A GameCube Memory Card manager.GameCube/Wii Memory Manager is an application to backup Nintendo GameCube savegames.
Gcmm is a project started by dsbomb and justb, which is based on Askot's modification to add SD support to the mcbackup libogc example.
I (suloku) have updated the code to newest libraries to port it to the Wii system, and what I find more important: restoring savegames now works properly.
[What's New 1.4b - september 03, 2013 - By suloku]
- Card initialization was wrong all the way, wich lead to savegames of the same game of different region or those that shared similar filenames (Twilight Princess and WindWaker) to not work properly. Thanks to antidote.crk for noticing. (read considerations sections for more info)
- Added version display

Joystiq has received numerous reports that Nintendo's 3DS StreetPass relay points aren't functioning. The relay points are physical Nintendo Zone locations across the globe that temporarily store user data from passers-by like Miis and select profiles from games, then transfer that data to players that walk by in the future.
StreetPass relay points were introduced in a 3DS firmware update in August as a means of providing players with more chances to swap data for use in apps like the four new Mii Plaza games, which made $4 million in one month. Nintendo's support page notes that players must have firmware 6.2.0- 0U or higher on their systems in order to use the service, though some users claimed the latest 3DS firmware hasn't alleviated their woes. Others noted that some locations, such as McDonald's, only relayed data after logging in to free wi-fi services using the 3DS web browser.
We've reached out to Nintendo for more information, and will update as we learn more.

Shantae is passing up on the power of interpretive dance in favor of pirate gear in this trailer for the 3DS eShop exclusive, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.Swords, giant hats and pistols will expand Shantae's arsenal beyond her surprisingly lethal ponytail.
Pirate's Curse will follow Shantae's efforts to retrieve the genie powers that were stolen from her. According to the game's reveal in the last issue of Nintendo Power, 30 Tinkerbats are behind the theft, and Shantae must team up with the pirate Risky Boots to retrieve the stolen goods. Pirate gear will help Shantae access new areas, such as the Bone Daggers that can be used on walls to create small platforms.
It's worth noting that Pirate's Curse is not the same game as Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, which WayForward recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for. While Pirate's Curse will be a 3DS eShop exclusive, Half-Genie Hero will reach the Wii U, PS3, PS4, 360, Xbox One and Steam if it reaches its funding goal of $400,000.
Update: This article initially stated that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero's Kickstarter campaign was targeting $40,000. The financial goal has been corrected.

Atari Founder Nolan Bushnell fears that Nintendo could be on a "path to irrelevance".
Bushnell had yet more harsh words for Nintendo during a recent interview with BBC, in which he questioned the future of dedicated gaming portables and the console market as a whole.
"I don't think handheld game-only devices make sense anymore," said Bushnell. "Not when you have an iPod or an Android microtablet," he added.
"When it comes to the console market, I think the market is truncating," Bushnell went on. "Nintendo always had a soft spot for young people - they sort of did the 12-and-under pretty well, and the other guys did the 12-and-over.
"And now I think the other [consoles] are good enough on those things, and the rush to upgrade from the 12-and-under is not nearly as important."
Bushnell has candidly expressed his reservations over Nintendo's latest home console in the past, admitting he's "baffled by Wii U".
"I don't think it's going to be a big success," he said.
The games veteran also recently suggested that the mobile games ecosystem is now on borrowed time, citing the end of an investment boom for the now overcrowded mobile platforms.
"The last five years have been the days of mobile gaming and shortform gaming, exemplified by Rovio with Angry Birds and Zynga with FarmVille. And that is over," commented Bushnell. "All the money's out," he said.

With the official launch of Rayman Legends, Ubisoft has removed the free Rayman Challenges title from the Wii U eShop.
Originally intended to hold players over until the delayed release of Rayman Legends, the game's free 'Challenges' component is now offline.
A Wii U exclusive upon announcement, Rayman Legends was delayed from its original March release when Ubisoft announced the title would release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita. Challenges was designed to appease disappointed Wii U owners.
Rayman Legends released last week to widespread critical acclaim, with CVG writing that it "delivers essential platforming shenanigans".
Since its release, official ChartTrack figures have suggested the Wii U version has outsold versions on all other platforms, accounting for 45 per cent of total sales for the title.
Ubisoft confirmed earlier this week that levels missing from the PS Vita edition will be patched in at a later date.

Nintendo has slashed the prices of "three of the best-selling and best-reviewed" Wii games in North America.
In a similar fashion to its 'Nintendo Selects' line, the platform holder has introduced a reduced $29.99 price tag on new copies of Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports Resort in US, starting today, September 6.
"The new price represents one of the many steps Nintendo is taking to provide shoppers with the best value and variety across all its systems through the end of 2013," said Nintendo.
"Super Mario Galaxy 2 is tied with Super Mario Galaxy as one of the best-reviewed games of all time, with a Metacritic score of 97. To date the game has sold more than 2.7 million in the United States alone," it notes.
All Wii games can be played on the newer Wii U console by way of the Wii app on Wii U Home menu.
Nintendo of America has confirmed it will introduce a $50 Wii U price cut on September 20, while the firm will reportedly cut the UK trade price of Wii U by around £30 from October 4.

