, exactly when Nintendo expects to give up its efforts and go third party and put guns on cars like they probably should. You're just prolonging the inevitable, Iwata!

Activision has officially announced Tony Hawk's next outing, this time for the Nintendo DS. Tony Hawk's Motion will be, as you might have guessed from the title, is a motion controlled affair. What you might not have guessed was that snowboarding events would be added to the series starting now.
Pro snowboarder Todd Richards will play second fiddle to Hawk in the handheld game, with the back up sport adding "more than 20 diverse mini-challenges" to the game. We're mini-excited.
Tony Hawk's Motion takes advantage of the Motion Pack, according to the fact sheet distributed today, which casually mentions it as if we know what the hell that is. It does remind us of this ancient rumor, though. And this one. Perhaps current gen console are getting their own taste of Tony Hawk's Motion soon.

As you know, America Chrono Trigger DS is getting on November 25. Japan is not. Japan is getting the game on November 27th! But, those who pre-order the game in Japan will get two-track theme music sound track dubbed "CHRONO TRIGGER ORCHESTRA EXTRA SOUNDTRACKS". The CD was supervised by Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Hey, not bad, not bad at all.

News/release from ollipolli
I have released a new version of DSwiki. Version 0.1alpha2 is the first version that makes the Wikipedia completely accessible on the DS.
Changes and added features:
The index can be searched, so every article can be accessed. Press X for an input form.
The shoulder buttons navigate through the complete history of visited pages.
A cache of 2MB size is saving all recently visited pages, what is quite faster than retrieving and unpacking it from disk every back and forth.
There should be no big memory leaks anymore, browsing can be (nearly) endless.
s are handled correctly.
There is no separate Unifont-version to display more glyphs, but a stable release will have one included.
