Shash has posted more WIP news of his DS Emulator for Windows:
Yesterday I was rather bored for a few hours (even if I've a lot of real life stuff to do...), so after checking some information from the DS cartridge header (for some unrelated work still to be done), I thought how hard it'd be to add an icon viewer to the "Game Info" dialog. Extracting it from the header wasn't that hard, as the format is quite simple: a 32x32 pixels icon, stored on a 8x8 tile basis, 4bits per pixel, which are used to lookup on a fixed 16 colour palette (per icon).
In fact, converting the icon was easy, but I had major problems due to some recent changes, as I forgot I needed to use GDI+ to draw stuff on dialogs, rather than using plain GDI (that's what all desmume uses on the windows port). When I moved the drawing code of the icon to GDI+, it worked perfectly. I deleted all the MAP/OAM/etc viewers that relied on GDI code, as I plan to rewrite the GUI in the near future anyway, so there's no point in fixing that code.
After that, I wanted to finally fix the last bits of Mario&Luigi to look perfect. A few weeks ago, I cared to make it run where it "freezed" in the past: in fact, it didn't freeze, just took ages to render a new frame, due to a rather important bug in the 3D core. The main problem after that, is that ALL textures looked wrong: for example, where Koopa should be, only textures of arrows were shown.
When approaching the problem, I had only a stupid idea of what could be: due to the way the display lists are handled, there was a slight chance that the texture bind before drawing the polygons was done in wrong order. Well, to make a long story short, I was wrong: I tried changing a few bits, even hacking some stuff, and it didn't fix anything. In fact, the fix was easier and more logical.
I've been coding on PC for quite a few years, and I'm quite used to some stuff working in a certain way. While emulating the 3D core of the DS, I've already fallen on that problem quite a few times: on the DS, setting attributes per polygon (without starting a "primitive block") isn't that rare, for example, transformations (scaling, for example :P). In this case, it was the texture changing while the primitive block was open. I guess that, if you want to draw all the stuff onscreen, and you only use one type of primitive (a quad, for example), then changing the texture within the primitive block isn't that rare.
Anyway, adding the ability to change textures within a primitive block fixed "Mario&Luigi: Partners in time" and "Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings", so now both seem to be 100% playable and glitch free (and run rather fast). The usual screenshots:

SeikoTheWiz a coder over at our friends Playeradvance forums posted a screen of a game coming soon from him/her.
Heres the screen:
Heres a description of what DOTA is from the Wiki:
Defense of the Ancients (often referred to as DotA) is a custom map for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for the Blizzard title Starcraft. It is a team strategy game focused on hero combat. The objective is to destroy the opponents' base using one's own Hero along with allied heroes and allied AI-controlled fighters called "creeps". Sharing concepts with role playing games, the player levels up their hero and uses gold to buy equipment in an effort to best the opposing team.
Sounds very interesting to me, lets wish the coder a speedy release

A year year has passed since the Nintendo Wii first burst onto the scene, becoming the simultaneous joy and frustration for gamers around the world, as huge numbers were sold and even bigger numbers of frustrated parents and fans began a year-long struggle to obtain one of the elusive white boxes.
While those who didn't get one continuously called game stores asking the question that many clerks still have nightmares about, waking up suddenly in a cold sweat screaming, "We don't have any Wiis, okay!?", we proud owners have been waking up every Monday to a new set of classic games to enjoy.
Now fickle Nintendo punishes us for our pride by releasing Sonic 3D Blast. One of the first bad Sonic games, 3D Blast (800 points) was technically neither, featuring pre-rendered sprites and a definite lack of fun. While we also get Super Air Zonk for the TurboGrafx16 CD (800 points) and Wrecking Crew (500 points), one of the few Mario games not named Mario-something, nothing can wash off the stink of Sonic 3D Blast. Happy Birthday Wii! Please don't hurt us anymore.

