Nintendo fans in Japan have just been offered the motherload of Wii U bundles: two packages that include as many as three games, an extra controller and a subscription to a karaoke service. Both bundles come with either a white or black 32GB console, a matching Wii Remote Plus, 30 days of Nintendo x Joysound Wii Karaoke U service and digital copies of New Super Mario Bros U and Wii Party U. The lower-end package snags all of the above for a cool 32,800 yen (about $332), but an extra 2,000 yen (roughly $20) adds a copy of Wii Fit U and a Fit Meter -- although it looks like the requisite balance board will be sold separately. Considering that a standard Wii U Deluxe system now sells for $300, these bundles seem like solid deals. There's no word if a similar compilation is being prepared for international markets, but at least we have the limited-edition Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD bundle to comfort us.

Nintendo says its HD update of GameCube classic The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker will help shift Wii U consoles.
Nintendo’s home platform has struggled for momentum, with some retailers pulling support for the machine.
But the firm is launching a number of its big brands on the console to help the ailing console.
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD will be part of a special console bundle, and Nintendo hopes it can reach gamers that have never played Wind Waker.
“It is the perfect time for Zelda fans to discover Wii U,” said Roger Langford, product manager at Nintendo. “For many Zelda fans, this is the first time that they’ll discover Wind Waker and we’re treating the game as a triple-A new release.”
Nintendo hopes the remake of Wind Waker can match the success of 3DS’ update of Ocarina of Time.
Langford added: “Ocarina of Time 3D performed positively on Nintendo 3DS and we’re looking to replicate this success with The Wind Waker HD.”

Countless tributes have been paid to former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi since his passing last week, and now one of the company's most beloved composers has contributed in his own unique way.
Hirokazu Tanaka, best known among Nintendo fans as 'Hip' Tanaka, composed the music for a number of classic Nintendo games in the 1980s.
Tanaka's work included the theme music for Metroid, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Land, Tetris, Dr Mario, Balloon Fight and EarthBound.
Now, in memory of his old boss, Tanaka has released remixed versions of two of his most well-known works. First is the ending theme from Super Mario Land:

Updated kits and squad rosters are the only addition to the 3DS version of FIFA 14.
EA has confirmed that "FIFA 14 Legacy Edition delivers unmatched authenticity that reflects the current football season with updated kits and rosters but no updates to gameplay or game modes".
It was revealed last month that the Vita version of the game is also technically identical to last year’s release – which itself was a re-skin of Vita launch title FIFA Soccer.
It has also been confirmed that both the Wii and PS2 releases of FIFA 14 are identical – strips and squads aside – to previous iterations.
None of this is reflected in the RRPs, however, which CVG reports are as follows: Vita - £39.99, 3DS – £34.99, Wii – £32.99 and PS2 – £19.99.
This means that the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and smartphone versions of the game are the only ones to welcome the host of gameplay changes described by EA over the last few months.
The Xbox One and PS4 versions will also be different, having been built on the new Ignite engine.
FIFA 14 is released on a multitude of formats this Friday (Friday 27th September).

Auryn announced the first public release of the project to translate "Gyakuten Kenji 2", though you would probably know it more by the name "Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth: Prosecutor's Path". Here the first two cases and all relevant menus have been translated.
For those completely unfamiliar with the franchise.. well shame on you first of all but we are always ones for having people rectify their mistakes. Back on the GBA there was a little series called Gyakuten Saiban, it never made it out of Japan but when the DS finally rolled up it got a remake and was released in the US and Europe under the name Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney where it became a near instant classic thanks to memorable gameplay, a stellar translation and an endlessly catchy score. The series largely went from strength to strength and eventually branched out with the investigations series (Gyakuten Kenji), a series that instead looked at things from the prosecutor's point of view and starred fan favourite character Miles Edgeworth. Surprising quite a few Capcom declined to bring the second in the investigations series for the DS outside Japan, whether this was due to the 3ds' arrival or some other problem we are unsure of to this day. However this sort of thing is one of the reasons we have ROM hacking and why we are here today.
Partial Release notes said: 1) What is this?
This is the first public release for the patch of the game "Gyakuten Kenji 2" or "Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth: Prosecutor's Path" (yes, we dropped the 2 because earlier entries in the series never had a number in the title in English).
The Zip contains this readme file, the patch and the complete Artcover (front and back) that GyakutenGodot and Mrichston made.
2) What it does??
The patch translates all the common screens of the game (title screen, case selection screen, save screen, profile/evidence screen), all the text, all the graphics (yes, including backgrounds, sprites and even evidence) and all the voices (recycled the old voices when possible or dubbed by voice actors for the new characters) in English ONLY for case 1 and 2.
In other words, we... View full quote1) What is this?

The only japanese left in the game is the song at the beginning of case 3 (not included in this patch yet).
As bonus, it will remove the anti piracy protection so that you will not see only Borginian when you start the game.

Need to get your living space ready before downloading Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD? Removable wall graphic company Blik is currently offeringWind Waker-themed wall decals for $37 apiece, each designed to look like a stained glass window.
The company has six designs available, featuring Link with the Wind Waker, Link with his sword, Link with the Hero's Bow, Link with a grappling hook, Link and the Helmaroc King, and Link with a Zelda profile background. Unfortunately, these renditions of Link can't come alive and go on adventures; you'll have to wait for A Link Between Worlds for that.

