Crediar benefits from a new donation to update the loader Gamecube games on Wii from a USB device. This update fixes some bugs (affecting less than 8GB devices) and adds the ability to take screenshots at any time during the execution of a game, press R + Z on the controller connected port 4. As usual, DM is provided in the form of a WAD file that overwrites the original wii mIOS (IOS ensuring backward compatibility Gamecube).

Though no concrete plans have been outlined, Ubisoft's intention to joinNintendo's push towards more digitally available retail games on its new flagship console is now evident: "As soon as it's possible, we will do it," Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot told Polygon, speaking on whether his company had plans to sell full retail games as downloadable jams through Nintendo's eShop.
No further information regarding pricing and availability was given, so whether this expansion into the eShop happens at launch, or later down the road, remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that Ubisoft's games on the Wii U (regardless of purchase methodology) will eventually include UPlay integration, as its current-gen releases do. "Nintendo has been very open to us and allowed us to use our systems to communicate with our customers," Guillemot said. UPlay integration is expected sometime after launch.

The Paper Mario series has always been a treat, exemplifying some of the funniest writing in any game, numerous tweaks to RPG mechanics, and a skewed worldview that makes me appreciate the Mario universe in a different way.
However, when they stray from their RPG strengths, Paper Mario games lose some of the appeal. For example, Super Paper Mario maintained the copious (copious) dialogue of its forebears, but put aside turn-based battles for awkward platforming.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star isn't as dramatic a departure as Super Paper Mario. It's still a turn-based game, and in fact has some of the most interesting battle mechanics in the genre. It's still delightfully funny and precious. But it's been compromised by the awkward addition of unwelcome elements from adventure games.

Ubisoft's UPlay service looks set to arrive on Wii U soon after launch.
Although it won't quite be ready for launch day on November 18 in US (November 30 in UK), Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot has toldPolygon that it should be ready soon after."We hope to have a good connection with their systems because Nintendo has been very open to us and allowed us to use our systems to communicate with our customers," he said.
Ubisoft is a key third party for Wii U right from launch, with two major titles lined up for day one - Assassin's Creed 3 and ZombiU.
Guillemot also said the firm was keen to support the sale of full retail titles and digital downloads.
"It's a good system," he said. "As soon as it's possible, we will do it."

Want to buy a Wii U on November 18 in a celebratory setting, surrounded by other Nintendo fans and even Nintendo staff? Want lifelong nightmares? The Wii U and celebrations are courtesy of Nintendo World's launch event in New York City, starting at 6PM on November 17.
The nightmares are courtesy of "Mii costumed characters" stalking the event.
Fans waiting in line will get exclusive bonus items, and Nintendo will sell New York-themed Mario shirts to benefit the Red Cross. Also, you may actually have a chance to buy a Wii U, which seems like a rare event on launch day.

The thing that finally convinced me that a touchscreen controller is a good idea for a console is not the off-screen play in New Super Mario Bros. U or the variety of weird and clever control schemes in Nintendo Land, though both are nice.
It's the TV remote.
The Wii U GamePad features built-in universal remote functionality, allowing players to use the touchscreen to turn their TVs on and off, change channels, switch between various inputs, and control volume. It works with cable boxes as well. A "TV" button on the GamePad brings up the TV controls at any time.
Okay, maybe that doesn't seem like a big deal. But it's an improvement in basic usability that accomplishes what every game company wants to do with a system: remove every possible barrier to its use, no matter how insignificant. If I want to play Nintendo Land, the only thing I have to pick up is the WiiPad: I can turn the TV on, switch over to the right HDMI input, turn the system on, and play the game with a single device.
People may not even realize how accustomed they become to this kind of convenience, until they go back to something that doesn't offer it. In the next console generation, we'll look at a controller that can't turn on a TV like we look at a controller that doesn't have a console power button now. I don't think it's a feature that will sell Wii U systems, necessarily, but even this tiny tweak is going to change how console controllers function from now on.

The first thing we noticed about Nintendo's next console when we last got our hands on it was the length -- the Wii U is Nintendo's longest console yet. Sure, sure, there's a tablet controller and HD graphics and yadda yadda yadda. That's immaterial. What matters here, folks, is how the new hardware -- the console itself -- physically stacks up against the first Wii. As you'll see in our gallery, length is the least of the Wii U's changes: in the Wii U, Nintendo added two more USB 2.0 ports up front and rounded out its hard right angles, for starters. Around back, the port layout of the Wii is nigh-on identical with that of the Wii U, albeit with the fan moved an inch (or so) to the right, making space for HDMI output. This is an HD console, after all. Wonderfully, unlike the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Wii U includes an HDMI cable right out of the box. Not a huge deal, but it sure was a baffling move when Sony and Microsoft both skimped on such an important detail.
The only other change we spotted (outside of the power port being flipped from horizontal to vertical) is the lack of GameCube controller ports up top. Say sayonara to those old Wavebirds, as Nintendo's moving on to its new tablet controller and its updated Pro Controller. Take some super close-up looks at all the minute differences with us below.

Scott Moffitt admits tablet gaming is growing, but Nintendo is still doing well
In a talk at the BMO 2012 Digital Media Conference (attended by Polygon), Nintendo executive vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt called the rise of tablet/smartphone gaming “undeniable”.
"It's undeniable the growth of tablets and their ability to play games,” said Moffitt.
Moffitt called tablets and smartphones Nintendo's “allies”, as they help users easily access Nintendo websites and product information. Despite the admission, Moffitt explained that the Wii U - with its tablet-style GamePad - is still looking like a solid contender according to Nintendo's internal data.
"At the same time when we look at our data," he said. "The DS didn't have competition from tablets and smartphones, and yet we are outpacing the rate of sale for the DS. These are seemingly conflicting data points. Obviously we see a rise in new competitive products, but we are seeing better results in a tougher environment."
GamesIndustry International spoke with Scott Moffitt on the phone this week as well, so please stay tuned for that interview.
