Fceux SVN r2998 is compiled. FCEUX is a cross platform, NTSC and PAL Famicom/NES emulator that is an evolution of the original FCE Ultra emulator. Over time FCE Ultra had separated into many separate branches. The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU. As the X implies, it is an all-encompassing FCEU emulator that gives the best of all worlds for the general player, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.
Fceux SVN changelog:

Nintendo GameBoy Advance/GameBoy/GameBoy Color emulator for Windows based on VBA source code has been updated recently. Changes:
Core and code improvements
Improvements to ARM/Thumb ASM (and C_CORE if the given preprocessor is set) that have improved various hardware behavior.
Improvements to Memory access resolving issues with the wrong bytes being returned and fixes to a DMA Fetch that was not behaving properly.
Games fixed
GBA
Croket 2 - would freeze when walking to the left of the snowman
Jurassic Park Builder/Creator - text would be scrambled
Lufia - scrambled text on main menu after cancelling the load screen
Moto GP - register not implemented
Phantasy Star Collection - text regression introduced and subsequently fixed
V-rally 3 - graphics regression introduced and subsequently fixed
GBC
Duke Nukem - Hud and menu now work. GBC video emulation needs more work however, the hack used is not correct and might cause issues elsewhere.
Not a bug
GBA
Digimon Racing EU - freezes during intro's
Resolution: Enable Linking, this game checks the serial bus to see if link cable and gba's are connected at start and will not progress if the interface reports a invalid/nulled value.
GBC
Links Awakening - Sprite issues when sword beaming and when moving around with chomp
Resolution: Accurate Emulation. This occurs on real hardware and is because the Line/Sprite limit is reached. Other emulators use a hack to show all sprites - we may investigate such a hack in the future but for now this is not a real issue.

Nebuleon has released a new version TempGBA, the Gameboy Advance emulator for DStwo. Version 1.45 brings improvements and fixes from the reGBA project, including the option to use Normmatt's open-source replacement for the GBA BIOS. See the change log for a list of what's new, and for more details be sure to join the discussion linked below.
Change Log (09/14/13) said:
•
•
This version is a product of the ReGBA project, which separates cross-platform code from the DSTwo-specific code. • Includes an open-source replacement for the GBA BIOS made from VBA-M's BIOS emulation code. Thanks to Normmatt for this! You can still use the Nintendo BIOS if you have it in the /TEMPGBA folder of your storage card, but if you extract all of the files in this release, you will replace it with Normmatt's BIOS.
•Works around a desynchronisation between the Direct Sound music channels and the PSG (Game Boy beeper) channels. If you load a saved state made in TempGBA betas 12-15 or versions 1.40-1.44, and the desynchronisation was below 186 milliseconds, it will be retroactively fixed. If it was already above 186 milliseconds, then the desynchronisation will fix itself after about an hour of play.
•Fixes a bug whereby uncompressed ROMs in zip files would not load if they were larger than 8 MiB.
•All high-level BIOS emulation is disabled except SWI 06h, Div, and 07h, DivARM.
•The plugin is now 290 KiB smaller, out of a previous 2237 KiB.
Under the hood: •Assembler optimisations. Move some load-memory instructions so that they occur at least 4 cycles before the first instruction that will use the loaded value.
•Recompiler block scanning optimisations.

As an bonus for die-hard Suikoden fans, and to celebrate the release of Suikogaiden Vol. 2, Suikoden Card Stories has been fully translated into English as well.
Suikoden Card Stories is a CCG-style RPG for the Game Boy Advance. Players assemble a deck of Suikoden II characters and duel their opponents on missions and locations related to the Suikoden II plot. The storyline is an abridged version of Suikoden II’s with a few small additions and differences.
This is a side project by one of the non-translators on the Suikogaiden team; players shouldn’t expect the same level of quality and polish. But this is a fun experience for Suikoden fanatics who can live with card game mechanics, and a fairly novel if limited RPG in its own right.
Don’t forget to check out Suikogaiden Vol. 1 & II!
Very observant fans may remember seeing this translation patch before. This is a fully repaired version of that translation, with many bug fixes, some script improvements, all segments accessible, and the restoration of some dummied content.

Following the NPD Group's analysis of August's overall sales data comes a handful of extra statistics from Nintendo. When taking both physical and digital sales into account, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team has sold "nearly" 190,000 units since its release on August 11. Meanwhile, Pikmin 3 has sold "more than" 115,000 since August 4, while New Super Luigi U has sold "nearly" 120,000 units since refreshing the Year of Luigi on August 25.
Nintendo also updated on its year to date: More than 6.47 million pieces of 3DS software have been sold in 2013, with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon being the best-selling of the lot at 863,000 physical/digital copies. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a close second, however, having moved 739,000 units in three fewer months on the market.

Here’s a cool hack for those of you wishing to play some retro multiplayer SNES games online!
[Michael Fitzmayer] is a resident hacker at shackspace; der hackerspace in Stuttgart. He’s come up with this clever little ethernet adapter network-bridge that can share local controller-inputs over the internet. The entire project is open-source, and readily available on github. It’s still in the early stage of development, but it is already fully functional. The firmware is small and will fit on an ATmega8, and by the looks of the component list it’s a fairly easy build.
He’s even integrated a switch mode (hold B and Y during boot), which avoids trying to figure out which controller will be player one! After all, don’t you remember untangling the controller cords, trying to figure out which one is which?
We know you had a favorite controller and would give the other “crappy” one to your guest.