Forget PlayStation and Xbox. It’s Nintendo that is spending more money than anyone to win over a new generation of gamers.
The platform holder told MCV that it will spend big on advertising 2DS to parents and kids this Christmas.
2DS was unveiled last week. It plays 3DS titles in 2D and will launch on October 12th at a lower price. The firm hopes it can cash in on the lucrative kids market as its rivals focus on older games and wealthy families.
Nintendo has been 2013’s biggest TV?advertiser, with Animal Crossing receiving more ads than any other video game this year, says ad firm Generation Media.
As a result 3DS has outsold all other consoles over the last three months.
“We saw an opportunity for an entry level gaming device,” said Nintendo UK marketing director Shelly Pearce. “2DS will have its own TV campaign and it will feature in our Pokémon advertising.
“The Pokémon X and Y campaign is on the same level as our Animal Crossing campaign. It’s going to be huge, and starts on TV later this month.
“We have more Animal Crossing activity, too. There will be a lot of handheld noise this peak season.”

With Bayonetta 2 currently in development for Wii U, developer Platinum Games has expressed interest creating in a 3DS instalment for the series.
“Given the chance, I’d like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta,” Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry veteran Hideki Kamiya told Siliconera.
“Something that’s not as big in scale. Something that’s portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where she’s a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that.
“If I could get away with it, I’d also like to come up with a spin-off of Okami, less focused on the grand idea of saving the world, but [rather] something focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun.”
Platinum’s Bayonetta 2 is due out on Wii U next year. The Wonderful 101 – yet another Platinum Nintendo title – was released on Wii U last month. The Japanese studio has previously expressed its enthusiasm for its new partnership with Nintendo.

Perhaps it’s finally time to raise a glass to stereoscopic 3D. Once a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOikorXWPKw"]proud part of E3 press conferencesand the Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars felt like I was directing model soldiers in an intricate diorama. I loved it inFire Emblem: Awakening and Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. Most recently it’s looked great in Steamworld Dig. It’s really nice in Super Mario 3D Land, too, but there’s a pattern to those other games I listed. They’re all 2D, and most of them are really static.Ghost Recon and Fire Emblem are just gridded maps, and Etrian Odyssey IV’s 3D dungeons and enemy battles aren’t even rendered with any depth. Instead it’s used to lend the rest of its visual design a subtle opulence, and even make it more legible. Layering a menu over another gives it prominence that guides your attention, placing HUD elements on a single plane unifies and makes them distinct from the game itself, and having Fire Emblem’s units stand proud of the map makes it easier to strategise.

Hideki Kamiya directed both Bayonetta and Okami and given the opportunity, he'd like to bring both series to the Nintendo 3DS, though perhaps not quite the way you'd expect.
"Given the chance, I'd like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta," Kamiya told Siliconera at PAX. "Something that's not as big in scale. Something that's portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where she's a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that."
Kamiya added, "If I could get away with it, I'd also like to come up with a spin-off of Okami, less focused on the grand idea of saving the world, but something focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun."
The director's latest game, The Wonderful 101, was recently released in Japan, Europe and Australia. It is slated to make its North American debut on September 15.

A key executive at Activision has pledged to continue supporting Nintendo's challenged Wii U console, stating that "if we can add to the appeal of the platform then we absolutely will".
Eric Hirshberg, the chief executive of Activision's publishing arm, said it is important that the industry supports itself and that the best games are shown to as many people as possible.
Sales of the Wii U have flat-lined since its relatively successful launch in NovemberIn a newly published interview with CVG, he said: "I want all of the great games in this industry to succeed because more people will be playing games and that's better for all of us.
"Nintendo has been a great partner for us. It's had hardware hits and misses in the past, but it has always found ways to remain completely relevant. It has some of the best game-makers in the world, and I wouldn't count them out."
In July, Activision revealed it will publish six games on the Wii U, including Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Though Hirshberg conceded that the Wii U's performance is below par, he made it clear he wants to help the system sell.
"Nintendo is a very successful company but obviously having a rough go with the Wii U launch thus far. I'm sure Nintendo and the rest of the industry wanted a different result for the Wii U, but if we can add to the appeal of the platform then we absolutely will."
His comments come as an executive at another publisher, Bethesda, claims Nintendo has no more opportunity to convince publishers to support the system.
"The time for convincing publishers and developers to support Wii U has long passed," Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines said in aGameTrailers panel talk.
Support for Nintendo from publishing and retail firms has been uncertain for several months.
EA, which is not believed to be working on any Wii U games currently, says it's "monitoring" sales of the system, while Ubisoft has reaffirmed its support for the platform.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams will complete the console circuit with its debut on Wii U on September 5 in the Americas. The game is priced at $14.99 and, according to developer Black Forest Games, will be released in the US, Brazil and Mexico Nintendo eShoppes.
"Our sales on Wii U eShop in Europe are even better than those on PSN Europe. Now we are very curious to see how much the US Nintendo-fans like our game," said Adrian Goersch, managing director at Black Forest.
The Wii U version of Giana fully supports the game through the WiiPad, along with a super easy mode for casual palyers (hardcore and überhardcore are still supported).