'Nintendo will carry on his spirit,' says company president
Satoru Iwata has responded publicly to the death of former president Hiroshi Yamauchi, and praised the values he bestowed upon the company.
Yamauchi passed away yesterday at the age of 85. He had led Nintendo for over 50 years as president from 1949 to 2002, transforming the firm from a card company into a pioneer in the game console space.
Yamauchi oversaw the launch of a number of Nintendo’s consoles such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube, as well as a number of key franchises that have gone on to become a part of popular culture.
Iwata, who took over the company’s presidency in 2002, said Nintendo would continue to adapt to industry changes, and pledged to carry on Yamauchi’s spirit within the company.
"We will continue to treasure the values Yamauchi taught us - that what makes you unique lies at the core of entertainment,” said Iwata.
“And we at Nintendo will continue to change the company flexibly to adapt to the times, as Yamauchi did, to carry on his spirit."

After a brief farewell to your hometown you step out into the long grass, empty Pokédex in hand and an untested new Pokémon strapped to your belt. There are baddies to defeat, eight gyms to beat and lots of low-level bug Pokémon in the game's first forest area. It's fair to say that the now-familiar Pokémon formula is left largely unchanged in X and Y. Two dozen core games later and with Nintendo's palette of colours finally exhausted, this latest dual release presents a familiar scenario. True, there are a few gameplay and story tweaks (the introduction of Mega Evolution being the most notable example), but by far the biggest change is the game's vastly upgraded visual style. The handheld Pokémon series has been edging towards a 3D world for some time, with increasingly dynamic environments in the past few entries. X and Y boast a fresh, fully 3D look that's a blend of Pokémon's classic top-down view with a few cues taken from its long-running TV spin-off. The games retain a top-down perspective for the majority of overworld action, albeit with a slightly zoomed-in camera. It highlights some of the new detail found in the world and keeps the action focused on a more specific area, counteracting the feeling that some earlier environments seemed too empty.Nintendo has been keen to show off some of the more dynamic camera moments in X and Y, but this is the standard top-down view.
The games' menagerie of Pokémon have received a visual upgrade too, with fully-animated 3D models in battle directly influenced by their anime counterparts. "The animated series is played in around 75 countries and it creates certain expectations when people see these Pokémon in-game," Gamefreak's Junichi Masuda told Eurogamer. But that wasn't to say that the anime had started dictating elements of the games. "It's less about having hard lines between the game and the animation series, and more about us working together to decide what Pokémon would actually be like," he added.Masuda is a Pokémon veteran, a programmer and composer since the original Red and Green and then director of every core title from 2002's Ruby and Sapphire onwards. While Satoshi Tajiri holds the claim of being franchise creator and colleague Ken Sugimori has shaped Pokémon's trademark design, Masuda has had an enviable all-round perspective on the series. He was still contributing his own music for the games until 2010's Black and White.X and Y's new design has influenced other things, too - not least the decision to set it in a fictional version of France (previous games focused on regions of Japan, while Black and White moved the action to an adapted version of New York). "With X and Y we wanted to focus on a theme of beauty," Masuda explained. "From a Japanese perspective, when we think of design, food, fashion - a lot of people go to France to receive training. We think it's a country which focuses on beauty and so it was a good inspiration for the new Kalos region." The setting's influence is noticeable in some of Kalos' architecture but not overly forced - the world still feels like a corner of the Pokémon universe, albeit one with cafés that serve limonade and chocolat chaud. "The animated series... creates certain expectations when people see these Pokémon in-game."
Pokémon X and Y director Junichi Masuda
Pikachu now uses its anime voice in-game - 'special treatment' for the franchise's star, Masuda said.
The enhanced visuals now allow for a range of protagonist designs, too - after picking your gender you are given one of three specific looks to choose from (the differences being skin tone and hair colour). You can then change your character's clothing and accessories in-game with a huge wardrobe of outfits bought via in-game boutiques and available to alter with badges, buttons, ribbons and bows. But for all that's new in the game, there's a lot for long-term fans to enjoy - not least seeing some of the series' most memorable creatures again in 3D. More than any other recent edition, X and Y's opening areas include a multitude of Kanto species for older Pokéfans to get misty-eyed over. Want to relive Viridian Forest by catching a Caterpie or picking up a Pidgey? You can do just that. The first hour also includes sightings of Psyduck and a chance to catch Pikachu, and a little way after that, a present of an original Red and Blue starter. One of the few early story tweaks is that you now receive your first Pokémon via a group of friends. (Your choices are tough-shelled grass choice Chespin, vulpine fire beastie Fennekin and the frog-like water option, Froakie). Your pals accompany you through the game's initial locations, and you don't meet the game's Pokémon professor, Augustine Sycamore, until after the first gym. It's at this point you'll receive your Kanto starter, one of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. You'll also get to battle the professor, too, Masuda hinted. The inclusion of so many classic creatures could be seen as an acknowledgement that the series' increasingly long Pokédex was getting swamped by some of the more forgettable later creations. Not so, says Masuda. "Rather than a callback to previous generations, we just wanted to have lots of Pokémon in the game," he explained. The inclusion of so many classic species ties into the introduction of Mega Evolution, too. There's no better time to reintroduce some of the series' most-loved creatures than when many of them can get all-new evolutions.