Nintendo is to discontinue two of the earliest available colours of the original 3DS in Japan 'soon'.
Announced via Nintendo of Japan, via Siliconera translations, the firm will soon cut off production of the 'Cosmo Black' and 'Ice White' versions of the portable, which were among the first colours available in the region.
As the report notes, their removal from sale will also mark the last of the 3DS units sold with 2GB SD cards, with all remaining versions - Metallic Red, Light Blue and Gloss Pink - containing the 4GB cards.
Nintendo recently announced the Nintendo 2DS, a new "more affordable" Nintendo 3DS model set for release in October.
The redesigned handheld - made to cater to younger gamers - will play the entire library of cartridge and digital 3DS and DS titles, but "only in 2D".

Star Wars Pinball 3D will be released for the 3DS eShop on September 19.
Star Wars Pinball 3D will launch with three tables: Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Clone Wars.
PrevNext1 of 3
The studio says the game has been "completely redesigned for Nintendo 3DS", but leaves out specifics, so it's unclear which features of the full console game will be retained. The lower screen looks to be used as a pinball-style LED light panel.
The game will cost $6.99 in North America and €6.99 in Europe. Above is a gallery of the first screenshots.
Zen Studios released Star Wars Pinball for the Wii U eShop on July 11. Aside from some traditional pinball play, Star Wars Pinball features an online meta game which tracks 'the balance of the Force'.
As the PR explains, "Players will choose to support the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance with high scores as the Star Wars Pinball community fights for the Balance of the Force! The main game user interface will change dynamically, based on how the community chooses to support each side."

Two iconic puzzle games are to be cross-pollinated in an all-new project underway in Japan, according to reports.
Japan games publication Famitsu claims that Sega has secured a deal with The Tetris Company to merge both Puyo Puyo and Tetris into a single game. According to a Siliconera translation, the project is in development for PS3, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Its expected release date is 2014, according to the report.
Super Puyo PuyoPuyo Puyo, a Japan-built puzzle series that began in 1991, gained a sizable following in its native country that eventually spilled into the west. Sega rebranded the title Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for the Mega Drive in Europe, while Nintendo reskinned it as Kirby's Ghost Trap for the Super Nintendo.
The match-four puzzle game distinguished itself by allowing Puyos to be connected vertically and diagonally, or any arrangement of four pieces as long as they are attached.
Tetris, which stands today as one of the most recognisable video games in the world, has in recent years spread onto various social networks, websites and mobile devices. In January 2010, rights holder The Tetris Company announced that the game has sold more than 100 million copies on smartphones worldwide.
According to Famitsu, the puzzler mash-up mixes both Tetris and Puyo Puyo's systems. Both a singleplayer mode and multiplayer battle-mode will merge both elements of clearing horizontal lines and stacking vertical Puyos for chain reactions.
It was not stated which companies are publishing or developing the title.

[Bradley W. Lewis] is no stranger to Nixie clock builds, and he felt his latest commission was missing something. Instead of merely mounting the Nixie clock into a case resembling an NES console, he goes full tilt and makes it into an NES console emulator. After some work on the milling machine, a wooden box has room to squeeze in a few new components. [Bradley] originally planned to mount only an Arduino with an ArduNIX shield to handle the Nixie clock, but the emulator demands some space saving. Flipping the Arduino on its side freed up plenty of room and the shield still easily connects to the adjacent Nixie tube board.
A Raspberry Pi serves as the console emulator and was mounted close to the side of the case to allow access to its HDMI port. The other ports from both the Arduino and RasPi stick out of the back, including an extension to the Pi’s RCA video out and buttons to set both the hour and minutes of the clock. The two surplus NES buttons on the front of the case control power to the RasPi and provide a reset function for the Nixie clock.
If that isn’t enough Nixie to satisfy you, check out the WiFi Nixie counter.

If the numbers coming from Nintendo are to be believed, indie development interest in Wii U is at astronomic levels.
Nintendo’s manager of business development Dan Adelman reckons that the platform holder’s recently launched Wii U development website is attracting some serious interest.
“It's been overwhelming. We've gotten probably over 1,000, I don't know if we've hit 2,000, developers with really wide-ranging levels of experience,” he told GameSpot.
“We've got some who have recently left their jobs in mainstream publishers and are starting a new company, or have been indies for a while. All the way to high school students who are thinking of getting into game development and want to know more about it.
“So one of the challenges is going through and it's ultimately a resource allocation issue at that point. We want to support everybody, so how do we do that in the most effective manner and how do we prioritize in just making sure that--our intent is to support everyone, really. The underlying philosophy is that if you can make a game on our systems, we want to find a way for you to be able to do that.”
Nintendo’s efforts to court the indie community go far beyond simply a new website, Adelman adds, claiming that the company is still working on correctly communicating the extent of its commitment.
“Developers seem to be overwhelmingly positive. Some of the major changes that we've made actually still haven't been well communicated yet,” he added. “We've put the message out there and I think we have to keep hammering home the message because we need to make sure that people hear about it. We used to have a lot of barriers on the way to releasing games on our platforms.
“One example would be, we used to require that developers work out of an office that's separate from their home, and that was a big barrier for a lot of indie developers. And we got rid of that. And still, I talk to developers today who will say, ‘Yeah, I'd love to make a game for a Nintendo platform, but I work at home.’ So I have to say ‘Actually, about six months ago, maybe it was nine months ago, we announced that we changed that policy.’”