Sega has confirmed last week's rumours that old House of the Dead games will be coming to the Wii.
The second and third instalments of the zombie shooter will indeed be bundled together and released on Wii next spring. A perfect excuse to pick up the Wii Zapper then, which will be in the shops bundled with Link's Crossbow Training before the year's out.
Arcade and Time Attack modes will both be available, says Sega, along with single-player and co-operative antics. It'll be interesting to see if the earlier game is an Dreamcast port or straight from the arcade.
Sega's also bringing its current arcade shooter Ghost Squad to Wii.
"The House of the Dead franchise has been revamped for today's gamer looking for fast-paced shooting action on the Wii" commented Sega marketing man Gary Knight in the press release. "Utilising the new Wii Zapper, the player can get the renowned light gun experience in their own home."
After a quiet few years it looks like we're finally in the middle of a lightgun revival.

Nintendo's DS handheld has sold over 20 million units in Japan since launch, according to data from Media Create.
The system was originally launched in December 2004, and in February 2006 was relaunched at the DS Lite, with Nintendo reducing the size of the handheld as well as making other cosmetic changes.
Since release, the DS and DS Lite have accounted for 50.26 per cent of the hardware market in the region, with 83.95 million software units sold, or 40 per cent of the entire software market.

GCFTP v1.0 by emu_kidid
A FTP Server for the Nintendo Gamecube built with libOGC. This FTP server in no way meets all of the requirements of the complete FTP protocol, however it does work in FlashFXP which is what I tested with.
Features:
Backup and restore memory card files
Backup DVD Games or individual files from inside them
Saving of configuration to memory card and Auto Loading config
Maximum Speed is about 1.6mb/s to 2.3mb/s from DVD
Note there is no resuming of downloads/uploads and there is NO delete feature as files on the memcard are not easily recognized from their internal filenames and you may make a mistake. Also, please only upload valid .GCI files to a memory card.. I have done some checks to see if it is valid, but if it's not, I am not responsible if you somehow corrupt a card.
Thanks to:
shagkur, wintermute and softdev for libogc
Note: There's a PDF showing the features in use and how to configure this program included in the archive.
Also, don't Abort a download half way through from the FTP because you'll have to restart the DOL. This is something I'll fix in the near future.

graph05 has updated DsKara, his karaoke application for the DS.
you now have a single interface (Rom now weighs less than 200kb), which manages the karaokes. At the root of your memory card, you create a folder / DsKara / containing the songs. Raw and files in karaokes. The files must have the same name (for example, if you have a song.dsk get an song.raw, one for the karaoke, another for music)
Changelog:
- Lightweight changes on the skin
- Adding an interface to select the song
- Stop karaoke (which leads back to the choice of the song) with the B key
- Support external files. Dsk for karaoke. Raw for the song

Bigjoe2000 has updated his app for the DS, heres the details:
BackupBuddy is a simple utility that finds all files of the extensions you specift on your card and uploads them to an FTP server. The idea here is that you run this utility when you plug your DS in to charge at night. A few minutes later, you can rest assured that all your day's hard play will be backed up.
New Release. 0.9.1b
1. Supports multiple file types, not just .sav
2. Supports ignore directories (Specify what directories not to scan for files)
3. Allows you to preserve the path, so a file at /Moonshell/bookmarks.sav can now be saved on your FTP server under "upload/Moonshell/bookmarks.sav" You can also turn this feature off and just have all your files saved under "upload"
4. Added applause sound when backup is complete.
5. Renamed configuration file to /data/settings/bb.conf
6. Timestamp is now stored in separate file, so your config file will not be rewritten

New from Mr Modchips
This is an attachment for the PulseVU 2 or PulseVU 2X which adds up to an additional 3Amps* of power for controlling multiple** LEDs. Still not enough power?? Add more Power Extenders! As long as the power supply (or supplies) can handle the power, you can keep adding Extenders to connect LEDs to the PulseVU 2 lineup.
*The amount of current that can be supplied is also limited by your power supply. Please check the rating on your PSU to make sure it can handle the amount of LEDs you plan to use.
**3Amps of 20mA LEDs, wired in parallel, equals 150 LEDs. When wired in series, you can add even more LEDs.
