Nintendo has launched a new Wii channel in Japan that allows people to download demos of DS games.
As promised last month, the new channel also has other content like Wii trailers and a feedback form so you can send Nintendo love-notes.
Except, for now at least, the channel is only up and running in Japan, with Nintendo UK pointing out to us today that it has "not announced plans for a European roll-out at this time".
All of which means you'll just have to gawp at screenshots on the official website until someone does.
Editupdate: Or you could watch the video Wired dug up, right here. They are so handsome.

Another Monday, and another set of three VC titles to add to the list of Wii Shop Channel retro gaming. This week's list includes a few classics - depending on who you ask - that are sure to hit gaming's niche crowd. For NES-lovers, Double Dribble brings what many Nintendo fans considered the first true basketball offering on a home console, while Vegas Stakes was the first step down a slippery slope, letting Super NES owners take a plunge into the world of high stakes gambling. Round that package off with Ecco Jr. for the SEGA Genesis, and you've got a list that, depending on your love for nostalgia, may or may not have you dropping cash this week.
Per usual we've included Nintendo's latest official information on each game, as included in its original press release:
DOUBLE DRIBBLE (NES, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): DOUBLE DRIBBLE, the first 5-on-5, full-court home basketball game, is pure hoops action at its finest. While still a surprisingly accurate basketball game for its time, the frantic action keeps you on your toes as your players run from one end of the court to the other. Choose from a handful of teams and multiple levels of difficulty as you take on the computer alone or challenge a friend and see who has the better skills. Take the ball and sink shots from locations all over the court, or get in your opponent's face and do your best to block the shot. Better yet, drive the lane and rock the rim to see one of the game's trademark slam-dunk cut scenes. He shoots, he scores!
Vegas Stakes (Super NES¿, 1-4 players, rated E for Everyone - Simulated Gambling, 800 Wii Points): Feel like taking a road trip to Las Vegas? Let your inner high roller go wild as you try your luck at five different games-blackjack, slots, poker, craps and roulette. Start with only $1,000 in your pocket and play your way through five casinos, each with a different theme and varying limits. But no one wants to gamble alone, right? Not a problem, as you'll be able to choose one of four friends to tag along and offer advice when you need it. Further enhancing the experience is the fact that you'll be presented with a slew of interactions with random casino patrons. Best be careful, though-your choices in these situations could either get you closer to the millions of dollars you're after or cost you a pile of that hard-earned cash. Roll the dice, spin the wheel, hit or stand-do whatever it takes to stake your claim in Vegas and beat the house!
Ecco Jr. (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): The aquatic adventures of Ecco come to life for a younger generation of gamers. Perfect for kids, Ecco Jr. finds our young hero heading out to sea with a variety of tasks he must perform in order to get there. Along with his friends Tara the baby orca and Kitnee the young Atlantic dolphin, Ecco Jr. will interact with sea lions, sea horses and other aquatic life as he makes his journey to the Big Blue. Introduce your kids to the classic series of Ecco the Dolphin titles by downloading Ecco Jr. today.
We'll have more on these new titles, including media and final reviews, as the week continues.

Nintendo says there is "absolutely no truth" behind reports that it could be feeding media with stories to accentuate hype about the demand for its sold-out Wii console.
Speculation arose when a report regarding families paying over the odds for the highly sought-after console appeared in identical form in two totally different UK newspapers.
This was picked up by -BEEP-, who suggested Nintendo could have "fed" both publications the report to boost Wii demand hype.
Nintendo told us: "There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in what they have written, it is totally unsubstantiated and merely rumour they are reporting as fact."
A seemingly peeved Nintendo went on to state: "We are certainly NOT distributing any press release to feed media with demand stories - we never have."
There are various news pool sources from which newspapers can take stories for publication. This story could have come from one of those, which would explain the identical wording.

Tri-Crescendo, developers of Eternal Sonata for the Xbox 360 and PS3, are currently working on a new RPG for the Nintendo Wii. Entitled Fragile, the RPG follows the story of Set, a young boy who must explore various cities in a post-apocalyptic world.
Details at this time are scarce because, well, we can't read Japanese. Those with a bit more skill in the language department might want to check out the game's official website, which also features screenshots and a teaser trailer for the game.

It seems that Nyko is planning to release their own light gun shell attachment called "Perfect Shot". Release date is November 25th, but Amazon wont ship for another 4-6 weeks. Item sells for $14.99 but Amazon is selling it for $12.99.
Although its white and has a orange tip, there will probably be complaints from parents as the gun looks similar to a real gun if someone was to paint it all black.
Features- Traditional one handed pistol-like grip. Tactile trigger activates the "B" button
- Aiming sight increases accuracy
- Wii Remote easily slides into grip and locks into place
- Accessory pass-through port for other attachments like the Nunchuk and Classic Controller
- One hand remains free to operate the Nunchuk or other attachments simultaneously

Update from quirky:
I got side tracked with grit, adding the ability to share a palette between various images. Now that this problem is solved (Cearn sent me an interesting program to merge image palettes after I sent him a patch against grit to do something similar) Elite AGB compiles for the DS. All that's left is to get it working! :-)
At the minute the NDS file just shows 2 white screens; a familiar situation for anyone who has coded anything on the DS. So now to start debugging...

Updated from Foxy:
Having done Goldrunner which had not convinced all critics of the time because of its vertical scroll, Steve Bak developed this title in 9 months with Pete Lyon, which was a pearl technique en matiere de horizontal scrolling on the Atari ST.
History:
26.11.2007:
* Added enemies.
25.11.2007:
* Added minimap.
* Addition of gunfire.
* Addition of objects on the minimap.
24.11.2007:
* Added collision with decors.
* Added scientists.
23.11.2007:
* Premiere release "proof of concept".
* Adding animation of the ship.
How to play:
For the moment, right and left, and scroll to start to change the map.
Other information:
In the beginning I had in mind to bring Goldrunner II, but it is only a pale copy of the original title. For many Return to Genesis is true.
In this port, no big challenge because the GBA in terms of scrolling and management layers is much more powerful than the Atari, but it allowed me to refine my tools rip graphics on atari and my routines and sprites tiles
On the Atari version (and maybe Amiga), the game is unplayable because a little too fast, I hope that I could improve a little ca on the GBA version.
